FOSTORIA -- Kay Ellen Echelberry, 69, formerly
of East Crocker Street, Fostoria, died at
6:23 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003, in SunBridge
of West Toledo.
She was born April 28, 1933, in Fostoria,
to the late Harvey Jay and Sarah Ellen (Yontz)
Willison. Her husband, Lynn Elwyn Echelberry,
whom she married May 3, 1952, in the First
Evangelical United Brethren Church, Fostoria,
survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs.
Tom (Lynette) Titus of Waterville; three sons,
Rod (Sue) Echelberry, Brad (Pam) Echelberry
and Jay (Kathy) Echelberry, all of Fostoria;
10 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Rod (Diane)
Baum of Teaneck, N.J.
A grandson, Ryan Titus, also is deceased.
A homemaker and former school librarian with
the Fostoria Community Schools, Mrs. Echelberry
was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria,
where she served on the Chancel Committee
and was a member of the Sewing Circle at the
church. She also was a member of the Fostoria
Emblem Club, where she was past president
and had held many offices.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday,
April 19, in Hope Lutheran Church, with the
Rev. Dr. Larry Knigga officiating. Burial
will be in Knollcrest Gardens, near Arcadia.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, April
18, in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria
and one hour before the service Saturday at
the church.

Herbert Foster, 83, of Lexington, Ky., and
formerly of Fostoria, died
at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at
St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, Ky.
He was born Nov. 15, 1919, in West Millgrove,
to Harry and Iva (Spurgeon) Foster. He married
Glenna Caskie April 10, 1937. She survives
in Lexington.
Other survivors include: a son, Dennis Foster
of Lexington, Ky.; four grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Foster
Snyder of Risingsun.
Mr. Foster was a U.S. Navy veteran of World
War II, where he served on the USS Daly for
four years.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Friday, April 25, at Sandridge Cemetery in
Bascom. Burial will be in Sandridge Cemetery.

Priscilla V. Good, 82, of Washington, Mo.,
died Monday, April 21, 2003, at her home.
She was born Oct. 16, 1920, in Fostoria,
to the late Ernest R. and Celia L. (Flechtner)
Dicken. On Aug. 16, 1942, in Upland, Ind.,
she married Clayton L. Good. He died June
2, 1973.
Surviving are: a son, Roger D. Good, of
Somers, Mont.; a daughter, Phyllis Sullentrup,
of Washington, Mo.; a brother, Ernest "Buddy"
Dicken Jr., of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two
sisters, Nellie Bowman and Betty Harrison,
both of Fostoria.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the
Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria.
Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday and
one hour prior to the service on Friday

Gregory, Dorothy A.
Dorothy A. Gregory, 82, of E. SR 18, Tiffin,
died Friday, April 25, 2003, at Autumnwood
Care Center.
She was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Republic,
to the late Roy and Edna (Miller) Echelberry.
She married Richard Adams in Fostoria.
He died in 1972. She later married Lajoie
Gregory in Florida. He died in 1990.
Surviving are: two brothers, Leonard Echelberry
of Tiffin and D. Ray (Norma) Echelberry
of Bellevue; a sister, Mrs. Gordon (Kathryn)
Heckerd of Republic; a stepson, John (Ann)
Gregory of Tiffin; a stepdaughter, Janet
(Herbert) Wyandt of Waterville; several
nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Daryl
Echelberry.
Mrs. Gregory graduated from Scipio Republic
High School in 1938 and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Moose Auxiliary
1001 in Tiffin, American Legion Women's
Auxiliary in Republic, Police and Fireman's
Retirees and Allen Eiry Senior Citizens.
She was also a member of Ebenezer United
Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday,
April 28, 2003, in Arcadia Memory Gardens
with the Rev. John M. Halstead officiating.

Wilma Juanita (Brookover) Geiger, 88, Lost

4, 2003 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born October 21, 1914 to Charles
Henry Brookover and Amy (Van Dyne) Brookover
in Williamstown, Wood County, West Virginia.
She married Robert Paul Geiger, a Ford Motor
Company Retiree, in Fostoria, Ohio October
21, 1935. Together they operated a restaurant
in Ada for many years. He preceded her in
death in February, 1978.
She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Kissling,
Fostoria; a son, Ronald Eugene Geiger, Lima;
a daughter, Barbara Jeannine (Bobbie Jean)
Geiger-Bowers, Waverly, Ohio; ten grandchildren,
Nadine (Geiger) Collier, North Muskegon,
Mich.; Teresa (Geiger) Burk, Huber Heights,

Finsel, Jane H. 'Jean'
FOSTORIA -- Jane H. "Jean" Finsel,
69, of 214 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, died
suddenly Monday evening in Fostoria Community
Hospital, June 2, 2003.
She was born Sept. 23, 1933, in Greenock,
Scotland. On March 2, 1957, at St. Wendelin
Catholic Church. she married Duane J. Finsel.
He survives.
Also surviving are: four sons, Stephen
J. (Deb) Finsel of West Millgrove, Scott
A. (Shari) Finsel of Columbus, Stuart A.
(Amy) O'Brien of Chicago, Ill., and Sean
M. (Keena) Finsel of Raleigh, N.C.; six
grandchildren, Roxanne, Grace, Adam, Anna,
Elaine, and Ethan Finsel, that she loved
dearly; a brother, Fred Clarke; a sister,
Jackie Clarke, both of England; and an aunt,
Marion O'Brien, of Greenock, Scotland, who
helped raise Jean.
She was preceded in death by her mother,
Jean Crawford and a daughter, Sheena Finsel.
Jean was a part-time waitress, and homemaker.
She also had worked at Quality Farm and
Fleet in Findlay and Fostoria for 9 years.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic
Church, Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 430, Women
of the Moose Chapter 154. Jean was an avid
reader. She also enjoyed playing card and
gambling.

a.m. Friday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church
in Fostoria, where a Rosary will be prayed
at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Wendelin
Catholic Cemetery in Fostoria.

Lloyd E. Fisher, 83, of Findlay, died 8:51
p.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 at Blanchard Valley
Regional Health Center, Findlay.
He was a 1937 graduate of Arcadia High School
and a member of First United Brethren Church.
He retired in 1984 as a foreman from Staley's,
formerly Swift and Co. During retirement
he worked as a Fleet Coordinator and Driver
for Findlay Ford. He was a World War II,
9th Division, U.S. Army Veteran where he
was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal,
American Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct
Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service
Medal, with 8 Bronze Stars and 1 Bronze
Arrowhead.
He married Wanda J. (Kunkelman) on November
7, 1941 in Fostoria, and she preceded him
in death on February 4, 1998. Also preceding
him in death were sons Jack and Allen Fisher;
daughter Connie Sauder; brother Paul R.
Fisher. He is survived by daughters Mrs.
Steven H. (Sandra J.) Schoonover of Findlay,
Mrs. James (Bonnie) Creager of Hamler, and
Mrs. Christopher (Kay) Mathias of Bloomdale;
sisters Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Mosher of
Fostoria and Doris Wilcox of Mt. Morris,
NY; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are four brothers,
Fred, John and Floyd Buess, and Roy Burnett;

she was a retired librarian employed at
Jackson Library, Forest, she was a former

He was born April 20, 1934, in Spartanburg,
S.C., to Mills French and Irene Ferguson.
He married Jimmie Jeter (now Jimmie Hunter)
on July 15, 1958, and they were divorced.
Mrs. Hunter survives in Fostoria. Also surviving
are: eight sons, Billie Jr., Brian K. and
Brad Ferguson, all of Fostoria, David Bernal
of Toledo, Michael Patterson of Columbus,
Brent Lentz and Brice Fuller, both of Fostoria;

Gracemarie Gase, 86, passed away on August
7, 2003 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health
Center, Findlay.
Born Sept. 5, 1916 in Putnam County to
Perry L. and Ina G. (Higley) Parker, she
married Orville R. Vermillion in 1933, and
he died in 1959. She then married Virgil
M. Gase in 1964 and he died May 24, 1990.
Surviving are two sons, Neil Vermillion
of rural Findlay; Dan Vermillion of Findlay;
a daughter, Rose Wickert, Tucson, Ariz.;
and a sister, Doris Oman, Dublin. Gracemarie
is also survived by two step-sons, George
Gase, Alcujune, Calif.; Robert Gase, Fostoria;
and three step-daughters, Kathy Miller and
Betty Lou Brink, both of Findlay; and Virginia
Gase, Tiffin. She was the proud grandmother
of numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren
and great, great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are a brother, Marion
Parker; a great-granddaughter; a step-son,
William Gase; and a step-daughter, Mary
Bame.
She was retired from the former R.C.A.
of Findlay and the F. C. Russell Company
of Pandora. She was a lifetime member of
the Eagles of Fostoria.

D. Flagg on Oct. 25, 1953 in Kansas, Ohio,

Berniece (Radcliff) (Rinebold) Farris passed
away on October 4, 2003 at Kingston of Perrysburg.
She was born February 10, 1909 in Kansas,
Ohio to Albert and Mary Radcliff. She graduated
in 1927 from Jackson High School in Kansas,
Ohio. In 1929 she married Willard Rinebold,
who preceded her in death in 1970. In 1976
she married James Farris, who passed away
in 1997.
Berniece was also preceded in death by
her brothers Willard (Bill) Donald and Max;
sisters, Wilda Radcliff and Marqurite Miller'
and son-in-law Robert Sears.
She is survived by here sister Elsie Strausbaugh
of Tiffin, and brother Dale Radcliff of
Fostora. She is also survived by her daughter,m
Mary Jo Sears of Bowling Green, her two
granddaughters Diane (Dale) Gibson of Maumee
and Ami (Greg) Noble of Bowling Green, and
a great-grandchildren Lindsay and Erin Gibson
and Andrew and Erica Noble.
Private graveside services will be held
at Oak Grove Cemetery on Friday, October
10.

Avenue, Fostoria, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday,
Oct. 9, 2003 at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation,

Surviving are his mother, Rosella Ferguson,
Fostoria; his wife, Nancy Ferguson, Fostoria;
a son, Michael of Fostoria; a daughter,

Greer, Nevada
Nevada Greer, age 77, a resident of the
Judson Palmer Home died at 3:41 a.m. Wednesday,
October 15, 2003.
She was born on Dec. 22, 1925 to McCoy
and Alice (Robbins) Thompson in Pineville,
KY. She married Jack L. Greer on Feb. 3,
1946 and he passed in 1969.
Surviving are six children; Gary (Betty)
Greer of Findlay, Nina K. (Lauren) VanScoit
of Perrysburg, Michael L. (Laura K.) Greer
of Findlay, Debbie (James) Eisentrager of
Findlay, Alice M. (Allan) Young of Lakeview
and Kimerly D. (Travas) Higgins also of
Findlay, twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren,
one brother, Almon Thompson of Dayton, and
four sisters, Zella Yoakam of North Baltimore,
Alice Christopher of Findlay, Lorene Pratt
of Fostoria and Freda of KY.
She was preceded in death by two sisters,
Opal and Norma Jean.
Mrs. Greer was a homemaker and had attended
First Assembly of God Church. Funeral services

UPPER SANDUSKY -- Charlotte A. "Oma"
Graw, 92, formerly of Fostoria, died at
5:20 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003 at Fairhaven
Community, Upper Sandusky.
Funeral services will be in private.
She was born Dec. 11, 1910 in Hermadorf,
Germany, to Oscar and Emma Lindner. She
married Erich Graw on March 11, 1933 in
West Berlin, Germany, and he died March
26, 1974.
Surviving are two daughters, Gisela Hunt,
Upper Sandusky; and Hildegard (Josef) Cramer,
Fostoria; a son, Manfred (Barb) of Fostoria;
two sisters living in Germany, six grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are two brothers;
and a son-in-law, Terry Hunt.
Mrs. Graw was a homemaker and did housekeeping
in Fostoria, where she lived since 1955.

D. "Marvy"
Marvalene "Marvy" D. Fittro, 67,
Frederick, Md. and formerly of 416 Ash Street,
died Saturday Oct. 18, 2003 at Frederick
Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md., due to
complications of diabetes and heard disease.
She was born Sept. 23, 1936 in Fostoria,
where she lived until 2002, to warren E.
and hazel (Flugga) Reynolds. She married
William R. Fittro on Aug. 11, 1955 and they
divorced in 1975. He died in 1991.
Surviving are a daughter, Holly Ann Bellows,
Frederick, Md., and a brother, Duane E.
(Eileen) Reynolds, New Riegel.
She was preceded in death by her parents
and a infant half-brother, Paul.
A 1954 graduate of Fostoria High School,
Marvy worked for John B. Rogers Producing
company, a theatrical production company
based in Fostoria. She worked there as a
stenographer until 1962 and for a brief
time later in 1969. In 1975 she was employed
as an accounting clerk at The Gray Printing
Company in Fostoria until her retirement
in 1995.
Since the mid-1960's, she practiced organic
gardening, loved dogs, was an avid reader
of historical fiction and mysteries, and
adept at discussing politics and current
events.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003 at St. James Episcopal
Church, Mount, Airy, Md. The officiant will
be Rev. Portia Hirschman, Rector.
There will be no visitation.

Clarence E. Gray, 77, formerly of Stinchcomb
Drive of Fostoria, died at 3:15 p.m. Friday,
Oct. 31, 2003, in St. Catherine's Care Center.
He was born May 23, 1926, in Briceton to
Sharon and Nora (Lehman) Gray. He married
Kathryn J. Weber May 23, 1975, in Paulding.
Survivors include: his wife of Fostoria;
two sons, Edwin Gray of New Haven, Ind.,
and Daniel Gray of Parker, S.D.; two stepsons,
Blayne and Scott Kreais both of Fostoria;
three stepdaughters, Joslynn Roush of Fostoria,
Sonya Ruiz of Van Buren and Barbara Jones
of Liberty Center; three grandchildren;
10 step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
a step-grandchild; a brother, Raymond Gary
of Paulding; and a sister, Caroline Goodwin
of Hilliard.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in
the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria,
with burial in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Mrs. Guillen died at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday,
Nov. 4, 2003, at her residence.
She was born on June 2, 1935 in Orrville,
Ohio to the late Leonard Frias, Sr. and
Kathryn "Chiania" (Catrone) Frias.
She married Sam A. Guillen on September
1, 1956 in St. Wendelin Catholic Church,
Fostoria.
Survivors include her husband, Sam of Fostoria;
two sons, Sam and Douglas, both of Fostoria;
a daughter, Karen S. Guillen, Fostoria;
two brothers, Joseph A. Frias and Leonard
Frias Jr., both of Fostoria; and three sisters,
Mrs. Valdemar (Virginia) Davila, Mrs. Gerald
(Leona) Reinhart and Victoria M. Frias,
all of Fostoria.
One sister Patricia Cupp preceded her in
death
Mrs. Guillen was an office manager at the
National Electric Carbon Credit Union, Fostoria,
for the past 18 years. She also worked in
the office at the former Chrysler Foundry
in Fostoria for 21 years retiring in 1980.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic
Church and was a 1953 graduate of St. Wendelin
High School.
Mrs. Guillen enjoyed traveling and camping
and was an avid fan of both the Cleveland
Browns and Indians. She lived for her family
and loved dearly her husband, children grandchildren
brothers, and sisters.

Grove, Paul E.
Paul E. Grove, 90, of Fostoria, died Friday
morning, Nov. 7, 2003, at his residence.
He was born July 12, 1913, in Norwalk to
John W. and Laura L. (Joseph) Grove. He
married Rachel Mae Young June 24, 1945,
in Fostoria and she died June 21, 2003.
Survivors include: a daughter, Paulette
Sue Thorp of Fostoria, and three grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War
II where he served in the Pacific Theater.
He attained the rank of sergeant, his duty
lasting from March 1941-June 1945. He was
stationed at Schofield Barracks in Pearl
Harbor when the Japanese attacked.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in
the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Military
rites by the United Veterans of Fostoria
will precede the services at the funeral
home. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens,
Arcadia.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at
the funeral home.
Gorrill, Judith 'Judy'
Judith "Judy" Gorrill, 64, of
Angela Drive, Fostoria, died at 10:35 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, in her home.
She was born Sept. 1, 1939, in Fostoria
to Manford and Matilda (Solomon) Woodland
and they are deceased. She married James
D. Gorrill Jan. 18, 1959, in First Baptist
Church, Fostoria; and he survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son, James Gorrill
of Southfield, Mich.; a daughter, Janel
Behm of Tiffin; three grandchildren; two
brothers, Jack B. Woodland of Fostoria,
and Jerry Woodland of Findlay; and a sister
Jo Ann Shoemaker of Bucyrus.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the
Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria,
with burial in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

FOSTORIA -- Frank W. Eddington, 71, formerly
of East Jones Street, Fostoria, died at
7:25 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003 at Independence
House, Fostoria.
He was born June 8, 1932 in Findlay to
William and Adelene (Filliater) Eddington.
He married Barbara Bentz and they were divorced.
He then married Sandra Pritt Aug. 8, 1988
in Fostoria and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Frank and
Tod, both of Carey; and John of Fostoria;
four daughters, Carolyn Faith, New Riegel;
Georgia Heffelfinger and Tonia Roark, both
of Carey; and Amy Eddington, Mansfield;
a stepson, William Pritt, Fostoria; a stepdaughter,
Roxann Haney, Valley Head, W.Va.; five brothers,
Richard of New Riegel; David, Donald and
Kenneth, all of Findlay; and Robert of Arlington;
four sisters, Ethel Decker, Norma Riker
and Kay Stover, all of Findlay; and Salley
Pugh, Dunkirk; and 21 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents
and two brothers, Keith and Roger.
Mr. Eddington retired from Seneca Wire
in 1994 after 31 years of service. He attended
Trinity United Brethren Church, Fostoria.

BLOOMDALE -- Josiah William "Bill"
Faylor, 86, formerly of Bloomdale, died
at 10:17 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003 at
Independence House, Fostoria, where he was
a resident.
Born Aug. 17, 1917 in Fostoria to the late
Charles A. and Alcie (Stearns) Faylor, he
married Eva Jeanette Topping on April 29,
1939 in Rudolph and she died May 26, 1993.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John
(Janet) Dunn, Fostoria; and Mrs. Donald
(Jean) Luman, Lewiston, N.Y.; seven grandchildren,
Chip Luman, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Amber Molloy,
Lansdale, Pa.; Laurel Perini, Cordova, Tenn.;
Robyn Brenner, Susan Dunn and Mark Dunn,
all of Fostoria; and Greg Dunn, Sandusky;
and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Faylor retired in 1982 from the quality
control department at Atlas, Fostoria, after
30 years of employment. He was a graduate
of Bloomdale High School and attended The
Ohio State University. Mr. Faylor was a
member of Trinity United Methodist Church,
Bloomdale. Farming was Bill's pride and
joy, as he was a longtime Wood County farmer.
He was a member of the Farm Bureau and was
a 4-H advisor. He also enjoyed gardening,
woodworking, attending auctions and collecting
antiques following his retirement.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria,
the Rev. David Miller officiating. Burial
will be in Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove.

Lane, Carey, and formerly of rural McCutchenville,
