Walter, Janet `Jan`

Janet "Jan" Walter, 63, of Union Street, Bettsville, Ohio, died Thursday afternoon Jan. 17, 2002, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

She was born in Fremont, Ohio Dec. 2, 1938, to Elmer H. and Ella E. (Kaiser) Fry. On June 11, 1960, she married M. Lee Walter, in Burgoon U.M. Church. He survives.

Also surviving "Jan" are sons, Gregory L. Walter of Risingsun, Ohio and Kevin R. Walter of Columbus; a daughter, Michele S. Cassidy of Fostoria, Ohio; a brother, Duane "Pete" Fry of Fremont; one aunt, Evalyn Kelley of Sun City Center, FL; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great-grandson, as well as many cousins and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her sister, Norene Harpster.

She was a member of Jackson Burgoon Class of 1957 and Northwest Ohio Practical Nurse Training Center in 1958. She retired in 1983, after 29 years, from Fremont Memorial Hospital, where she was a practical nurse. She also did home health care. In the past she attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Fremont, as well as Burgoon United Methodist Church.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday Jan. 21, at the Burgoon U.M. Church, where the body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery, Jackson Township.

Friends may call at the Nopper-Veh Funeral Home, 319 W. Madison St., Gibsonburg, Ohio, from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday.

Those wishing to make a memorial may make it to either church or the donor's choice.


WILMOTH, WAYNE

A Mass of Christian Burial for Wayne Walter Wilmoth, 59, of 822 McDougal St., Fostoria, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, with military rites by United Veterans of Fostoria.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Moose memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. and a Christian wake service at 8:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

Mr. Wilmoth died at 8:06 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at his residence.

He was born March 29, 1942, in Toledo to Wayne and Josephine (Zimmer) Wilmoth. They survive in St. Petersburg, Fla. He married Adelina "Lina" Martinez on June 29, 1991, in Fostoria, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael and Eric, both of Toledo; a daughter, Mrs. Tim (Laura) Mason, Sterling Heights, Mich.; four stepsons, Raul Hernandez Jr., Ottawa; Reuben Hernandez, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Rudy Hernandez, Plantation, Fla.; and Randy Hernandez, Eugene, Ore.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Larry (Valerie) Blankenship and Tracy Hernandez, both of Columbus; and Tricia Hernandez, Fostoria; four grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Gary of Erie, Mich.; and three sisters, Mrs. Larry (Sandy) Kropaczewski, Ida, Mich.; Mrs. Jim (Lillian) Binder, Camden, Mich.; and Mrs. Russ (Sue) Schwartz, Toledo.

Mr. Wilmoth was the former chief of police in West Millgrove and had been body shop manager at Peterbilt, Findlay.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Moose Lodge 1567, VFW 421, American Legion Post 73, and was second vice commander of AMVETS Post 69, all in Fostoria; and Toledo VFW.

ZELLERS, RAYMOND D.

ARCADIA -- Raymond D. Zellers, 78, of 400 South St., Arcadia, died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Findlay to Melvin and Della M. (Newcomer) Zellers. He married Betty M. Casteel, and they were divorced.

Surviving are two sons, Rick of Manhattan, Kan.; Kevin of Arcadia; two daughters, Sherry L. Livesay, Fostoria; Nancy M. Zellers, Rudolph; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph of Findlay; Bobby of Oak Harbor; and three sisters, Mamie Shearer, Mount Blanchard; Mrs. Wilson (Florence) Cardwell, Alvada; Ruth Boham, Cridersville.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Fred, Clarence, George, Albert, Gerald and Stanley; and three sisters, Clara "Babe" Fox, Edna Honecker and Mabel Cameron.

Mr. Zeller was a retired farmer and laborer.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Europeon Theatre.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, the Rev. James C. Ritchey officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.


WALSH, JAMES E.

Private services will be held for James E. Walsh, 61, of County Road 592, Tiffin, and formerly of Fostoria.

No visitation will be held.

Mr. Walsh died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Toledo Hospital.

He was born Aug. 17, 1940, in Fostoria to Maurice and Carrie (Payne) Walsh. His mother survives in Fostoria. He married Sharon D. Smith on March 29, 1969, in Fostoria, and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Richard of Tiffin; a daughter, Sherrie Walsh, Tiffin; and two sisters, Marilyn King, Fostoria; and Joyce Mayse, Castalia.

Mr. Walsh retired in 1994 as an engineer for Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He also was a farmer.

He was a 1958 graduate of Fostoria High School.

He was a member of Bascom United Methodist Church.

WILLIAMS, BRANDY J.

Graveside services for Brandy J. Williams, four months old, of Fostoria, will be held at 11 a.m.
Monday at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. Friday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Brandy died of natural causes at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

She was born Oct. 9, 2001, in Toledo to Bryan E. Jenkins and Barbara J. Williams. Her father survives in Rocky Ridge and her mother survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are three brothers, Ronnie M., Johnathon C. and Anthony J. Williams, all of Fostoria; two sisters, Crystal T. Williams, Fostoria; and Laura L. Jenkins, Rocky Ridge; maternal grandparents Carl and Clara Williams, Fostoria; and paternal grandparents Bertha Jenkins, Pemberville; and Bob Jenkins, Delta.

WILKINS, LUCILLE T.

Funeral services for Lucille T. Wilkins, 72, of Sprigg Street, North Baltimore, will be held at
10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Donald Goodwin
officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ms. Wilkins died at 10:12 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2002, at Toledo Hospital.

She was born March 20, 1930, in Fostoria to Maxwell T. and Letha F. (Bradley) Cooper.

Surviving are two daughters, Elaine Smith, North Baltimore; Mrs. Patrick (Louann) O'Hara, Perris, Calif.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ivadine Johnson, Tujunga, Calif.; and Illa Bickley, Fremont.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Frias; a daughter, Pamela K. Frias; four brothers, Cebert, James, Dewey and Orville Cooper; and a sister, Maxine Myers.

Ms. Wilkins retired in 1984 from Bendix Auto-Lite, now Honeywell, Fostoria, after 30 years.

She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 533.

Memorials may be made to Coronary Care Unit of Toledo Hospital.


YATES-TOMSEN, MARGARET

FOSTORIA -- A memorial service for Margaret Yates-Tomsen, 88, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and formerly of Fremont Street, Fostoria, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, the Rev. R. Edson Reed officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove.

There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Yates-Tomsen died Wednesday, March 14, 2002, at Crestwood Nursing Home, Niagara Falls, N.Y.

She was born March 30, 1913, in Toledo to Dwight and Mabel (Slosser) Yates. She married Justus Tomsen on Nov. 7, 1937, in Fostoria, and he died in 1991.

Surviving are four sons, James of Dayton; Peter of Omaha, Neb.; Tim of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; Mike of Columbus; a daughter, Margot Tomsen, Hanover, Ind.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Maynard Yates, Palm Springs, Calif.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jon; a brother, Robert Yates; a sister, Eleanor Gulden.

Mrs. Yates-Tomsen retired as an elementary school teacher in Wooster.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria.

She was a graduate of Fostoria High School, and received her bachelor's degree in education from Wooster College.

Memorials may be made to the church.

WARREN, MAXINE N.

Maxine N. Warren, 87, of 5664 County Road 248, Findlay, died at 1:25 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2002, at the Heritage.

She was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Cass Township, Hancock County to Harvey and Lelia M. (Fox) Wilcox. She married Don Warren on Sept. 9, 1932, and he died Jan. 4, 1970.

Surviving are a son, James D. of rural Arcadia; a daughter, Mrs. Marion D. (Lelia F.) Horton, rural Findlay; eight grandchildren; a step-grandchild; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, John Wilcox, Universal City, Texas; two half brothers, Herb Wilcox, Brookfield, Ill.; and Gene Wilcox, Fostoria; a stepbrother, Charles Diesler, Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Alice McComb, Findlay; and a stepsister, Ruth Struble, Fostoria.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Davis.

Mrs. Warren was a homemaker and retired in 1982 from the housecleaning department at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center after 25 years.

She was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church and its Golden Rule Sewing Circle, and Arcadia Senior Citizens, and was a charter member of Arcadia Garden Club.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Arcadia Cemetery, the Rev. James C. Ritchey II officiating.

No visitation will be held.

YATES, BERNICE E.

Bernice E. "Bernie" Yates, 83, of S. Main Street, West Millgrove, died 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.

She was born Jan. 26, 1919 in Wood County to Albert and Emma (Willett) Yates.

Survivors include a sister, Doris Shreffler of West Millgrove.

Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.


YOST, ALFRED N.

Alfred N. Yost, 82, 2805 McCutchenville Rd., Fostoria, died at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2002, in Fostoria.

He was born June 7, 1919, in Carey, to the late Michael C. & Margaret M. (Ardner) Yost. On May 7, 1949, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, he married Mary A. Smith. She died Dec. 24, 2001.

Surviving are four sons, John R. Yost of Carey, Steven M. Yost of Upper Sandusky and James A. and Gerald P. Yost, both of Fostoria; five daughters,, Mrs. Wilfred (Susan) Tiell and Mrs. Michael (Margaret) Brady, both of Fostoria, Miss Diane M. Yost of Tiffin, Mrs. Thomas (Sharon) Wood of Findlay and Mrs. Jeffery (Amy) Wuebbolt of Fairfield; 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Yost of Carey; and a sister, Erma Brodman of Carey.

A granddaughter, Shelley Yost; a brother, Hubert Yost and a sister, Mary Anne Enck, also are deceased.

Mr. Yost retired in 1981 from Seneca Wire and Manufacturing in Fostoria; was also a lifetime self-employed farmer in Seneca and Wood counties and sold eggs for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and a Third Degree honorary life member of the Fostoria Knights of Columbus Council 1197. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he
received the American Theater Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church. The rosary will be prayed at the church at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria,, where the rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Church and Schools.


WALK, GENEVIEVE MARIE

Genevieve Marie Walk, 100, formerly of 5 Braden Ct., Tiffin, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, in the St. Catherine Care Center of Fostoria.

She was born Aug. 17, 1901, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Valentine and Katherine (McDonald) Krill. She married Emil Walk May 9, 1942, in St. Mary's of Tiffin; and he died July 4, 1975.

A nephew; a niece; and great-nieces and great-nephews survive.

Rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Monday in the St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by the funeral mass at 10 a.m. with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be 9-9:45 a.m. Monday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.


WALTER, DONALD E.

Funeral services for Donald E. Walter, 71, of Coon Rapids, Minn., and formerly of Fostoria,
will be held at 2 p.m. today in Coon Rapids. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St.
Wendelin Church, Fostoria, at a later date.

Mr. Walter died Thursday, April 18, 2002, at his residence.

He was born March 24, 1931, in Fostoria to John and Emma Walter. He married Beverly Burns on Oct. 15, 1955, in Fostoria, and she survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Karen Walter, Coon Rapids, Minn.; four sons, David, Ron, Kenny and Pat, all of Coon Rapids; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Bob, Gene and Butch, all of Fostoria; and a sister, Emma Beeson, Fostoria.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild; four brothers, Paul, Harold, John and Dick; and a sister, Esther Belle Walter.

Mr. Walter retired in 1986 as store operating manager for Montgomery Wards, St. Paul, Minn., after 31 years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a former member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and graduated from St. Wendelin High School.

WILLIAMS, LINDA S.

Linda S. Williams, 53, of 581 Maple St., Fostoria, died at her residence.

She was born Oct. 31, 1948, in Fostoria, to Paul L. and Mary E. (Frankart) Williams. Her father and step mother, Corrine Williams, survive in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: a son, Nathan P. Williams of Boston, Mass.; four sisters, Mrs. Darrell (Sharon) Holman of Fostoria, Sister Mary Paulena S.N.D. of Fremont, Mrs .Joe (Wanda) Saum of Arcadia and Mrs. Sam (Pam) Guillen, also of Fostoria; four brothers, Paul G., Steven M., Gary J. and Tim B. Williams, all of Fostoria.

Preceding her in death were her mother and a sister, Elaine Peluso.

Mrs. Williams worked at Wal-Mart in Findlay and was a former bank teller in Fostoria and Tiffin. A graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Toledo, she was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and the Just Friends group.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church. The rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:45 p.m.

WORKLEY, MARTHA

Martha Jane Workley, 97, a resident of St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, and formerly of South Wood Street, Fostoria, died at 1 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2002, at the nursing home.

She was born March 14, 1905, in Carey to John and Elvira (Johnson) Slotterbeck. She married Harold Bentz on April 6, 1926, in Carey, and he died Oct. 24, 1942. She then married Clarence H. Workley on Aug. 26, 1944, in Carey, and he died Feb. 14, 1972.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Virginia) Blaser, Fostoria; a stepson, Clayton Workley, Findlay; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Thomas; three stepdaughters, Leah Mae Dillon,
Margaret Thomas, Bonnie Long; two brothers, William and Charles Slotterbeck; three sisters, Olive Gerber, Bertha Mitten and Alice Kotterman.

Mrs. Workley retired in 1965 from Autolite Co. (now Honeywell Corp.), Fostoria, after more than 25 years.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Hope 60 Club, First Church of the Nazarene and
Shepherd Center, all in Fostoria; and American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).

She was a 1924 graduate of Carey High School.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Robert Chew officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to either church.



VELIQUETTE, MARTHA L.


Martha Louise Veliquette, 86, of 621 W. Center St., Fostoria, died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born April 16, 1916, in Arcadia to George and Gertrude (Ruehle) Brookman.

She married Nelson D. Veliquette Aug. 12, 1934, in Bloomdale, Ohio. He died in 1970.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Jean (Edward) Williamson and Mary Louise Fouts, both of Fostoria; a brother, William Brookman of Fostoria; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, David Leroy Veliquette; two sisters, Ruth Gordon and Pearl Hampton.

Mrs. Veliquette was a homemaker and a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria and its Hope 60 Club.

She was also a member of Shepherd Center in Fostoria; AARP and served as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer for several years in Fostoria.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria with the Rev. Dr. Larry W. Knigga officiating. Burial will be in Arcadia Cemetery, Arcadia.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria.

WANK, NORMAN

Norman J. Wank Sr., 87, formerly of Township Road 84, Fostoria, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday,
May 23, 2002, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.

He was born April 29, 1915, in Fostoria to Frank and Anna (Seebon) Wank. He married Florance L. Phillips on April 5, 1948, in Fostoria, and she died May 6, 2000.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dan (Susan) Greeno, Fostoria; and Mrs. Carl (Deborah) Johnson, Risingsun; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Catherine Shaver, Tiffin; and Loretta Hemminger, Alvada.

He was preceded in death by a son, Norman Jr.

Mr. Wank was a farmer and retired in 1993 as owner and operator of Wank's Hauling, Fostoria.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Gary Staats officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

WILLIAMSON, JAMESE  LANEE'
 
Jamese Lanee' Williamson, 4, of Lewis Street, Fostoria, died in a fire on East Tiffin Street, Fostoria, Thursday, July 4, 2002.
 
She was born Feb. 15, 1998, in Fostoria, to James L. Williamson II and Samara S. Durst.
 
Survivors include her father of Kent, Wash.; her mother of Fostoria; two sisters, Deneah Durst and Cashara Durst at home; a brother, James Williamson III of Indiana; maternal grandparents, Steve and Cindy Durst of Fostoria; maternal great-grandparents, Richard and Sharon Zink of Fostoria; and paternal grandmother, Cindy Hendricks of Baltimore, MD.
 
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with burial in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
 
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.



WRIGHT, RUTH ANN
 
  FOSTORIA -- Ruth Ann "Annie" Wright, 78, of 1087 S. Poplar St., Fostoria, died at 4:10 a.m.  Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
 
  She was born April 7, 1924, in Dayton. She married Clyde L. "Red" Wright on Aug. 25, 1950, and he  died Dec. 20, 2000.
 
  Surviving are two sons, Richard L. Businger, Findlay; and James L. Wright, Fostoria; 15 grandchildren;  and 29 great-grandchildren.
 
  She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald L. Businger.
 
  Mrs. Wright was a homemaker.
 
  She was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a nurse.
 
  Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.
 
  Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

  Mrs. Youngston died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
 
  She was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Fremont to John W. and Lalia (Kline) Lewis. She married James B.   Youngston Sr. on June 6, 1943, and he survives.
 
  Also surviving are two sons, David L. of Columbia Station; and Bill of Spring, Texas; a daughter, Mrs.  Ron (Terrie) Fry, Michigan City, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Rose  Nichols, Fostoria; a brother, Richard Lewis, Sandusky; a stepbrother, John Post, Findlay; and three  stepsisters, Marge Green and Mary Roose, both of Findlay; and Pat Crawfis, Lima.
 
  She was preceded in death by a son, James B. Jr.; and a grandchild.
 
  Mrs. Youngston retired as an assembler from the former Bendix Autolite (now Honeywell), Fostoria,  after 30 years of service.
 
  She graduated from Fostoria High School.

  FOSTORIA -- Funeral services for Donald R. Yontz, 64, of Bradner, and formerly of Fostoria, will be  held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with military rites by Joint Veterans  Group of Fostoria.
 
  Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
 
  Mr. Yontz died at 1:24 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, at his residence.
 
  He was born Jan. 2, 1938, in Fremont to Walter and Marion (Miller) Yontz. He married Nancy L.  Driggs on April 30, 1960, in Fostoria, and she died Nov. 6, 1995.
 
  Surviving are a son, Daniel of Portage; three daughters, Mrs. Dale (Kelly) Frankart and Mrs. Mark  (Kerry) Lee, both of Fostoria; and Mrs. Mark (Kristi) Bowen, Pemberville; eight grandchildren; a  brother, Walter "Mike" of Fremont; and four sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Betty) Adams and Mrs. Ernest (Gail)  Stroud, both of Fremont; Mrs. Gerald (Kay Ann) Gnepper, Clyde; and Mrs. Gary (Marylou) Winter,  Helena.
 
  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Shew and Wilma Selvey.
 
  Mr. Yontz retired in 1994 from General Dynamic, Lima.
 
  He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
 
  He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Eagles, Moose and AMVETS, all in Fostoria.
 
  He was a 1957 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.

  Autolite retiree
 
  Joseph M. Woods, 69, of 1907 Candlewick Drive, died Friday morning, Aug. 30, 2002, at Blanchard  Valley Regional Health Center.
 
  He was born March 13, 1933, in Findlay to Harley and Myrtle (Steinman) Woods. He married Kay  Darnell in 1953, and they divorced. He later married Alma Jean Manns in 1963, and she survives.
 
  Also surviving are a son, Joseph of Arcadia; three daughters, Janice Bormuth and Jackie Croasmun, both  of Findlay; and Lori Stein Woods, Arcadia; two stepsons, Stanley Valentine, Upper Sandusky; and Bill  Valentine, Findlay; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nine  step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bob of Deshler; Ed in Florida; and Harold of Arlington; and  two sisters, Anne Riker in Florida; and Kathy Loy in Georgia.
 
  He was preceded in death by a step-grandchild.
 
  Mr. Woods retired in 1991 as a millwright with Bendix Autolite (now Honeywell), Fostoria.
 
  He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.  He waw a member of AMVETS and DAV.  No funeral services  will be held.
 
  Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Routson Funeral Chapel, where military rites  will be conducted at 4 p.m. by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.

  FOSTORIA -- Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Brandenburg-Whited, 79, a resident of Good  Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Church of Nazarene,  Fostoria, the Rev. Russell Gumm officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oak  Grove Cemetery, Lexington, the Rev. John Sgro officiating.
 
  Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, and an  hour before services Wednesday at the church.
 
  Mrs. Brandenburg-Whited died at 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at her residence.
 
  She was born Feb. 17, 1923, in San Angelo, Texas to Ralph and Ethel (Albritton) Youngblood. She  married M. Ray Brandenburg on Sept. 25, 1945, and he died Jan. 20, 1976. She later married Paul  Whited on Aug. 15, 1981, and he died Oct. 21, 1983.
 
  Surviving are a son, David R. Brandenburg, Columbus; two daughters, Brenda G. Brandenburg,  Nashville, Tenn.; Mrs. Herb (Carol S.) Johnson, Fostoria; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two  great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Ralph Youngblood, Nederland, Texas; James Youngblood,  Montgomery, Texas; William Youngblood, Stillwater, Okla.; Ellis Youngblood, Columbia, Tenn.
 
  She was preceded in death by a sister, Maridel Dudley.
 
  Mrs. Brandenburg-Whited retired in 1983 as kitchen manager and cook for Lexington Local School  District.
 
  She was a 1940 graduate of South Park High School, Beaumont, Texas.
 
  She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, where she was a former board member, missionary  president, ladies Bible study and Sunday school teacher, and prime time coordinator, and received the  church's Distinguished Service Award.

  Louise "Tommy" Thomas Wise, 77, formerly of 731 Fifth St., Findlay, died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002,  at the Heritage.
 
  She was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Prestonburg, Ky., to William and Mary Alice (Horn) Sparks. She  married Ivan E. Thomas on July 6, 1962, and he died April 4, 1986. She then married Raymond Wise,  and he died on Nov. 27, 2001.
 
  Surviving are three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, William "Bill" Sparks Jr., Del  Barton, W.Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Ida F. Walter, Findlay; Mrs. Francis (Dorothy) Lenhart, Upper  Sandusky; and Annabell Howard, Fostoria.
 
  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jean Charters; a brother, Curtis Sparks; and three  sisters, Carrie Crisp, Dollie Marshall and Sarah Berhens.
 
  Mrs. Wise was a nurse's aid at Blanchard Valley Hospital for 29 years.
 
  She was a member of Blanchard Avenue Pentecostal Church of God.
 
  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, the Revs. Phillip  Elmore and Jack Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

WORLEY-DAVIS, FAYE M.
 
Faye M. Worley-Davis, 94, of Independence House, Fostoria, formerly of Stinchcomb Drive and W. CR 28, both of Fostoria,died 7:16 p.m. Sept. 17, 2002, at the Independence House.
 
She was born May 11, 1908, in Spencer, W.Va., to Noah B. and Virgie (Harper) Kiser. She first married Harold W. Worley,Oct. 16, 1928, in New London. He died Nov. 22, 1968. She then married Charles Davis, and they are divorced.
 
Surviving are: a daughter, Norma Worley of Fostoria; two granddaughters, Aimee Zimmerman of Cleveland and Emily Zimmerman of Columbus.
 
A memorial for Faye Worley-Davis will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 252 West Tiffin St., Fostoria, with Fr. John Trumble officiating.
 
Memorials may be made to the church or Bridge Home Health and Hospice of Hancock County.
 
There will be no visitation.

Merle F. Wickard
 
Merle F. Wickard, 66, of 746 Stinchcomb Dr., Fostoria, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at St. Catherine Nursing Home.
 
He was born May 12, 1936, in Wood County, to Ray and Bessie (Root) Wickard. He married Betty Hopkins and they divorced. He then married Emma (Boes) Wickard. They divorced, but she continued on as care-giver.
 
Surviving are: Care-giver, Emma Wickard; six daughters, Joyce Florey of Lima, Janet Wickard of Portage, Debbie Hahn of Bloomdale, Donna Telles of Portage, June Sheeks of Weston and Mary Johnson of Toledo; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
 
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

ULICNY, ALICE S.
 
  A memorial service for Alice S. Ulicny, 88, of Fostoria Road, Fostoria, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday   at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Larry Knigga officiating. Burial will be in   Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
 
  Visitation will be held an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
 
  Mrs. Ulicny died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
 
  She was born March 9, 1914, in Fostoria to Jacob and Wilimina Gerlinger. She married Dr. Harry P.  Ulicny on July 11, 1942, in Fostoria, and he died Dec. 28, 1982.
 
  Surviving are two sons, James S. of Risingsun; Richard of Raleigh, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and 11  great-grandchildren.
 
  She was preceded in death by a son, John; and two brothers, Ted and Lauton Gerlinger.
 
  Mrs. Ulicny was a homemaker and formerly was an X-ray technician at area hospitals.
 
  She was a 1932 graduate of Fostoria High School and received her X-ray technician certification from  Capital University.
 
  She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria; and a former member of Fostoria Women's  Club.

ZENDER, DONNA M.
 
  CAREY -- Donna M. Zender, 88, formerly of 400 High St., Carey, died at 4:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7,  2002, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
 
  She was born Aug. 26, 1914, in Upper Sandusky to Forest and Clara (Althouser) Turner. She married  Clyde H. Zender on March 2, 1936, and he died April 24, 1984.
 
  Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie McCullough and Mrs. Richard (Carol) McMinn, both of Bradner;  three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eunice Keckler, Fostoria.
 
  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Harold Turner; and a sister, Evelyn Keckler.
 
  Mrs. Zender was a homemaker. She also had worked at Findlay Fiber.
 
  She was of the Protestant faith. She was a former member of Carey Conservation Club.
 
  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, the Rev.  Terry McBeath officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
 
  Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

WALKER, SANDRA H.
 
Sandra H. Walker, 54, of 10478 W. TR 116, Fostoria, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at her home.
 
She was born Jan. 13, 1948, in Seneca County, to the late Carl Walker and Catherine "Kate" (Doty) Walker-Marks.
 
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Erik (Kim) Fillhart of Fostoria; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Fillhart; and a brother, Robert Walker of Wayne.
 
A brother, Carl Walker and a sister, Diane Ziegman, are also deceased.
 
Mrs. Walker, a 1967 graduate of St. Wendelin High School, Fostoria, worked at Toledo Molding and Die in Carey and also at Kuss Corp. in Findlay. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Eagles, Ladies of the Moose, all of Fostoria and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, who will have a 5:45 p.m. Memorial Service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.
 
Visitation is 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. today at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian Wake service will be at 6:30 p.m.

YAMBERT, JESSE F.
 
Jesse F. Yambert, 85, of Elmwood at the Shawhan, Tiffin, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at the Elmwood at the Shawhan.
 
He was born May 4, 1917, in Wyandot County to Cecil and Myrtle (Boomershine) Yambert. He married Margaret E. (Phillips) Yambert in Napoleon on Sept. 5, 1942. She died Dec. 8, 1996.
 
Surviving are: four sons, Mr. Kenneth A. and Juanita Yambert of Tiffin, Mr. David L. Yambert of Fostoria, Mr. Gary W. and Jacqueline of Fremont, Mr. Robert F. and Lynda of Toledo; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister, May Cathrine Miller.
 
Mr. Yambert was a retired farmer and retired from American Standard after 37 years. He was a lifetime resident in the area.  Mr. Yambert was a graduate of McCutchenville High School Class of 1935 and served during WWEE in the U.S. Army Air Corps.  He was an avid camper.
 
He was a member a 4-H advisor for 40 years, UCC dart ball team, UCC Consistory, Little League coach. the Jr. Fair Foundation and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
 
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Michaels officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
 
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or Heartland Hospice.

Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North  Baltimore.
 
  Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today and Sunday at Smith-Crates Funeral Home, North  Baltimore, where a rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.
 
  Mrs. West died at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
 
  She was born June 26, 1930, in Custar to Raymond W. and Margaret R. (Wilhelm) Durliat. She married  Richard D. "Dick" West on June 10, 1950, in North Baltimore, and he survives.
 
  Also surviving are two sons, Thomas R. of Collins, Ga.; David D. of North Baltimore; five daughters,  Mrs. Steven (Jean) Miller, Findlay; Mrs. Kevin (Karen R.) Simon and Mrs. David (Vanessa) Miles, both  of North Baltimore; Diane West, Holland, Ohio; Mrs. Louis (Lisa) Collins, Fostoria; 16 grandchildren;  10 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Durliat, West Unity; and a sister, Mary M. Wymer, Coldwater,  Mich.
 
  Mrs. West was a homemaker.   She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary  Society.

YARRIS, ELIZABETH MARION
 
Elizabeth Marion "Liz" Yarris, 88, of Fostoria, died 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
 
She was born May 28, 1914, in Akron, to Charles J. and Lucy E. (Williams) Breiner. She married Dr. William F. Yarris in Akron on Aug. 21, 1937. He died April 6, 1996.
 
Surviving are: three sons, Charles E. Yarris of Willowick, Donald S. Yarris of Fostoria and James R. Yarris of New Riegel; a daughter, Elizabeth A. Yarris of Bowling Green; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
 
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home.


WINTHER, BETTY (REID)

Betty J. (Reid) Winther, 78, formerly of Bettsville, died 12:52 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, where she came to reside after living in Florida for ten years.
 
She was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Muncie, Ind., to Thomas J. and Ruth Ellen (Swinehart) Stevens. She first married Carlos Robert Reid.  After his death she married Trygve Winther on Aug. 25, 1981 at Light House Point, FL.  Mr. Winther died on April 6, 1988.
 
Surviving are two sons, Robert Donald Reid of Toledo and Ronald Joseph Reid of Swanton; two daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Luella (Marmont "Buzz") Green of rural Tiffin and Jeri Ruth Reid of Florida; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Wayne Stevens of Fostoria; three sisters, Florence Whipple of North Baltimore, Marian Baird of Findlay and Marie LaLone of Syracuse. NY.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a son-in-law, Marmont "Buzz" Green; a grandchild; two brothers, Albert Stevens and Thomas Lee Stevens; a sister Evelyn Canter.
 
Mrs. Winther attended St. Wendelin High School in Fostoria. She formerly owned the Nature Trails Golf Course and the Pie House, both in Bettsville.
 
Memorial Service will be at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bascom at a later date.
 
The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.


ZIEROLF, BARBARA R.
 
Barbara R. Zierolf, 83, formerly of Carey, died at 7:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, in Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
 
She was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Sandusky to Robert W. and Adeline R. (Remlinger) Exline who are both deceased. She married William R. Zierolf Jan. 24, 1942, and he died July 17, 1966.
 
Survivors include: three daughters, Sandra King of Fostoria, Zoe Mitchell of Clarksville, Tenn., and Prudence Prescott of Carey; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
 
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in The Original Shrine Church, St. Edward's Catholic Church, Carey, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Carey.
 
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday in the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, where a Rosary will be conducted at 8 p.m.


WONDER, DONALD R.  
                
 
  Donald R. Wonder, 36, of Cherry Street, Fostoria, died of natural causes at 3 a.m. Friday,
  Dec. 20, 2002 at his residence.
 
  He was born Aug. 9, 1966 in Fostoria to Donald E. and Carolyn S. (Bethel) Wonder. His mother  survives in Fostoria. He married Sarah Buckner on April 3, 1993 in Fostoria, and she survives.
 
  Also surviving are two sons Lucas and Brian, both at home; a daughter, Amber Wonder, at home; three   brothers, Karl of Barstow, Calif.; and Miles and John, both of Fostoria; and four sisters, Rebecca   Wonder, Fostoria; Carol Price, Bolivia, Ohio; Cheryl Tipton, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and Elizabeth   Pneuman, Camas, Wash.
 
  Mr. Wonder was a former cook at Bob Evans, Fostoria.
 
  He was a 1986 graduate of Fostoria High School.
 
  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev.   Russell Gumm officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Thrush; a grandchild; two brothers, Dale and Junior  Hill; and two sisters, Armillda Lang and Gerri Schindler.
