![]() ![]() PICTURE # 33 MISC 4 ALLEN Motor cars made at the NW Corner of Center and Wood Streets where the Post Office is today. This photo was taken sometime during 1919-1920. Shortly after the above original photo was made, the company became insolvent and went out of business. Mr. Allen was interviewed at the train station when he was leaving town and was reported to be optimistic, if not cheerful. He was quoted as saying he was broke when he came to Fostoria and he was broke on the day he left. So he was none the worse for the experience. He was undoubtedly putting the best face on a sad day but who can say he was wrong? In any event he took that train into oblivion--we don't know where he went or what he did next.
