Rickle, Tom W.

Funeral services for Tom William Rickle, 57, of rural Findlay, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, the Rev. Mike Hohenbrink officiating. Burial will be in Van Horn Cemetery, Amanda Township, Hancock County.

Visitation will be held from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Rickle died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 surrounded by his family at his residence.

He was born Oct. 23, 1946 in Findlay to Harold W. and Reva F. (Beard) Rickle. He married Margaret A. Lucas at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on April 4, 1970 and she survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Brian C. (Robin) of New Hampshire, Ohio; and Brad W. (Stephanie) and Bret J. (Jodi), both of Findlay; a daughter, Mrs. Andy (Cherie A.) Wright, Cygnet; two sisters, Mrs. Melvin (Bonnie) Powell, Benton Ridge; and Mrs. John (Donna) Riggs, Vanlue; two brothers, Glenn (Francie) of Findlay; and David (Anita) of Fostoria; five grandchildren, Jon, Joel, Kyle, Paige and Maya Rickle; 30 nieces and nephews and 35 great-nieces and -nephews.

Mr. Rickle retired Aug. 1, 2003 from Thysenkrump Atlas, Inc., Fostoria, where he was a machinist and was employed for 37 years. He was also a Biglick and Washington Township farmer for most of his life.

He was a 1964 graduate of Vanlue High School and was a 4-H advisor for the Vanlue Jr. Farmers 4-H Club for ten years.

Rhiness, Joanne R.

FOSTORIA -- Funeral services for Joanne R. Kauffman-Rhiness, 75, of Fostoria, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home where an Eagles auxiliary memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today.

Mrs. Rhiness died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004 at her residence.

Surviving are her stepmother, Gertrude Groves, Findlay; two half sisters, Patricia Richard and Marlene Rahe, both of Findlay; and a half brother, James Kauffman, in Arizona.

Risner, Violet Ruth

CAREY -- Violet Ruth (Orwick) Risner, 76, of 8058 W. County Road 59, Carey, died at 11:32 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.

She was born Nov. 3, 1927 in Mount Blanchard to Harry E. and Glaydes (Nichols) Orwick. She married Monroe Risner on April 4, 1951 and he survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Robert K. of Sycamore; Duane E. of Berwick; and Dwight E. of Fostoria; six daughters, Lorena G. Gibson, Wawaka, Ind.; Sheila L. Simon, Findlay; Brenda R. Risner and Rhonda R. Risner, both of Carey; and Pamela J. Donelson and Rita M. Shellhorn, both of Sycamore; a brother, Dennis Orwick, Carey; 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are a son, Roger K.; four sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Risner was a housewife.

She was a 1945 graduate of the former Salem High School.

Private graveside services will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, the Rev. Harold Bowling officiating.

Ruffing, Laura Jean

CAREY -- A Funeral Mass for Laura Jean Ruffing, 60, of 4353 Township Road 98, Carey, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, the Rev. Leo Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, where a scripture service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Ruffing died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 at the Blanchard Valley Regional Health Care Center, Findlay.

She was born May 6, 1943 in Carey to Albert S. and Hulda M. (Kentfield) Bentz. She married Samuel J. Ruffing on Oct. 31, 1964 at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation and he survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Rhonda (Brian) Pitts, Julie (Daniel) Walter and Lisa (Patrick) Bakies, all of Carey; a son, Charles "Chuck" of Fostoria; two sisters, Joan (Frank) Thompson and Mary Blair, both of Carey; four grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is a sister, Barbara Eddington.

Mrs. Ruffing was a housewife.

She was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation and a 1961 graduate of Carey High School.

Rickman, John W.

Funeral services for John William Rickman, 83, of 2801 S. Main St., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, the Rev. Mike VanDenEynde officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay, with military rites by the Hancock Veterans Memorial Squad.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Rickman died at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 at the Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.

He was born June 8, 1920 in Lawrence County, Ky., to Will and Leanie (Thompson) Rickman. He married Onolda V. Ferrell on March 27, 1981 and she survives.

Also surviving is a brother, Walter "Walt" in Kentucky.

Preceding him in death are two brothers, Tom and Willard; and two sisters, Dorothy Blankenship and Jette Slone.

Mr. Rickman retired in 1985 from Seneca Wire and Manufacturing Company, Fostoria, where he worked for 29 years and one month.

He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. He was also a member of Pleasant Hill Church of God, where he served as a board member. John was a loving and caring husband who was loved by all his nieces and nephews.

Powell, Ruth G.

Ruth Geraldine Powell, 80, of Findlay, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at Taylor House in Findlay.

She was born June 10, 1923 in Toledo to Bert E. & Mabel Alice (Carson) Trumpy.

She married Harold Powell Jr. March 22, 1944 and he died Sept. 10, 1992. Ruth is survived by three sons, Douglas L. (Bonnie) Powell of Tiffin, H. Thomas (Marilyn) Powell of Toledo, Michael L. Powell of North Ft. Myers, FL; two daughters, Nancy Smith of Findlay, Debra A. (Tom) Morgan of Carey; eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Don Trumpy of Findlay, Bill Trumpy of Texas and Bert Trumpy of Fostoria.

She was preceded in death by a son, Terry E. Powell; a son-in-law, John Smith; a brother, Ed; and two sisters, June Trumpy & Betty Rader.

Ruth was a homemaker and active in the Senior Citizens of Carey and Findlay.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Pastor Chris Cravens officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Robarge, Lynn A.

FOSTORIA -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Lynn A. Robarge, 55, of 1381 South Drive, Fostoria, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a wake service will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

Mrs. Robarge died at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004 at her residence.

Surviving are her mother, Dorothy Cochran, Fostoria; her husband, Robert B. of Fostoria; two daughters, Amy D. Stein, Fremont; and Mrs. Shad (Veronica M.R.) Earick, Willard; a brother, Gary Cochran, Fostoria; and two sisters, Paulette West, Fostoria; and Bonnie Lucas, in Florida.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care, Tiffin, or St. Wendelin Church and schools.


Posey, 'Jean' Evelyn

Evelyn "Jean" Posey, 67, of TR 112, Fostoria, died at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Toledo Hospital.

She was born April 10, 1936, in Richmondale, Ohio, to the late William and Ruby (Cash) Smith.

On Aug. 21, 1954, she married Milton Posey, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chillicothe. He survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are: two daughters, Donna Beasley of Fostoria and Ruth Gaiter of Port Clinton; two brothers, William Smith of Chillicothe and Larry Smith of Amanda; four sisters, Ernestine Osborn of Frankfort, Marie Moore of Beaver, Dorothy McAfee of Chillicothe and Connie LaVeck of Amanda; and a grandchild.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Bascom. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, with a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m., at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria.


Robinson, Monroe "Rob"

FOSTORIA -- Monroe F. "Rob" Robinson, 69, of Fostoria, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 25, 2004 at Fostoria Community Hospital.
Surviving are two daughters, Angela K. Robinson, Irving, Texas; and Shileen Nixon, McMurray, Penn.; two brothers, Charles of Fostoria; and Delbert of Pemberville; and a sister, Sarah Jane Robinson, in West Virginia.

There will be no services or visitation.

Pahl, Gary A.

Gary A. "Sperm" Pahl, 51, of 2670 Arbor Parkway South, Findlay, and formerly of Carey and Wasilla, Ala., died at 3:33 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.

He was born May 20, 1952, in Upper Sandusky, to Leroy "Windy" Pahl and Beatrice "Bea" Presler. He married Sandra J. Walter and they divorced.

Survivors include two daughters, Sophie J. Pahl, Roanoke, Va.; and Holly A. Pahl, Findlay; and a brother, Dennis E. of Carey.

Mr. Pahl had owned and operated the Alaska Wilderness Outfitters in Valdez, Ala. He had also worked at the former Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria.

He graduated from Carey High School in 1970, was of the Lutheran faith, and was a member of Eagles Post 2198, Carey; NRA; and many wildlife and outfitters organizations.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carey, Interim Pastor Andrea Starn officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Preston, Fredrick

RISINGSUN -- Funeral services for Fredrick "Popeye" Preston, 90, of County Road 21, Risingsun, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Gus Christo-Baker officiating. Burial will be in Scott Trinity Cemetery, near Risingsun.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Preston died at 2:46 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2004 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.

He was born Aug. 8, 1913 in Findlay to Harry and Mabel (Uhlenhaker) Preston. He married Anna Faye Stahl on Nov. 29, 1974 in Findlay and she survives in Risingsun.

Also surviving are five sons, George (Elsie) of West Chester; Mark (Darla) of Rawson; Harry (Becky) of Cocoa, Fla.; Ora (Jean) of Tiffin; and Vern (Debra) of Findlay; three daughters, Mrs. Martin (Mary) Browne, Carey; Ann Baker, Troy, Ala.; and Mrs. Kenneth (Doris) Walker, Corinth, Miss.; four stepsons, Louis (Linda) and Jerry (Karen) Jakcsy, both of Risingsun; John Jakcsy, Fostoria; and Larry Jakcsy, Yorkville, Ill.; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Butch (Brenda) Klotz and Mrs. Mike (Cathy) Shultz, both of Fostoria; Suzie Tooman, Findlay; and Mrs. Charles (Rose) Brough, Marion; a brother, Daniel of Port Clinton; four sisters, Mrs. Guy (Edith) Snyder, Findlay; and Mrs. Willie (Ruth) Augsburger, Mrs. Don (Rosemary) Ferguson and Mrs. Dave (Norma Jean) Baker, all of Inverness, Fla.; 26 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are two brothers, Paul and Harry James; and three sisters, Elsie Williamson, Beatrice Stevens and Aldyth Lucille Preston.

Mr. Preston retired in 1978 from Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria.

He loved Hunting and Fishing.

Parsons, William O. 'Bill'

William Owen "Bill" Parsons, 87, of Fostoria, died Wednesday evening in Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born Dec. 27, 1916 to the late Edward E. and Mary O. (Beckley) Parsons. On Feb. 21, 1948 he married Geneva Rice, and she survives.

Survivors also include: three sons, Charles E., Robert A., and Steven D. Parsons, all of Fostoria; two daughters, Mrs. Annette McClellan of Fostoria, and Mrs. Jeanette Knaggs of Bradner; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Jo Parsons of Fostoria; four brothers, Alexis Parsons of Tiffin, Emerson Parsons of Pemberville, Brooks A. and Eldon Parsons, both of Fla.; a sister, Bernadine Fath of Lexington, KY; 16 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Mr. Parsons is a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during WW II in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennas, and Central Europe.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. in Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria. Burial at Mausoleum in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia, where the United Veterans Council of Fostoria will conduct Military Honors.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Memorials may be made to Fostoria High School Athletics or Fostoria Veteran's Memorial Chapel.


Puffenberger, John L.

FOSTORIA -- Funeral services for John L. Puffenberger, 83, of Columbus Avenue, Fostoria, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Puffenberger died at 1:35 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004 at Fostoria Community Hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Hila Puffenberger, Fostoria; four sons, John "Pat" of Bradner; Kevin of Fostoria; Michael of Bascom; and Dwayne in South Korea; and four sisters, Evon Mooney, Joann Holzworth and Evelyn Raitz, all of Tiffin; and Marian Boyer, Fostoria.

Reidling, Doris L.

FOSTORIA -- Doris L. Reidling, 82, of Fostoria, died at 6:20 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2004 at Independence House, Fostoria.

Surviving are a son, Rick Westenbarger, Fostoria; and two sisters, Mildred Murray, Toledo; and Ruth Hutton, Fremont.

There will be no services or visitation.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Rahrig, Charles R.

Charles R. Rahrig, 74, Columbus Avenue, died at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Medical College of Ohio, Toledo.

He was born March 5, 1930 in McComb to Charles and Laila (Morrison) Rahrig. He married Janet S. Distel on April 29, 1977 in Fostoria.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Rahrig, Fostoria; two sons, Charles (Mary) K. Rahrig, and Dennis (Cynthia) M. Rahrig, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; two stepsons, Jeffrey L. (Nancy) Distel and Mark R. (Cindy) Distel, both of Fostoria; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Gregory A. (Kristine) Filliater, Marion; Mrs. James (Linda) Kiser, Millersburg; three grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and eight step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Virgene Barkley, Betty Biddle; and one stepgrandson Shannon Distel.

Mr. Rahrig retired in 1992 from Airfoil Textron where he worked as a chief engineer for 17 years. He was a 1948 graduate of Fostoria High School and a 1961 graduate of the University of Toledo where he earned his bachelor of science in industrial engineering. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, AmVets, Elks, Moose, Eagles and United Sportsmen Club, all of Fostoria. Mr. Rahrig was an avid sportsman loving hunting and fishing and also enjoyed his time with his family and friends.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery where military honors will be performed by United Veterans of Fostoria.

Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to ALS Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice.



Phillips, W. LaVonne

FOSTORIA -- W. LaVonne Phillips, 81, of Fostoria, passed away Saturday morning, May 15, 2004 at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

She was born April 5, 1923 in Fostoria to the late Truman E. and Gertrude F. (Fundom) Dillon. She married Earl M. Good, Jr. and they were divorced. She then married Thony A. Roppe and he preceded her in death Nov. 22, 1972. She later married Norman F. Phillips and he preceded her in death Nov. 20, 2001.

Survivors include: two daughters, Paula J. (J. Robert) Lombardy and Pamela J. Huffman, both of Fostoria; four grandchildren, J. Robert Jr. and Bart C. Lombardy, both of Fostoria, Veronique L. Fournier, Van Buren, and Matthew A. Huffman, Fostoria; six great grandchildren, Andrea F., Elizabeth A., Jillian M., and Brett A. Lombardy, and Zachary L. and Zara R. Fournier; and a brother, Doyle A. (Bernice) Dillon, Fostoria.

One grandson, Mark A. Huffman, and two brothers, Clyde R. and Clifford E. Dillon, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and worked as a secretary at the Gray Printing Co., Fostoria. She also served as corporate secretary for the Roppe Corporation, Fostoria, for a number of years. In her early years in spare time, LaVonne was a seamstress and furrier.

She was a lifelong member of Grace United Church of Christ, Fostoria, where she was a deacon and an elder, and served as secretary of the consistory for many years. LaVonne was also a member of the Fostoria Emblem Club. She was interested in genealogy and enjoyed the outdoors, having grown up and lived on a farm for much of her life. LaVonne was a loving wife and mother completely devoted to her family, always placing their interests before her own. She especially enjoyed spending time with and helping her grandchildren.

Private services will take place Wednesday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.

Memorials are suggested to Grace United Church of Christ, Community Hospice Care of Tiffin, or Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.


Rhoades, Carl W.

Carl W. Rhoades, 78, formerly of Findlay, died at 8:35 p.m., Thursday, May 20, 2004 at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, where he was a resident.

A native of Fostoria, he was born April 27, 1926 to the late Carl S. and Bernice (Mullen) Rhoades. He married Lou Marie Yenser on September 30, 1950 in Lima, Ohio and she died June 17, 1996.

Surviving is a niece, Linda Turner, Tucson, Ariz., and special friends, Debbie Crislip and Lois Curth, both of Findlay.

Two sons, Jeffery M. and Brian L. Rhoades, and two brothers, Donald F. and Dean A. Rhoades, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Rhoades retired in 1978 as head custodian of Northview Elementary, Findlay City Schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. In November of 2003, in a special ceremony at St. Catherine's, Mr. Rhoades was presented with a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat on April 3, 1945.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria, and the DAV, Findlay. Carl was a quiet, gentle person and deeply loved his collie, Sam.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 24, 2004 at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Lynn J. Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, where the United Veterans of Fostoria will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.

Memorials are suggested to Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria.


Roelle, Rita A.

FOSTORIA -- Rita A. Roelle, 70, of Fostoria, died at 2:43 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born April 8, 1934 in Rineyville, KY., to John and Hester (Howell) Thompson, and they preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Roelle II and Randell Roelle, both of Fostoria,and Michael Roelle of Washington; three daughters, Kathryn Cox of Findlay, Brenda Roelle of Austin, TX, and Sheryl Day of Fostoria; companion Richard Tasker of Fostoria; two brothers, Bruce and David Thompson, both of KY; two sisters, Mable Smith of KY, and Margaret Seigel of Upper Sandusky; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sue Buckles; and three brothers, J.O., Paul and Harold Thompson.

Mrs. Roelle was a retired inspector and assembler at Harris Corp. in Findlay, where she worked for 34 years. She graduated from Rineyville High School in 1952 and was a member of Fostoria Eagles and VFW.

Rhine, Neva Anna

Neva Anna Rhine, 86, resident of St. Catherine's Care Center, died at 9:40 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2004 at the care center.

She was born Nov. 6, 1917 in Gibsonburg to Vernon and Emma (Reef) McGee. She married Carl C. Rhine on Feb. 25, 1935 in Tiffin and he died Oct. 10, 1980.

She is survived by one son, Roger (Denise) Rhine, Inverness, Fla.; son-in-law, Bill Jeakle, Fostoria; four grandchildren, Sherri (Mike) Beach, Bloomdale; Keith (Jeanette) Jeakle, Findlay; Cindii and Jimmy Rhine, both of Arcadia; five great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Jean Jeakle; one brother, Merle McGee; and one sister, Ruth Hatfield.

Mrs. Rhine was a homemaker and former sales clerk at Dairy Mart.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, near Arcadia.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Anna Cecilia Rochester, 89, Tiffin, died at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2004 at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.

She was born to Leander and Elizabeth (Gase) Strausbaugh.

She is survived by six sons, Richard Rochester, rural Tiffin; James Rochester, Fostoria; Ronald, David, Thomas and Joseph Rochester, all of Tiffin; two daughters, Marjorie Conner, Tiffin; Judith Row, Bettsville; and two sisters, Lillian Zimmerman, Gibsonburg; and Clara Zirger, Tiffin.

Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. David M. Ross officiating, with a rosary being recited 15 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.

Reinhart, Louise C.

Louise C. Lutes Reinhart, 90, New Riegel, died at 6:56 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2004 at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.

She was born March 1, 1914 in New Riegel to Elmer C. and Oliva (Elchert) Ulman. Her mother died in 1974 and her father in 1981. She married Robert Reinhart in 1980 and he died in 1984.

She is survived by two sons, Eugene (Sharon) Lutes, Tiffin; Robert (Jean) Lutes, New Riegel; one daughter, Marie (John) Humphreys, Maumee; two stepsons, Howard (Susie) Reinhart, Tiffin; Bernard (Norma) Reinhart, Alvada; two stepdaughters, Rita (Art) Reinhart, Fostoria; Sally (John) Rumschlag, New Riegel; one brother, Harold (Ruthann) Ulman, New Riegel; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Diane Miller; two sisters, Dorothy Snyder and Viola Montpetit; and one brother, Raymond Ulman.

Mrs. Reinhart was a 1932 graduate of New Riegel High School. She retired in 1982 after 26 years at the New Riegel Cafe.

She was a member of Rosary Altar Society, New Riegel Moose Ladies, American Legion Auxiliary, Board of St. Francis Home, Tiffin Senior Citizens, AARP of Fostoria, and Democratic Central Committeeperson at New Riegel.

She was an avid card player and the founder of the New Riegel Card Players Club.

Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, with the Rev. Ron Schock officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883 (419) 447-3113 and one hour prior to the funeral Mass Friday at the church.

Pixley, Mary Jane

Mary Jane "Janie" LaBontie Pixley, 77, Bowling Green, died Friday, July 23, 2004 at Independence House.

She was born Aug. 17, 1926 in Vincennes, Ind. to David E. and Esta (Henderick) LaBontie. She married Charles E. Pixley Jr. on April 20, 1950 and he died in 1999.

She is survived by one son, J. Cash Pixley, Fostoria; one daughter, Jana S. Pixley-Alter, Grove City; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Theriac.

Mrs. Pixley attended MacMurray College for Women in Jacksonville, Ill. She was the former secretary at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Bowling Green, and a long time member, as well. She was a member of Bowling Green Country Club where she and her husband enjoyed golf after retirement.

Celebration of Life service is 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Bowling Green, with Rev. Dale Schaefer officiating. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bowling Green.

Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dunn Funeral Home, Bowling Green.

Ridenour, Dorothy M.

Dorothy M. Ridenour, 69, Fostoria, died 2:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 at her home.

She was born April 20, 1935 in Sandusky County to Erlin and Lavon (Kissling) Stahl. She married Kenneth Ridenour on Oct. 5, 1957 and he died April 14, 1998.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Diana) Barry, Duluth, Ga.; one son, Edward (Cindy) Ridenour, Belden, Neb.; two brothers, Paul E. (Jan) Stahl, Fostoria; Leighton Lee (Margie) Stahl, Kansas; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother, Ralph Stahl.

Mrs. Ridenour was a homemaker and had been a driver for several years for Reineke Ford. She was a member for many years of the Findlay Church of God and currently attended the Dillon Road Baptist Chruch. She enjoyed bowling and traveling with her many friends.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hoening Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Minton officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.

Rainey, Minta

Minta Rainey, 92, formerly of E. South St., Arcadia, died at 6:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at Blakely Care Center, North Baltimore.

Born July 4, 1912 in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. to the late Albert N. and Lydia Annis (Pointer) Criss, she married Harold E. Rainey on July 24, 1933 in Rockland, Ohio, and he preceded her in death Sept. 13, 2001.

Survivors include: two daughters, Shirley A. Etoll, Findlay and Mrs. Gary (Marilyn K.) Auck, Bucyrus; four grandchildren, Angie Blocher, Amy Williams, Todd Moore and Kristina Brown; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and one sister, Verna Miller, North Baltimore.

Three sisters, Molly Keener, Erma Tripp and Elva Ward, one brother, James Criss, one grandchild, Jeff Shelton, and one great great grandchild, Leah Shelton, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Rainey was a homemaker and worked at the Fostoria Screw Co. during World War II. She was a graduate of Zaleski (OH) High School and was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church, Fostoria Women of the Moose, and the Fostoria Eagles Auxiliary. Minta enjoyed playing the piano and did so for the clubs to which she belonged. She also played piano in several different country western bands, including the "Rhythm Rascals."

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004 in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Michael N. Malcosky officiating.

Reino, Anthony Eugene

Anthony Eugene Reino, 54, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., died Sept. 2, 2004.

He was born July 16, 1950 in Tiffin to Tony and Alice (Tong) Reino.

He is survived by a sister, Beverly Thompson, Fostoria; a niece, Paula Thompson-Kirkpatrick; and a nephew, Scott Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Reino was employed at Precision Blueprinting, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He graduated in 1968 from Tiffin Calvert High School. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tiffin.

Piotter, Thelma Ann

Thelma Ann Piotter, 61, of Findlay and formerly of Fostoria, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 21, 2004 at Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 7, 1943 in Punxsutawney, Pa. to Horace Oliver, Sr. and Mary (Hollibinko) Boone. She married her loving husband, Raymond E. Piotter, on Aug. 2, 1964 in the First Methodist Church, Fostoria. Together they shared a wonderful marriage of more than 40 years.

Thelma is survived by: her husband, Raymond, Findlay; mother, Mary Boone, Fostoria; two daughters, Mrs. Scott (Sherry) Grieser, Arlington; Mrs. Steven (Laurie) Shepherd, Findlay; four grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Zachary and Logan Grieser and Storm and Schylar Shepherd; and three brothers, Horace Oliver Boone, Jr., Arcadia; William Boone, Fostoria; and Robert Boone, Cleveland.

A 1961 graduate of Fostoria High School, Thelma retired in 1995 as manager of the frozen food department at the former Food Town in Fostoria. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Eagles Auxiliary, and the Cancer Support Group, all in Fostoria, and the Findlay Moose.

Thelma enjoyed camping and bowling in her younger years and more recently found her greatest satisfaction in babysitting grandchildren. She was a proud mother, a faith-filled and confident woman, and a good friend to many.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004 at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, Rev. Dr. Brian Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.

Paugh, Hester M.

Hester M. Paugh, 78, Fostoria, died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 at Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 31, 1926 in Greenup, Ky. to David Allen and Ollie Mae (Rister) Archey, and they are deceased. She married Jessie James Paugh on Feb. 2, 1945 in Kentucky and he died May 1, 1993.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Sylvia) McCartney, Bloomdale; Joyce Stinson, McComb; two sons, Roger Lee (Andrea) Paugh, Fostoria; Richard Wayne (Bonnie) Paugh, Fostoria; eight grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dola Powell, Chillicothe, Ohio; Mrs. Marty (Sharon) Hutchinson, Londondary, Ohio; Margaret Cadwell, Welston, Ohio; Mary Archey, South Dakota; two brothers, Pete Archey, Londondary, Ohio; Tom (Eleanor) Archey, Little Rock, Ark.; and special friend, Theron Rowe, Fostoria.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Robert, James L. and Howard E. Paugh; one sister Mildred Fout; and four brothers, Ernie, Ralph, Calvin and Billy Archey.

Mrs. Paugh was a homemaker and operated the former "Jim's Live Bait" from 1960 to 1971. She also worked at a powder plant during World War II in Londondary, Ohio. She was past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Fostoria, and current member of the Tiffin Moose and Fostoria VFW.

She was known as a very loving and giving person. She enjoyed fishing and was a talented mushroom hunter.

Daniel James Risner, 21, Vanlue, died at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004.

Perez, Bonnie J.

Bonnie J. Perez, 47, Findlay, died at 3:55 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2004 at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 31, 1956 in Fostoria to Bennie J. and Dorothy L. (Scott) Cooper, her mother survives in Findlay.

She married Peter M. Perez on Aug. 1, 1981 and he survives.

Also surviving are: one daughter, Jacqueline L. Perez, Findlay; a stepson, Anthony G. Perez of Findlay; two stepdaughters, Jennifer L. (Kevin) Ulrich and Christy L. (Mike) Atchison, all of Findlay; one sister, Patricia J. Brown-Etter, Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren, Mackenzie and Wyatt Atchison and Logan Ulrich.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She retired from Honeywell following 25 years of service in Quality Control. She attended Cornerstone Baptist Church. Bonnie enjoyed baking, crafts, gardening and loved to swim. She also collected nutcrackers.

Lester K. Payne, 73, McComb died suddenly Friday Oct. 15, 2004 1 a.m. at his residence.

He was born Sept. 10, 1931 to Wilbur and Jessie (Brecht) Payne. He married Oneda (Winover) on June 13, 1952 in West Leipsic and she survives.

He was survived by a son Jack (Marsha), McComb; and 3 daughters Mrs. Don (Bonnie) Smith, Mrs. Jim (Jill) Smith and Mrs. Bruce (Joyce) McKinnis, all of McComb. There are nine grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Benjamin Smith, Heidi Payne, Eric Payne, Adam Payne, Holli Payne, Toni Hassan, Kelli Smith, Ami Smith. Also surviving are brothers Marion, Stark Fla.; Harold of Slidell, La.; and sisters Carrie Walsh, Fostoria; and Mrs. Bill (Lois) Sherman, Findlay.

He was preceded in death by brothers Clayton, Don, Charles, and Paul; and sisters Marvis Shrider, Thelma and Evelyn Payne.

Lester retired in 1990 from Allied Eggery in Leipsic having worked 41 years as supervisor of printing. He was a member of the McComb First Presbyterian Church. Lester was a 1949 McComb High School graduate. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1951-1955 during the Korean Conflict. Lester helped his sons-in-law farm. He enjoyed fishing with his wife on Lake Erie. Lester was a Great Husband, Father, and Granddad who will be missed.

Visitation will be on Monday Oct. 18,2004 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at HARTLEY FUNERAL HOME in McComb. Funeral service will be on Tuesday Oct. 19, 2004 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Greg Doll officiating. Burial will be at Knollcrest Memory Gardens Arcadia, Ohio.

Paugh, Herbert S.

Herbert S. Paugh, 75, Kansas, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004 at his home.

He was born Aug. 15, 1929 in East Monroe to William and Daisy (Shadley) Paugh. He married JoAnn B. Kinn on June 3, 1952 in Fostoria.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn B. Paugh, Kansas; two daughters, Linda (Mike) Rose and Karen (Richard) Lesher, both of Kansas; two brothers, Art Paugh, Bainbridge; Russ Paugh, Greenfield; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Brenda Ann Paugh; one sister, Martha Annon; and two brothers, James and Robert Paugh.

Mr. Paugh retired in 1973 from Seneca Wire after 24 years where he worked as an inspector. He also worked in the maintenance department at Fostoria Community Hospital. He was an U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.

Zackery Wayne Peace, Anderson Street, died at 12:15 a.m. Nov. 4, 2004 at Fostoria Community Hospital, where he was born that day.

Lorena G. Reinhart, 96, Carey, died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 at Elmwood at the Shawhan, Tiffin.

She was born Jan. 23, 1908 in Seneca County to Peter and Mary (Kirian) Welter. She married Daniel M. Reinhart on Feb. 11, 1931 and he died on March 20, 1992.

She is survived by two sons, Cletus (Susann) Reinhart, New Riegel; Donald (Joann) Reinhart, Carey; one daughter, M. Lucille (Joe M.) Daniel, Tiffin; 16 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Paul T. Reinhart; four brothers, Edward, Clarence, Sylvester and William Welter and two sisters, Agnes Bisner and Evelyn Reinhart.

Mrs. Reinhart was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown, the Rosary Altar Society and the Eagle Auxiliary in Carey.

Rothgeb, Blanche

Blanche Rothgeb, 93, Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky and formerly of Carey, died at 3:17 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004 at the nursing center.

She was born Feb. 24, 1911 in Fostoria to Thomas I.V. and Irene L. (Witter) Keckler. She married Carl Runion in 1927 and later divorced. She then married Elmer Rothgeb in 1929 and he died Oct. 6, 1976.

She is survived by two sons, Willard Runion, Oregon; Harold Gene Rothgeb, Spokane, Wash.; three sisters, Helen Stone, Eileen Gwaltney and Cora Joan Church all of Fostoria; 16 grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jack L. Rothgeb, six brothers, Harrison, Richard, Paul, Donald, Orville and Daniel; three sisters, Mona, Bertha and Betty Jane; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Rothgeb was a homemaker. She was past president of the Carey Senior Citizens. She was a member of Ridge Chapel Church of the Nazarene, Carey.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at the Ridge Chapel Church of the Nazarene, Carey, with Pastor Matt Doerle officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, at a later date.

Risner, Dorothy L.

Dorothy L. Risner, 76, of Fostoria, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at her home.

She was born Nov. 17, 1927 in Belle Vernon, Ohio"¦it was a very good year.

She was predeceased by her parents Clyde A. and Mildred M. (Riedel) Hufford and her sister, Marjorie L. Rinehold.

She is survived by her children, Thomas D. Tarleton, Wooster; David A. Tarleton of Baltimore, Md.; Toni Tarleton Harter, Lemon Grove, Calif.; Bo Risner, Findlay; and Rick L. Risner, Toledo. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Hope.

Dorothy owned and operated Alpha Antiques in Bettsville until 1984. She was retired from Airfoil-Textron (Ex-Cell-O) after 36 years. After retirement, she assisted in the cafeteria at St. Wendelin grade school for more than 11 years. She also returned to school and earned her diploma from Fostoria High School in 1998.

There will be no visitation. The Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, is assisting the family with private arrangements.

Those wishing to give memorials are asked to consider Bridge Home Health and Hospice in Findlay, Ohio.
