Bevon A. Painter, Sr.
Food brokerage semi-retiree

Bevon A. Painter Sr., 70, of North Main Street, Fostoria, died at 3:05 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Celina, to Bevon G. and Deliah E. (McGough) Painter. His wife, DeaJo Hutchins, whom he married Nov. 22, 1953, in Angola, Ind., survives in Fostoria.

Survivors also include: a son, Bevon A. Painter Jr. of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (DeAnn M.) LaCourse of Fostoria; a brother, Thomas Painter of Fostoria; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Hatfield and Mrs. Ron (Sally) Harden, both of Fostoria; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A sister, Judy Allson, is deceased.

Mr. Painter, a 1946 Fostoria High School graduate, was semi-retired from the food brokerage business and had been employed, most recently, at Paul InmanInc. of Toledo.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Fostoria.

The Rev. Russell Gumm will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday service in the First Church of the Nazarene. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia.

Visitation at the funeral home is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

 

 

Jean (James) Parsons
Bendix retiree

Jean (James) Parsons, 72, of 218 Salem St., Risingsun, died in the Fostoria Community Hospital at 1:16 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998.

Born Sept. 5, 1926, in Inez, Ky., to Allen W. and Wilda (Horn) James, she married Richard A. Parsons, March 30, 1945, in Risingsun. He preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1980.

Survivors include: her companion, Art Mynard of Risingsun; two brothers, John B. James of Valley Falls, KS, and Jack M. James of Bradner; a sister, Myrtle Yoder of Fremont; and three special nieces, Marcia Boice, Jan Heaver and Marcie Williams.

Also preceding her in death were a brother, James A. James; and two sisters, Anna Laura Burkett and Susie M. Cassady.

A member of the Risingsun Fire Department Auxiliary and Local 533 Retirees, Mrs. Parsons retired in 1974 as an assembler from Bendix (now Allied Signal) in Fostoria, where she had been employed for 30 years.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, with the Rev. Ivan L. Schwenn officiating. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to the Risingsun Fire Department Auxiliary or St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Risingsun.

 

 

Paula S. Parsons
Owens Corning laborer

Paula S. Parsons, 22, of Tiffin, died Friday, Oct. 23, 1998, at her grandmother's home in Fostoria.

She was born in Butler, Pa., Sept. 14, 1976, to Danny Parsons and Melissa (Fleming) Lyon. Her father survives in Luckey and her mother and stepfather, Terry Lyon, survive in Tiffin.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Shayla B. Parsons Spiegner of Tiffin; six siblings, Debbie Parsons of Luckey, Danielle M. Parsons of Toledo, Haleigh and Kindsey Parsons, both of Moline, and R.J. and Logan Lyon, both of Tiffin; her grandparents, Paul and Judy Sensabaugh of Fostoria, Dorothy Fleming and Paul Parsons, both of Findlay; and step-grandmother, Faye Lyon of Tiffin.

A laborer at Owens Corning, Ms. Parsons attended the First Presbyterian Church, Tiffin.

Services in the Marsh Funeral Home, Luckey, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Richard Mahlman officiating. Interment will be in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society of America.

 

 

Sophie Pellitteri
Fostoria homemaker

Sophie Pellitteri, 84, of 725 Columbus Ave., Fostoria, died at 10:45 Friday, May 1, 1998, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 2, 1914, in New York City, to the late Joseph and Concetta (Scorrari) Pellitteri. She never married.

A niece, Tina Earl of Fostoria, survives.

Her parents, a brother and three sisters prececed her in death.

A memorial Mass will be offered at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the nursing home, with Father Jose Corral officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Arrangements are being handled by Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel.

 

 

Ariana Gizella Perkins
4-year-old daughter

Ariana Gizella Perkins, 4-years-old, of 176 E. Fremont St., Fostoria, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998, in an automobile accident on US 23 in Fostoria.

She was born July 11, 1994, in Fostoria, to Derwin D. Perkins of Toledo and the late Erica Marie Tey (who also died in the auto accident).

Also surviving are a sibling, Tyshea L. Perkins of Fostoria; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Noe C. (Delia) Tey of Fostoria and Mrs. Ethel Perkins of Toledo; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos (Delfina) Tey of Sycamore, Domingo Martinez of Gonzales, Texas and Mrs. Alicia Martinez of Fostoria; and a great-great-grandmother, Mrs. Margarita DeLeon of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Ariana attended the Church of the Good Shepherd in Wayne.

Services in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Ron Merritt officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Carl Peter
Flower/gift shop owner/operator

Carl Peter, 85, of Loudon Meadows Drive, Fostoria, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 1998, in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.

He was born in Cridersville, Sept. 30, 1913, to Carl R. and Rhoenna M. (Spees) Peter. On Aug. 22, 1932, in Fostoria, he married Helen A. Page, who survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: two sons, Robert Peter of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and Richard Peter of Fostoria; two grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a step-great-grandchild.

Preceding him in death were a brother, Richard Peter; and a grandchild.

Mr. Peter, along with his wife, owned and operated the Flower and Gift Shop on South Main Street in Fostoria 1962-91.

A 1931 graduate of Fostoria High School, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria.

Services in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. R. Edson Reed officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

 

 

Charles H. Peter
Former Fostoria resident

Charles H. Peter, 79, of 12050 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, died at 5 a.m. Friday, May 8, 1998, in Lodge Care Center, Cincinnati. He was a former resident of Fostoria.

He was born July 29, 1918, in Canada, to Earl and Clara (Hakes) Peter, who are deceased. His spouse, Dorothy E. (Gossard) Peter, whom he married Oct. 31, 1940, in Fostoria, survives.

Other survivors are: a son, Daniel Peter of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Diane E.Smile of Cincinnati; three grandchildren; a brother, Lowell J. Peter of Fostoria; and a sister, Lois Bentz, also of Fostoria.

An Army veteran, Mr. Peter was a retired switchman for the C&O Railroad and a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arcadia.

The Rev. David Bliss will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria.

Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday and 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Mary Rose Peter
Resident of Fostoria

Mary Rose Peter, 71, 9231 W. TR 112, Fostoria, died at 6:26 a.m. Friday, April 10, 1998, at Mercy Hospital, Tiffin.

She was born July 8, 1926, in Berwick to Edward N. and Hilda C. (Wickelman) Reinhart. Both are deceased. On Aug. 17, 1946, she married Raymond F. Peter in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown. He survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Francis Peter of Albuquerque, N.M., David Peter of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Michael Peter of Gibsonburg; three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Aileen) Schreiner of Fostoria, Mrs. James (Kathleen) McManus of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Ronald (Theresa) Sheets of Fostoria; three brothers, Lawrence Reinhart of Oregon, Ohio, Wendelin Reinhart of Bloomville and Eugene Reinhart

of Willard; a sister, Bernadine Reitzel of Genoa; 21 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Nichols and Leona Reinhart, and a brother, Joseph Reinhart.

Mrs. Peter was a homemaker and retired from Copeland. She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, and its Rosary Altar Society, and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Fostoria.

The Rev. David Bruning will officiate the noon Monday service at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom. Burial will be at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Frenchtown.

Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, and one hour prior to Mass at the church Monday. A Christian Wake Service will be at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom.

 

 

Jeannette Louise Phillips
Owner and Operator of a children's clothing store

A funeral Mass for Jeannette Louise Phillips, 91, formerly of 615 Foster St., Fostoria, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. A Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, and the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Phillips died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

She was born May 13, 1907, in Tiffin, to Edward and Dais Mae (Myler) Flechtner. She married William A. Phillips on June 18, 1932, in Tiffin, and he died Feb. 27, 1961.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Kuhn, Fostoria; two grandaughters; and a brother, Edward, Tiffin.

She was also preceded by a sister, Gayle Stutz; and five brothers, Byron, Paul, James, Ned and Bill.

Mrs. Phillips was a 1925 graduate of Columbian High School, Tiffin, and was the owner and operator of a children's clothing store, Jeannette's Little Folks Shop, for 35 years in Fostoria.

She was also a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.

Mabel F. Phillips
Union Carbide retiree

Mabel F. Phillips, 91, died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, 725 Columbus Ave., Fostoria, where she resided.

She was born in Fostoria, Feb. 8, 1907, to Harry Wilbur and Eva (Graves) Lambright. She first married Ted Noel, Aug. 8, 1940, in Maryland and he preceded her in death in 1959. On Dec. 2, 1961, in Bloomville, she married her second husband, William E. Phillips. He survives in Fostoria.

Survivors also include: a step-son, William C. Phillips of Patriot, Ohio; and a step-daughter, Mrs. Marlene Morel of Fort Myers, Fla.

Also preceding her in death were a step-son, Don Olin; and two brothers, George and Jessie Lambright.

Mrs. Phillips retired in 1968 from the Union Carbide, Fostoria, after 45 years of employment as a technician's assistant.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Elks Lodge 935, both of Fostoria, and the Denderah, Toledo.

The Rev. R. Edson Reed will be the officiant at the 2:30 p.m. Tuesday service in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 1:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

William E. Phillips
Union Carbide Corp. retiree

William E. Phillips, 90, of West South Street, Fostoria, died at 4:38 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.

He was born in Middletown, Pa., Dec. 2, 1907, to Ervin and Bertha (Stark) Phillips. On May 18, 1929, in Elyria, he married Geraldine Kline. She died July9, 1961. He married Mable (Lambright) Noel Dec. 1, 1962, in Bloomville. She died Sept. 19, 1998.

Surviving are: a son, William C. of Patriot, Ohio; a daughter, Merlene K. Morel of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a brother, Donald Phillips of Canton; a sister, Helen Wickens of Lorain; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Harry and Earl, and a sister, Edna Bailey, are deceased.

A 1926 graduate of Lorain High School, Mr. Phillips retired in 1968, after 35 years, from the Union Carbide Corp. in Fostoria, where he had been employed as a yard superintendent. He had attended Washington College, Washington, Pa.

He was a member of the Fostoria Lodge 288 Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, Zenobia Shrine of Toledo and Fostoria Eagles Lodge 430.

Services in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. R. Edson Reed officiating. Interment will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Lorain.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, where Masonic memorial services will be at 7.

Shirley A. Pinskey

Funeral services for Shirley A. Pinskey, 59, of Fostoria, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. T.A. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pinskey died at 2:32 p.m. Saturday, July 4, 1998, at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas.

She was born Oct. 28, 1938 in Fostoria to Virgil and Pauline (Mason) Jackson. She married Lowell D. Pinskey, and he preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Thomas in Texas; four grandchildren; two brothers, Norman W. and Harold Jackson, both of Fostoria; a half brother, Gene Peters, Cleveland; and two sisters, Phyllis Miller, Fostoria; Geraldine Tanner, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert and Virgil Duane Jackson.

Mrs. Pinskey was a laborer.

Lowell C. Prater
Atlas Crankshaft machine operator

Lowell C. Prater, 62, of 1024 Breezewood Court, Findlay, died at 9:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, in Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 19, 1935, in Salyersville, Ky., to the late Boyd and Mollie (Salyer) Prater. His wife, Sarah E. (Higley) Prater, whom he married Jan. 24, 1958, in Findlay, survives.

Survivors also include: three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Deborah) Launder of Findlay, Mrs. Dennis (Pamela) Long of rural Arlington and Mrs. Richard (Tina) Pellam of Vanlue; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Herbert Prater of Carey, Roy Prater of Vanlue and Tom, Powell and James Prater, all of Findlay; and two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Betty) Clark of Forest and Mrs. Lee (Barbara) Kloeppel of Vanlue.

A machine operator at Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria, Mr. Prater served in the U.S. Army, having been stationed in Japan.

He attended Harvest Jubilee Family Church, Findlay and was a member of UAW Local 336, Fostoria.

Pastor Don Friar will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Wednesday service in the Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home, Carey. Interment will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.

Visitation at the funeral home is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.

Ruth Maxine Pressler
Retired from Florida National Bank of Orlando, Fla.

Funeral services for Ruth Maxine Pressler, 78, of Cape Canaveral, Fla., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Lucinda Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pressler died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 1998 at Cape Canaveral Hospital.

She was born Feb. 22, 1920 in Bowling Green to Thomas and Ruth (Brickle) Swinehart. She married Donald J. Pressler, who survives.

Also surviving are two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jim Swinehart, Fostoria; and Bill Swinehart, Lima.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Alice Motes; and two brothers, George and Thomas Swinehart.

Mrs. Pressler retired from Florida National Bank of Orlando, Fla.

She was a member of OES Chapter 297 of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Rebecca Lodge 12 and Pythian Sisters Lodge 6, both of Orlando.

Retired Ohio Bell Telephone Co. employee

Jean C. Preston, 60, of 506 Clinton St. Findlay, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 2, 1937, in Findlay to Charles Dan and Velma (Oman) Andrus. She married Dan E. Preston on Aug. 28, 1954, and he survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Dennis James and Dale E., both of Findlay; three daughters, Mrs. John (Pamela) Brim, Louisville, Ky., Mrs. Alan (Kristina) Grogg and Sandra Preston, both of Findlay; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Charles "Chuck" Andrus, Findlay.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol D. Benroth.

Mrs. Preston was a retired Ohio Bell Telephone Co. employee, having worked in Findlay and Fostoria for 15 years.

She was a member of Harvest Jubilee Family Church.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, the Rev. Donald Friar officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elmer G. Reinhart
Carpenter and Woodworker

A funeral Mass for Elmer G. Reinhart, 61, of 321 College Ave., Fostoria, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. today at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with a Christian wake service at 8:30 p.m., followed by a Catholic Knights of Ohio memorial service. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Reinhart died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born Dec. 19, 1936 in Alvada to Jerome J. and Albertha M. (Williams) Reinhart.

Surviving is a sister, Joan C. Reinhart, Fostoria.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Bergstedt.

Mr. Reinhart was a self-employed carpenter and woodworker.

He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and the Catholic Knights of Ohio, New Riegel Branch 52.

Retired Fostoria carpenter

James F. Reinhart, 76, of 800 Woodward Ave. Lot 4, Fostoria, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.

He was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Fostoria, to the late Charles A. and Josephine (Hoffbauer) Reinhart. On Feb. 1, 1943, he married Evelyn Shaull at St. Peter Catholic Church, Alvada. She died June 14, 1987.

He is survived by a daughter, Luana Row of Fostoria; two grandchildren, Kelly Row of Hong Kong and Jason Row of Beverly Hills, Calif.; two brothers, Marvin of Fostoria and Ronald of Tiffin; four sisters, Mildred Reid of Savannah, Ga., Genevieve St. Aubin of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Mary Davis of Toledo and Dona Schreiner of Fostoria.

Preceding him in death were three brothers, Leonard, Charles and Richard Marvin Reinhart, and a sister, Joan Rose Reinhart.

Mr. Reinhart was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a retired carpenter.He held memberships in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, American Legion and Knights of Columbus Council 1197, Fostoria.

The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church in Fostoria. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with military graveside services to be conducted by the Fostoria VFW, American Legion and AMVETS.

Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Celestia P. ''Polly'' Reiter, 83, formerly of North TR 165, Tiffin, died at 7:35 a.m. Monday, April 27, 1998, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, where she resided.

She was born in Fostoria, Feb. 15, 1915, to Frederick and Viola P. (Bauman) Martin.

Surviving are a son, Nelson S. Bauman Jr. of Aberdeen, Md.; four daughters, Barbara Kreisher of West Millgrove, Mrs. Charles (Sondra) Raymo and Nancy Roberts, both of Monroe, Mich. and Linda Sipe of Fostoria; two brothers, Donald Martin of Burbank, Calif. and Fred Martin of Port Clinton; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Marilyn) Hill of Bascom; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were a son, Kenneth Bauman; a brother, Robert Martin; a sister, Margaret Hunker; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Reiter had worked as a licensed practical nurse in Monroe for 20 years, prior to moving to the Tiffin area. She then worked at the General Electric in Tiffin for 17 years, retiring in 1977.

Graveside services in Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Mary Slaughterbeck officiating.

Visitation for the family will be private. The Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of arrangements.

Clyde Whirlpool employee

John E. Richard, 64, of W. TR 116, Fostoria, died at 9:32 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 1998, in his home.

He was born March 30, 1934, in Fostoria, to Park A. and Marshalena (Gepler) Richard, who are deceased. He married Phyllis Rader Aug. 31, 1954. She survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Kim) Parsons of Fostoria and Mrs. Greg (Amy) Williams of Findlay; three grandchildren; a step-grandchild; and two brothers, James L. of Centerville and Gene of Wooster.

Mr. Richard was a maintenance supervisor at Whirlpool Corp., Clyde, for six years. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, he belonged to American Legion Post 73, Fostoria Eagles Aerie 430 and Fostoria United Sportsman Club. He was a member of First Christian Church of Christ, Fostoria.

The Rev. Bertie Dell will officiate at the funeral at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, where military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Kenneth C. Ridenour
Plumber/pipefitter

Kenneth C. Ridenour, 73, of 461 W. Lytle St., Lot 139, Fostoria, died in St.Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 1998.

Born July 12, 1924, in Miller City, to Charles and Anna (Ordway) Ridenour, he married Dorothy Stahl, Oct. 5, 1957. She survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are a daughter, Diana Tyson of Palmer, Alaska; a son, Edward Ridenour of Nebraska; and five grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a brother, John Ridenour; and a sister, Erma McDonald.

A World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Ridenour had been employed as a plumber and pipe fitter for Local 50, Toledo.

He was a member of the Girton Church of God and VFW Post 421, Fostoria.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Mr. Ridenour's son, the Rev. Edward Ridenour, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Fostoria American Legion, VFW and AMVETS.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

 

 

Garland A. Risley
Retired from Nickel Plate Railroad

Garland A. Risley, 83, of Fostoria, and formerly of Oakwood, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 1998 at Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born June 8, 1914 in Adamsville, Mich., to Robert and Jessica (Wilson) Risley. He married Imogene P. Hill on Dec. 11, 1937, and she survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are a son, Donald of Van Wert; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Patricia) Zachrich, Mishawaka, Ind.; Mrs. Larry (Jo Anne) Boroff, Spring City, Pa.; a sister, Lola Riffle, Cridersville; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, five brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Risley retired from Nickel Plate Railroad in 1977.

He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Fostoria.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, Oakwood, the Rev. Jeffery Waite officiating. Burial will be in Little Auglaize Cemetery, Melrose.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood, and 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Keith B. Roberts

Keith B. Roberts, 46, of 21st St., Toledo, died at 3:49 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998, at the St. Vincents Medical Center, Toledo. He was born Nov. 24, 1951, in Bellefontaine, Ohio to Compton and Patricia (LyBurtus) Roberts; both are deceased.

Surviving are: his stepfather, Robert L. Jones Sr. of Fostoria; two sons, Keith Roberts Jr. of Spokane, Wa., and Andre Roberts of Perrysburg; a daughter, Tarina Roberts of Fremont; a brother, Robert L. Jones Jr. of Fostoria; two sisters, Mrs. Otis (Robin) Johnson of Bellefontaine, and Mrs. Curtis (Lorraine) Banks of Va.; and a grandchild.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Ricardo and David Roberts.

Mr. Roberts was a member of the New Life Church in Bellefontaine.

The Pastor Robin Ricks will officiate the 2 p.m., Saturday, August 22, 1998, graveside service at Fountain cemetery, Fostoria. There will be no visitation. The Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Lloyd E. Robinson
Retired truck driver

Lloyd E. Robinson, 80, formerly of 1379 W. Woodland Ave., died at 10:33 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, in Fremont Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for eight days. He had resided at Gibsonburg Health Center since May 1997.

He was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Michigan, to Charles H. and Minnie M. (Coolidge) Robinson. His wife of 33 years, Fannie Mae Frost Smith Robinson, whom he married July 20, 1965, in Shalerville, survives.

Other survivors include four sons: Lloyd C., Thomas J., Duane and James A. Robinson of Fostoria, Tiffin, Cromers, and Findlay, respectively; three daughters, Alora Mae Springer of Gladwin, Mich., Christina Bigelow of Saginaw, Mich. and Evelyn Ogden of Beaverton, Mich.; two step-sons and three step-daughters, Jerry Smith of Florence, Ala., James A. Smith of Dublin, Ohio, Connie Jewell and Patricia A. Benavidez, both of Tiffin and Edith England of Waterloo, Ala.; 37 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Robinson of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.

Two sons, William E. and Jerry Lee Robinson; three brothers and three sisters are deceased.

Mr. Robinson, a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II, was employed as a truck driver for 32 years before retiring. He had lived most of his life in Tiffin.

The Rev. Nolan Blakkolb will be the officiate at 11 a.m. Monday graveside service in Little Mexico Cemetery, Mexico, Ohio, where military graveside services also will be conducted.

Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Lawrence Edward Rosendale
Columbia Gas warehouse manager

Lawrence Edward Rosendale, 50, of 13405 Castle Hollow Terrace, Midlothian, Va., died at 10:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, in Midlothian.

He was born Dec. 15, 1947, in Findlay, to Rolla O. and Eleanor L. (Archer) Rosendale. His mother survives in Bloomdale. His wife, Jennifer J. (Jurrus) Rosendale, whom he married June 12, 1971, in Fostoria, survives in Midlothian.

Survivors also include: three sons, Edward J. Rosendale of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mark J. and Andrew J. Rosendale, both of Midlothian; two brothers, Wallace O. Rosendale of Columbus and Ray R. Rosendale of Bloomdale; and a sister, Mrs. Nelson (Mary) Brumbaugh of North Baltimore.

His father is deceased.

Mr. Rosendale, a 1965 graduate of Elmwood High School, was employed as a warehouse manager for Columbia Gas System of Richmond, Va., where he had worked for 29 years.

A U.S. Army veteran, serving 1965-69, he was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Midlothian and served as a troop leader for the Boy Scouts of America.

He had worked in Fostoria in 1970 for 3-4 years then transfered to Findlay as storekeeper until the spring of 1980, then transfered to Columbus, Ohio to Columbia Gas Training Department and in 1992 transfered to Richmond as warehouse manager.

Services in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Dale Smeltzer officiating. Interment will be in Bloom Chapel Cemetery, Bloomdale.

Visitation at the funeral home is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.

 

 

Courtney L. Russell
Stage clerk/1998 Lakota graduate

Courtney L. Russell, 18, of 11051 W. TR 36, Fostoria, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998, on West Tiffin Street in Fostoria.

She was born March 8, 1980, in Findlay, the daughter of Ernie J. and Lynne (Bates) Russell, who survive in Fostoria.

Survivors also include: a brother, David L. Russell, at home; maternal grandparents, Gayle and Mary Bates of Risingsun and paternal grandmother, Marguerite Russell of Winter Haven, Fla.

A 1998 graduate of Lakota High School, where she was active in volleyball, softball and cheerleading, Miss Russell was employed as a clerk at Stage Department Store in Fostoria.

Visitation at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

The Rev. Paul Ruthledge will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday service in the First Church of God, Risingsun. Interment will be in Bradner Cemetery.

M. Joanne Russell
Retired Pharmacy Technician

Funeral services for M. Joanne Russell, 68, of Fostoria, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Branson Hawkes officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Russell died at noon Tuesday, April 7, 1998 at her residence.

She was born July 29, 1929 in Tiffin to Charles and Ethel (Kisabeth) Mutchlar. She married Eugene Russell, who died in May 1995.

Surviving are two sons, Rex E. of Perrysburg; Michael C. of Fostoria; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers.

Mrs. Russell was a retired pharmacy technician for Union Prescription Pharmacy.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Fostoria Elks and the Fostoria Eagles.
