Hospital, Inverness, Fla.
She was born Nov. 26,
1926 in Fostoria to Lester and Dorothy Hartley. She married
Richard L Heischman Jan. 31, 1970 and he survives in Floral City,
Fla.
Also surviving are two
sons, David M. Heischman, Orlando Fla. and Steven C. Risner, Plant
City, Fla.; three daughters, Sandra
L. Bushong, Ocoee, Fla.; Linda Kay Hartman, Summerfield, Fla.
and Vickie S. Risner, Floral City, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by three brothers and one sister.
She retired from Excello
Corporation, Mrs. Heischman was of the Protestant faith.
Funeral services will
be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Charles E. Davis Funeral Home Inverness,
Fla. with the Rev. Clarence Helms officiating. Burial
will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Florida National Cemetery.
Visitation will be today
from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

II, 71, of Fostoria, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mann-Hare

Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, with military
rites by United Veterans of Fostoria.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday
at the funeral home.
Mr. Harris died at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003
at Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 3, 1932 in Fostoria to James Thomas
and Mollie (Lind) Harris. He married Carolyn Sue Cairns
on Feb. 1, 1958 at Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, James T. III of Philadelphia;
two grandchildren; and two brothers, Nelson of Atlanta;
and Jack of Lexington.
Mr. Harris retired from Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria,
where he worked for more than 30 years as a foreman, production
supervisor and profit center manager.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving
as a petty officer aboard the aircraft carrier USS Coral
Sea.
He was a 1950 graduate of Fostoria High School and attended
Bowling Green State University.
He was a member of American Legion, VFW and AMVETS,
all in Fostoria; was named 1974 Boss of the Year by the
Jaycees; and volunteered at Fostoria United Way.

FOSTORIA -- Funeral services for Alfred O. Ickes,
76, of Atkins Avenue, Fostoria, will be held at 10:30
a.m. today at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev.
Terry Steinhauer officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest
Gardens, east of Findlay.
Visitation will be held an hour before services today
at the funeral home.
Mr. Ickes died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003
at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
He was born Aug. 10, 1926 in Eldorado, Kan. to Oscar
and Geraldine (Cooley) Ickes. He married Betty Wildman
on June 18, 1947, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Charles of Fostoria;
and Dean of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Mary)
German, Arcadia; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
and a sister, Bessie Greeno, North Baltimore.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren; and
two brothers, Albert and Sylvester.
Mr. Ickes retired in 1985 as a mechanic at Union Carbide
Co. (now National Electrical Carbon) after 40 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He attended New Hope Center, Fostoria; and was a member
of Fostoria Moose Lodge 1567, Findlay VFW Post 5645, North
Baltimore American Legion Post 539 and North Baltimore Eagles
Aerie 2633.

HILL, RUSSELL H.
Russell H. Hill, 52, of 511 Monticello Drive, Fostoria,
died at 4:21 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, in St. Luke's Hospital,
Lucas County, Maumee.
He was born Nov. 29, 1950, in Sandusky, to Richard and
Pearl (Smith) Hill. His father is deceased and his mother
survives. On July 5, 1985, in Calvary United Methodist
Church, Green Springs, he married Candela Leichty, who survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Carson Jordan Hill of Fostoria,
a brother, Richard Hill of Fremont and a sister, Becky Martinez
of Wayne.
A sister died in infancy.
Mr. Hill, a graduate of Fremont Ross High School, retired
from the U.S. Army. He had been stationed in Germany. He was
a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Green Springs,
Fostoria Eagles and the Disabled American Veterans, where
he was a lifetime member. He had resided in Fostoria
since 1985.
The service will be at noon Thursday, Jan. 23, in Calvary
United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jared Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Green Springs Cemetery, with militaary graveside
services.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Thursday until time of the service.

HEISHMAN, WILLIAM G.
William G. Heishman, 74, of Midvale Avenue, Clyde, died
Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Firelands Regional Medical Center
in Sandusky.
He was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Castalia to the late Glenn
and Dolores (Velizuette) Heishman. He married Helen (Benner)
Heishman Sept. 15, 1952. She died in June 1950. He married
Mary (Brown) Heishman Feb. 25, 1961. She survives.
Also surviving are: four sons, Benjamin Heishman, Samuel
Heishman, Roy James Heishman and John Homer Heishman, all
of Fremont; three daughters, Linda Benner of Clyde, Jeannie
Cleveland of Fremont and Irene Frazier of Clyde; nine Fremont;
three daughters, Linda Benner of Clyde, Jeannie Cleveland
of Fremont and Irene Frazier of Clyde; nine grandchildren
and eight step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild and two
step great-grandchildren; three brothers, Elmer Heishman
and Wayne Heishman, both of Clyde, and Kenneth Heishman
of Fostoria.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Mitchell-Auxter
Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.

HUTTON, EILEEN KAY
Eileen Kay Hutton, 59, of 116 E. Bigelow Ave.,
died at 1:02 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003 at Blanchard
Valley Regional Health Center.
She was born June 25, 1943 in Fostoria to Carroll
A. and Shirley (Eblen) Criss. She married Max Hutton
on June 25, 1966, and he survives.
Also surviving are a son, David of Findlay;
a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Debra) Hosler, Findlay; three
grandchildren; two brothers, Eldon Criss, Clyde; and Walter
Criss, Fostoria; and a sister, Mrs. William (Carolyn)
King, Fostoria.
Mrs. Hutton retired in 2001 as a press operator
at Centrex after 25 years, and co-owned SoftScent
candle shop.
She was a member of College First Church of
God.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday
at the church, the Rev. William Reist officiating. Burial
will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

HARLETT, PATRICIA
Patricia Ann McCrory Harlett (11-24-32 1-11-03) came
into this world on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 24, 1932)
to Harry and Vivian McCrory in Tiffin, Ohio. She died
Jan. 11, 2003.
After graduation from Columbian High School, she
married James Harlett in 1952. They started a dry cleaning
business in Tiffin, then in Toledo where they co-owned
many restaurants and night clubs. After her divorce
she moved to Deerfield Beach where she owned and operated
the World's Trade Computer.
She will be missed by her children: Jennifer Harlett,
Jeff (Kelly) Harlett, Jill (Denny) Kaminski, Jackie
(Jerome) Slowinski; grandchildren: Joshua Feasel, Chrissy
and Vickie Kaminski, Brook, Brady and Bridgett Harlett;
aunt and uncle Phyllis and Dick Switzer.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter
Jyllian Feasel.
Her smile and comfort will be missed by all she touched
and those who loved her.
Memorial Mass will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at
St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. James K. Say will
be officiating. A rosary will be prayed at 12:45 p.m.
at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Herbert R. "Herbie" Hohman, 77, of 58 N. Perry
St., New Riegel, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in the
emergency room of Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born July 15, 1925, in Seneca County, to
Ferdinand A. and Estella (Woyciehowski) Hohman. They
are deceased.
He married Helen R. (Kimmet) Hohman on Oct. 1,
1949, at St. Andrews in Liberty Township. She survives.
Also surviving are: a son Michael J. (Rebecca)
Hohman of Tiffin; three daughters, Mrs. Michael (Karen
A.) Dotson of Fostoria, Mrs. Steven (Shirley A.) Seifert
of Tiffin and Mrs. Cindy S. Coffey of Lyndhurst; three
brothers, Leo Hohman of Bowling Green, Norbert Hohman
of Tiffin and Donald C. Hohman of New Riegel; and
a sister, Mrs. Roy (Rosa) Keller of Tiffin; eight
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Hohman;
a grandchild; three brothers, Edward, John and Arthur
Hohman; and three sisters, Alexina, Hilda and Rita.
Mr. Hohman was a production foreman at Bendix-Allied
Signal retiring in 1980, after 33 1/2 years. He was
also caretaker at St. Boniface Cemetery for 27 years.
He graduated from New Riegel High School in 1943.
Mr. Hohman was a U.S.Navy Motor Machinist's Mate Second
Class serving during World War II in the Pacific Area.
He was a life member of the American Legion of
New Riegel Post 354; 40-8 Voiture 1057; Life Member
of VFW of Carey Post 3759; Sandusky River Coon Hunters;
C K of O Branch 52; Moose 872; USS L. C. I. National

Mary E. Hartschuh, 89, of 338 Benton Rd., Sycamore,
Ohio, died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003,
at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, due
to an auto accident which occurred on Sunday.
She was born April 23, 1913, to William F. and
Almina (Stuckey) Creeger in Seneca County and they
are deceased. She married Herman S. Hartschuh June
11, 1949; and he died March 31, 1991.
Survivors include: Mrs. Tom (Dola) Loose of rural
Sycamore, Bette Hartschuh of Findlay, Mr. Tim (Susan)
Hartschuh of rural Tiffin, Mr. Rick (Jolynn) Hartschuh
of Upper Sandusky; Mr. Brad Hartschuh of rural Tiffin,
Mr. Jed Hartschuh of rural Sycamore; eight grandchildren,
Kelly Dentinger, Brett Loose, Kurt Loose, Daniel
Hartschuh, Tessa Hartschuh, Jacob Hartschuh, Derek
Hartschuh, Courtney Comstock; eight great-grandchildren,
and a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Reiss of Fostoria.
Also deceased are: a daughter, Linda Hartschuh
who died in 1998; two brothers, Glenn and Robert

She was a homemaker; attended Sycamore United

of the church. She loved her family very much.

Guard, Eagles Aerie 2118 and Liberty Township

Ruth A. Hotelling, 55 formerly of 578 West

She was born on June 6, 1947, in Tiffin,
to the late Kenneth L. and Maybelle K. (Risner)
Logsdon. She married Thomas F. Hotelling on
Aug. 24, 1968, in Our Lady of Consolation
in Carey. He died on Nov. 11, 2000.
Surviving are: a son, Aaron T. Hotelling
of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Dana J. Hotelling
of Carey; five grandchildren; two brothers,

He later married Marie Clinger on
April 16, 1988, and she survives.

preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son,
Brian (Lenor) of Tucson; son-in-law,
Leo Schiltz of Caldwell, KS; brother,
Ronald Loe (Sylvia) of Temperance,
MI and two grandchildren, Kaitlin
Harpel and Michael Schiltz.
She was a former member of
Holy Cross Lutheran Church in
Toledo and a long-standing member
of Fountain of Life Church in
Tucson.

loved to travel in their motorhome
throughout the United States,
Canada and Mexico.

Hospital on Sept. 26, 1974,
to Harold J. and Roseann

They survive in Tiffin.
She married the man of her
dreams, Francis Hammer Jr.,
on July 28, 2001, in St.
Mary's Catholic Church,
Tiffin and he survives.
Surviving are her two loving
sisters and brothers-in-law
being Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey
(Vicki Lynn) Turco of Bascom
and Sheri A. Reinhart and
fiancee Matt Hill of Tiffin.

College. She enjoyed working
at Seneca Medical filling
orders for various hospitals
for five years.
Kendra was a very energetic
and caring person who loved
to help anyone who needed
her. She loved to spend
time with her family, friends
and co-workers. In her spare
time she enjoyed scrapbooking
her precious memories. She
loved to work in the garden
and canning her fruits and
vegetables. She was an excellent
cook.
She was a member of St.
Andrew Catholic Church and
St. Mary's Catholic Church.

FOSTORIA -- Rolda Holden,
81, Eau Claire, Wis., and
formerly of Fostoria, died
Friday, July 25, 2003 at
her residence. She was born
April 20, 1922 in Covington,
Ky., the daughter of Roland
and Beckam (Bond) Kirk.
At the age of three her
family moved to Fostoria,
where she resided until
1999, when she moved to
Eau Claire, Wis. Rolda married
Lloyd K. Holden on August
7, 1946 in Green Bay, Wis.
Rolda valued beauty, education
and her family. She attended
Fostoria Public Schools
and enrolled in Miami University,
Oxford, where she studied
Studio Art. In 1942 circumstances
required her to leave college
and her studies. However,
she remained interested
in art, literature and music
her entire life. She particularly
enjoyed observing the beauty
of nature. Later, she returned
to college and graduated
from Bowling Green State
University with a degree
in Education. She worked
to assure that her children
could have a higher education.
For twenty years she taught
Fourth Grade for the Elmwood
School District in Bloomdale.
She believed a broad education
was beneficial to individuals
and the communities they
lived in. As a master teacher,
she influenced hundreds
of children to be curious
and to seek learning. She
also helped begin the Public
Library in Bloomdale.
Rolda's mother and father,
brothers, husband, sons,
daughters-in-law and grandchildren
were the objects of her
devotion throughout her
life. She and her family
were members of the First
Methodist Church (later
Wesley United Methodist
Church) of Fostoria for
over 60 years. She was also
a member of the First Congregational
United Church of Christ
in Eau Claire, Wis.
Survivors include Lloyd,
her husband of 57 years;
three sons, Michael (Theresa)
of Austin, Texas; Stephen
(Carol) and Tom, both of
Eau Claire, Wis.; three
grandchildren, Elizabeth
(Jesse) Holden, Santa Clara,

He was born Sept. 11, 1932
in Vanlue to Millard R.
and Mary M. (Puchta) Hagerman.
He married Carmen L. Semine
on Jan. 22, 1983 in Carey,
and she survives.
Also surviving are a son,
James Brien of Westerville;
four daughters, Bambi Wright,
Glenford; Susan Jacoby,
Carey; Beth Bhattan, Glendale,
Ariz.; and Mary Rebecca
Hagerman, Tullahoma, Tenn.;
14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
a brother, Millard R. Jr.
of Carey; and a sister,
Donna L. Sherman, Fostoria.
He was preceded in death
by a stepson, Bryndon K.S.
Anderson; and a brother,
Raymond C.
Mr. Hagerman was a custodian
at Howard United Methodist
Church, Findlay, since 2000;
and retired in 1995 from
J.C. Penney after 19 years
as maintenance supervisor.
He served in the U.S. Navy
during the Korean Warm from
1952-58, and served in the
U.S. Air Force from 1958-60
at Laon AB in France.
He was of the Protestant
faith. He was a member of
Carey American Legion Post
344, Findlay DAV Chapter
43, Navy Alumni Club, Air
Force Association, AARP
and Eagles Aerie 2198.

C. Graw on Dec. 23, 1965
in Fostoria and she survives.

a daughter, Dana (fiancé

two grandchildren, Logan
White and Justine Hunt;
an aunt, Mrs. Donald (Maxine)

three brothers and two sisters.
A 1964 graduate of Fostoria
High School, he attended
Tiffin University. He was
currently employed by Liqui-Box
Corp., Upper Sandusky, and
had previously worked for
Guardian Industries for
12 years as an engineer
technician and 17 years
as a telecommunication repairman
for Ohio Bell. Mr. Hunt
served in the Marine Corps.
during the Vietnam War as
a staff sergeant, was a
member of the American Legion
Post 225, Upper Sandusky,
and Amvets Post 777, Upper
Sandusky. Mr. Hunt enjoyed
golfing, fishing, stamp
collecting, flower and vegetable
gardening, spending time
with his grandchildren and
watching all sports.

Robert C. Hohman, 82 of

died Saturday, Oct. 11,
2003, at St. Catherine Care
Center of Fostoria.
He was born Feb. 25, 1921,
in Bascom to the late Amandus
and Cora (Schalk) Hohman.
He married Pauline (Sperow)
Hohman on Nov. 29, 1941,
at St. Patrick Catholic
Church in Bascom. She survives.
Also surviving are; a son,
John C. Hohman of Fostoria;
a daughter, Nancy L. Hohman
of Bascom; three grandchildren:
Shelly Yambert, Greg Hohman,
and Aaron Hohman; three
great-grandchildren: Jadon
Yambert, Bryce Hohman and
Hayden Hohman; and two sisters,
Anna Wyborski of Toledo
and Marge Haaser of Fostoria.
He was preceded in death
by: his five brothers, Vince,
Marion, Paul, Cletus, Henry
"Hank" Hohman;
and two sisters, Ester Amlin
and Emma Hohman.
Mr. Hohman was a set-up
man for Textron Manufacturing
in Fostoria, retiring in
1982. He was a member of
St. Patrick Catholic Church
in Bascom and a lifetime
member of the New Riegel
Moose. He enjoyed farming,
deer hunting, mushroom hunting
and fishing.
A funeral Mass will be
11 a.m. Wednesday at St.
Patrick Catholic Church
with the Rev. Art Niewiadomski
celebrating. The Rosary
will be prayed 10:45 a.m.
Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be in St. Patrick
Catholic Cemetery.

softball and at one time
was a mud volleyball champion.
He also loved his grandchildren.
During his children's elementary
years he was a volunteer
coach for soccer and t-ball
