Brough, Edna L.

Edna L. Brough, 79, of Oak Harbor, OH died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005 at her residence. She was born Sept. 5, 1925 in Ashland, Ky., the daughter of the late William and Edna E. (Finley) Ramey. She married Clyde K. Williams on Oct. 15, 1941. She later married Melvin Brough on Sept. 5, 1964 and he survived.

Surviving were her husband; sons: Clyde W. Williams of Genoa; Chad W. Brough of Oak Harbor; daughters: Thelma L. Applegate of St Cloud, Fla.; Janice E. Moore of Port Clinton; Beverly K McCullough of Bascom; Brenda Lea Swinehart, Risingsun; Lori L. Johnson of Fremont; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren: Raymond E. Martin, Steven A. Schultz; brother: Robert Ramey; and sister: Billie Ramey.

Mrs. Brough retired from Brush Wellman in 1989 where she worked for 23 years. After retirement she was a clerk for Chad W. Brough Auctioneering.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor with Pastor Randy Carpenter officiating. Visitation was held Wednesday from 9 a.m.to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH.


Anderson, Alan A.

Alan A. Anderson, 92, Fostoria and Toledo, died on Thursday, Mar. 3, 2005 at Birchhaven Retirement Village, Findlay, where he was a resident. He was born on Apr. 19, 1912 in Fostoria to the late Raymond H. and Cora (Johnson) Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was an assembler at the former Fostoria Press Steel for 10 years. He then operated Alan's Barber Shop on Sandusky Street in Fostoria from 1951 to 1968, and later worked as a barber in Toledo. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II serving from Aug. 1942 to Feb. 1946 in the South Pacific and Philippines. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Fostoria, and American Legion Post 0053, Toledo, and was a former member of American Legion Post 73, Fostoria.

He was survived by sisters, Rosen M. Dalton and Evelyn E. Weiker, both of Findlay, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Roger C. and Raymond H. Anderson, Jr., and sisters, Bessie Mae Dercotte, Mabel Washington, Carrie Roberts, Hattie Anderson, and Martha Robinson.

Home going services were held Monday, March 7, 2005 at Bethel Baptist Church, Fostoria, Rev. Marvin Houston officiated. Burial was in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, where the United Veterans of Fostoria conducted military graveside rites. Friends were received on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, and on Monday for one hour prior to the services in the church.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.


Blosser, Blaine D.

Blaine D. Blosser, 81, Risingsun passed away Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born Feb 23, 1924 in Kansas to the late Marion and Ella (Nycum) Blosser. He married Thelma Pickett on Jan. 23, 1949 in Greenup, KY.

He was survived by his wife; a brother-in-law, Wayne (Mary Jane) Pickett, Stow; a sister-in-law, Anita Pickett, Fostoria and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Esmer, and a sister, Esta Sterns, preceded him in death.

He was a 1942 graduate of Risingsun High School. Blaine retired in 1986 from Peerless Construction, Fremont, for more than 40 years. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II serving from Feb. 1943 to 1946.

He was a member of First Christian Church and Loyal Order of the Moose #1567 and a life member of American Legion Post 73, VFW Post 421, AMVETS Post 69, Eagles Club and United Sportsmen Club, all of Fostoria.

Visitation was held Mon., March 7, 2005 from 4-8 p.m. in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria where funeral services were held Tues. March 8, 2005 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Alonzo Wise officiating. Military graveside rites were led by the United Veterans of Fostoria and committal services were held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at Scott Trinity Cemetery near Risingsun.

Memorials were suggested to the church or Bradner Fire and Rescue.


Bickelhaupt, Mary Alice

Mary Alice Bickelhaupt, 79, Fostoria, passed away on Saturday, Mar. 5, 2005 in Tiffin Mercy Hospital. She was born on June 6, 1925 in Paulding County to Howard and Nina (Howe) Rouch. She married Arthur A. Bickelhaupt on Oct. 12, 1941 in Toledo.

She was survived by her husband, Howard; sons, Charles (Diane), Fremont; David (Cindie), Van Buren; Rev. Richard (Gail), Oak Harbor; daughters, Martha (Bud) Merkle, Kansas; Ann (Eduard) Zilbertkant, Fairbanks, Alaska; sister, Martha Carter, Tiffin; half-brother, John Roush, Pine Island, FL; 29 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Arthur, Larry and Stephen; brothers, Rev. Eugene Roush; Rev. Joseph Roush and Lester Roush; sister, Carol Tate; and step-sister Betty Keckler.

Dawn was a homemaker and a member of Dillon Road Baptist Church in Fostoria.

Visitation was on Tuesday, Mar. 8, 2005 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Mar. 9, 2005 at Dillon Road Baptist Church in Fostoria with Rev. Allen Minton officiation. Burial was held in Kansas Cemetery, Kansas.

Memorials were suggested to the Dillon Road Baptist Church.


Bockbrader, Mary E.

Mary E. Bockbrader, 94, Fostoria, passed away Sunday, Mar. 6, 2005, at Independence House, Fostoria. She was born June 26, 1910 in Findlay, to the late John and Nellie (Johnson) O'Connor. She married Earlis B. Copley on Nov. 27, 1938, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1971. She then married Milton Bockbrader on Feb. 14, 1979.

She was survived by her husband, Milton; a son, Thomas Robert Copley, St. Petersburg, FL; a step-son, Leroy (Elaine) Bockbrader, Fostoria; two step-daughters, Loretta (Tom) Thornton, Medina and Lorene Raney, McComb; five step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Irene Kurtz, Fostoria. A son, Theodore Richard Copley; a brother, Donald O'Connor; and two sisters, Helen Shafer and Kathryn Munger, also preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Findlay High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Hope Lutheran Church and its Hope 60 Club, and volunteered with the American Red Cross and the Bureau of Concern, all of Fostoria.

Visitation was be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Veterans Memorial Chapel of Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, with burial in the Emma Pillars Garden of Memory.

Memorials were suggested to Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria.


Bryan, Helen L.

Helen L. Bryan, age 79, Lima, died 8:40 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2005 at her son's residence. She was born Sept. 23, 1925 in Fostoria, to Guy and Catherine (Massey) Johnson, both preceded her in death. On Aug. 10, 1945, she married Allan Richard "Bud" Bryan. He died Nov. 18, 1981.

Helen retired after 37 years as an inspector for Ex-Cell-O. She aided the war effort during WWII by working at the Lima Army Tank Plant. She was a member of the Fostoria Church of the Nazarene.

She was survived by her son: Allan J. (Lisa), Lima; nephew, Jim (Kris) Bryan, Lima, who she raised as a son; grandchildren, Luke (Ashley) Schimpf, Michael Glazier, Emily, Megan, Rachel, and Melissa Bryan; great-granddaughter, Alexis Schimpf; and sister, Doris Clark of Fostoria. She was preceded in death by siblings: Ruth Carter, Bessie Wilcox, Walter, Herbert, Herschel, and Glenn Johnson.

Friends called Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hogenkamp-Weber Funeral Home, Lima. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the funeral home, Rev. William Hogan officiated. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice, Lima.


Blachuta, Vivian Pearl “Tootie”

Vivian Pearl "Tootie" Blachuta, 77, Bloomdale and formerly of Wayne, died Monday, March 14, 2005 at her residence. She was born Sept. 2, 1927 in Wayne to Clyde B. and Cora M. (Rogers) Hoiles. She married Charles Leroy Traut on July 15, 1944 and he died Sept. 6, 1959. She then married Edward Louis Blachuta Sr. on March 18, 1961 and he died March 15, 1999.

She was survived by sons, Dan C. (Rosalie) Traut, Bradner; Jay S. Traut, Wayne; Mark W. Traut, Van Buren; Curtice E. (Shelly) Blachuta, Bloomdale; Stanley B. Blachuta, Mascot, Tenn.; Jon J. (Pam) Blachuta, Bloomdale; Edward L. (Patty) Blachuta Jr., Wayne; daughter, Sandra (Barry) Gries, Gibsonburg; brothers, Don Hoiles, Wayne; J.C. Hoiles, Bowling Green; sister, Alyce Alexander, Pemberville; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, brother, Roger, and sisters, Leota Pointer and Martha Ingmire.

Mrs. Blachuta was owner/operator of the former Clip & Curl Beauty Shop, Wayne, for 32 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Bradner and Albert Bowe American Legion Post #338 Auxiliary, Bradner. She graduated from Whitney Macomber High School, Toledo, in 1945.

Visitation was 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, Wayne, Rev. Lee Hiney officiated. Burial was in Graham Cemetery, Wayne.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Auxiliary or to Elmwood Athletic Boosters.


Boyd, Doris Marie

Doris Marie Boyd, 90, formerly of Fostoria, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 in Reno, Nev.

She was born Jan. 23, 1915 in Sycamore, Ohio, to Lewis D. and Eva Mae (Swerline) Mann.

She married Robert K. Boyd on Feb. 1, 1936.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brothers, Frank, Tiffin; Clarence (Ted), Sycamore; sisters, Mary Mann, Sycamore; Evelyn (Mann) Rudy Lewis Brooks, Fostoria; Ada Mae (Mann) Bridinger, Tiffin. She was survived by her daughter, Patricia K. (Boyd) Saldausky, Reno, Nev.; grandchildren, Angela K. (Saldausky) Peterman, Findlay; Roberta (Bobbi) Saldausky, Reno, Nev.; and great-grandchildren, David Lee Mundorff and Shaylinn Marie Mundorff.

Doris worked at the Domestic Laundry, Tiffin; the Fostoria Screw Co., Fostoria; Autolite Spark Plug Factory, Fostoria; and the R.C.A. Plant in Findlay.

The family asked that Doris be remembered with a donation in her name to a local hospice organization.

Arrangements were handled by Walton Funeral Home, Reno, Nev.

Flo Ella Anfinson, 94, died at 12:20 a.m., Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, where she was a resident.

Beckley, Burniece “Burny” Leafie

Burniece "Burny" Leafie Beckley, 89, a homemaker formerly of Herbster Street, Fremont, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. She was born March 5, 1916 in Fostoria to the late George and Bertha (Hartley) Graber. She married Howard Raymond "Ray" Beckley on Sept. 3, 1939 in Auburn, Ind. He died Feb. 22, 1996.

Surviving were her daughter, Reta Rae (Al) Errett; grandsons, David (Lisa) Szakovits and Tom (Valerie) Szakovits; sister, Jessie (Gene) Burris, Bowling Green; brother, Wilbur (Jean) Graber, Bowling Green. She was preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Vernon, Max, Clifford "Tip", Donald and Dale Graber; sister, Phyllis Durdel; and son-in-law, David L. Szakovits. She was a member of Grace Brethren Church, Fremont.

Visitation was 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, Fremont.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the funeral home, Rev. Duane Smith officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.

Bugner, Martin J. “Marty”

Martin J. "Marty" Bugner, 72, rural Fostoria, died peacefully at 7:50 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2005, at his home from complications of cancer. He was born June 2, 1932 in Alvada to the late Joseph N. and Agnes M. (Lafontaine) Bugner. He married Lois A. (Spitler) Kelly on Dec. 9, 1978 in Maysville, Ky. and she survived.

He was also survived by children; Linda (Bobby) Crace, Findlay; and Debbie (Ken) Brooks, Wayne; Joe (Aida), Fostoria; Jeff (Cathy), Rawson; Tina Adams, Coweta, OK; Ron (Elizabeth), Millersville, PA; Gina Wolf, Findlay; Tonya Bugner, Findlay; Colleen Kelly, Pebbles, Ohio; Laurie (Jeff) Wright, Wayne; Karen (Arnold) Scherger, Findlay; 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Franklin (Marilyn), Tiffin; William (Marilyn), Fostoria; Lowell, Fostoria; Steven (Rose), Fostoria; sisters, Jane (Herm) Vande Kerkhoff, Fostoria; Mary Jo (Michael) Dudgeon, SC; and former wives, Gail Baker and Charlene Abell. He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Cydney Batterson.

Mr. Bugner was an entrepreneur in many businesses. He was a U. S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean era on the U.S.S. Forestal, where he was a welder. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1567 and the Knights of Columbus. He attended St. Wendelin Catholic Schools.

Visitation was 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoening Funeral Home where a Christian wake service took place in the afternoon. Mass of Christian Burial was 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church where a Rosary was prayed at 12:30 p.m. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, McComb where military honors took place.

Below, Curtis P.

Curtis P. Below, 28, 6286 E. TR 8, Republic, died at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005 due to a motorcycle accident on TR 8, Tiffin. He was born Sept. 1, 1976 in Findlay to Patrick E. and Janis S. (Margraf) Below, and they survive in Sycamore.

He was also survived by fiancée, Pamella Weller, Republic; maternal grandparents, George and Mary Margraf, Sycamore; paternal grandmother, Mary K. Below, Findlay; and aunts, uncles and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John E. Below who died in 2002.

Mr. Below was a plant maintenance technician for Time Warner for 10 years. He graduated from Mohawk High School in 1995. Donald was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #250, Sycamore, Attica Eagles #4412, American Motorcycle Association and member of the Honda Riders Club.

Visitation was 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, the Revs. Ed Shelly and Diane Thomas officiated. Burial was at a later date.

Bryant, Michael “T”

Michael "T" Bryant, 18, Ohio 587, died at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at Toledo Hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1987 in Tucson, Ariz. to Danny and Susan (Holm) Bryant.

He was survived by his parents, Danny Bryant and Susan Holm-Bryant, Fostoria; brothers, Donald "Rich" Davis, Lima; Matthew Bryant, Fostoria; sister, Melissa Bryant, Fostoria; paternal grandparents, Donnie and Margie Bryant, Garrett, Ind.; uncles, Mikel and Thomas Bryant, both of Garrett, Ind.; William Holm, Arizona; and aunts, Lisa (Rick) Swartz, Garrett, Ind.; and Jeanie Holm and Patty Holm-Ferrentino, both of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.

Michael was a senior at Hopewell-Loudon High School and was attending Sentinel Vocational Center in the electrical trades center.

Visitation was 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Michaels officiating. Burial was in Fountain Cemetery.

Blackburn, Rev. Ulmont U.

Rev. Ulmont U. Blackburn, 87, North Main Street, died at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at Good Shepherd Home. He was born Dec. 1, 1917 in Baltimore, Md. to Ulmont and Florence (Wesley) Blackburn. He married Helen L. Mattes on Nov. 21, 1936 in Baltimore, Md. and she died July 14, 1996.

He was survived by son, George (Barbara), Sand Springs, OK; daughters, June (Russell) Weindel, Mechanicsburg; Virginia (Robert) Shultz, Fostoria; Ann (Jerry) Lindsey, Cincinnati; brothers, Thomas and John, both of Baltimore, MD; sister, Lydia Pearce, Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren, Sandra, Virginia, Ann, Katherine, Jerry, Michael, Richard and Christopher; and nine great-grandchildren, David, Jonathan, Riley, Delanie, Lillia, Garrett, Seth, Dalton and Hailey. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Francis, Garfield and Earl Blackburn; sister, Roselyn Leckert; and daughter-in-law, Joann (Robertson) Blackburn.

Rev. Blackburn retired in 1979 as a minister of The Church of God, Vale, N.C., and Clermont County, Ohio. He was also past president and firefighter at Keystone Fire & Rescue, Tulsa County, Okla. In recent years, Rev. Blackburn was active visiting, singing and ministering at Winebrenner Village in Findlay and Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria. He also attended the Trinity United Brethren Church in Fostoria.

Funeral services were noon Saturday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Rev. Samuel Suman officiated. Burial was in Fountain Cemetery. Visitation was two hours prior to the services on Saturday.

Browning, Jewell W.

Jewell W. Browning, 92, passed away on Wednesday morning, April 20, 2005 at the Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria. Born Aug. 7, 1912 in Falmouth, Ky. to the late James F. and Cora Lee (Wyatt) Wright, she married Everett T. Browning on March 8, 1936 in Falmouth. He preceded her in death in 1959.

Those who survived her include: a daughter, Berneda "Bea" Hiatt, Fostoria; son, Rickey Allen, Luther Home of Mercy, Williston, OH; three grandchildren, Anette (Jim) Blake, Fostoria; Tony (Nancy) Hiatt, Van Buren; and Tom (Dayna) Hiatt, Pittsburgh, PA; eight great-grandchildren, Jessica and Joey Blake, Tyler, Collin, Mackenzie, Tess, Emma, and Wade Hiatt; and numerous loving friends. A brother, Ernest Wright, sister, Ethel Hamilton, great-granddaughter, Danielle Hiatt, and son-in-law, Darrell Hiatt, also preceded her in death.

A graduate of Falmouth (Ky.) High School, Jewell was a homemaker. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Richmond, Ind., where she lived for many years.

Visitation was Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, concluding with a service to celebrate Jewell's life at 7 p.m. Chaplain Jim Sampson presided. Graveside services and interment were at 2 p.m. Friday at Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth, Ky.

Memorials were suggested to the Luther Home of Mercy, Williston, Ohio or to the Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.


Brown, Larry

Larry Brown, 48, West Axline Street, died at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Toledo Hospital. He was born May 1, 1956 in Peoria, Ill., to Harry "Buck" and Gladys (Fox) Brown.

He was survived by his mother, Fostoria; sons, Jeremy and Jessie Greek-Brown, both of Wichita Falls, TX; daughters, Christina (Chris) Fosnaugh, Fostoria; Amber Greek-Brown, Wichita Falls, TX; brother, Loren (Leroy), Marblehead; sisters, Laura (Jim) Carter and Donna (Perry) Mason, both of Fostoria; Deb Brown, Perrysburg; and six grandchildren, Shana, Brandon, Isaac, Madison, Ariel and Alexis. He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Brown was a self-employed roofer. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

There were be no funeral services. Friends called 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home.

Bumann, Bertha E.

Bertha E. Bumann, 89, Findlay, died at 3:40 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Sunrise Assisted Living, Findlay. She was born to John and Margaret (Guenthner) Heid.

She was survived by daughter, Mary B. Miller, Findlay.

Memorial service was 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, Findlay, Revs. John Wurster and Donna Giver-Johnson officiated. Burial was in Peace Cemetery, New Salem. S.D.

Erma Jewell Beigh, 66, North Fort Myers died May 6, 2005.

She was survived by her husband, Gerry L.; children, Debra C. Miller, Michael G. Beigh, Ricky D. Beigh, Karen K. Windship, Mark A. Beigh and Sandria L. Field; and brothers and sisters, Ima Craft, Isma Sizemore, Elbert Mullins, Ellen Russell, Earl Mullins and Elmer Mullins.

Boes, Gerald G.

Gerald G. Boes, 79, Alvada, died peacefully at 1:26 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005, at his home. He was born Feb. 15, 1926 in Alvada to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Welter) Boes. He married Irene Brickner on June 25, 1949 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Bascom, and she survived in Alvada.

He was survived by his wife, Alvada; sons, Kenneth (Shirley), Fostoria; Ronald (Shirley), New Riegel; daughters, Charlene Wickham, Carey; Carol (Aidan) Jenot, Alvada; Cheryl Boes, Alvada; Diane (Christopher) Allison, Alvada; Linda (John) Baker, Alvada; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Miller, Fostoria; and brothers, Vincent, Fostoria; and Eugene, Alvada. He was preceded in death by son, Thomas; brothers, Phillip and Richard; and sisters, Marie Karcher and infant sister, Margarite Boes.

Mr. Boes retired from Atlas Crankshaft (Cummins Engine) in 1985. He was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Alvada; Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree council #1197 and 4th degree Assembly #845, Fostoria. He was a member of the New Riegel Moose, the Fostoria American Legion, AMVETS, Upper Sandusky and Fostoria United Sportsman Club. He served as a New Riegel school board member for 20 years.

Visitation was 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005 at the Hoening Funeral Home where a Rosary was prayed at 3:30 p.m. and a 4th degree K of C honor guard took place from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial was 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Alvada. Entombment was in Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin.

Brandeberry, Charles K.

Charles K. Brandeberry, 78, East Fremont Street, died at 1:29 p.m. Thursday at Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky. He was born Dec. 2, 1926 in Wood County to Ira and Elizabeth (Knavel) Brandeberry. He married Thomasine R. Stevens on Oct. 16, 1950 in Fostoria.

He was survived by his wife, Fostoria; sons, Chuck (Mardi), David (Linda), Ronald and John (Michelle), all of Fostoria; daughters, Kathleen (Karl) Walters and Kristine Stennett-Brandeberry, both of Fostoria; brother, James, Fostoria; sister, Irene Stickroth, Toledo; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold and Ira; and sisters, Sylvia Greene, Ruth Cobb and Opal Shoemaker.

Mr. Brandeberry retired in 1992 from Archer Daniels Midland with more than 26 years of service. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Merchant Marine veteran.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Ring officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery.Visitation was 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where the Rosary was prayed at 4:30 p.m.

Brandt, Esther M.

Esther M. Brandt, 94, formerly of Carey, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2005.

She was born Sept. 9, 1910 in Marywood to Louis and Mary (Wurm) Schneider. She married Leo E. Brandt on Nov. 22, 1932 at St. Michael Church, Marywood, and he died May 31, 1988.

She was survived by sons, Edward (Ruth), Fremont; Leonard (Terri), Traverse City, MI; daughters, Marie Miller, Republic; Berneda (Vincent) Grine, Fostoria; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three step great-grandchildren; three step great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerald, Louis Jr. and Eugene, all of Bellevue; and sister, Eileen Wise, Republic. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Arthur Miller; grandchildren, Barbara, Larry and Kenny Grine; sisters, Lucille Schneider, Anita Miller and Alma Leis; and brothers, Urban and Arnold Schneider.

Mrs. Brandt was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown and the Rosary Altar Society.

Visitation was 3 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Traunero Funeral Home, Tiffin, Ohio, where there was a wake service at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown, Rev. Ron Schock officiated. Burial was in St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery.

Donna Belle Bomer, 75, Bradner, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo. She was born April 11, 1930 in Hancock County to Floyd Hearl and Ardena (Wagner) Bloom. She married Robert E. Bomer Sr. on Jan. 24, 1948 in Russell, Ky.

She was survived by her husband, Bradner; son, Randall E., Risingsun; daughter, Brenda K. Kinner, Bradner; sisters, Lurie Getz, Houston, TX; Maxine Phelps, Fostoria; Janet Elarton, Port Charlotte, FL; Nada Ream McCormick, SC; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert E., Jr.; and brothers, Walter and Von Bloom.

Mrs. Bomer retired from Ex-Cell-O Textron Airfoil Division, Fostoria. She was former member of West Millgrove Congregational Church, West Millgrove.

Butler, Beth J.

Beth Jane (McClead) Butler, 85, of Stinchcomb Drive, Fostoria, died at 12:15 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2005 at Fostoria Community Hospital. A native of Fostoria, she was born May 31, 1920 to the late Clarence and Chloe (Mills) McClead. She married Alva Butler in September 1937 and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1965.

Survivors included: daughters, Sue A. Riehle and Pamela J. Carroccio, both of Findlay; Rebecca J. (Jeff) Crawmer, Fostoria; sons, Daniel L. (Rita), Fostoria; Ronald L. (Donita), Lakeview; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Fawn McClung and Lillian Wice, both of Fostoria. A son, Thomas E., and sister, Harriet Thrailkill, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Butler retired in 1978 from Fostoria City Schools as a cafeteria worker for 10 years. She also worked at Autolite, Good Shepherd Home and Sherwood Plastics, all in Fostoria. Mrs. Butler was member of the former Bethel United Methodist Church and had been attending Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria. She was a member of the Senior Center, Eagles Auxiliary and member and past president of the Women of the Moose, all in Fostoria.

A memorial service was held at 11a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2005 at the Foursquare Gospel Church, the Revs. Jerry Morgan and Dr. Brian Jones officiated. A luncheon and gathering followed in the church hall. Private burial took place in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

D. Robert Avery Sr., 73, Wayne, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. He was born Aug. 6, 1931 in Wayne to Robert Joseph Avery and Nora (Lombard) Avery Sawyer. He married Edna M. Haas on Feb. 19, 1955 in Angola, Ind.

He was survived by his wife, Wayne; sons, D. Robert Jr., Fostoria; Michael J., Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Virginia S. Corkins, Las Vegas, NV; half brother, Lynn Sawyer, Findlay; half sister, Lila Hille, Risingsun; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.

Mr. Avery retired from the former Haughton Elevators, Toledo. He graduated from Montgomery Township High School in 1949.

Bullock, Rodger A.

Rodger A. Bullock, 60, of Mills River, N.C., died Friday, July 1, 2005 at Pardee Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was a native of Ohio and a prior resident of Indianapolis, IN, before moving to Henderson County 20 years ago. He was the son of the late Charles and Selma Drake Bullock. His stepfather was Ernest Perkins.

Surivivors included his wife of 35 years, Frances Knox; sons, Rodney, Etowah, NC; Ryan (Crystal), Hendersonville, NC; sisters, Velma Groves and Carolyn Biddle of Fostoria; Charlene (Jerry) Raitz, Tiffin; brother, Robert (Brenda), Fostoria; grandchildren, Rebecca, Tanner and Teegan Bullock; Goddaughters Tracy Flaugher and Tonya Rozelle, both of Findlay; Godson, Zachary Allen Thompson, Fostoria; and his mother-in-law, Thelma Knox, Fostoria.

He was an administration sergeant for the Detention Center for the Henderson County Sheriff's Department for 19 years. He was a member of the Baptist Faith. He served in the United States Air Force.

The family received friends at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at Kirby Memorial Chapel, Shuler Funeral Home, Rev. Keith Honeycutt officiated. Walter A. Bish, 67, Van Buren Street, passed away at 3:45 p.m. July 3, 2005 at his home. He was born July 24, 1937 in Templeton, PA to Russell and Mary (Myers) Bish. He married Cleo J. McCullough on Jan. 3, 1957 in Fostoria.

He was survived by his wife, Fostoria; daughters, Sheryl Mora and Candace (Randy) Gerritsen, both of Fostoria; son John (Iris), Ord, NE.; grandchildren, Carly, Rachel, Keith, Jordan, Richard, Hannah, Larry, Marcus, Joel, Ian; great-grandchild, Kilie; and brother, Paul (Joanne) Bish, Templeton, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold, Samuel, Russell, George, Raymond, Mern, Clayton and an infant brother.

Mr. Bish worked at General Dynamics, Lima, and Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arcadia. He was a member of the Fostoria Assembly of God Church.

Frank Aaron Bacon, 32, of Huntersville, NC, died July 5, 2005. He was born in Ohio on Jan. 26, 1973 to Frank and Patricia Bacon of Cornelius, N.C.

He attended Grace Covenant Church and was a 1991 graduate of North Mecklenburg High School.

Adams, Jane Walsh

Jane Walsh Adams, Fostoria, passed on in Tucson, Ariz. on July 7, 2005.

She was survived by sister, Marilynn Grine, Fostoria; daughter, Sharon Knoke, Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Mary Baptist and Jason Knoke; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary L. Walsh, and a brother, Gene Walsh.

Jane had extensive career with UAW Local 533. She was a National Bargaining Delegate. She served on the National Pension Board, the National Organizing Staff of UAW, Detroit, MI, the National Organizing Staff of IUD, Washington, DC, the state staff of Ohio AFL-CIO, and was the Regional Director COPE National AFl-CIO, Western Region. Jane remained a member of COPE Staff, Ohio AFL-CIO since 1956 and a member of Local 533 UAW and Local 439 IUE until her death.

Brooks, Randolph, Sr.

Randolph Brooks, Sr., 85, Fostoria, passed away at 2:57 A.M., Friday, July 8, 2005 at Fostoria Community Hospital. Mr. Brooks was born Jan. 2, 1920 in Griffin, GA. to the late Thomas and Susie (Bentley) Brooks. He married Julia M. Tanner-Elmore on Feb. 4, 1961 in Toledo, OH, and she survived in Fostoria

Also surviving were daughter, Suzette E. Brooks-Gilchrist, Toledo, son, James Christopher (Lisa), Gulfport, MI, stepson, Bennie Elmore, three step daughters, Dorothy Pitts, Betty Jo Smith and Eva Mae Elmore; brothers, Eddie, Fostoria and Prentice, Atlanta, GA; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Son, Randolph, Jr., brothers, John and Robert Brooks, and sister, Kathryn Brooks, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Brooks retired in 1976 from the Chrysler Foundry in Fostoria after 33 years. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and a former member of First Baptist Church, Fostoria. Mr. Brooks was a devoted Mason.

Funeral services were 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 12, 2005 in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. The United Veterans of Fostoria conducted military graveside rites at the Veterans Memorial Chapel of Fountain Cemetery. Burial followed. Friends were invited to call the funeral home on Monday evening from 5-8 P.M. where Masonic memorial services were held at 7:30 P.M.

Jeremy Joseph Bond, 25, 701 E. Findlay St., Carey, died at 3:15 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2005 at his residence. He was born Nov. 26, 1979 in Findlay to Gary Bond and Tonya (Conley) Gary. His father survives in Orlando, FL and his mother and stepfather, Erol Gary, survive in Carey.

He was also survived by son, Draven Skylar Billy, Findlay; daughter, Cheyanne Heaven-Lee Pierce, Fostoria; maternal grandmother, Carol Conley, Carey; maternal great-grandmother, Gracie Pinks, Ada; and sister, Crystal (Ryan) Weidner, Fostoria. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Mr. Billy Conley; maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman (June) Conley; and maternal great-grandpa, Mr. Dewey Pinks.

Anderson, Kenneth Vernell “Kenny”

Kenneth Vernell "Kenny" Anderson, age 88, Arcadia died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005 at his residence. He was born July 2, 1917 in Findlay to Ivan Gale and Tracy Faye (Rish) Anderson. On Sept. 5, 1937, he married Dessie Bovee and she passed away Oct. 29, 2004.

He was survived by: son, Lee (Deb), Arlington; daughters, Janis (Samuel) Moyer, Findlay; Nancy (Milton) Aysh, Genoa; and Joyce (Stan) Scarbrough of rural Findlay; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Marvin (Glenrose), Manistique, MI. One infant sister, Maxine Anderson, preceded him in death.

Mr. Anderson was mechanic and owner of Anderson Lawnmower Sales and Service. He also was head mechanic and bus driver for the Arcadia Local Schools for 25 years, a Washington Townshship volunteer firefighter for over 30 years and a member of the Arcadia United Methodist Church.

Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home. Services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2005 at funeral home, Pastor Michael Malcosky officiated. Burial was in Arcadia Cemetery, Washington Township.

Bowman, Nellie M.

Nellie M. Bowman, 91, Fostoria,died at 8:45 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005 in the Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, where she was a four year resident. She was born Aug. 1, 1914 in Fostoria to the late Ernest R. and Celia L. (Flechtner) Dicken. She married Lloyd L. Bowman on Aug. 4, 1940, and he died March 14, 1988.

She was survived by: daughters, Eileen (Joe) Morris, Little Rock, AR; Betty (Robert) Straub, Dallas, TX; sons, Dale (Teresina), Springboro, OH; Gary (Sandy), Clayton, OH; sister, Betty (Royal) Harrison, Fostoria; brother Ernest Dicken, Grand Rapids, OH; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A sister, Priscilla Good, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bowman was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, The Gideons Auxiliary, and Washington Center Grange.

Anderson, Keith J.

Keith J. Anderson, 59, Tiffin, passed away suddenly Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005 while camping at Maumee Bay State Park. He was born in London, England on Feb. 2, 1946 to Joseph Bernard and Rita E. (Stacey) Anderson. His mother survived in Tiffin. On Nov. 11, 1966, he married Sandra Roberts and she survived in Tiffin.

Other survivors include: son Mike (Bille Sue), Tuscaloosa, AL; daughter, Becky (Joe) Dandurand, Huron; brothers, Paul (Karen), Franklin; Joe (Diane), Republic; brother-in-law, Alan (Cathy) Roberts, Tiffin; and two grandchildren, Sophie and Joseph Dandurand.

Mr. Anderson was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He graduated from Calvert High School in 1964 and attended Tiffin University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970 as an MP at White Sands Missile Range. He was a set-up man at Honeywell Automotive for 36 1/2 years.

Funeral Mass was 10:30 a.m. At St Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin. Burial was at a later date. Friends visited from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack funeral Home, Tiffin. A Christian Wake Service was at 4 p.m.

Edna Marie Boroff, 87, 166 Riverside Drive, Tiffin, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005. She was born Nov. 19, 1917 in Eden Township to John W. and Ruth A. (Gahris) Boroff. Both are deceased. She never married.

She was survived by sister, Mildred A. Good, London, OH; brothers, Ralph E. (Betty), Cherokee Hills, AR; Robert W. (Esther), Mansfield; 17 nieces and nephews; and a number of grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, John J.; sister-in-law, Janice L. (Hoffert) Boroff; and brother-in-law, Paul J. Good.

Edna graduated from Melmore High School and Chicago Evangelistic Institute. She received her nursing certification while working at Women's and Children's Hospital in Chicago.

In early 1947, the World Gospel Mission, Marion, IN assigned her to a newly established clinic at Tenwek, Bomet, Kenya, Africa where she was the only medical caregiver for hundreds of miles for several years. There she became maternity ward head help the clinic grow into a modern-day hospital.

In 1997, she received the Head-of-State Commendation from Kenyan President Daniel Moi for her work in improving the living conditions of the Kipsigis and Masai people. This is the highest award given to a civilian by the Kenyan government and only the second one give to a non-national. A new maternity wing was also dedicated in her honor in 1989.

She retired to Tiffin in 1989, she remaining active until her death. Edna was a life-long member of the Melmore United Methodist Church.

Friends visited from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2 at the Hoffmann-Gottfriend-Mack Funeral Home. A memorial service was 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at Melmore United Methodist Church followed by visitation and a luncheon. Burial was private at Rock Creek Cemetery.

Aldrich, Dawn M.

Dawn M. Aldrich, 54, Risingsun, died early Thursday morning, Aug. 18, 2005 at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green. She was born on Aug. 29, 1950 in Fostoria to Richard and Bonnie (Morgart) Jacquot. On Feb. 15, 1969 she married Gerald Aldrich at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Millersville. He died on November 23, 2004.

Surviving were children: Mark, Fostoria; Andrew (Nichole), Gibsonburg; Matthew, Risingsun; Megan, Fostoria; siblings, Randal Jacquot, Joy (Earl) Morse, Renee (Jeff) Scherger, Daniel Jacquot, Lisa (Terry) Kille; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Dawn was a 1968 graduate of Lakota High School, a homemaker, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Millersville.

Visitation was 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, August 21 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, Rev. Ted Miller officiated. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Bowen, Olen Junior “OJ”

Olen Junior "OJ" Bowen, 82, Portage, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005 in his home. He was born July 22, 1923 in Rudolph to Oren and Cora (Allen) Bowen. He married Clara "Corky" Swain on July 5, 1946 in Bowling Green.

Olen left behind Corky, his wife; sons, Danny (Jamie), Sylvania; Dennis (Pam), Bowling Green; daughters, Cindy (Mark) Sidle, Wayne; Barbara (Rick) Knapp, Charleston, SC; brother, James, Carson City, NV; sister, Golden Stewart, Bowling Green; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Kenneth, Clayton, Henry, Willard and sisters, Lula Mae Wenner and Betty Wenner.

Olen was an elevator mechanic with Kerscher Elevator Co., Toledo, for 36 years. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Toledo, Albert Bowe American Legion Post #338 in Bradner and the Bavarian Club in Toledo.

A World War II veteran, Olen served with the 101st Airborne and was an recipient of the Purple Heart.

Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, Pastor Scott Estep officiated. Burial was in Weaver Cemetery in Bloom Township, Wood County. Military rites were performed by Albert Bowe American Legion Post #338.

Arias, Hayden Michael

Hayden Michael Arias was stillborn on Friday, Aug. 19, 2005 in Toledo. He was survived by parents, Jose L. Arias Jr. and Ashley N. Messersmith, both of Tiffin; maternal grandparents, Beth Messersmith and David Wertz, Sycamore; Bobby and Theresa Brown, McCutchenville; paternal grandparents, Jose L. Arias Sr., Tiffin; Christina Arias, Fremont; maternal great-grandparents, Sarah Brown, Carey; Kenneth and Betty Messersmith, McCutchenville; paternal great-grandfather, Ben Pacheco, Arkansas; and adoptive paternal great-grandparents, Ron and Flo Sellers, Tiffin.

Graveside services were 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Pastor Rex King officiated. There was no visitation.

Arrangements were handled by Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore.


Bugner, William L. “Bill”

William L. "Bill" Bugner, 69, Van Buren Street, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005 at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1935 in Fostoria to Joseph and Agnes (Lafontaine) Bugner. He married Marilyn R. Ink on May 17, 1958 in St. Mary's Church, Tiffin.

He was survived by his wife, Fostoria; daughters, Michele Smith, Findlay; Cynthia (Michael) Clark, Lisa (Thomas) Molyet and Amy (James) Elchert, all of Fostoria; brothers, Franklin (Marilyn), Tiffin; Lowell and Steven (Rose), both of Fostoria; sisters, Jane (Herman) VandeKerkhoff, Fostoria; Mary Jo (Michael) Dudgeon, Florence, SC; sister-in-law, Lois Bugner, Fostoria; grandchildren, Todd (Leslie) Smith, Ryan Smith, Jessica (Ryan) Lucius, Aaron Clark, Sarah and Emily Molyet, McKinzie, Halley and Kaylin Elchert.; and two great-grandchildren, Jordyn Hines and Landyn Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Martin Bugner.

Bill retired in 1991 from Atlas Crankshaft after more than 35 years in maintenance. He also worked with his brother, Steve, at B&B Pallet Co. in Fostoria. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. He attended St. Wendelin High School.

He was a member of Fostoria K of C, Fostoria United Sportsman's Club, St. Wendelin Mohawk Club and Fostoria Athletic Boosters.

Visitation was 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home where the Rosary was prayed at 7:45 p.m. and at 10:15 a.m. Friday at the church. Funeral Mass was 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.

Baird, Martha P.

Martha P. Baird, 77, of Bowling Green, died at her residence Saturday morning, Aug. 27, 2005. She was born Aug. 11, 1928 in Bloomdale to Harley and Mary (Meeker) Lee. She married Robert L. Baird on Feb. 19, 1949 and he died Oct. 15, 2004.

Surviving were son, Michael (Carol), Southampton, NY; daughter, Rebecca (David) Lybarger, Wayne; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Winifred Messmer, Bowling Green; Helen King, Bloomdale; and brothers, Charles Lee, Tallahassee, FL and Ronnie Lee, Pemberville. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Shari Baird; a sister, Orpha Campbell; and brothers, Bob and Harold.

Mrs. Baird was a member of Eagleville Church of Christ and the U.A.W. She retired from Allied Automotive in Fostoria.

Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the Smith-Crates Funeral Home, North Baltimore. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005 at the funeral home, Pastor Lee Hiney officiated. Burial was in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township, Wood County.

Franklin G. "Frank" Aller, 83, Sycamore, died at 1:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2005 at his residence. He was born to Clarence F. and Laura (Kloeppel) Aller.

He was survived by his wife, Margaret R. "Peg", Sycamore; children, Jane Hecker, Upper Sandusky; Nancy Bentz, Sycamore; Tim, Sycamore; Rod, Lima; sister, Pauline Sherman, Tiffin; and stepsister, Jeri Bowersox, Tiffin.

Elva Baker, 96, Lima, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2005 at Lima Manor Nursing Home, Lima. She was born to Daniel and Myrtle (Chaney) Baker.

She was survived by daughter, Kathryn Hammons, Lima; brother, Earl, Bettsville; and sister, LaVonne Swanger, Fremont.

Shawn Keith Bryant-Bey Jr., was stillborn at 11:48 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.

He was survived by his parents, Lori Meadows and Shawn Bryant-Bey Sr., Findlay; sister, Jayden Bryant-Bey, at home; maternal grandparents, Susan (Frank) Nelson; William (Cynthia) Sheridan, both of Fostoria; and paternal grandmother, Ruth Williamson, Media, Ill.

Bulkowski, Maxine L.

Maxine L. Bulkowski, 84, Fostoria, died 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005 at her residence. She was born Nov. 24, 1920 in Sperry, Okla. to the late Elmer R. and Ina (Pittman) Lentz. She married Chester "Chet" Bulkowski on March 31, 1940 in Napoleon, Ohio, and he died Nov. 29, 2004.

Survivors included daughter, Jolene B. Hill, Columbus; son, John S., Fostoria; three grandchildren, Kristin L. (Greg) Hymrod, Brian J. (Jessica) Bulkowski, and John D. (Susan) Hill; two great-grandchildren, Margaret Elizabeth Hill and Jacob Lee Hymrod; a brother, Clyde Lentz, Port Clinton; and a sister, Mary Ellen Smith, Fayetteville, AR. She was preceded in death by sister, Zelma "Polly" Shields; and brothers, H. Avon and E. Raymond.

Maxine retired in 1982 from RCA, Findlay after 28 years of service. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and its Rosary-Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, Sandusky River Valley Doll Club, and the Kopy Kats.

Visitation was 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Wake service was at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where a Rosary was prayed at 10 a.m. Burial followed in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials were suggested to St. Wendelin Church and Schools or Community Hospice Care, Tiffin.


Brady, Sylvia M.

Sylvia M. Brady, 67, Fostoria, died Friday morning 8:08 a.m. in Fostoria Community Hospital, Sept. 23, 2005. Sylvia was born March 10, 1938 in Leon, W.Va. to the late Wilma and Savannah (Miller) Wilson. She married Bernard Edward Brady on Oct. 1, 1955 in the First Church of God, Risingsun, and he died March 21, 1979.

She was survived by son, Michael (Rumiko), Sun City, Calif.; granddaughter, Micheal Brady; stepgrandson, Shawn; nephews, Richard Wilson, Leon, W.Va; Paul Worcester, Fostoria; and sister-in-law, Kay Bickelhaupt, Fostoria. She was preceded in death by brothers, Walter and Wilbur Wilson.

Sylvia was a hair stylist and the former owner of "Friendly's Hair Salon", and co-owner of "New Beginnings Hair Salon" Fostoria. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Fostoria.

Visitation was 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday morning at Mann-Hare Funeral Home. Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005 in the funeral home, Fostoria, Pastor Barb Siegle presided. Burial followed in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.

Bundy, Howard I.

Howard I. Bundy, 79, Findlay, died at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005 at the Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay. He was born on Oct. 8, 1925 in Hancock County to Lewis A. and Ruby Mae (Strouse) Bundy. He married Donna Jacobs on Oct. 17, 1946 and she preceded him in death on March 28, 1999.

He was survived by daughter, Karen (Thomas) Moyer, Howard; brothers, Richard L., Auburn, IN; Wayne J., Findlay; Jerry L., Naples, FL; sisters, Marcine Mae Thomas , Hamler; Marjorie Ann Rensch, North Baltimore; four grandchildren, Gwen, Jill, Beth, and Edward; and seven great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Austin, Ian, Sarena, Rachel, Kamala, and Gavin. Also preceding him in death were brothers, Bernard L. and Robert.

Howard retired after 41 years from Cooper Tire Rubber Company, Findlay. He was a former member of the Fostoria Elks Club and various bowling leagues.

Visitation was held 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. A funeral service was held at noon Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005 at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, Rev. Lowell Reeder officiated. Burial was in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay, where the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad performed full military rites./P>

Arnold, LaDonna

LaDonna Arnold, 76, Tiffin, passed away at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005. A native Fostorian, LaDonna was born on April 8, 1929 to Alta (Paugh) and Franklin Rader. She graduated from Fostoria High School in 1947. LaDonna and Lewis Arnold were married on Oct. 25, 1947 in Covington, Ky. LaDonna had been ill with Alzheimer's Disease for several years and had resided at Elmwood at the Shawhan Care Center for the past 22 months.

She was survived by children, Chris (Jane) Arnold, LuAnn (Mark) Tooley and Lori (Mark) Grine, all of Tiffin; Sandra (Greg) Scott, Bascom. She was also very proud of her 12 grandchildren: Janell Scott, Jodi (Dave) Barnett, Alicia Arnold, Aaron (Amber) Scott, Jaclyn Tooley, Adam Arnold, Nicole Tooley, Tiffany Grine, Austin Arnold, Jason Tooley, Kelsey Grine and Kaleb Grine, sisters, Garlyn (William) Saldusky and Phyllis Richard, both of Fostoria. She was preceded in death by sister, Cozetta Daring.

She was a homemaker, member of Ebenezer United Methodist church, Tiffin.

Friends called from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20,2005, at the Traunero Funeral Home, Tiffin, and one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2005 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Rev. Scott Hayward officiated. Burial followed in Rock Creek Cemetery, rural Tiffin.

Beamer, Duane A.

Duane A. Beamer, rural Arcadia, died at home on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005. He was 71. He was born in Fostoria on Aug. 8, 1934 to Robert C. and Velma (Heinze) Beamer. He married Kay Kieffer on Dec. 10, 1954 and she survived.<.P>

He was also survived by sons Layne A. (Michyl-Shannon), Trent A. (Lisa), Brock A. (Lynne), Dirk A. (Jessica) and Chase A. Beamer; daughters Beth (Jim) Kiper and Kendra (Dennis) Holman, and siblings, Roma (Gene) Switzer and Bob (Jeanette) Beamer, and 12 grandchildren.

Duane served Trinity Lutheran Church, Arcadia, as a teacher, council member, treasurer, choir member and on finance and property committees. He was Washington Township clerk-treasurer, Hancock County School Board Member, and Arcadia Lions Club member and past-president. For 23 years, Duane served as a member of the Arcadia School Board, holding multiple offices during his tenure.

Duane retired after 35 years with the Marathon Oil Company. He was active in the American Petroleum Institute nationally and chaired two committees on state taxation.

Friends were received by the family at the church from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 4 and from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5. A memorial service was at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday with a meal immediately following.

Beidelschies, Florence I.

Florence I Beidelschies, 89, Upper Sandusky, died at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. She was born Sept, 3, 1916 in Salem Township, Wyandot County to Arthur and Blanche (Best) Gottfried. She married Fred W. Beidelschies on Sept. 1, 1939 at North Salem Lutheran parsonage and he died Nov. 29, 1992.

She was survived by son, Larry A. (Ruth Ann), Tiffin; twin daughters, Mrs. Rose Ann (Marion) Weaver, Upper Sandusky; Mrs. Phyllis (Ronald) Bosler, Tiffin; eight grandchildren, Dean Weaver, DeAnn Funkhouser, Brian Bolser, Eric Beidelschies, Denise Breiner, Brett Bosler, Scott Beidelschies and Tim Beidelschies; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Norman, A. David and Charles, all of Upper Sandusky; and sisters, Beulah (Clair) Bishop, Findlay; Arabel (Charles) Frisch, Forest; and Margaret (Eugene) Chandler, Upper Sandusky. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lester and Russell Gottfried; and sister, Arlene Walton.

Mrs. Beidelschies was a homemaker and had worked for Wally Passet Poultry Farm in the Salem Township School cafeteria and the Upper Sandusky School System. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Upper Sandusky. She attended Salem School.

Visitation was 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lucas-Batton Funeral HomeUpper Sandusky. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, Rev. Brian Peltomaa officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Bercaw, D. George

Donald George Bercaw, 55, Fostoria, died on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay. He was born on Feb. 17,1950 in Fostoria to Donald and Margaret (Ropp) Bercaw.

He was survived by three sons, John (Tania), Doug, both of Fostoria and Steve (Loretta), Findlay; three step-brothers, Jerry, David and Les Bader, all of Florida; one sister Mary Newlove, Clarksbille, TN; three step-sisters, LuAnn Winston, FL, Brenda Bomer, NC and Melody Bader, Findlay; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Bercaw was employed at Johnson Rubber Co. in North Baltimore. He was a 1968 graduate of Fostoria High School and a U.S. Army veteran.

Services were 11 a.m. Friday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, the Rev. Donald Goodwin officiated. Burial took place in Fountain Cemetery, where military honors were provided by the United Veterans of Fostoria. Visitation was Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
