Carl R. Chancey Sr., 74, of East
Eagle Street, Fostoria, died in Fostoria Community Hospital
11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 1999.
Born Dec. 22, 1924, in Athens County,
to Alfred and Letha (Neff) Chancey, he married Clara M. Brochsmith,
Aug. 25, 1950, in Gibsonburg. She survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son,
Carl Chancey Jr. of Fostoria; two step-sons, Jerry and Jack
Thorp, both of Fostoria; a step-daughter, Audrey Braden of Gibsonburg;
a brother, Jack E. Chancey of Fostoria; a sister, Virginia Hogue
of Millfield; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 14
step-grandchildren; and 29 step-great-grandchildren.
A sister and four brothers also
preceded him in death.
Mr. Chancey retired in 1987 from
the Roppe Rubber Co., Fostoria, where he had been employed for
29 years.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday
in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will
be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.

Evelyn Marie Cranch
Retired Fostoria City school teacher
Evelyn Marie Cranch, 80, died at
12:40 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in the Good Shepherd Nursing
Home, 725 Columbus Ave., Fostoria, where she was a resident.
She was born in Fostoria, July
31, 1918, the daughter of John P. and Hazel (Cochard) Myers.
In 1964, in Fostoria, she married George E. Cranch, who died
in 1986.
A sister, Mrs. Dale (Geraldine)
Kuhlman, survives in Perrysburg.
Mrs. Cranch, a World War II U.S.
Nurses Cadet Corp. veteran, retired in 1975 as a teacher from
the Fostoria City Schools, having taught at Holmes and Lowell
School for 18 years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian
Church, Fostoria; Fostoria Ladies Garden Club, Fostoria Area
Historical Society, the National Herb Society and the Sandusky
Valley Amateur Astronomy Club, where she was a life member.
Mrs. Cranch also held various offices
in the American Red Cross and worked for many years with the
Blood Bank.
The Rev. R. Edson Reed will be
the officiant at the 2 p.m. Saturday service in the First Presbyterian
Church.
There will be no visitation. The
Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of arrangements.

Mabel F. Crawford, 89, formerly
of Circle Drive, Fostoria, died at 3:55 a.m. Saturday, Feb.
6, 1999, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria, where
she resided.
Born April 17, 1909, in Adrian,
Ohio, to Minor and Bertha (Meeker) Crumrine, she married Gerald
Crawford, March 3, 1934, in Wheeling, W.Va. He died May 17,
1973.
Survivors include: a son, Karl
Crawford of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. John (Diane) Jackman
of Richmond, Mass.; a sister, Myrtle Dible of Adrian; two grandchildren
and a great-grandchild.
A brother, Karl Crumrine, also
is deceased.
Mrs. Crawford, a homemaker, retired
in 1969 as a school teacher from the Fostoria City School System,
where she had been employed for 18 years.
She was a member of High Street
United Methodist Church, Fostoria and a founding member of its
Berean Group, of which she had been a member for more than 50
years. She received a citation from the International Order
of Kings Daughters celebrating her 50 year membership in the
Silver Star Circle. She also was a 50-year member of the Pathfinders,
all of the church.
A 1926 graduate of Carey High School
and a 1932 graduate of Bowling Green State College with a two
year degree in elementary eduation, she later received her bachelor's
degree in education from BGSU in 1965.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday
in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev.
James T. Mussman officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens,
near Arcadia.
Visiation at the funeral home will
be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Avenue, Fostoria, died at 7:03 a.m. Monday, March 22, 1999,

Donald O. Coughenour Sr.
Atlas Crankshaft retiree
Donald O. Coughenour Sr., 66, of
206 E. High St., Fostoria, died there Monday morning, April
12, 1999.
He was born Sept. 29, 1932, in
Toledo, to the late Owen E. and Frances (Helmstetter) Coughenour.
His wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Furillo) Coughenour, whom he married
May 16, 1953, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hubbard, died
March 29, 1994.
Survivors include: a son, Donald
O. Coughenour Jr. of Findlay; two daughters, Mary K. Coughenour
and Mrs. William (Debora) Podach, both of Fostoria; an adopted
son, Robert Furillo of Youngstown; six grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Gates of Tucson, Ariz.;
his fiance, Helen Pratt of Defiance; and his future family of
four daughters and six grandchildren.
Two sisters, Catherine E. Powers
and Barbara A. Waltermeyer, are deceased.
Mr. Coughenour worked for Seneca
Wire in Fostoria, Republic Steel in Youngstown, New York Central
Railroad, Ex-Cello Corp. in Fostoria as a foreman and retired
in 1987 from Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria, after 24 years as a
safety coordinator and personnel administrator.
He also worked as an independent
painter 1987-90 and as a human resource and safety specialist
for Cascade Kenhar, Findlay.
A 1950 graduate of St. Wendelin
High School, he attended Bowling Green State University and
was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria; a former
member of Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree, Fostoria;
and a former member of Exchange Club and St. Wendelin Home and
School Association, where he served as president in 1966 and
held many other school and church organizational positions and
as an activity leader.
An avid Mohawk fan, he was a former
member of the Fostoria Athletic Boosters, Junior Achievement,
Boy Scout Troop 450, where he served as a Scout Master from
1960 to current United Way representative, and the Fostoria
Footlighters and its board of directors.
Mr. Coughenour received the Distinguished
Service Award of U.S. Jaycees in 1966 and the Outstanding Young
Men of American Award in 1968. He was a member of the Human
Resource Affiliates Group, where he chaired the Tall Timbers
Industrial Park Scholarship Committee.
A funeral Mass will be 11 a.m.
Thursday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where the Rosary will
be recited at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation at the Hoening Funeral
Home, Fostoria, is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and at the funeral
home one hour before the service on Thursday. A Christian Wake
service will be at 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Eleanor F. Fertig-Crosby, 83, died
at 7:47 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at her residence on
McCutchenville Road, Fostoria.
She was born in Cleveland May 8,
1915, to George and Lucille (Stanke) Fertig. Her husband, Harry
E. Crosby, whom she married June 23, 1936, in Cleveland, died
Nov. 19, 1986.
Survivors include: four sons, Harry
Crosby of Alta Loma, Calif., Tom Crosby of Cassopolis, Mich.,
James Crosby of Arcadia and Richard Crosby of Findlay; six daughters,
Mrs. Richard (Betty) Armon of Iler, Mrs. William (Clara) Renninger
of Leyman, S.C., Mrs. Lowell (Jane) Griffin of Alvada, Mrs.
Walter (Helen) Kleman of Columbus Grove, Ellen Lowery of Fostoria
and Kathy Crosby of Bowling Green; a brother, Elmer Fertig of
Independence; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Zepher Hills, Fla.,
and Marjorie Fertig of Lorain; 30 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, a sister and two
grandchildren also are deceased.
Mrs. Crosby, a former cook at the
Wigwam Restaurant, also was a homemaker.
A 1933 graduate of Independence
High School, Independence, Ohio, she was a member of Union United
Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women and WSCS.
The Rev. Guss Christo-Baker will
be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Saturday service in the Harrold-Floriana
Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria.

St., Rising Sun, died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 1999, in
the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.
She was born in Rising Sun Aug.
22, 1927, to Carl and Gladys (Shesely) Wells. Her husband, Harold
R. Carr, died May 13, 1996.
Surviving are: a son, Larry E.
Carr of Middletown; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A brother, Kenneth O. Wells and
three sisters, Pauline and Betty Wells and Lillian Woodland,
are deceased.
Mrs. Carr retired in 1977 as an
assembler at AlliedSignal, Fostoria, where she had been employed
for 30 years.

Opal Kathryn Cassidy, 76, of 715
W. North St., Fostoria, died Wednesday afternoon, June 16, 1999
at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center. She was born May
30, 1923, to Albert A. and Bertha L. (Nau) Heinze. On Oct. 14,
1950 she married Casper "Cap" J. Cassidy in St. Wendelin Church.
He died Sept. 6, 1983.
Survivors include: two sons, Gregory
J. Cassidy of Findlay and Mark E. Cassidy of Fostoria; a daughter,
Carol Ann Reese of Clinton Township, Mich.; a sister, Maxine
Edgerton of Tiffin; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren;
and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a
brother, Harold Heinze, and two sisters, Velma Beamer-Lawless,
and Marie Garn.
Mrs. Cassidy was a homemaker, member
of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and its Rosary-Altar Society,
and a graduate of Arcadia High School.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:30
a.m. Saturday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial
will be at St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.

Retired Coppus Motors owner
Harry D. Coppus Jr., 84, died at
6:45 p.m. Monday, June 28, 1999, in Autumnwood Care Center,
where he had resided since December 1992.
He was born Jan. 3, 1915, in Loudon
Township, rural Seneca County, to Harry D. Sr. and Lulu (Woessner)
Coppus. His wife, Jennie-Belle (Campbell) Coppus, whom he married
June 7, 1948, in Tiffin, survives.
Other survivors include: a son,
John C. Coppus of Tiffin; two daughters, Mrs. Kirby (Sara) Ortiz
of Boise, Idaho, and Barbara M. Coppus of Hastings on the Hudson,
N.Y.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Charles (Ruby)
Essman of Fostoria.
Mr. Coppus, a 1933 Fostoria High
School graduate, retired as the owner of Coppus Motors. He also
attended Heidelberg College.
He was a member of Trinity United
Church of Christ, Tiffin Lodge 77 Free and Accepted Masons,
Seneca Chapter 42 RAM, Clinton Council 47, DeMolay Commandery
9, where he served as past commander; Ancient Accepted Scottish
Rite Valley of Toledo, Zenobia Shrine, Tiffin Shrine and the
Tiffin Hornets, of which he was a charter member.
He was a former member of the Tiffin
Rotary Club, Tiffin Elks Club, Mercedes-Bentz Club of America,
National Auto Dealers Association, Ohio Auto Dealers Association,
Nash Car Club, Studebaker Drivers Club and the United Commercial
Travelers.
He taught Army and Navy pilots
for four years during World War II and later worked as a crop
duster in Texas before returning to the automobile business
in Tiffin.
Memorial services will be at 11
a.m. Friday in Trinity United Church of Christ, with the Rev.
William Smith officiating.
Visitation at the Turner-Engle

in Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born in Leopold, Ind., the
son of William Edgar and Mary Ellen (Peter) Cassidy. His wife,
Helen R. (Scherger) Cassidy, whom he married April 12, 1947,
in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, survives in New Riegel.
Other survivors include: two brothers,
Norbert Cassidy of Tiffin and James Cassidy of Fostoria; and
five sisters, Mrs. Robert (Connie) Steinmetz of Pemberville,
Mrs. Franklin (Bernice) Holman, Mrs. Donald (Irene) Holman and
Miss Marjorie Cassidy, all of Fostoria and Mrs. Eugene (Rosalie)
Holman of Findlay.
A brother, Mathias Cassidy, is
deceased.
Mr. Cassidy, who attended Arcadia
School, retired as a millwright in 1986 from AlliedSignal, Fostoria,
after 39 years.
He was a member of St. Boniface
Catholic Church, New Riegel, New Riegel American Legion and
the Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council 1197, Fostoria.
A World War II U.S. Army veteran,
he also was a member of the Fostoria Vagabond camping group
and a former member of the square dance group "Swinging Satellites."

Leonard Kistler C.PP.S. as celebrant. The rosary will be recited

Beatrice M. Cox, 93, of East Fremont
Street, Fostoria, died at 12:55 p.m. Friday, July 23, 1999,
at the St. Catherines Care Center, Fostoria.
She was born May 10, 1906, in Carey
to Robert F. and Viola A. (Boyce) Phillips. On Sept. 25, 1942,
she married Vernon E. Cox in Napoleon. He died Dec. 25, 1973.
Surviving are a son, Earl E. Cox
of Findlay; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. In addition
to her husband, she was preceded in death by: two brothers,
James E. and John D. Phillips; six sisters, Mary P. Gilliland,
Laura B. Breitigam, Nellie E. Martin, Alice J. Berry, Ethel
I. Smith and Frances Pressler.
Mrs. Cox had been employed as a
licensed practical nurse at the Fostoria City Hospital, retiring
in 1976 after over 11 years of employment. She was a member
of the High Street United Methodist Church; Fostoria Member
of the Pathfinders Sunday School Class; United Methodist Women;
Naomi Circle; a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary;
American Association of Retired Persons; Fostoria Senior Citizens;
Fostoria Women's Club; Shepherd Center Adventures in Learning;
Florence Nightengale Retired Nurses Organization; St. Catherines
Care Center Auxiliary; an American Red Cross volunteer; and
had helped in the Community Sharing Kitchen.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday
at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria with the Rev.
Jeffrey L. Waite officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Grove
Cemetery in Carey.

He was born in Findlay, Aug. 27,
1938, the son of Elmer and Mary (Russell) Cupp. His mother survives
in Fostoria. His wife, Lois Ann (Wilkinson) Cupp, whom he married
July 2, 1977, in the First Lutheran Church, Tiffin, survives
in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son,
Aaron C. Cupp of Tacoma, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Laurie
Ann) Rohrer of Indiana; two brothers, Robert R. and David C.
Cupp, both of Fostoria; three sisters, Mrs. Dan (Linda) Bethel,
Mrs. Terry (Mary Ann) Beam and Mrs. Thomas (Rita) Arend, all
of Fostoria; and five grandchildren.
His father is deceased.
Mr. Cupp, a 1958 graduate of Vanlue
High School, was employed as a press operator for more than
25 years at Centrex Corp. in Findlay.
An avid music and motorcycle lover,
he attended the First Christian Church and was a member of Moose
Lodge 1567, both of Fostoria; Gold Wing Touring Association,
Findlay; the Golden Eagles, Fostoria, where he served as president;
the Northwest Motorcycle Association and the American Motorcycle
Association.
The Rev. Bertie Dell will be the
officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday service in the Mann-Hare
Funeral Home, Fostoria. Entombment will be in Seneca Memory
Gardens Mausoleum, Tiffin.

Former Fostoria resident, Floyd
C. Coleman, 90, a resident of St. Francis Home, died Tuesday,
Aug. 3, 1999, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
He was born in New Riegel, April
21, 1909, to Stephen and Theresa B. (Frederick) Coleman.
Surviving are four sisters, Ida
Bentz of Fostoria, Fredricka Wagner of New Riegel, Zita Wickiser
of Arcadia and Bea Morrison of Tiffin; and a brother, Kenneth
Coleman of Wapakoneta.
Also preceding him in death were
seven brothers, Lawrence, Clarence, Edmund, Stephen, Silverius,
William and Francis Coleman; and two sisters, Angeline Bentz
and Viola Dickens.
Mr. Coleman, a World War II U.S.
Army veteran, retired in 1974 from the Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria.
He also was a lifelong Seneca County farmer.
He was a former member of St. Wendelin
Catholic Church, Fostoria; and St. Boniface Catholic Church,
New Riegel American Legion, Moose Lodge 872 and the Catholic
Knights of Ohio, all of New Riegel.

will be recited at 10:10 a.m. Burial will be in parish cemetery,
where military honors will be conducted at the graveside by
New Riegel American Legion.

St., Fostoria, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, in the
Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo.
He was born in Fostoria, July 23,
1952, the son of Carl T. and Daisy E. (Culp) Cole. His mother
survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include four brothers,
Carl L. Cole of Oscoda, Mich., and Curtis K., Chris A. and Clark
W. Cole, all of Fostoria.
His father is deceased.
Mr. Cole, a member of the Sportsman
Club, was employed as a cook at the Fostoria Elks Lodge, of
which he was a member.
Also employed at the United Sportsman
of Fostoria, he had formerly worked as a cook in Nashville,
Tenn.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday
in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Branson
J. Hawkes officiating. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria.

FOSTORIA -- Margaret Ellen Cavey-Brock,
72, of 725 Columbus Ave., Fostoria, died at 9:05 a.m. Friday,
Sept. 17, 1999, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born June 11, 1927, in
Glouster to Jefferson L. and Celesta B. (Millhoan) Hogue. She
married Robert H. Cavey in March 1947, and he died Dec. 16,
1979. She married Wayman C. Brock in September 1980, and they
were divorced.
Surviving are two sons, Charles
W. and Robert L. Cavey, both of Fostoria; two daughters, Mary
Hemmerly, Findlay; Mrs. Tom (Lola) Tyson, Fostoria; 25 grandchildren;
and 45 great grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death
by four brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Cavey-Brock was a homemaker.

10:30 a.m. Monday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev.
Dale Neller officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery,

She was born in Arcadia, May 25,
1911, to Albert and Lillian (Reed) Churtz. On Oct. 21, 1929,
in Fostoria, she married Leland Cribbs, who died Aug. 30, 1984.
Survivors include: cousins Marian
and Terry Perkins of Castalia; and friends.
Mrs. Cribbs, a homemaker, attended
Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria. She was a charter
member of the Fostoria Emblem Club.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday

Charlotte ''Sherry'' Damon, 56,
of West Fourth Street, Fostoria, died in Blanchard Valley Regional
Medical Center, Findlay, at 7:50 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 1999.
She was born in Findlay, June 12,
1942, to Raymond and Mary Lou (Dindle) Mitchell. Her mother
survives in Findlay. On April 16, 1966, in Findlay, she married
Larry K. Damon, who survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: two brothers,
Michael and Steve Mitchell, both of Findlay.
Her father is deceased.
Mrs. Damon, a 1960 graduate of

Cora J. Davis, 77, of Union Street,
Fostoria, died at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 1999, in Blanchard
Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
She was born in Celina, Sept. 8,
1921, to Clifford and Martha (White) Mcilroy. Her husband, Thomas
W. Davis, whom she married Dec. 23, 1939, in Jacksonville, Ohio,
died March 28, 1979.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.
Thomas (Deborah) Sheets of Fostoria; a brother, Clifford "Junior"
Mcilroy of Toledo; a sister, Claudia Dyer of Fostoria; and two
grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were
two brothers, Bevon Sr. and Lyle Painter; and four sisters,
Clarice Mahaney, Naomia "Sis" Cantwil, Erma Hawkins and Edith
Grant.
Mrs. Davis, a homemaker, also was
the owner/operator of Geena's Dress Shop in Fostoria.
She also was an active Campfire
leader in Fostoria.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment
will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Mary A. Dowdy, 66, of East Tiffin
Street, Fostoria, died at 11:02 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 1999,
in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born April 2, 1933, in
Tiffin, to Robert C. and Gertrude A. (Wise) Morehart. Her mother,
now Gertrude A. Schatzinger, survives in Gibsonburg. She first
married Charles Warf in 1955, and they were divorced. Her second
husband, Harold E. Dowdy, whom she married Aug. 22, 1975, in
Tiffin, survives.
Other survivors include: two sons,
Charles Warf Jr. of St. Clairsville and Boyd Warf of Marion;
a daughter, Mrs. Harvey (Anna) Smith of Sycamore; a step-son,
Joseph Dowdy of California; three brothers, Charles E. Morehart
of Bucyrus, Samuel E. Morehart of Findlay and Carl W. Morehart
of Bellevue; five sisters, Pearl M. Bare of Tiffin, Nancy L.
Shaull of Findlay, Iola Haugh of McLean, Ark., Cora B. Garven
of Kissamee, Fla., and Ada L. Rock of Fostoria; and three grandchildren.
Her father is deceased.
Mrs. Dowdy retired in 1981 from
Cooper Engineer Products in Bowling Green, after 10 years of
employment.
She was a member of Fostoria Eagles
and VFW Auxiliaries and the Ladies of the Moose, Tiffin.
The Rev. Donald Goodwin will be
the officiant at the 11 a.m. Thursday service in the Harrold-Floriana
Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery,
near Bettsville.

Larry K. Damon

Larry K. Damon, 59, of West Fourth
St., Fostoria, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at 12:02 p.m. in
the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo. He was born August 26,
1939 in Toledo to Kenneth and Lela (Dysinger) Damon. On April
16, 1966, he married Charlotte 'Cherrie' Mitchell who died January
4, 1999.
Surviving are two aunts, Iona Jamison
of California and Nadine Burnett of
Bellville;a cousin, Jean Jacobs
of Toledo; nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Damon, a forklift operator
at Excel Logistics in Fostoria, was a member of the Kingdom
Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Fostoria. He graduated in 1958
from Fostoria High School and was a United States Army veteran.
Andrew Veres will officiate at
the 11 a.m., Monday, March 15, 1999, services at the Harrold-Floriana
Funeral Home, with burial at Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria.

Alton G. Drew, 77, of 1707 Walnut
St., Fostoria, formerly of 1076 Carrie Lane, Fostoria, died
at 9:50 a.m., Friday, April 16, 1999. He was born March 4, 1922,
to Roscoe and Florence (Brandberry) Drew.
Surviving include five sisters,
Betty Baker, Marjorie Burns, Joan Simpkins, Barbara Schubert,
and LaDonna Burns, all of Tiffin and Mrs. Warren (Della) Overly
of Fostoria.
Preceded in death were: three brothers,
Charles, Earl, and Edward Drew; and a sister, Nancy Drew.
The funeral service will be at
11 a.m. Monday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial
will be at Weaver Cemetery.

Philomena C. "Fanny" DiCesare,
71, of 115 E. High St., Fostoria, died in the Fostoria Community
Hospital at 5:48 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 1999.
She was born in Fostoria Jan. 22,
1928, to Angelo and Angelina (Bruno) DiCesare.
Surviving are a brother, Peter
A. DiCesare of Fostoria; and three sisters, Mary J. and Julia
A. DiCesare and Loretta "Poppie" Groves, all of Fostoria.
Two brother, Luigi "Louis" and
Julius "Frank" DiCesare, also are deceased.
Miss DiCesare, a 1946 graduate
of St. Wendelin High School, Fostoria, retired from the Tiffin
Kmart. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.

Delbert F. Durst, 41, of 2488 CR
80, Burgoon, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 1999.
He was born April 10, 1958, to
Vernon H. and Helen (Gillig) Durst in Fostoria. He never married.
Survivors include: his parents;
three brothers, Daniel R. of Fostoria, Duane A. of Kansas and
Doyle B. of Bettsville; one sister, Dayna M. Durst at home.
A brother, Douglas L., preceded
him in death.
Mr. Durst was a 1977 Lakota High
School graduate; worked with D & D Hauling, a family business;
was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Millersville;
Fostoria Eagles; and Fostoria United Sportsman Club.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Thursday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Millersville with
the Rev. Ted Miller, assisted by Deacon George Miller, officiating.

CAREY -- Jean Doran, 68, of 7440
S. County Road 591, Carey, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16,
1999 at her residence.
She was born Oct. 25, 1931 in Upper
Sandusky to Vincent L. and Constance E. (Orians) Arnold. She
married James Charles Doran on April 7, 1951 in Carey and he
survives.
Also surviving are a son, Daniel
of Fostoria; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Sandra) Scherger,
Whitehouse; Mrs. Robert (Suzann) Bodart, Fostoria; Mrs. Gregory
(Carol) Siebenaller, Bascom; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs.
Robert (Ruth) Frisch, Tiffin; and three brothers, David and
Carl Arnold, both of Tiffin; Paul Arnold, Carey.
She was preceded in death by three
infant sons, Anthony, James and John.
Mrs. Doran was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Nicholas
Catholic Church, Frenchtown. She was a 1949 graduate of Carey
High School. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, Eucharistic
Ministries and taught religious education.
She was a member of the Farm Bureau,
J.T.C. Club, Seneca County Election Board and active in the
Cursillo.
She hosted three exchange students
from Youth for Understanding and hosted one child through Catholic
Charities of Toledo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Conrad
Sutter officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 7-9
p.m. Thursday, and 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Stombaugh Memorial
Funeral Home, Carey.

SUE C. DANIELS
Former Fostoria School Employee
Funeral services for Sue C. Daniels,
62, of 325 W. Hardin St., will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Coldren-Crates
Funeral Home, the Rev. Darrell Prichard officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2-5
and 7-9 p.m. today, and 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Daniels died early Tuesday
morning, Nov. 16, 1999 at her home.
She was born Nov. 13, 1937 in Springfield
to Charles L. and Elizabeth M. (Hughes) Swanton.
Surviving are three sons, Brian
of Roanne, Ind.; David of Fostoria; Martin of Snoqualmie, Wash.;
a daughter, Sue Daniels, Norfolk, Va.; six grandchildren; and
three stepgrandchildren.
Mrs. Daniels was a retired teacher,
having taught at Vanlue High School for a year, and at the Fostoria
High School cooperative office extension from 1971-88. She was
also head of the business department and junior class advisor
there. She recently was a real estate agent with Action Business
Brokerage and Services in Findlay.
She was a member of the Episcopal
Church, Ohio Education Association and the Findlay Area Chamber
of Commerce, giving tours of Findlay to perspective new businesses.
She was a member of the Hancock
County Board of Realtors and Community Improvements Committee
of Fostoria Chamber of Commerce, and served as secretary of
Uniserv.
She worked for No-We-Oh Council
of Camp Fire Girls, was a former Cub Scout den mother, a Little
Miss Softball coach and belonged to several bridge clubs.
She belonged to Friends of the
Findlay-Hancock County Public Library. She led a support group
for cancer survivors, Can-Surmount, in conjunction with the
Hancock County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
She was a 1955 graduate of Springfield
High School and a 1970 graduate of Bowling Green State University.
From 1986-88 she organized a civil
class action called the Neighborhood Environmental Action Concerns
Committee. This resulted in stricter pollution enforcement for
Centrex Corp. to benefit residents in the western portion of
Findlay.

Fostoria Industries retiree
Cozetta M. Daring, 77, died at
3:10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at her residence at 804 W.
North St., Fostoria.
She was born in Fostoria Jan. 29,
1922, to Frank Rader and Alta Mae (Paugh) Rader Cardwell. Her
husband, Kenneth L. Daring, who she married June 30, 1978, in
the First Christian Church, Fostoria, survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son,
Jack K. Walker Jr. of Dayton; two stepsons, David Daring of
Findlay and Michael Daring of Carey; three sisters, Mrs. William
(Garlyn) Saldausky and Phyllis Richard, both of Fostoria, and
Mrs. Lewis (LaDonna) Arnold of Tiffin; three granddaughters,
two great-granddaughters and three step-grandchildren.
Mrs. Daring, a member of Eagles
Auxiliary 430 and Ladies of the Moose 1567, both of Fostoria,
retired in 1983 as an assembler from Fostoria Industries, where
she had worked for more than 10 years.

Home, Fostoria, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev.
Bertie Dell officiating. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria.

FOSTORIA -- Funeral services for
Jami Lynn Cassidy, 43, 611 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, will be
held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at West Independence United Methodist
Church, the Rev. Jeffrey A. Raker officiating. Burial will be
in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia.
Visitation will be held from noon
to 2 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church, and one hour prior
to services at the church Wednesday.
Mrs. Cassidy died of natural causes
at 5:26 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999 at her residence.
She was born March 7, 1956 in Fostoria
to James R. and Georgia Mae (Pohlman) Fleming. Her father and
stepmother, Arlene E. Fleming, survive in Fremont. She married
Terry G. Cassidy on July 27, 1974 and he survives.
Also surviving are two daughters,
Carri M. Cassidy, Toledo; Amy J. Cassidy, at home; a brother,
Jeffrey L. Fleming, Gibsonburg; a stepbrother, Devin S. Needles,
Marion; and three sisters, Mrs. Jack (Jenni L.) Chalfin, Perrysburg;
Mrs. Tom (Janine S.) Kitchen, Fostoria; Jodi A. Fleming, Oak
Harbor.
Mrs. Cassidy was an office manager
at Wolph Title Inc., Fostoria, and was formerly employed at
State Home Savings in Fostoria and Bowling Green.
She was a member of West Independence
United Methodist Church and a 1974 graduate of Fostoria High
School.

Errold M. Cook, 86, of Spruce Street,
Fostoria, died at 8:55 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, at his
residence.
He was born March 7, 1913, near
Van Buren, to Henry and Mary (Ellis) Cook. His wife, Alice I.
(Ebersole) Cook, whom he married Sept. 26, 1932, in Lipsic,
survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: three
sons, Wayne A. and Jack L. Cook, both of Tiffin and Harold H.
Cook of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Clair (Doris E.) Rose of
Modesto, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
A son, Gerald A. Cook; a daughter,
LaLaven Cook; four brothers, Howard, Faye, Clow and Carl Cook;
and eight sisters, Gertrude Cook, Retha Vanetta, Inez Virden,
Ruth Bomer, Goldie Bucher, Myrtle Pierce, Lena Kuhlman and Cora
Martin, also are deceased.
Mr. Cook, a former member of Trinity
Baptist Church, Findlay, retired in 1974 from the Nickel Plate
Railroad, after 34 years of service.

Tiffin native -- Sister & Daughter of former Fostorian's
Word has been received of the death
of Jean (Callendar) Coleman, 78, a Tiffin native who died Sunday,
Oct. 31, 1999, in Cincinnati, after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Edith and Charles Callendar Sr. and a brother, Richard
Callendar.
Surviving are a daughter, Pat Coleman
Bray of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sons, Richard Doran of Higley,
Ariz., and Trenton Coleman of Cincinnati; two brothers, Howard
Callendar of Georgia former Fostoria resident, and Charles Callendar
of California; two sisters, Mary Mitchell of Michigan and Marge
Newsome of California; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Mrs. Coleman, a 1939 Columbian
High School graduate, was a former youth worker in the Seneca
County Juvenile Court system.

Eyre
Sister of Fostorian
Mary J Eyre, 66, Garland, Texas,
died February 16, 1999 at home in Garland.
She was born May 3, 1932 in Fostoria
to Wayne and Edna (Fisher) Cline. She was a 1950 graduate of
St. Wendelin High School. She married Philip Eyre on November
17, 1953 in Fostoria, and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Charles
and Brian, one daughter Janet Mayfield and three Grandchildren
all of Garland Texas. One brother William Cline survives in
Fostoria along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her
parents and three sisters, Dorothy (Cline) Breisacher, Kathleen
(Cline) Cramer and Wilma Cline.
Services were held in Garland at
3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 17, 1999. Internment was at Restland
Vets Cemetery.
