![]() ![]() PICTURE # 5 GROUP 5 Yes, that's a spitoon in the center of the floor.... and these were the good ol' days? It appears the lighting fixtures are a mixture of gas and electric so this was likely taken shortly after the turn of the century. It's very much a posed picture so it must have been taken for advertising. With the passing of the InterUrban train system (about 1934) the hotel gradually lost its clientelle and went out of business prior to WW II. It was located on the SouthEast corner of Main and Center streets. The building burned down shortly after the war and was replaced with a large downtown parking lot which is still there.
