FULLER, FLOYD, JR.
Father of Fostorians
 
Floyd Fuller Jr., 72, of Delray Beach, Fla., died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003.
 
He was born April 15, 1930, to Floyd and Emma (Hubbard) Fuller. His father died in 1953 and his mother in 1997. He married Amanda E. Townes May 6, 1951, in Kentucky. She died Aug. 18, 2000.
 
Surviving are six sons, David of Delray Beach, John of Tiffin, Benjamin and Christopher, both of Fostoria, Damon Banks of Cleveland and Alex Banks of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Barbara) Jackson of Fostoria; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; an aunt, Mrs. Callie Smith of Cleveland and several cousins.
 
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Fuller.
 
Mr. Fuller worked for numerous years at the Chevy dealership in Fostoria.

EICHMAN, RAYMOND  A.

  Raymond A. Eichman, 74, of 1921 Eastview Drive, Findlay,  died at 3:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10,   2003 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.
 
  He was born May 3, 1928 in Winona, Minn. to Theodore and Cecelia (Nowiki) Eichman. He married  Rosemary Kochta on May 21, 1949, and she survives.
 
  Also surviving are three sons, Steven of Bradley, Ill.; Scott of Champaign, Ill.; Paul of Findlay; a  daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Cheri) Becker, Avon Lake; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a step  great-grandchild; and a sister, Louise Konter, Winona, Minn.
 
  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Wilhoyt; two brothers, Daniel and Theodore; and a  sister, Constance Garringer.
 
  Mr. Eichman retired in 1986 as a controller at Staley Manufacturing Co., Fostoria, after 37 years.
 
  He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
 
  He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.
 
  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, downtown, the Rev.  Keith Stripe officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, with military rites by Hancock County  Veterans Memorial Squad.
 
  Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Routson Funeral Chapel, where a rosary service will be  held at 6:30 p.m.

Flagg, Daniel D.

Daniel D. Flagg, 70, of Cleveland Street, Fostoria, died 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee.

He was born Aug. 10, 1932, in Kansas, Ohio to the late US and Zenith (Prenzlin) Flagg. He married Shirley Goebel on March 22, 1955, in Fremont. She survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are: a son, Leonard Flagg of Cape Coral, Fla.; four daughters, Colleen Sauber, Tina Bryant, Terri Hosman and Kathy Fuerstenau, all of Fostoria; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Martin Flagg of Kansas, Ohio; and a sister, Shirley Robbins of Tiffin.

Mr. Flagg was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

The body will be cremated, therefore, services will be at a later date.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria.


Greeno, Michael

Funeral services for Michael Lee Greeno Sr., 56, of 3284 County Road 236, Findlay, will be held at noon Thursday at Routson Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Ken Hasekamp officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Greeno died at 2:05 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2003 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.

He was born July 22, 1946 in Findlay to Chester and Marie B. (Mekee) Greeno. He married Karen Kay Mays on July 19, 1965 in Findlay, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael Lee Jr. of Findlay; and Mark Allen of Tiffin; four brothers, David of Forest; Chester "Sunny" of McComb; Lynn of Findlay; and Dan of Fostoria; and a sister, Mrs. Rusty (Pat) Rush, Findlay.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Opperman.

Mr. Greeno was a brake mechanic at Miller Rigging. He also was a brake mechanic at Fornes for 30 years.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 110 S. Main St.


FEY, JOHN  H.
 
  FOSTORIA -- Private funeral services for John H. Fey, 80, of 707 Portage Drive, Fostoria, will be held   at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
 
  There will be no visitation.
 
  Mr. Fey died at 3:22 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 at Medical College of Ohio, Toledo.
 
  He was born Sept. 16, 1922 in Fostoria to John H. and Rosella (McMahon) Fey. He married Evelyn L.  Fry on Sept. 20, 1941, and she survives.
 
  Also surviving are a son, Danny of Fostoria; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
 
  He was preceded in death by a sister, Eugenia Ann Wernick.
 
  Mr. Fey retired in 1985 as an engineer at Norton Manufacturing, Fostoria, after 20 years. He also had   been an engineer at Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria and a superintendent at Fostoria Machine and Tool.
 
  He was a 1940 graduate of Fostoria High School.

Feindel, Gordon
 
Gordon D. Feindel, 84 Tiffin died 6:30 a.m. Jan. 24 2003 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo
 
He was born Feb. 2, 1918 in Bascom to Irving and Emma (Wertz) Feindel  He married Esther (Young) Feindel at Fort Seneca U.C.C. on June 22 1941 She survives in Tiffin.
 
Also surviving are two sons, Dennis Feindel, Fostoria;  Max Feindel, Tiffin; five daughters, Mrs. David (Margaret) Newman, Toledo;  Mrs. Dwight (Linda) Wildman, Old Fort; Mrs. Glenn (Sandra) Conrad, Cosby, Tenn.,; Mrs. George (Gale) Thomasson ll. Fostoria;  Mrs. Gary (Carol) Smidutz, Tiffin; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
 
Preceding him in death were a son, Glenn Feindel; a brother, Harold Feindel; and a granddaughter.
 
Mr. Feindel was a farmer and retired from Union carbide in 1980
 
He was a member of the union United Church of Christ, Bascom.
 
He helped the Ohio Maple Producer's Association and started the Feindel Sugar bush in 1959.
 
He was a Sunday school teacher and Elder at the church.
 
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. James Michael's officiating.  Burial will be in Sand Ridge Cemetery, Bascom.
 
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Turner Engle Funeral Home, Tiffin. and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
 
Memorials may be made to the church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
GOODALE, JAMES  A.
 
James A. Goodale, 62, of W. Twp. Rd. 1020, Tiffin, died at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003. He was born May 24, 1940 in Fostoria to Blaine and Mary (Coleman) Goodale.
 
Surviving: Special Friends and Caregivers-Mary Rohrbach, and Ellen Miller, both of Tiffin; two daughters, Tammy Hook and Julie Capetillo, both of Fostoria; two brothers, Roger Goodale of Terra Haute, Ind., and Bernard Goodale of Findlay; six sisters, Bev Petticos of Marblehead, Bernita Gerwin of Spain, Shirley Bulkowski, Connie Kiser, Gloria Wagner, and Gigi Hart, all of Fostoria; and 11 grandchildren.
 
Preceded in death were: His Parents; a daughter, Tina Dyer; two brothers, Richard and Jack Goodale; and two sisters, Eleanore Sheridan, and Bessie Gee.
 
Mr. Goodale was a member of the Fremont Eagles Club; Tiffin Moose and Am Vets.
 
Graveside Services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria following visitation, with The Rev. Russell Gumm officiating.
 
Visitation 2 hours prior to service, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home.
 
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Tiffin.
GILLETT, GLADYS GAY
Mother of Fostorian
 
Gladys Gay Gillett, 90, formerly of Burkholder Road, Clyde, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, in Elmwood Nursing Home, Green Springs.
 
She was born Feb. 19, 1912, in Vickery to John and Emma Catherine (Wiley) Churchill. She married John A. Gillett Nov. 23, 1932; and he died march 11, 1983.
 
Survivors include: three sons, David of Carmel, Ind., Victor of Fostoria, and Gerald of Onaway, Mich.; a daughter, Carolyn Billings of Clyde; 17 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, with interment in Ellsworth Cemetery.
 
Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
FEW, MILDRED  G.
 
FOSTORIA -- Mildred G. Few, 101, of Fostoria, died at 3:18 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003 at  Independence House, Fostoria.
 
  She was born Sept. 2, 1901 in West Millgrove to Charles W. and Dessie (Gray) Cline. She married Charles C. Few on April 12, 1929, and he died Jan. 22, 1973.
 
  Surviving is a foster daughter, Ann Bodi, Port Clinton.
 
  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman and Donald Cline.
 
  Mrs. Few was a retired school teacher, having taught at Perry Township Center, Fostoria and Risingsun  (Lakota) schools.
 
  She was a 1919 graduate of Fostoria High School, and a graduate of Bowling Green Normal School,  now Bowling Green State University.
 
  She was a member of West Millgrove Congregational Church and its Women's Fellowship, Daughters of  Union Veterans and Paramount Garden Club.
 
  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne, the Rev. James Holl  officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove.
 
  Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
 
  Memorials may be made to the church.
FIRESTINE, C. EUGENE
 
  Funeral services for C. Eugene "Gene" Firestine, 81, of 128 Springbrook Drive, will be held at 1:30 p.m.  Friday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, the Rev. James Tussing officiating. Burial will be in Bechtel  Cemetery, Van Buren.
 
  Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
 
  Mr. Firestine died at 6:26 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2003 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.
 
  He was born Aug. 23, 1921 in Leipsic to Cleveland C. and Ava (Shirk) Firestine. He married Eileen  Louise Scarr on Feb. 25, 1944 in Van Buren, and she survives.
 
  Also surviving are a son, Lynn E. of Findlay; three daughters, Mrs. David A. (Wanda J.) Cusac and Mrs.  Phil (Linda E.) Dick, both of Findlay; Mrs. Doug (Connie L.) Alge, Charleston, S.C.; three  grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence of Fostoria.
 
  Mr. Firestine was a retired farmer. He also retired in 1987 as a Van Buren school bus driver after 28  years.
 
  He was a 1939 graduate of Van Buren High School, and received the State Farm degree as a junior.
 
  He was a former member of Van Buren United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday school  teacher and superintendent; and a former 4-H leader of Millstream Farmers.
 
  Memorials may be made to Adult Day Center Alzheimer's Respite Care Society or a charity of the  donor's choice.
FRANKART, JAN  D.
 
Jan D. Frankart, 38, of Marion Melmore Rd., Sycamore, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2003, at her home.
 
She was born Aug. 13, 1964, in Tiffin, to Ross and Janet (Hawk) Main.
 
Surviving are: her parents, Ross and Janet Main of Fostoria; a brother, Jay (Tasha) Frankart of Fostoria; a sister, Mrs. Brian "June" Coppus of Arcadia; a niece, Kylee Frankart of Fosstoria; a nephew, Cole Coppus of Arcadia; a step brother, Todd Main and a step sister, Tricia Main, both of Bucyrus; a  half brother, Raymond Frankart of Florida; and a half sister, Jody Frankart of Tiffin.
 
Preceding her in death was a sister, Joy Frankart.
 
Ms. Frankart was a 1982 graduate of Hopewell Loudon High School. She was employed as a machine operator at Timkin,
Co. in Bucyrus.
 
She was a member of Bascom United Methodist Church.
 
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Bascom United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hal Keeton officiating. Inurnment will take place at Knollcrest Gardens in Arcadia.
 
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Echelberry, Kay Ellen

FOSTORIA -- Kay Ellen Echelberry, 69, formerly of East Crocker Street, Fostoria, died at 6:23 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003, in SunBridge of West Toledo.

She was born April 28, 1933, in Fostoria, to the late Harvey Jay and Sarah Ellen (Yontz) Willison. Her husband, Lynn Elwyn Echelberry, whom she married May 3, 1952, in the First Evangelical United Brethren Church, Fostoria, survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Lynette) Titus of Waterville; three sons, Rod (Sue) Echelberry, Brad (Pam) Echelberry and Jay (Kathy) Echelberry, all of Fostoria; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Rod (Diane) Baum of Teaneck, N.J.

A grandson, Ryan Titus, also is deceased.

A homemaker and former school librarian with the Fostoria Community Schools, Mrs. Echelberry was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria, where she served on the Chancel Committee and was a member of the Sewing Circle at the church. She also was a member of the Fostoria Emblem Club, where she was past president and had held many offices.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, in Hope Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dr. Larry Knigga officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, near Arcadia.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, April 18, in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria and one hour before the service Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Day Break of Fostoria or Hope Lutheran Church.


Foster, Herbert

Herbert Foster, 83, of Lexington, Ky., and formerly of Fostoria, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, Ky.

He was born Nov. 15, 1919, in West Millgrove, to Harry and Iva (Spurgeon) Foster. He married Glenna Caskie April 10, 1937. She survives in Lexington.

Other survivors include: a son, Dennis Foster of Lexington, Ky.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Foster Snyder of Risingsun.

Mr. Foster was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, where he served on the USS Daly for four years.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, at Sandridge Cemetery in Bascom. Burial will be in Sandridge Cemetery.

The Mann-Hare Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.


Good, Priscilla V.

Priscilla V. Good, 82, of Washington, Mo., died Monday, April 21, 2003, at her home.

She was born Oct. 16, 1920, in Fostoria, to the late Ernest R. and Celia L. (Flechtner) Dicken. On Aug. 16, 1942, in Upland, Ind., she married Clayton L. Good. He died June 2, 1973.

Surviving are: a son, Roger D. Good, of Somers, Mont.; a daughter, Phyllis Sullentrup, of Washington, Mo.; a brother, Ernest "Buddy" Dicken Jr., of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sisters, Nellie Bowman and Betty Harrison, both of Fostoria.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.


Gregory, Dorothy A.

Dorothy A. Gregory, 82, of E. SR 18, Tiffin, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Republic, to the late Roy and Edna (Miller) Echelberry. She married Richard Adams in Fostoria. He died in 1972. She later married Lajoie Gregory in Florida. He died in 1990.

Surviving are: two brothers, Leonard Echelberry of Tiffin and D. Ray (Norma) Echelberry of Bellevue; a sister, Mrs. Gordon (Kathryn) Heckerd of Republic; a stepson, John (Ann) Gregory of Tiffin; a stepdaughter, Janet (Herbert) Wyandt of Waterville; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was a brother, Daryl Echelberry.

Mrs. Gregory graduated from Scipio Republic High School in 1938 and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Moose Auxiliary 1001 in Tiffin, American Legion Women's Auxiliary in Republic, Police and Fireman's Retirees and Allen Eiry Senior Citizens. She was also a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2003, in Arcadia Memory Gardens with the Rev. John M. Halstead officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church or Republic United Church of Christ.

Geiger, Wilma Juanita

Wilma Juanita (Brookover) Geiger, 88, Lost Creek Care Center, Lima, died Sunday, May 4, 2003 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born October 21, 1914 to Charles Henry Brookover and Amy (Van Dyne) Brookover in Williamstown, Wood County, West Virginia. She married Robert Paul Geiger, a Ford Motor Company Retiree, in Fostoria, Ohio October 21, 1935. Together they operated a restaurant in Ada for many years. He preceded her in death in February, 1978.

She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Kissling, Fostoria; a son, Ronald Eugene Geiger, Lima; a daughter, Barbara Jeannine (Bobbie Jean) Geiger-Bowers, Waverly, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Nadine (Geiger) Collier, North Muskegon, Mich.; Teresa (Geiger) Burk, Huber Heights, Ohio; Rhonda (Geiger) Salisbury, Lima; Angela (Geiger) May, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.; David Geiger, Hilliard, Ohio; Jenny (Bowers) Monday and Liza (Bowers) Trainer, Waverly, Ohio; Elaine (Bowers) Miller, Arlington; Michael Bowers and Nichole Battle, Lima; twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Samantha Salisbury.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, Ohio. Visitation will precede the service from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Interment will be at Memorial Park, Lima at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a favorite charity.


Finsel, Jane H. 'Jean'

FOSTORIA -- Jane H. "Jean" Finsel, 69, of 214 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, died suddenly Monday evening in Fostoria Community Hospital, June 2, 2003.

She was born Sept. 23, 1933, in Greenock, Scotland. On March 2, 1957, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. she married Duane J. Finsel. He survives.

Also surviving are: four sons, Stephen J. (Deb) Finsel of West Millgrove, Scott A. (Shari) Finsel of Columbus, Stuart A. (Amy) O'Brien of Chicago, Ill., and Sean M. (Keena) Finsel of Raleigh, N.C.; six grandchildren, Roxanne, Grace, Adam, Anna, Elaine, and Ethan Finsel, that she loved dearly; a brother, Fred Clarke; a sister, Jackie Clarke, both of England; and an aunt, Marion O'Brien, of Greenock, Scotland, who helped raise Jean.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Crawford and a daughter, Sheena Finsel.

Jean was a part-time waitress, and homemaker. She also had worked at Quality Farm and Fleet in Findlay and Fostoria for 9 years.

She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 430, Women of the Moose Chapter 154. Jean was an avid reader. She also enjoyed playing card and gambling.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria, where a Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery in Fostoria.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria, 419-435-8200, where a Christian Wake service will be take place at 8:30 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Wendelin Schools Educational Foundation, American Lung Association, or a charity of the donor's choice.


Fisher, Lloyd

Lloyd E. Fisher, 83, of Findlay, died 8:51 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
He was a 1937 graduate of Arcadia High School and a member of First United Brethren Church.

He retired in 1984 as a foreman from Staley's, formerly Swift and Co. During retirement he worked as a Fleet Coordinator and Driver for Findlay Ford. He was a World War II, 9th Division, U.S. Army Veteran where he was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, with 8 Bronze Stars and 1 Bronze Arrowhead.

He married Wanda J. (Kunkelman) on November 7, 1941 in Fostoria, and she preceded him in death on February 4, 1998. Also preceding him in death were sons Jack and Allen Fisher; daughter Connie Sauder; brother Paul R. Fisher. He is survived by daughters Mrs. Steven H. (Sandra J.) Mrs. Edgington died at 5:38 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003 at her residence.

Born December 29, 1914 in Forest to Henry and Lola (Brown) Buess, she married L. Merritt "Bo" Edgington on April 12, 1936 and he died October 19, 1964.

Surviving are a daughter, Sally (John) Tinsman, Fostoria; two sisters, Isabelle Marquart, Arlington; and Agnes Crates, Ada; four grandchildren, Nancy (Tony) Lipscomb, Bucyrus; Eric (Terri) and Julie Tinsman, both of Mansfield; and Amy Tinsman, Fostoria; and one great granddaughter, Sarah Lipscomb, Bucyrus.

Preceding her in death are four brothers, Fred, John and Floyd Buess, and Roy Burnett; three sisters, Thelma Baker, Nina Exline and Ruthanna Buess; and a great grandson, Stephen Lipscomb.

A 1933 graduate of Forest High School, she was a retired librarian employed at Jackson Library, Forest, she was a former operator of Edgington Dryt Cleaning, Forest. She was also a member of Lehman Zimmerman American Legion Auxiliary Post 259 and E et 40, Pythian Sisters 75, Forest United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the former financial secretary at the Forest United Methodist Church, Pinochle Club, Latham Chapter OES 70, Kenton. She was also a former Board of Election Member, Forest.

Elder, Clarice M.

Clarice M. Elder, 86, of Mesa, Ariz., and formerly of Bloomdale, died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2003, at Mayfair Care Home in Mesa, Ariz., following an 11 year illness.

He was born March 21, 1917, in Bloomdale, to DeWitt and Sylvia Simon. On July 28, 1938, in Plain City, Ohio, she married Eldon E. Elder. He survives in Mesa, Ariz.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Leanna Shaberly of Phoenix, Ariz.; a granddaughter; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Earl O. Simon of Swayzee, Ind.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township in Wood Co.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.


Ferguson, Billie

FOSTORIA -- Billie Ferguson, 69, of Fostoria, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Independence House in Fostoria.

He was born April 20, 1934, in Spartanburg, S.C., to Mills French and Irene Ferguson. He married Jimmie Jeter (now Jimmie Hunter) on July 15, 1958, and they were divorced. Mrs. Hunter survives in Fostoria. Also surviving are: eight sons, Billie Jr., Brian K. and Brad Ferguson, all of Fostoria, David Bernal of Toledo, Michael Patterson of Columbus, Brent Lentz and Brice Fuller, both of Fostoria; two daughters, Marilyn Ferguson-Riser and Marie Ferguson-Yeargin of Woodruff, S.C.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maureen Gray of South Carolina and Daisy Floyd of California.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

FOSTORIA -- Jeffrey A. Fry, 37, of 107 S. Grant St., Fostoria, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, in Findlay.

He was born Aug. 4, 1965, in Orange County, Fla., to John Fry of Dublin and Jean (Rasp) Frankart of Fostoria.

Surviving are his parents; a son, Jeffrey A. Fry, II; a sister, Christina Walter; and his former wife, Mary Hernandez, all of Fostoria.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at River of Life Ministries Church in Fostoria. Private burial will be at a later date.

Betty Jean (Rose) Elkington, 73, Las Vegas, Nev. and formerly of Fostoria, died June 19, 2003 at her home.

Surviving are her husband Thomas Elkington, a son Jeffery Elkington, a daughter Vickie a brother Mervin Rose, Port Clinton OH. and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Saturday at the UNiversity Methodist Church in Las Vagas, Nev.

FOSTORIA -- A memorial service for Helen M. Glaser, a resident of Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, and formerly of Culbertson Street, Fostoria, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel at Good Shepherd Home. Burial will be in Ft. Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg.

Mrs. Glaser died at 4:08 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at Fostoria Community Hospital.

Robert W. Elliot, 50, of Risingsun, died at 3:22 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2003, at his residence.

He was born May 4, 1953, in Fostoria, to Robert G. and Marcella (Emerine) Elliot. His father died in 1998, and his mother survives in Risingsun.

Also surviving are: a brother, Michael J. Elliot of Risingsun; two sisters, Linda L. Albert of Risingsun and Becky S. McConaha, of Kansas.

Gase, Gracemarie

Gracemarie Gase, 86, passed away on August 7, 2003 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.

Born Sept. 5, 1916 in Putnam County to Perry L. and Ina G. (Higley) Parker, she married Orville R. Vermillion in 1933, and he died in 1959. She then married Virgil M. Gase in 1964 and he died May 24, 1990.

Surviving are two sons, Neil Vermillion of rural Findlay; Dan Vermillion of Findlay; a daughter, Rose Wickert, Tucson, Ariz.; and a sister, Doris Oman, Dublin. Gracemarie is also survived by two step-sons, George Gase, Alcujune, Calif.; Robert Gase, Fostoria; and three step-daughters, Kathy Miller and Betty Lou Brink, both of Findlay; and Virginia Gase, Tiffin. She was the proud grandmother of numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are a brother, Marion Parker; a great-granddaughter; a step-son, William Gase; and a step-daughter, Mary Bame.

She was retired from the former R.C.A. of Findlay and the F. C. Russell Company of Pandora. She was a lifetime member of the Eagles of Fostoria.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.

KANSAS, Ohio -- Shirley A. Flagg, 68, of Ohio 635, Kansas, Ohio, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003 at her residence.

Born Nov. 17, 1934 in Shilo to Loren and Dorothy (Mock) McElhaney, she married Martin D. Flagg on Oct. 25, 1953 in Kansas, Ohio, and he survives.

Also surviving are her mother, Dorothy McElhaney, Fremont; a daughter, Cindy Flagg, Kansas, Ohio; two sons, Mark of New Bloomington; and Kevin (Cheri) of Elmore; and a sister, Mrs. Roland (Barbara) Hutchins, Fostoria; five grandchildren, a step-grandchild and two great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is her father, Loren McElhaney.

A 1952 graduate of Jackson Liberty High School, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 94, Fostoria; Kansas K of P Ladies, Kansas Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Kansas United Methodist Church Women's Society, and was Past Treasurer of Kansas United Methodist Church. She was also an Avon saleswoman for 17 years.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Ivan Schwenn officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.

Miss Fleta M. Feasel, 86, of 725 Columbus Ave., Fostoria, formerly of Poplar Street in Bascom, died at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Bascom, Hopewell Township, to Aaron and Rosa (Myers) Feasel.

She is survived by: a sister, Lena Chapman of Columbus; nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were: her parents, Aaron and Rosa Feasel; two brothers, Leroy Feasel and Warren Feasel; and three sisters, Grace Barnet, Daisy Littlen and Helen Hoover.

Miss Feasel was a member of Bascom United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Bascom schools. She was a homemaker.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at Bascom United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hal Keeton officiating. Burial will be in Sand Ridge Cemetery.

Farris, Berniece

Berniece (Radcliff) (Rinebold) Farris passed away on October 4, 2003 at Kingston of Perrysburg.

She was born February 10, 1909 in Kansas, Ohio to Albert and Mary Radcliff. She graduated in 1927 from Jackson High School in Kansas, Ohio. In 1929 she married Willard Rinebold, who preceded her in death in 1970. In 1976 she married James Farris, who passed away in 1997.

Berniece was also preceded in death by her brothers Willard (Bill) Donald and Max; sisters, Wilda Radcliff and Marqurite Miller' and son-in-law Robert Sears.

She is survived by here sister Elsie Strausbaugh of Tiffin, and brother Dale Radcliff of Fostora. She is also survived by her daughter,m Mary Jo Sears of Bowling Green, her two granddaughters Diane (Dale) Gibson of Maumee and Ami (Greg) Noble of Bowling Green, and a great-grandchildren Lindsay and Erin Gibson and Andrew and Erica Noble.

Private graveside services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery on Friday, October 10.

Greer, Nevada

Nevada Greer, age 77, a resident of the Judson Palmer Home died at 3:41 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2003.

She was born on Dec. 22, 1925 to McCoy and Alice (Robbins) Thompson in Pineville, KY. She married Jack L. Greer on Feb. 3, 1946 and he passed in 1969.

Surviving are six children; Gary (Betty) Greer of Findlay, Nina K. (Lauren) VanScoit of Perrysburg, Michael L. (Laura K.) Greer of Findlay, Debbie (James) Eisentrager of Findlay, Alice M. (Allan) Young of Lakeview and Kimerly D. (Travas) Higgins also of Findlay, twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, Almon Thompson of Dayton, and four sisters, Zella Yoakam of North Baltimore, Alice Christopher of Findlay, Lorene Pratt of Fostoria and Freda of KY.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal and Norma Jean.

Mrs. Greer was a homemaker and had attended First Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor William Reist of College First Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, McComb.

UPPER SANDUSKY -- Charlotte A. "Oma" Graw, 92, formerly of Fostoria, died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003 at Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky.

She was born Dec. 11, 1910 in Hermadorf, Germany, to Oscar and Emma Lindner. She married Erich Graw on March 11, 1933 in West Berlin, Germany, and he died March 26, 1974.

Surviving are two daughters, Gisela Hunt, Upper Sandusky; and Hildegard (Josef) Cramer, Fostoria; a son, Manfred (Barb) of Fostoria; two sisters living in Germany, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are two brothers; and a son-in-law, Terry Hunt.

Mrs. Graw was a homemaker and did housekeeping in Fostoria, where she lived since 1955.

Fittro, Marvalene D. "Marvy"

Marvalene "Marvy" D. Fittro, 67, Frederick, Md. and formerly of 416 Ash Street, died Saturday Oct. 18, 2003 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md., due to complications of diabetes and heard disease.

She was born Sept. 23, 1936 in Fostoria, where she lived until 2002, to warren E. and hazel (Flugga) Reynolds. She married William R. Fittro on Aug. 11, 1955 and they divorced in 1975. He died in 1991.

Surviving are a daughter, Holly Ann Bellows, Frederick, Md., and a brother, Duane E. (Eileen) Reynolds, New Riegel.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a infant half-brother, Paul.

A 1954 graduate of Fostoria High School, Marvy worked for John B. Rogers Producing company, a theatrical production company based in Fostoria. She worked there as a stenographer until 1962 and for a brief time later in 1969. In 1975 she was employed as an accounting clerk at The Gray Printing Company in Fostoria until her retirement in 1995.

Since the mid-1960's, she practiced organic gardening, loved dogs, was an avid reader of historical fiction and mysteries, and adept at discussing politics and current events.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003 at St. James Episcopal Church, Mount, Airy, Md. The officiant will be Rev. Portia Hirschman, Rector.

There will be no visitation.

Clarence E. Gray, 77, formerly of Stinchcomb Drive of Fostoria, died at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, in St. Catherine's Care Center.

He was born May 23, 1926, in Briceton to Sharon and Nora (Lehman) Gray. He married Kathryn J. Weber May 23, 1975, in Paulding.

Survivors include: his wife of Fostoria; two sons, Edwin Gray of New Haven, Ind., and Daniel Gray of Parker, S.D.; two stepsons, Blayne and Scott Kreais both of Fostoria; three stepdaughters, Joslynn Roush of Fostoria, Sonya Ruiz of Van Buren and Barbara Jones of Liberty Center; three grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a step-grandchild; a brother, Raymond Gary of Paulding; and a sister, Caroline Goodwin of Hilliard.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with burial in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Mrs. Guillen died at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at her residence.

She was born on June 2, 1935 in Orrville, Ohio to the late Leonard Frias, Sr. and Kathryn "Chiania" (Catrone) Frias. She married Sam A. Guillen on September 1, 1956 in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.

Survivors include her husband, Sam of Fostoria; two sons, Sam and Douglas, both of Fostoria; a daughter, Karen S. Guillen, Fostoria; two brothers, Joseph A. Frias and Leonard Frias Jr., both of Fostoria; and three sisters, Mrs. Valdemar (Virginia) Davila, Mrs. Gerald (Leona) Reinhart and Victoria M. Frias, all of Fostoria.

One sister Patricia Cupp preceded her in death

Mrs. Guillen was an office manager at the National Electric Carbon Credit Union, Fostoria, for the past 18 years. She also worked in the office at the former Chrysler Foundry in Fostoria for 21 years retiring in 1980.

She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and was a 1953 graduate of St. Wendelin High School.

Mrs. Guillen enjoyed traveling and camping and was an avid fan of both the Cleveland Browns and Indians. She lived for her family and loved dearly her husband, children grandchildren brothers, and sisters.

Grove, Paul E.

Paul E. Grove, 90, of Fostoria, died Friday morning, Nov. 7, 2003, at his residence.

He was born July 12, 1913, in Norwalk to John W. and Laura L. (Joseph) Grove. He married Rachel Mae Young June 24, 1945, in Fostoria and she died June 21, 2003.

Survivors include: a daughter, Paulette Sue Thorp of Fostoria, and three grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific Theater. He attained the rank of sergeant, his duty lasting from March 1941-June 1945. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Military rites by the United Veterans of Fostoria will precede the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Judith "Judy" Gorrill, 64, of Angela Drive, Fostoria, died at 10:35 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, in her home.

She was born Sept. 1, 1939, in Fostoria to Manford and Matilda (Solomon) Woodland and they are deceased. She married James D. Gorrill Jan. 18, 1959, in First Baptist Church, Fostoria; and he survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: a son, James Gorrill of Southfield, Mich.; a daughter, Janel Behm of Tiffin; three grandchildren; two brothers, Jack B. Woodland of Fostoria, and Jerry Woodland of Findlay; and a sister Jo Ann Shoemaker of Bucyrus.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with burial in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.


Eddington, Frank W.

FOSTORIA -- Frank W. Eddington, 71, formerly of East Jones Street, Fostoria, died at 7:25 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003 at Independence House, Fostoria.

He was born June 8, 1932 in Findlay to William and Adelene (Filliater) Eddington. He married Barbara Bentz and they were divorced. He then married Sandra Pritt Aug. 8, 1988 in Fostoria and she survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Frank and Tod, both of Carey; and John of Fostoria; four daughters, Carolyn Faith, New Riegel; Georgia Heffelfinger and Tonia Roark, both of Carey; and Amy Eddington, Mansfield; a stepson, William Pritt, Fostoria; a stepdaughter, Roxann Haney, Valley Head, W.Va.; five brothers, Richard of New Riegel; David, Donald and Kenneth, all of Findlay; and Robert of Arlington; four sisters, Ethel Decker, Norma Riker and Kay Stover, all of Findlay; and Salley Pugh, Dunkirk; and 21 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents and two brothers, Keith and Roger.

Mr. Eddington retired from Seneca Wire in 1994 after 31 years of service. He attended Trinity United Brethren Church, Fostoria.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Keith Davis officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.


Faylor, Josiah 'Bill'

BLOOMDALE -- Josiah William "Bill" Faylor, 86, formerly of Bloomdale, died at 10:17 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003 at Independence House, Fostoria, where he was a resident.

Born Aug. 17, 1917 in Fostoria to the late Charles A. and Alcie (Stearns) Faylor, he married Eva Jeanette Topping on April 29, 1939 in Rudolph and she died May 26, 1993.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Janet) Dunn, Fostoria; and Mrs. Donald (Jean) Luman, Lewiston, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Chip Luman, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Amber Molloy, Lansdale, Pa.; Laurel Perini, Cordova, Tenn.; Robyn Brenner, Susan Dunn and Mark Dunn, all of Fostoria; and Greg Dunn, Sandusky; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Faylor retired in 1982 from the quality control department at Atlas, Fostoria, after 30 years of employment. He was a graduate of Bloomdale High School and attended The Ohio State University. Mr. Faylor was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bloomdale. Farming was Bill's pride and joy, as he was a longtime Wood County farmer. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and was a 4-H advisor. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, attending auctions and collecting antiques following his retirement.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. David Miller officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Geiser, Linda L.

FOSTORIA -- Linda L. Geiser, 61, of Fostoria, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003 at the Toledo Hospital.

Surviving are her husband, Thad W. Jr. of Fostoria; mother, Yuta Jones, Clyde; a son, Michael of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Michelle) Durst, Kansas, Ohio; two brothers, Lynn Howard Jones, Port Clinton; and Lyle Allen Jones, Dover, Del.; and a sister, Mrs. Walter (Laura Lee) Geiser, Toledo.

There will be no services or visitation.

Fraver, Florence M.

FOSTORIA -- Florence M. Fraver, 95, a resident of Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria, and formerly of College Avenue, Fostoria, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003 at her residence.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Lila) Switzer, Fostoria; and Mrs. Charles (Marilyn) Anderson, Haysville, N.C.; and two sisters, Frieda Reiss and Mrs. Paul (Martha) Fox, both of Fostoria.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Fostoria, the Rev. Jim Michaels officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, near Fostoria.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, and an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the church or the nursing home.


Earl, Ervin L.

CAREY -- Ervin L. Earl, 84, of 109 Zanetta Lane, Carey, and formerly of rural McCutchenville, died at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2003 at his residence.

Surviving are his wife, Betty R. Earl, Carey; two sons, Charles of Downingtown, Pa.; and David of Tiffin; a daughter, Mrs. David (Karen) Stombaugh, Carey; four sisters, Ethel Peter, New Reigel; Mrs. Don (Sarah) Speildenner, Fremont; Dorothy Margraf, Arcadia; and Mrs. Paul (Edith) Vogel, Fostoria; and three brothers, Ray of Carey; Paul of Tiffin; and Dean of Findlay.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville, the Revs. Roy Howell and Louis Dorsch officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville.

Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before services Thursday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, where a Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
