OTTAWA -- Clyde L. Kreinbrink,
61, of Ottawa, died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000 at St.
Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born July 25, 1938 in Lima
to Hubert and Mary (Ruhe) Kreinbrink, and his mother survives
in Ottawa. He married Marilyn C. Hughes on Aug. 2, 1999 and
she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Scott
of Bowling Green; two daughters, Michelle Clouse, Fostoria;
Kelley Kreinbrink, Los Angeles, Calif.; two stepsons, Charles
Hughes, Glandorf; Nicholas Hughes, Ottawa; three stepdaughters,
Lynn Schumaker, Kalida; Teresa Schroeder, Ottawa; Denise Adair,
Norfolk, Va.; two grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and
two brothers, Dennis of Ottawa; and Duane of Leipsic.
He was preceded in death by a sister,
Carol Kuhlman.
Mr. Kreinbrink was the retired
superintendent of the Miller City/New Cleveland School District.
He was a former teacher and principal at Miller City High School,
and was on the Putnam County Board of Education.
He graduated from St. Joseph's
College in Rennsalear, Ind. and earned a master's degree from
Bowling Green State University. He had served in the U.S. Marine
Corps.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and
Paul Catholic Church and the American Legion, both of Ottawa.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated
at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Ben Meiring officiating.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Glandorf, where military
rites will be conducted by the Ottawa American Legion.
Visitation will be held from 7-9
p.m. today and from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa,
where a scripture service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

County Home Health/Hospice.

Joseph M.
FOSTORIA--Joseph Michael Kruszynski,
77, of rural Fostoria, died at 6:05 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2000
at Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Oct. 4, 1922 in Fostoria
to Joseph Michael and Waleria (Ulanowski) Kruszynski. He married
Bernadette O'Donnell on July 27, 1946 in Chicago and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons,
J. Michael of Hurst, Texas; Paul T. of Skokie, Ill.; Kenneth
W. of Bedford, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Patrick (Bonnie Jeanne)
Murphy, Southlake, Texas; six grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine
Cameron, Dearborn Heights, Mich.
He was preceded in death by six
brothers, Martin, John, Peter, Paul, Felix and Francis; and
six sisters, Connie Dass, Regina Steupak, Eleanor Kelbley, Clara
Brown, Helen Thompson and Bea Wilkes.
Mr. Kruszynski worked for the Chicago
Police Department for 34 years before retiring in 1986.
He was a member of St. Wendelin
Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eagle, both of
Fostoria; the Fraternal Order of Police, Chicago; the Illinois
Police Association; and the New Riegel Moose. He served in the
U.S. Marines during World War II.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Visitation will be held from 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. A Christian
wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home. A Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Military honors will be performed by the United Veterans of
Fostoria following the Mass at St. Wendelin Mausoleum.

FOSTORIA -- Charles J. "Carl" Keiffer,
72, of North Union Street, Fostoria, died at 8 a.m. Friday,
Feb. 11, 2000 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 1, 1928 in Alvada
to Ira and Minnie (Wagner) Keiffer. He married Frances L. Chapman
on April 23, 1949 in Covington, Ky., and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons,
Charles of St. Petersburg, Fla.; David of Orlando, Fla.; Edward
of Hamilton; six daughters, Mrs. William (Carol) Watson, Mrs.
Steve (Peggy) Gebauer, Mrs. Dennis (Patricia) Hogan, Robyn Meadows
and Mrs. Miles (Jan) Reinhard, all of Fostoria; and Mrs. David
(Julie) Goodrick, Canal Fulton; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;
a brother, Paul of Bascom; and a sister, Rita Cavanaugh, Findlay.
He was preceded in death by two
brothers, Clarence and Earl; and a sister, Alma Theis.
Mr. Keiffer worked at Bendix-Autolite
for 40 years before retiring in 1988.
He was a member of St. Wendelin
Catholic Church, Fostoria. He was a member of Fostoria Eagles
Club and New Riegel American Legion. He served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated
at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Fountain
Cemetery, where the New Riegel American Legion will perform
military honors.
Visitation will be held from 2-4
and 7-9 Monday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, where a rosary
service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Monday.

the Seneca County Hospice or a charity of the donor's

Henry L. Luzadder Jr., 53, of 2248
McCutchenville Road, Fostoria, died at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb.
15, 2000, in the Bowling Green Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Dec. 1, 1946, in Fostoria,
to Henry L. Sr. and Glada R. (Smith) Luzadder. His mother survives
in Fostoria. On June 21, 1990, in the former Bethel United Methodist
Church, Fostoria, he married Dawn Watson. She survives in Fostoria.
Survivors include: a son, Jacob
Luzadder at home; three daughters, Ashlee Luzadder at home,
Terrie Durain of Grand Rapids, Ohio, and Denise Luzadder of
Fremont; two sisters, Mrs. Douglas (Nadine) Niswander and Ellen
Luzadder, both of Fostoria; and five grandchildren.
His father died in April 1984,
and a sister, Sophia Luzadder, also is deceased.
Mr. Luzadder, a U.S. Army veteran,
having served during the Vietnam era, worked as a tire builder
for Cooper Tire in Findlay. He previously had been employed
at Union Carbide in Fostoria for 10 years.
Pastor Lex DeLong will be the officiant
at the 10:30 a.m. Friday service in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home,
Fostoria. Interment will be in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township,
where military graveside rites will be conducted by the United
Veterans of Fostoria.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Leo Joseph Lucius, 58, of 3015
S. CR 591, died at his residence at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb.
17, 2000.
He was born Dec. 30, 1941, in Seneca
County to Louis and Pauline (Wank) Lucius.
Surviving are: two sons, Todd of
Fostoria and Scott of Gowen, Mich.; two daughters, Jodie Segovia
of Las Vegas, Nev., and Cynthia Lucius of Staten Island, N.Y.;
nine grandchildren; four brothers, Marion, Eugene and Herman
of Tiffin and Virgil of California; three sisters, Mrs. Emil
(Alice) Siegle Jr. of New Riegel, Mrs. Douglas (Rosemary) Brown
of Willard and Helen Ring of Twinsburg.
Preceding him in death were his
parents and two brothers, Joseph and Louis Paul.
He was employed by Lucius Door
Co. of Tiffin for 28 years. A member of St. Boniface Catholic
Church in New Riegel and the Moose Lodge of New Riegel, he was
an avid outdoorsman, which included fishing and hunting. He
also enjoyed playing cards.
The funeral Mass will be at 10
a.m. Monday in the St. Peter Catholic Church in Alvada with
the Rev. Leonard Kistler officiating. One-hour visitation will
be at the church prior to the mass where the Rosary will be
recited at 9:45 a.m. Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic
Cemetery at New Riegel.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday
at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home where a wake service will
be at 4 p.m.

Catherine J. Kitchen, 90, died
Saturday morning, Feb. 19, 2000, at her home of 59 years on
Corey Street in Fostoria.
She was born Sept. 17, 1909, in
Rudolph, to John and Catherine (Kleman) Eishen. On Aug. 21,
1934, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cygnet, she married
Kenneth Kitchen, who preceded her in death Oct. 17, 1960.
Survivors include: four sons, David
K. and Louis F. Kitchen, both of Fostoria, Dennis E. Kitchen
of Troy, Mich. and James A. Kitchen of Columbus; three daughters,
Mary C. Ellison of Orange, Calif., Rose A. Vogt of Bonita, Calif.
and Angela M. Rentz of Findlay; 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were
four brothers, Charles, John, Franklin and Clarence Eishen;
and two sisters, Elsie Kale and Maggie Eishen.
Mrs. Kitchen, a retired school
teacher, first taught in Edgerton in a one room school house
1929-34. After her husband's death she resumed teaching at St.
Wendelin Elementary School's fourth grade 1961-74.
She earned her teaching certificate
in education from Bowling Green State University.
She also was the co-owner and operator,
with her husband, of Kitchens House of Music in Fostoria for
many years, where Hawaiian Steel Guitar instructions were provided.
She was a member of St. Wendelin
Catholic Church, Fostoria and its Rosary Altar Society; the
Daughters of Isabella and the 55 + Club, where she had served
as president

be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church,
where the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m.. Burial will be
in the parish cemetery.

Stephen J. Kelley, 61, of 516 E.
North St., Fostoria, died at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2000,
at his home.
He was born March 3, 1939, to James
and Lenore (Adams) Kelley. They are deceased. On June 24, 1989
he married Margie Day-Quinlin. She survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son,
Christopher Kelley of Oceanside, Calif.; four stepdaughters,
Kimberly Hill of Augusta, Ky., Lisa Butz of Arcadia, Laura Layman
of Findlay and Tonya Haley of Tiffin; a brother, Richard Kelley
of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Sara Kelley of Findlay and
Ruthann Gagnon of Peachtree City, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were: five
brothers, Joseph, Paul, James, Robert, and a brother in infancy.
Mr. Kelley was a laborer at Seneca
Wire in Fostoria for over 40 years, a member of U.A.W. local
775 and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Findlay.
The Rev. Mark Bowers will officiate
the 1 p.m. Saturday services at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.
Burial will be at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation hours are 2-4 and 7-9
tonight and one hour prior to the services Saturday. The rosary
will be recited at 8:30 tonight.

Former 3341 Baird Road, Fostoria,
resident, Kenneth B. Knox, 87, of 1416 Fostoria Ave., Findlay,
died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2000, in Fostoria Community
Hospital.
He was born in Sweden, N.Y., Feb.
4, 1913, to William and Electa (Buterbaugh) Knox. His wife,
Patricia C. (Lunsford) Knox, whom he married June 30, 1951,
in the First United Methodist Church, Fostoria, survives in
Findlay.
Survivors also include: two sons,
Kenneth A. Knox of Plantation, Fla., and John W. Knox of Ashland;
two daughters, Betsy C. Saddler of Bowling Green and Anita G.
Guzman of Fostoria; a brother, Glen Knox of San Antonio, Texas;
11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a daughter,
Linda K. Knox; two brothers, Donald and William Knox; and a
sister, Helen Fittro.
Mr. Knox, a long-time farmer and
Arabian horse breeder, retired in 1968 after 33 years of service
as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Fostoria. He
also worked at Union Carbide, Fostoria.
A 1931 graduate of Fostoria High
School, he attended Union United Methodist Church, rural Fostoria;
and was a member of Fostoria Elks Lodge 935, Military Order
of the Purple Heart, Disabled American Veterans and the Arabian
Horse Association.
He served in the U.S. Army during
World War II, where he was the recipient of a Purple Heart and
a Bronze Star. He served in Italy, France and Germany.
The Rev. David Bliss and the Rev.
Gus Christo-Baker will be the co-officiants at the 1 p.m. Saturday
service in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment will
be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, where military graveside
rites will be conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria.

Bernice A. Kimes, 89, died at 9:35
p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2000, in St. Catherine's Care Center,
25 Christopher Drive, Fostoria, where she resided.
She was born in Kansas, Ohio, July
15, 1910, to William A. and Sarah Delilah (Finkenbinder) Wolf.
On July 16, 1950, in Fostoria, she married Elwood G. Kimes.
He died Jan. 22, 1999.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Howard
M. "Mike" Kimes of Springfield, Va.; two brothers, Clayton Wolf
of Fostoria and Kenny Wolf of Amsden; three sisters, Leona A.
Fruth of Arcadia, Ida Blanche Barton of Fort Wayne, Ind., and
Evelyn Gray of Grand Rapids; and five grandchildren.
A sister, Thelma "Sunny" Fruth,
also is deceased.
Mrs. Kimes, a homemaker, also taught
home economics at Old Fort High School and worked at the Union
Carbide in Fostoria during World War II.
She was a member of High Street
United Methodist Church and played a major role in the preservation
of the Old Risdon Town Square.
A graduate of Kansas High School,
where she served as class valedictorian, she attended Bowling
Green State University.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev.
Jeffrey Waite officiating. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria.

St., Bettsville, died Friday, March 31, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. King was born Feb. 23, 1956,
to Lyle F. and Elizabeth "Bett" (Barns) King.
He is survived by his father
of Bettsville; two sons, Eric King of Bettsville, Jayvid Opp
of Tiffin; two grandchildren; two brothers, Michael F. of
Green Springs, Jay Dee of Fayetteville, Pa.; and a sister,
Linda Eidenour of Fostoria.
His mother preceded him in death.
A lifetime resident of Bettsville,
he was an independent contractor/merchandiser.

Hazel B. Kessler, 94, formerly
of 33 W. Tiffin St., New Riegel, died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday,
April 11, 2000, in the Ruffing Family Care Center, Tiffin.
She was born April 23, 1905,
in Hancock County, to John E. and Mary A. (Filliater) Williams.
On Sept. 10, 1929, in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown,
she married Charles J. Kessler Sr., who died March 16, 1957.
Surviving are four sons, George
J. Kessler of Republic, Charles Kessler Jr. of Fostoria, Raymond
A. Kessler of New Riegel and Gerald C. Kessler, also of Fostoria;
three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Martha T.) Haubert of Alvada,
Rita M. Lafontaine and Annabelle M. Hemminger, both of New
Riegel; a brother, Paul L. Williams of Fostoria; a sister,
Clara Holman, also of Fostoria; 40 grandchildren, 104 great-grandchildren
and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were
a son, Richard A. Kessler; an infant daughter, Norma Jean;
a grandson, Donald Lafontaine; a granddaughter, Teresa Kessler;
three brothers, John, Gilbert and Clarence Williams; and three
sisters, Oleva Koch, Albertha Reinhart and Viola Tiell.
Mrs. Kessler, a member of the
New Riegel American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, retired in 1965
from the Ford Co. in Fostoria, where she had been employed
since 1948.
She also was a member of St.
Boniface Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society and Women
of the Moose, all of New Riegel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter Catholic Church, Alvada,
with the Rev. Leonard Kistler C.PP.S. and the Rev. Harry Cavanaugh

Opal L. Kathrens, 92, a resident
of the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, formerly of Stinchcomb Drive,
both of Fostoria, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2000,
in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
She was born in Hancock County
Sept. 8, 1907, to Albertis N. and Bertha L. (Hardwick) Rader.
She married Emmett A. Dippelhofer. They were divorced. On May
24, 1950, in Adrian, Mich., she married R. Don Kathrens. He
died July 14, 1987.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.
Ronald (Alberta) Hyte of Fostoria; a stepdaughter, June Lindstrom
of Engelwood, Colo.; two stepsons, Richard Kathrens of Jackson,
Mich., and Neal Kathrens of Findlay; a sister, Cleota Benham
of Findlay; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were
a daughter, Cleah Ellen Dippelhofer, and a sister, Kathryn Traucht.
Mrs. Kathrens, a 1925 graduate
of Findlay High School, was the owner/operator of Kathrens Hardware
in Ottawa Lake, Mich., for more than 27 years, retiring in 1979.
She also worked as an interior
decorator in the Toledo area, retiring in 1985 after 25 years.
She was a member of High Street
United Methodist Church, Fostoria; its Sharing and Caring Group,
Fostoria Ladies Garden Club and the Upbeat Support Group of
Findlay.
She also served as a volunteer
at Fostoria Community Hospital and the Bureau of Concern.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday
in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev.
Jeffrey L. Waite officiating. Burial will be in Arcadia Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9

Brenda Lenz, 56, of Ames Street,
Clyde, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in Bellevue Hospital.
She was born in Fostoria Sept.
23, 1943. Her mother, Twila (Krouse) Tobin, and her step-father,
Frank Tobin, are deceased.
Survivors include: her companion,
Gerald Grassman of Clyde; a son, Tony Lenz of Phoenix, Ariz.;
a grandchild; and five sisters, Vicki La Plante of Cape Giradeau,
Mo., Sandusky O'Connor of Ocala, Fla., Kathryn Tinoco of Utica,
N.Y., and Sylvia Titus and Charlene Ponce, both of Fostoria.
Mrs. Lenz, who received her education
in the Fostoria schools, had been employed as a waitress in
Fremont and Fostoria.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday
in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Interment will
be in Scott-Trinity Cemetery, Risingsun.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m.

UPPER SANDUSKY -- Joseph "Joey"
G. LaValle, 28, of North Eighth Street, Upper Sandusky, died
Monday, May 15, 2000 in a traffic accident on U.S. 30, west
of Upper Sandusky.
He was born March 31, 1972 in
Honolulu, Hawaii to Joseph and Janet Kay (Borkosky) LaValle,
and they survive in Marseilles Township, Upper Sansusky. He
married Rebecca Covert on May 21, 1994, and she also survives.
Other survivors include a sister,
Jennifer LaValle, Fostoria; a maternal grandmother, E. Maxine
Borkosky, Upper Sandusky; and a paternal grandmother, Pauline
(Iannaci) LaValle, Barnegat, N.J.
Mr. LaValle was manager of Applebee's
Restaurant in Lima, and had previously been manager of Applebee's
in Findlay.
He was a 1990 graduate of Upper
Sandusky High School and a 1995 graduate of Tiffin University,
where he received a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant
management. He was a member of Sigma Omega Sigma fraternity
at Tiffin University.
Funeral services will be held
at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky.
Visitation will be held from
7-9 p.m. Wednesday and two hours before services Thursday
at the funeral home.

Gretchen M. Lusk, 97, of Nichols Street,
Fostoria, died at 12:07 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in
the Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born in Gilboa Oct. 21, 1902, to
Ora and Louisa (Burton) Ulrich. In 1921, she married Lee
M. Lusk. He died Feb. 22, 1968.
Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs.
Harold (June) Pelton of Fostoria, Mrs. Louis (Audrey) Kimmet
of Republic and Mrs. Harry (Margie) Slayter of Findlay;

Retired Fostoria teacher
Ed LeForge, 70, of Maysville, Ky., died at
8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2000, in Meadowview Regional Medical
Center, following a battle with cancer.
He was born June 30, 1929, to the late Robert
and Della (Garrett) LeForge. In October 1953, he married Joyce
Scott, who survives in Simon Kenton Acres, Maysville.
Other survivors include: three sons, Christopher
LeForge of Fostoria, Scott LeForge of Akron and Dan LeForge
of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Melody) Whitman,
also of Fostoria; eight grandchildren and three step-grandchildren;
an aunt and numerous nieces and nephews.
A brother, Ronald LeForge, died in 1983.
A 1947 graduate of Maysville High School,
where he was a member of the 1947 state basketball champions,
Mr. LeForge was a member of the Kentucky State All Stars in
the annual game against Indiana.
Also a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College
in 1951, which he attended on a basketball scholarship, he
was a member of its basketball and tennis teams.
Following his college graduation, he served
in the U.S. Air Force for four years and then began his teaching
and coaching career at West Union High School. He also taught
and coached at Aberdeen High School, until the school was
consolidated.
Mr. LeForge and his family moved to Fostoria
where he continued teaching until his retirement in 1984.
He was a member of the Central United Methodist
Church and enjoyed woodworking and furniture building.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the
Central United Methodist Church, Maysville, with Steve Pescosolido
officiating. Burial will follow in Maysville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday in the
Knox and Brothers Funeral Home, Maysville, and one hour prior
to the service Saturday at the church.

Raymond J. Kastner, 92, died at
9:29 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2000, at his home at 187 Fourth Ave.
He was born Feb. 11, 1908, in Tiffin
to Joseph and Margaret (Zaph) Kastner. His wife of 55 years,
Catherine (Ferstler) Kastner, whom he married July 24, 1928,
in St. Mary Church, Tiffin, died Nov. 23, 1983. On Feb. 27,
1987, in St. Mary Church, Tiffin, he married Alice C. Kraft,
who died Jan. 12, 1989.
Survivors include: four daughters,
Mrs. James (Dorothy) Phillips and Mrs. Bernard (Martha) Hohman,
both of Tiffin, Mrs. Thomas (Margaret) Dell of Sherman, Texas,
and Mrs. Robert (Donna) Stever of Fostoria; two stepsons, Pat
Reed and Anthony "Tony" Reed of Parker, Colo.; two brothers,
Paul and George Kastner, both of Tiffin; a sister, Mary Jo Gase
of Tiffin; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren,
four step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild.
A daughter, Ruth Ann; a brother,
William Kastner; and two grandchildren, also are deceased.
Mr. Kastner retired in 1974 as
foreman of both the punch press and chain departments at Webster
Mfg. Co., after 40 years of employment.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic
Church, its Holy Name Society, Allen Eiry Senior Center and
Eagles 402, of which he was a charter member and member of its
drill team.
He was famous for his fish fries,
along with his brother, George.

City, Ind., to Fred R. and Fayette (Ferwalt) Howard. Her husband,
Paul C. Kintz, whom she married Sept. 4, 1937, in St. Wendelin
Catholic Church, Fostoria, died Aug. 13, 1991.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.
Gene (Fayanne) Ochs of Fostoria; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren;
a brother, Henry "Hank" Howard of Fremont; and three sisters,
Madonnna Roberts of Fostoria, Patricia Wolfarth of Tucson, Ariz.
and Margaret Bruce of Columbus.
A sister, Beatrice Ruehle and a
brother, Alex Howard, also are deceased.
Mrs. Kintz had been employed as
a clerk at JC Penney, formerly of Fostoria and owned and operated
Kintz Grocery Store in Fostoria with her husband. She also worked
as a clerk at Town and Country, also of Fostoria.

High School, she was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church
and its Rosary Altar Society, all of Fostoria.

Mr. LyBurtus was born July 14,
1929, in Fostoria to LeRoy and Marie (Peters) LyBurtus. He married
Dorothy Johnson Feb. 14, 1948, in Covington, Ky. who survives
in Fostoria.

Charles R. LyBurtus, Jr. of Los Angeles, and Darrin L. LyBurtus
of Fostoria; two daughters, Linda M. Roberts of Cleveland, and
Marsha E. LyBurtus of Findlay; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;

He was preceded in death by: a

Porters Dry Cleaners where he became owner and operator from

in 1992, where he had worked since 1978.

Surviving are two daughters, Janet

Mr. LeComte, a research chemist

She was born June 16, 1912, in
Wood County, to Benjamin and Mabel (Fry) Haughawout. Her husband,
Henry Knierim, whom she married in Wauseon, died April 18, 1967.

Haughawout of Monroeville, Mich. and Wallace Haughawout of Fostoria;
and a grandchild.

Her husband, Albert L. Karcher, whom she married Jan. 2, 1941,
in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Alvada, survives.

(Rose Marie) Miller of Dunkirk; seven grandchildren and eight

Mrs. Karcher, a homemaker, also
worked as a teacher's aide and cook at Forest Elementary School

caretakers of Jackson Township cemeteries and roads for 13 years.
and she helped on the family farm.
She was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church, Kirby and its Rosary Altar Society and served
as a former parish council member and lay minister.
She also was a member of the Wyandot
Memorial Hospital Guild, Wyandot County Senior Citizens, where
she was involved in fund-raising projects, the Farmers Union,
Local AARP Chapter and the Farm Bureau Council
She was a past member of the Happy
Harvest Council Group, a Red Cross blood donor; was awarded,
by the State of Ohio, for extraordinary volunteer service to
her community and was awarded, by the Ohio House of Representatives,
as an Outstanding Senior Citizen for Wyandot County for the
Area Agency on Aging Inc. Mrs. Karcher visited nursing homes
and housebound residents and provided transportation to those
in need.
An avid baseball fan, she enjoyed
playing cards, the Wyandot County Fair, traveling, and baking.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kirby,
with the Rev. James Holmer as celebrant. Interment will be in
St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Carey.

was born July 21, 1918, to Gerald and Lucille (Kauffman) Wallace.
On May 25, 1935, she married Elmo L. Lytle. He died Jan. 20,
1969.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.
Joyce Lind of Wallbridge, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Mrs. Lytle was a member of the
St. Wendelin Catholic Church.

a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2000 at his residence.
He was born June 9, 1930 in Lebanon,
Pa. to Arthur E. and Mary A. (Kershner) Kennedy. He married
Phyllis J. Bibler on Feb. 3, 1957, in Findlay with U.S. Rep.
Tennison Guyer officiating the ceremony, and she survives.

William A. of Findlay; and Thomas G. of Fostoria; a daughter,
Mrs. Ronald (Debra) Mahnick, Beaver, Pa.; 13 grandchildren;

Mr. Kennedy retired in 1984 as
Fire Chief for the City of Findlay, after 25 years of service.
He joined the department in 1959, and as captain served as
Findlay Fire Marshall from 1970-73. He was appointed to Chief
in 1973, serving 11 years in that position. He also was a
former Trade & Industries instructor, teaching fire school
to most Hancock County Fire Departments.
Mr. Kennedy served in the U.S.
Merchant Marines from 1948-49.
He was a member of Ohio Fire
Chief's Association, First Christian Church, Police and Fire
Retirees of Ohio, Findlay Lions Club and Loyal Order of the
Moose 698.
He was a former member of Findlay
Jaycees, served on committees that formed the Ohio Fire Academy,
and was a former course developer for the academy.

He was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Fostoria,
to Patrick and Catherine (Lemm) Ledwedge. His wife, Mary A.
(Colatruglio) Ledwedge, whom he married April 27, 1940, in St.
Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, survives.

Mrs. Robert (Katie) Gosche of Fostoria, Patrick J. Ledwedge
of McCutchenville, Mrs. David (Francine) Ritzler and Mrs. William

having served in the Philippines and Japan, he attained the
rank of staff sergeant.
He attended St. Wendelin High School,
Fostoria and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom,
where he served as a Eucharistic minister for many years; the
former Holy Name Society and the Third Order of St. Francis.
A Catechist certified in basic
and advanced C.C.D. teaching, Mr. Ledwedge taught classes for
23 years at St. Patrick, St. Andrew, Liberty; St. Stevens, Republic
and Rock of Ages in Hawaii. He also worked as a teacher's aide
in the St. Wendelin Schools.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30
a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick Catholic Church, with con-celebrants
the Rev. Art Niewiadomski and the Rev. Richard Dunn. The rosary
will be recited at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial

BASCOM -- Raymond C. Lang, 72,
of Poplar Street, Bascom, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000
at his residence.
He was born Feb. 9, 1928 in Wood
County to Arthur and Theresa (Filliater) Lang. He married Ellen
Atkins on June 30, 1951 in Carey, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons,
Bruce R. of Tiffin; Mark A. of Fostoria; and Christopher L.
of Bascom; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Suzette) Baker, Fostoria;
five grandchildren; five brothers, Gilbert of Fostoria; Norbert

and four sisters, Helen Fleck, Hollywood, Fla.; Pauline Lang,

in 1990 after 30 years of employment. He also worked at Meadowbrook
Park in Bascom, retiring in February 2000 after 49 years.
He served in the U.S. Army after
World War II. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church,
Bascom; and Fostoria Eagles Club.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated
at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Art Niewiadomski
officiating. Burial will be in Sand Ridge Cemetery, Bascom.
Visitation will be held from 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria,
where a scripture service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Columbia Gas retiree
Floyd H. Kagy, 84, of CR 60, Fostoria,
died at 8:20 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Kagy was born Dec. 12, 1915,
to Stephen and Mary E. (DeVore) Kagy. He married Clara E. Baker
April 6, 1947, in Belmore, and she survives along with the following:
a son, Floyd H. Kagy Jr. of Wisconsin; a daughter, Alyce Guernsey
of Fostoria; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a
brother, Serge Kagy of Bluffton.
A daughter, Mary Stewart; a grandson,
Jamie Bennett; four brothers, John, Ray, Lawrence and Leonard
Kagy; five sisters, Iva Bryan, Imo Varner, Dorotha Schweitzer,
Nina Harmon and Florence Briggs are deceased.
He was a 1933 graduate of Crawfis
College High School, Gillboa; a U.S. Army Veteran of World War
II; retired from Columbia Gas Company, Fostoria, in 1983, after
25 years of employment; and a member of the Union United Church
of Christ, Bascom.
Funeral service will be at 1:30
p.m. Monday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria,
with the Rev. James Michaels officiating. Burial will be in
Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation is 1-4 p.m. Sunday at
the funeral home.

Joanne M. Lannen, 77, of 412 Glenview
Dr., Fostoria, died at 3:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, in Fostoria
Community Hospital.
She was born Aug. 31, 1923, in
Fostoria to Otto and Adaline (Martin) Huth. She married Richard
M. Lannen on Oct. 4, 1947, in St. Wendelin's Catholic Church
and he survives.
Also surviving are: two daughters,
Vicki Lannen of Fostoria and Mrs. Stephen (Terri) Reinhart of
Bascom; and two granddaughters.
Mrs. Lannen was a 1941 graduate
of St. Wendelin High School; attend Tiffin University; was a
member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and its Rosary-Altar
Society and the Daughters of Isabella.
A Rosary will be recited at 10
a.m. Monday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church followed by the
Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 with burial in St. Wendelin
Parish Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Rosary will
be recited at 8:30 p.m.

Staff Sgt. U.S. Army-retired
Glenn E. "Skip" Limes, 67, of North
Main Street, Fostoria, died at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16,
2000, in Heartland of Perrysburg.
He was born April 7, 1933, in Toledo,
to the late Cloyce and Dorothy (Benton) Limes.
Surviving are: a brother, Lloyd
Limes of Palm Springs, Calif.; four sisters, Mary Hampshire
of Fostoria, Dorothy Sniegowski and Emma Jean Spratt, both of
Toledo and Wilma Bailey of National City, Calif.
Mr. Limes retired in 1973 as a
Staff Sergeant from the U.S. Army, after 23 years of service.

Violet B. Linneman-Davis, 87, of
Main Street, Montezuma, Ohio, died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.
19, 2000, in the Independence House, Fostoria.
She was born April 26, 1913, in
Ansonia, Ohio, to Frank and Clara (Murray) Birt. On April 1,
1937, she married Vernon L. Linneman, who preceded her in death
May 4, 1978. She later married Louis A. Davis on Oct. 29, 1982,
and he died Sept. 20, 1992.
Survivors include: a daughter,
Mrs. Thomas (Connie) Hoening of Fostoria; two grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lovell Birt of West
Jefferson and Doyle Birt of Coldwater; and two sisters, Mary
K. Smalley and Patty Fleck, both of Celina.
A sister, Thelma Ott, also preceded
her in death.
A homemaker, Mrs. Davis was a member
of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, with
the Rev. James Dugal C.PP.S. and the Rev. Ronald Wilker as con-celebrants.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8
p.m. Friday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian
wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also will take

Sylvester C. "Sy" Lanning, 85,
of Van Buren Street, Fostoria, died at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.
19, 2000, in the Toledo Hospital.
He was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Kansas,
Ohio, to Charles and Ollie (Luman) Lanning. He first married
Vera Detillian, who died in October 1971. His second wife, Hallie
Lanning, died in 1982.
Surviving are three daughters,
Mrs. Robert (Elsie) Gillespie of Delphos, Carol Rinehart and
Mrs. Clyde (Sharon) Kimble, both of Fostoria; a sister, Bertha
Reinhart of Kansas; 14 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren
and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were
three sisters, Ella Mae Nye, Jenny Belle Hillebrand and Martha
Merkle; a grandson and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lanning, retired in 1984 as
a carpenter and millwright in Toledo, where he had been employed
for 25 years. Prior to that he was employed at Union Carbide
in Fostoria for 20 years.
An avid woodworker, he also made
and repaired musical interments.
Pastor Keith Davis will conduct
the 1 p.m. Friday service in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home,
Fostoria. Burial will be in Knollcrest Memorial Gardens, near
Arcadia.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Retired nurse
Lucille M. Lonsway, 89, of Fostoria,
died at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, in the Independence
House, Fostoria.
She was born June 17, 1911, in
New Riegel, to Aurelius C. and Clara P. (Weinandy) Klein. Her
husband, Ernest J. Lonsway, whom she married Feb. 14, 1933,
in St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, died Aug. 30, 1990.
Surviving are a son, Gerard E.
Lonsway of Oregon, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren;
two brothers, Paul Klein of Toledo and George Klein of Greenville,
S.C.; and a sister, Helen Rose Atchley of Battle Creek, Mich.
Also deceased are a son, Robert
E.; two brothers, Harold and Charles Klein; and a half sister,
Evelyn Buzzell.
Mrs. Lonsway's career included
nursing positions at Fostoria City Hospital, Mercy Hospital
in Toledo and Tiffin and home nursing assignments in the Fostoria
area. She also assisted efforts in helping her husband with
new business ventures.
A 1932 graduate of Mercy School
of Nursing, Toledo, she was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic
Church, Fostoria, its Rosary Altar Society, the Daughters of
Isabella, Catholic Nurses, and past president of the Circle
of Mercy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where
the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m.. Burial will be in St.
Boniface Parish Cemetery, New Riegel.
Visitation is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.
