Charles B. "Chuck" Might, 44, of Milwaukee, Wisc. died Monday,
Dec. 31, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee.
He was born Oct. 11, 1957, in Marion, Ohio to Charles F. and
Mavis (Bauman) Might. Both survive in Fostoria. He married Karen
Hanson and they were divorced. He later married Sallie Scharding
and they were divorced.
Survivors also include: a son, Travis Might of Carrboro, N.C.,
a brother, Darrell Might of Milwaukee, Wisc., and four sisters,
Mrs. Milton (Margaret "Peggy") Thompson of Racine, Wisc., Susan
Jordan of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Ancheta of Amarillo,
Texas; and Mrs. Randy (Beverly) Larson of Plantation, Fla.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Scott Trinity
United Methodist Church in Risingsun, Ohio. Interment will be
in the parish cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in
Fostoria.
Munoz, George Sr.
George Munoz, Sr., 86, currently of Wyandotte, Mich. and formerly
of Fostoria, died at 2:18 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, in Riverside
Hospital, Trenton, Mich.
He was born March 12, 1915, in Mexico to Ignacio and Carlota
(Sanchez) Munoz. He married Herlinda Venegas May 1, 1939, in Napoleon;
and she survives in Michigan.
Other survivors include: two sons, George, Jr. of Dearborn, Mich.,
and Tony of Madison Heights, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Robert
T. (Teresa A.) Gleich of Wyandotte, Mich., and Mrs. Patricia Good
of Michigan; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three
great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Soccorow Rivera of Fostoria.
He served in the Army during World War II, K Company, 3rd Battalion,
9th Infantry Div., 60th Regiment, 1st Army, Battle of the Bulge,
Hurtign Forrest.
Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Wendelin Catholic
Church, Fostoria, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at
10:30 a.m. with burial in the St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery where
the United Veterans of Fostoria will conduct military graveside
honors.
Visitation is noon-8 p.m., Sunday, in the Hoening Funeral Home,
Fostoria. Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m.
Mundwiler, Terry W.
Terry Wayne Mundwiler, 50, of Risingsun, died at 6:53 a.m. Saturday,
Jan. 5, 2002, in Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Oct. 15, 1951, in Fostoria, to Gerald and Mary E.
(Correll) Mundwiler. He is deceased and she survives in Risingsun.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Barndt Funeral Home
in Wayne. Burial will be in Bradner Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Barndt Funeral Home.

Ralph G. McClung Sr., 66, of Fostoria, died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday,
Jan. 5, 2002, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born Nov. 1, 1935, in Lewisburg, W. Va., to Charles L.
and Virginia M. (Kessler) McClung. Both are deceased. He married
Charlene M. Meyers on Jan. 5, 1957, in Chicago, Ill. She preceded
him in death Nov. 25, 2001.
Survivors are: two sons, Ralph G. McClung, Jr., and Christopher
L. McClung, both of Fostoria; two daughters, Mrs. Jess (Charlene)
Opperman of Columbus, and Mrs. David (Donna) Bucholtz of Fostoria;
a brother, Charles McClung of Orlando, Fla., a sister, Janet Minor
of Upper Sandusky; and three grandchildren.
Mr. McClung was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during the
Korean Conflict.
Services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrold-Floriana
Funeral Home in Fostoria. Graveside military honors will be conducted
by the Fostoria United Veterans Group in Fountain Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
McDannell, Charlotte M.
Charlotte M. "Gert" McDannell, 72, of Sycamore, died at 11:40
a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Mount Carmel West in Columbus,
Ohio.
She was born in Johnstown, Pa., on April 14, 1929, to Olive
(Stegman) McDannell, who is deceased. Her stepfather, Martin
McDannell is also deceased. She married Victor B. McDannell
on Nov. 9, 1946, and he died Sept. 7, 1987.
Survivors include: four sons, Glenn McDannell of McCutchenville;
Larry McDannell of rural Sycamore, Bill McDannell of rural Upper
Sandusky, and Carl McDannell, of Sycamore; two daughters, Mrs.
Vernon (Cherylann) Sheward of rural Tiffin, and Mrs. Thomas
(Sandy) Branham of Fostoria; a stepson, Alvin McDannell
of rural Tiffin; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a
brother, William Stegman of Johnstown, Pa., three half-brothers,
Aaron McDannell of Herndon, Va., Martin McDannell of Butler,
Pa., and Billy McDannell of Rockingham, Pa.
Services will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday at Walton-Moore
Funeral Home, Sycamore. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery,
Sycamore.

MOSES, ANNABELL
Annabelle Moses, 90, formerly of 172 Gibson Court, died Monday,
Jan. 14, 2002, at the Hearth and Home at Friedman Village in
Tiffin. She was born in Tiffin on July 26, 1911, to J. Otto
and Lottie (Crum) Martin, both of whom are deceased. She married
Robert O. Moses on Feb. 9, 1945, in Marion, Ind. and he died
April 4, 1984.
Survivors include: a brother-in-law, Frank M. (Betty) Moses;
nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were a brother and a sister, Mildred
Voss.
Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home, Tiffin is in charge of the
arrangements. Graveside service will be at a later date. Internment
will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
O'Donnell, Eleanor V.
Eleanor V. O'Donnell, 61, of Hamer St., Clyde, died Thursday,
Jan. 17, 2002 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.
She was born Aug. 12, 1940 to James S. and Helen E. (Feltz)
Finley. On Feb. 2, 1959 she married Stephen R. O'Donnell, and
he survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Thomas of Fostoria;
a son Stephen L. O'Donnell of Tiffin; a brother, Martin Finley
of Tiffin; two sisters, Juanita Bradshaw of Marion and Mrs.
Sarah Haas of Radnor; and eight grandchildren.
The Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21,
2002 at St. paul Lutheran Church in Clyde. Burial will be at
McPherson cemetery in Clyde.
Visitation hours are from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Mitchell-Auxter
Funeral Home in Clyde.
Millhime, Lemuel R.
Lemuel R. Millhime, 84, of Bradner Rd., Risingsun, died at
7:38 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital
in Florida. He was born Nov. 4, 1917 in Fostoria to Robert and
Ella (Pankhurst) Millhime. On March 21, 1939 he married Irma
Gschwind in Bettsville, and she survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Howard Millhime of Woodville;
two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002
at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will
be at Trinity Cemetery near Risingsun.

BLOOMDALE -- Laura J. Munger, 71, of 18923 Roanoke Drive, Bowling
Green, and formerly of Bloomdale, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan.
29, 2002, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 6, 1930, in Fostoria to Aurelius and Weltha
(Shanks) Bowman. She married Carl D. "Dewey" Munger on Oct.
1, 1950, and he died March 16, 1997.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Deborah) Dawley,
Bowling Green; Mrs. Mike (Diane) Aurand, Wayne; Cheryl A. Fasula,
Katy, Texas; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers,
William Bowman, Findlay; Raymond Bowman, Fostoria; and four
sisters, Imogene Seevers, Bluffton; Ruth Graves, Ormond Beach,
Fla.; Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Leonard, Findlay; and Anna Mae
Leathers, Sun City, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Bowman; and a
sister, Edith Babcock.
Mrs. Munger retired in 1988 after 30 years as a cook at Dunn's
Lanes, Fostoria.
She was a 1948 graduate of Arcadia High School.
She was a member of North Baltimore Eagles Club.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mann-Hare
Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. John P. Schultes officiating.
Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

Funeral services for Paul A. Nye, 84, of 6111 W. Township Road

Mr. Nye died at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at his residence.
He was born May 19, 1917, in Kansas to John F. and Frances
(Schook) Nye. He married Anna Rose Wammes on Dec. 27, 1939,
and she survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Barbara Thaxton, Risingsun;
Mrs. Jerry (Joanne) Widmer, Burgoon; Mrs. Carl (Mary) Myers
and Mrs. Alvin (Kate) Reinhart, both of Kansas; 15 grandchildren;
23 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren;
a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren; three brothers,
John, Joe and Carl; and three sisters, Mary Rose Frisch, Matilda
Minich and Theresa Reinhart.
Mr. Nye retired after 30 years at the former Chrysler foundry,
Fostoria.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Nye was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Kansas.

NORRIS, DUANE
G.
Duane G. Norris, 69, of Lompoc, Calif., died Monday, Jan. 21,
2002, at his home.
Mr. Norris was born May 8, 1932, in Fostoria, to Ivron and
Alice Burman Norris. He was a 1950 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon
School, Bascom.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later
graduated from Parks College of Aeronautics at St. Louis University.
He came to Lompoc in 1960 from Greenville, Penn., and was employed
for 30 years as a planner with Martin-Marrietta Corp. on the
Titan missile program. Following his retirement, he and his
wife volunteered for 10 summers at Yellowstone National Park.
He also enjoyed traveling, collecting antique clocks and the
family's cats.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Ruth Norris of Lompoc;
daughters, Dana Jeanne Norris of Lompoc and Carolyn Callihan
of Sacramento; son, Samuel Norris of Santa Barbara; sister,
Florence Norris of Fostoria; brothers, Henry Norris of Fostoria
and Ivron Jr. of Tiffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond.
A memorial service will be at a later date in Ohio.

James David Nelson, 57, of 330 W. Lytle St., Fostoria, and
formerly of Floyd County, Ky., died Monday morning, Feb. 11,
2002, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 5, 1945, in Williamson, W.Va., to the late
James J. and Josephine (Goodman) Nelson. His wife, Patty (Prater)
Nelson, survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: two sons, Johnny Poe and Harry Poe,
both of Findlay; a daughter, Dava Nelson of Fostoria; and seven
grandchildren.

He was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Hancock County to Earl
and Minnie (Marquart) Main. He married Barbara J. St.
Myer on Feb. 4, 1951, in Findlay, and she survives.
Also surviving are four sons, James E. Sr. of Deshler;
Paul E. of Fostoria; Thomas L. of Beulaville, N.C.; and
David A. of Findlay; a daughter, Mrs. Brian (Cindy J.) Diller,
Fostoria; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild; and
a brother, Charles.
Mr. Main retired in 1989 as owner of Dicks Auto Supply.
He also had been the former owner of Main Blacktop Co.
in Williamstown; and had worked for Cooper Tire & Rubber
Co. and the Ohio and Hancock County engineer departments.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of Williamstown First Brethren Church,
serving as a trustee; and the Findlay DAV and Odd Fellows
Lodge. He was a former Cub Scout leader of Pack 318, Arlington.

residence.
He was born Oct. 25, 1936, in Toledo to Edwin and Donelda
(Voight) Martin.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. David (JoLynne) Doster,
Fostoria; and Vonda Martin, Wakefield, Va.; two grandchildren;
and a companion, Betty A. Kuhn, Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight.
Mr. Martin was a laborer at Chrysler Foundry for 17 years,
and retired in 1997 from Ball Metal, Findlay, after 17 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1956-58.
He was a 1956 graduate of Pemberville High School, where he
was a All-State basketball player.
He attended Mount Zion United Methodist Church East, Findlay;
and was a member of Eagles Aerie 430, Fostoria.

Graveside services for Fredrick G. Martin, 79, of Port Clinton,

Mr. Martin died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2002, at
Firelands Community Hospital, Sandusky.
He was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Fostoria to Fredrick G. and
Celest "Pearl" (Meyers) Martin Sr. He married Oletha
M. Corner on Aug. 19, 1942, and she died Aug. 4, 1999.
Surviving are a son, Thomas of Fostoria; four daughters, Mrs.
Bruce (Janet) Nolan, Wayne; Mrs. Thomas (Judy) Pessell, Arcadia;
Mrs. Rick (Kathy) Cooper, Findlay; Mrs. James (Jenny) Roehl,
Toledo; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister,
Marilyn Hill, Bascom.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild; two brothers, Robert
and Donald; and two sisters, Celestia Pauline Reiter and Margaret
Hunker.
Mr. Martin retired in 1981 as a tool and die maker at Ex-Cello
Co. after more than 30 years. He was a 1941 graduate of Fostoria
High School. He was a member of First Church of Christ in
Fostoria, Nugents Yacht Club and Port Clinton VFW.

Ellene Myers, 88, of Columbus Avenue, Fostoria, died at 12:45
p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Toledo Hospital.
She was born Oct. 10, 1913, in Alvada to Herbert and Ida (Pockmire)
Snyder. She married Paul R. Myers on Aug. 22, 1936, and he
died Sept. 14, 1992.
Surviving are three sons, Rev. Paul E. of Fostoria; Darrold
D. of Houston, Texas; William L. of Union; a daughter, Mrs.
Terry (Joan) Clark, Bloomingdale, Ind.; 11 grandchildren;
18 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Snyder, Port
Charlotte, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandchild; a sister,
Pearl Rodabaugh; and five brothers, Norman, Ralph, Wilson,
Jay and Herb Snyder.
Mrs. Myers was a homemaker.
She was a member of Fostoria Church of the Brethren, and past
president of the local and district Woman's Fellowship. She
volunteered at Fostoria Sharing Kitchen and in 1969 was named
Volunteer of the Year of Fostoria YMCA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Harrold-Floriana
Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Paul E. Myers officiating.

Harriet J. Sheridan McDermott, 74, of Fostoria, died at 2
p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at
Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born March 18, 1928, in Wayne to Robert M. and Minnie
A. (Kent) Burrows. She married Frederick J. McDermott, and
they divorced. She later married Glenn E. Sheridan, and they
divorced.
Surviving are a son, Robert M. McDermott, Bradner; four daughters,
Mrs. Russ (L. Jean) Hopper, South Bend, Ind.; Mrs. James (Kathy
L.) Stahl, Helena; Mrs. Tony (Roberta M.) Giebel and Minnie
A. McDermott, both of Fostoria; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren;
and a sister, Kathleen Baker, Walbridge.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Kenneth, James,
Guy, Gene and infant Glenn Burrows; and an infant sister,
Beatrice Burrows.
Mrs. McDermott was a retired laborer for RCA (now Harris Corp.).
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
She was a 1946 graduate of Montgomery Township High School,
Wayne.

Forrest B. Omwake, 97, formerly of CR 5, Fostoria, a resident
of Good Shepherd Nursing Home, died 8:46 p.m. Friday, April
12, 2002, at the nursing home.
She was born April 23, 1904 in Porter to Bruce and Effie (Swisher)
Lawless. She married Carl J. Omwake on Nov. 19, 1928 in Albion,
Ind. He died April 15, 1988.
Survivors include: three daughters, Wanda Siebenaller and
Barbara McDonald, both of Fostoria, and Patricia Teffer of
Toledo; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Private services were held. Burial was at Fountain Cemetery
in Fostoria.

She was born Nov. 18, 1903, in Hancock County to Curtis and
Sophia (Borer) Fox. She married Alfred L. Miller on July 7,
1926, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and he died
on March 3, 1980.
Surviving is a sister, Helen Scharf, Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald A.; two daughters,
Mary Ann and Joyce Ann Miller; and three sisters, Marcella
Burns, Ruth Conine and Rosetta Bohn.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
Monday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial will be in
the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hoening
Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a rosary will be recited at
8:30 p.m. A rosary also will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday
at the church.

Lena Manecke, 93, a resident of Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria,
died at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday,
May 21, 2002, at the nursing home.
She was born Dec. 3, 1908, in West Millgrove to Ralph L. and
Nora (Estep) Kelly. She married William A. Manecke on Sept.
21, 1934, in Fostoria, and he died July 16, 1983.
Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Raymond (Patricia) Myers, Bloomdale;
and Bonnie Blue, Wayne.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert W. Kelly.
Mrs. Manecke was an elementary school teacher in Risingsun,
Wayne and Bloomdale for several years.
She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Fostoria;
Fostoria Women's Club; Wood County and Ohio Retired Teacher's
associations; and Wood County Farm Bureau. She was a former
trustee of Wayne Library Board.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mann-Hare
Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery,
West Millgrove.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral

A memorial service for Duane G. Norris, 69, of Lompoc, Calif.,
will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Church of
Christ, Fostoria, the Revs. John J. Rainey and Steven Umphress

Mr. Norris died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at his residence.
He was born May 8, 1932, in Fostoria to Ivron and Alice (Burman)
Norris. He married Ruth Cooper in August 1955, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Samuel of Lompoc, Calif.; two daughters,
Dana Jeanne Norris, Lompoc, Calif.; Carolyn Callihan, Sacramento,
Calif.; two brothers, Henry of Fostoria; Ivron Jr. of Tiffin;
and a sister, Florence Norris, Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond.
Mr. Norris retired in 1990 as a planner for Martin Marietta
Co. after 30 years. He was involved in the Titan Missile program.
He was a 1950 graduate of Hopewell Loudon High School, and
a graduate of Parks College of
Aeronautics at St. Louis University, St. Louis, Mo.
He and his wife volunteered at Yellow Stone National Park
for 10 years.

Amber died at 10:52 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2002, at
St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. She had been crossing
Sixth Street on a scooter when she was struck by a motorist.
She was born Oct. 29, 1991, in Bowling Green to
Jon A. and Brenda A. (Cotterman) Miller. They survive in Findlay.
Also surviving are a brother, Chris L. Phillips,
at home; three sisters, Jessica A., Tamara M. and Renee M.
Miller, all at home; paternal grandparents Roger D. and Rayena
J. Miller, Risingsun; paternal great-grandfather Raymond O'Dell,

Amber was a fourth grade student at Chamberlin Hill
Intermediate School.
She had been a member of Young Miss Softball since
1999; Just Say No club at school; and attended Trinity Baptist
Church.

M. Esther Miller, 86, of 1000 Independence
Road, Fostoria, died at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, May 28,
2002, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky, due
to injuries suffered in a car accident on U.S. 23 near Upper
Sandusky.
She was born Aug. 26, 1915, in New Riegel to Charles
H. and Veronica (Welly) Kelbley. She married Orville S.
Miller on Aug. 8, 1933, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church,
Fostoria, and he died Feb. 3, 1972.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Elaine
M.) Hunt, Tiffin; two sons, Donald P. and David A., both
of Fostoria; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a
great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Mildred Hammer, Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille
Knox; and a brother, Truman Kelbley.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and retired from Fusse
Corp., Fostoria.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church
and its Rosary-Altar Society, and Fostoria Woman's Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated

Gregory L. McGee, 45, of 115 Frost Parkway, Tiffin,
died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at the Medical College of
Ohio, Toledo.
He was born Sept. 5, 1957, in Tiffin to Bernard and
Elizabeth (Lyman) McGee. He married Janet (Rice) McGee
Dec. 29, 1987, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving are: his father, Bernard McGee of Jacksonville,
Ohio; his wife, Elizabeth McGee of Tiffin; a son, Trevor
McGee of Bloomville, two daughters, Mianda McGee and Briana
McGee, both of Bloomville; step-children, Devonna Rice
of Tiffin and Mrs. Melissa (Christopher) Ownens of Marion;
a brother, Tony McGee of Tiffin; two half-brothers, Homer
"Sonny" Sours of Kentucky, Andrew Sours of Florida; two
sisters, Roxanna McGee of Fostoria and Donna Hook of Tiffin;
and a half-sister, Agnes Reinhart of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Milfred Eugene
Sours, and a half-sister, Phyllis Sours.
Mr. McGee was currently employed at Tele-communication
in Tiffin and was a graduate of Columbian High School.
He was a a member of the Seneca Muzzleloaders, NRA and
Audubon Society.

Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Hinkle officiating.

BLOOMDALE -- John J. "Joe" Mareches, 48, of
16259 Township Road 267, Bloomdale, died of natural
causes at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at Community
Nursing Home, Bowling Green.
He was born March 30, 1954, in Fostoria to
William John and Opal Maxine (Weiker) Mareches. His
mother survives in Bloomdale. He married Janice L. Nye-Myers
on Sept. 4, 1976, and they were divorced. She survives
in Fostoria.
Also surviving are a daughter, Christina "Chrissy"
Mareches, Bloomdale; a son, John "Joe" of Bloomdale;
and two brothers, William "Bill" Russell and Robert
Charles, both of Bloomdale.
Mr. Mareches was the wastewater and water
superintendent for the Village of Bloomdale for 28 years.
He also was a member of Bloomdale Volunteer Fire Department
and Emergency Medical Technicians for more than 20 years.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church,
Cygnet; and Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 2633,
North Baltimore.

He was born on Feb. 26, 1942, in Richmond, Texas,
to John and Guadalupe (Hernandez) Martinez. He married
Olga Flores on April 28, 1958, in Wauseon. They are

She was born Nov. 18, 1919, near Kansas
to Reed and Mabel (Feasel) Shaull. She married Charles
M. Murray on March 7, 1944, and he died in 1974.
Surviving are a daughter, Charlotte Graves,
Palm Coast, Fla.; a son, Gene of Fostoria; five grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Shaull,
Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by a daughter,
Marsha McVicker; and a grandchild.
Mrs. Murray was a retired nurse's aid and
an artist, having exhibited her paintings and won
awards in juried art competitions.
She was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World
War II, serving as a corporal in the Women Reserves.
She attended High Street United Methodist
Church, Fostoria.

E. Burnap on Oct. 19, 1929, and she died Feb.
15, 1994.

Mr. Mains retired from Marathon Oil Co.
in 1971 after 44 years as manager of the stock transfer
department.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church;
Ohio Priory 18 Knights of the York Cross Honour; Ancient
Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo; and Zenobia
Shrine Temple, Toledo. He was a 50-year member
of Masonic Lodge 227, where he was past Master; RAM
Chapter 58, where he was past High Priest; and Council
50, where he was past Illustrious Master; and a 47-year
member and past Commander of Commandery 49.
Mr. Mains was inducted into Hancock Sports
Hall of Fame in 1991 for pitching fast-pitch softball.
He played almost 400 games on several teams,
including Ohio Oil, Findlay Merchants and First Lutheran.
He pitched two perfect games and 17 no-hitters.

Herbert E. Moyer on July 14, 1957, and he died April

Snow, both of Fostoria; Mrs. David (Connie S.) Ratliff,

Tenn.; and two sisters, Helen Stephens, Manchester,

She was preceded in death by a grandchild;

Mrs. Moyer formerly operated Ace Painting
and Glass, in Fostoria, with her husband. She also
was a homemaker and worked at the former Preis
Store, Fostoria.

attended Fostoria Assembly of God. She was a former
member of Moose and Eagles, Fostoria.

Luther Miller, 78, of 201 South Main St., Attica, died
Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Willard to the late
Luther P. and Rose (Utz) Miller. He married Joanne
(Shank) Miller. She survives in Attica.
Other survivors include: a son, Richard A. Miller
of Fostoria; two daughters, Carol (Gene) Frankart
of Attica and Lois (Tim) Walsh of Lakewood; and three
grandchildren, Amanda Frankart of Attica, and Hannah
and Andrew Walsh of Lakewood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother
and two sisters.
Mr. Miller retired from Pioneer Rubber Co. in Attica
where he worked as a stationary fireman. He was a
member of the Attica United Methodist Church.

She was born March 11, 1916, in Wellston to the
late William and Katie (Churtz) Ponn. She married
Carl. L. Overmire Oct. 24, 1935, in Kentucky. He died
Oct. 5, 1998.
Surviving are: a son, Ronald David Overmire of
San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Kathy J. Burnett
and Lori Ann Overmire of Fostoria and Connie Sue Taylor
of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the
First Church of the Nazarene in Fostoria. Burial will
be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Mr. Marsenburg died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002,
in Fostoria.
He was born in Little Rock, Ark., to Eldredge
and Jonnie Marsenburg. His wife, Anna Augustine Marsenburg,
survives in Findlay.
Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth Jr.
of Springfield; Keith of Toledo; a daughter, the Rev.
Mrs. Dale (Sandra) Brown, Lake City, Fla.; two stepsons,
Rickie Long, Findlay; Lennard McMillan, Albuquerque,

18 grandchildren seven great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Celestial West, Little Rock, Ark.; Muriel Tate, Chicago;
a brother, Shirley of Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by a son, Alvin;
and a brother, Lee.
Rev. Marsenburg retired in December 1999
as pastor of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church,
Lima. He also served as pastor of Inspirational Missionary
Baptist Church and interim pastor of Bethlehem Baptist
Church, both in Toledo; associate minister of St.
John Missionary Baptist Church, Springfield; and was
pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Fostoria, for 22
years.
He was crowned as a deacon at Greater St.
Mary's Baptist Church in October 1948, and in 1958
was ordained to the ministry.
From 1977-1980, he was recording secretary
of Ohio Baptist General Convention, and from 1978-1981
was moderator of the Western Union District Association
of Ohio Baptist General Convention. He was past chairman
of Fostoria Civil Service Commission and past president
of the Fostoria Chapter of NAACP.
He was a U.S. Army of World War II. He received
four Bronze Stars.

to Edward G. and Emily Jane (Reinhart) Hammer. She
married Leo Charles McGrain on April 14, 1951,
at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and he
died in May 1987.

Bill of Valley City; Tom of Bloomdale; nine grandchildren;
a great-grandchild; two brothers, Benedict L.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary

Mrs. McGrain retired in February 1985 from
Allied-Signal, Fostoria, now Honeywell, after 33 years.
She was a 1948 graduate of St. Wendelin
High School.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic
Church, North Baltimore, and Bloomdale Seniors Group.
She volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul, North Baltimore.

Robert S. Noel Sr., 65, of 411 Crystal Ave.,
died at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at his
residence.
He was born April 5, 1937, in Fostoria to
Walter D. and Helen (Abbott) Noel. His mother survives
in Arcadia. He married Phyllis (Durain) Kessler
in 1959, and they divorced. She survives in Findlay.
He later married Judy Ickes on March 18, 1973,
in Arcadia, and she survives.
Also surviving are six sons, Robert S. Jr.
of Findlay; Dusten, at home; Jeff of Dunkirk; Scott
D. of McComb; Michael VanHoose, Fostoria; and
Robert E. Rumschlag, Clyde; a daughter, Jody L. Noel,
Findlay; two stepdaughters, Judy Bowers and Wilma
Guzeman, both of Fostoria; 25 grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mildred "Millie"
Fuss, Atlanta, Ga.; Barbara Greer, Lugoff, S.C.,
and Cinda Baird, Arcadia.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter
and grandchild.
Mr. Noel was retired. He was an office manager
for several Findlay area companies, most recently
Flag City Brokers, and was manager of the Arcadia
grain elevator from 1958-83. He also served on Arcadia
Village Council for 13 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the
Army Signal Corps.
He was a member of DAV, Korean War Veterans
and Blinded Veterans Association.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.
Friday at Routson Funeral Chapel, the Rev. David Bliss
officiating. Military rites will be conducted
by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad after the
service.

Mr. Orians died at 12:01 a.m. Thursday,
Aug. 22, 2002, at Winebrenner Village, Findlay.
He was born May 21, 1929, in Carey to Vincent
and Alma (Brodman) Orians.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Charles
(Ardyth) Franklin, Findlay; Mrs. Milt (Marilyn) Hohler,
Norwalk; Evelyn Bayer, Perrysburg; and Rosemary
Lones, Toledo; and two brothers, Basil of Scottsdale,
Ariz.; and Donald of Augusta, Ga.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis;
and a sister, Charlene Orians.
Mr. Orians retired as owner/operator of
Black Cat Restaurant, Fostoria.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean
War.
He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic
Church, Knights of Columbus, Moose, Eagles, DAV, Elks,
VFW, AMVETS, American Legion and United Sportsman's
Club, all in Fostoria.
Mr. Orians was a 1947 graduate of Salem
High School.

Stephen C. Munger, 52, of 917 S. Main St., Fostoria,
died at 10:10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, in Perrysburg
at Hospice of NW Ohio.
He was born Aug. 25, 1949, in Fostoria to Donald
R. and Jane E. (Reilly) Munger.
Surviving are: his mother, Jane E. Munger of Fostoria;
a sister, Nancy E. Malone of Toledo; two nephews,
Ryan P. and Scott A. Malone of Toledo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald
R. Munger.
Mr. Munger worked at Seneca Re-Ad Industries, Fostoria
Division. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic
Church in Fostoria; a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus
Council 1197 in Fostoria and a 1967 graduate of St.
Wendelin High School. He was an avid sports fan, especially
the Cleveland Indians and Browns.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday
at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. The Rosary
will be prayed at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the
Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Estella K. May-Berry, 75, of Fostoria and Toledo,
died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, in Charles
Hospital in Oregon.
She was born June 28, 1927, in Collingwood, Tenn.,
to Elmer and Edna J. (Nelson) Keaton. Both are deceased.
She married Hershel Berry. They divorced and he
survives in Florida.
She then married Ernest May. They divorced and
he survives in Sardinia.
Other survivors include: seven sons, Kenneth R.
Berry of Toledo, Benny P. Berry of Owensboro, Ky.,
Bill G. Berry of Owensboro, Ky., Jerry H. Berry of
Northwood, Byron Berry of Toledo, Myron Berry of Cincinnati
and Ricky R. Berry of
Toledo; two daughters, Reba M. Watson of Toledo and
Martha L. Locke of Oregon; 30 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren;
three brothers, Clifford Keaton of Texas, Alfred Keaton
of Florida and Arthur Keaton of Indiana; and a sister, Mary
Jo Jones of Texas.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hoening
Funeral Home in Fostoria.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral
home. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

CYRIL J.
Cyril J. "Sonny" Metzger, 78, of 8100 W. Big Spring
TR 56, New Riegel, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002,
in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Shelby to Frank and
Olivia (Schlachter) Metzger and they are deceased.
He married Irene S. Morse July 22, 1944, in St. Michael
Catholic Church, Findlay and she survives. They had
been married for 58 years.
Other survivors include: two sons, John A. and
Nancie Metzger, and Larry J. and Patricia Metzger
all of Carey; two daughters, Sandy Zoeller, and Mrs.
Steve (Sharon) Kimmet all of New Riegel; 15 grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren' two brothers, Mark Metzger
of Frenchtown, and John "Jack" Metzger of Toledo;
seven sisters, Mrs. Lucy Flechtner of Tiffin, Marsha
Gerber of Fremont, Gertrude "Gertie" Hess of Tiffin,
Mrs. Raymond (Theresa) Schindler of Harrison, Mrs.
Paul (Rita) DeRose of Tiffin, Mrs. Joseph (Nan) Hohman
of Vermilion and Mrs. John (Donna) Durbin of Sandusky.
Preceding him in death included: a son, James F.
Metzger; a son-in-law, John C. Zoeller; a brother,
Francis "Fritz" Metzger; and a sister, Betty.
At a young age he took over the home farm and continued
to farm throughout his lifetime; retired in 1976 from
Bendix Auto-Lite in Fostoria after 30 years of employment;
a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown,
Fostoria United Sportsman Club, New Riegel Moose Post
872, Fostoria Knights of Columbus, and UAW Local 533.
He enjoyed hunting, butchering and making wine.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30,
2002, in St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev.
Conrad Sutter officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas
Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the
Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, and 10-11 a.m. Monday
at the church. A Christian wake service will be at
7:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Thomas G. Martin, 58, of Perrysburg Road, Fostoria,
died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002.
He was born Jan. 17, 1944, in Fostoria to Fredrick
and Oletha (Corner) Martin who are deceased.
Survivors include: a son, Jason of Fostoria; a
daughter, Brooke Martin of Torrance, Calif.; two grandchildren;
four sisters, Janet Nolan of Wayne, Judy Pessell of
Arcadia, Kathy Cooper of Findlay, and Jenny Roehl
of Toledo.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday
at Knollcrest Gardens Cemetery near Arcadia.

Newman K. Neal, 72, of 602 Westhaven Drive, and
the past three and one half years at St. Catherine's
Care Center, Fostoria, died at 9:54a.m. Thursday,
Oct. 10, 2002, in St. Lukes Hospital, Maumee.
He was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Clay County, W.Va.,
to the late Clark E. and Jessie L. (Adkins) Neal.
On Oct. 17, 1950, in Wellston, Ohio, he married
Marilyn L. Collins. She survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: three sons, Clark F.
Neal of Monroe, Mich., Larry S. Neal of Wyoming,
Mich. and Duane K. Neal of St. Mary's Pa.; 10 grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren; and four sisters,
Mavis Adkins of Circleville, Ohio, Bernice
Burkhamer of West Virginia, Opal Daft of Ashville,
Ohio and Phyllis Phillips of Wellston, Ohio.
A sister, Agnes Keller preceded him in death.
Mr. Neal retired after 12 years as a local locksmith
and retired in 1980 after 18 years from the Chrysler
Foundry, Fostoria and the Nickle Plate Railroad
where he worked 1950-1959. He was a U.S. Army
Air Corp veteran serving in World War II. He
was a 3rd degree member of the Knight of Columbus
Council 1197 and 4th degree member of Father Kirsch
Assembly 845, Knights of Columbus, Fostoria.
A public graveside service will be at 1 p.m.
Monday in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, where burial
will take place. Pastor David Chapman will officiate.
There will be private family visitation.

Charles D. Miller, 60, of Segur St., Toledo,
died 8:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at St. Vincent's
Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.
He was born Aug. 14, 1942, in North Baltimore,
to Charles E. and Ida M. (Steele) Miller. On March
18, 1962, he married Janet L. (Doll) Miller, in
Fostoria. She survives in Toledo.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Diana Miller
of Toledo; a brother, Robert Wright of Monroe,
Mich., three sisters, Geraldine Harrison of Fostoria,
Velma Green of Albion, Ind., Donna Dockery of
Tenn.; 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday
at Knollcrest Gardens in Arcadia. Burial will
be in Knollcrest Gardens.

Father of Fostorian
David F. "Whitey" Mann, 92, 23 Melissa St., Tiffin,
died at 3 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at his home.
He was born in Tiffin, Feb. 10, 1910, to the
late Clarence C. and Rosanna Blanche (Derr) Mann.
On Feb. 15, 1945, in St. Mary's Parsonage, he married
Helen Letterhos, who survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Richard F. Mann
of Fostoria; two daughters, Karen S. Gill and Joyce
A. Mann, both of Tiffin; three grandchildren, Joshua
D. Mann of Bowling Green, Robbyne F. Gill of Tiffin
and Carrie R. Mann of Columbus.
A son, James K. Mann; and two brothers, Elbert
Mann and Clarence C. Mann Jr., also are deceased.
Mr. Mann, a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist
Church, had worked at Floom-Fleck Wholesale Grocers
and the American Standard. He also was a member
of American Legion Post 354, VFW Post 2858 and Tiffin
Lodge 77 Free and Accepted Masons. He served in
the Army during World War II in Company B with the
148th Infantry. He had resided in the
Tiffin area all his life.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct.
19, in Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with the Rev.
Jarad Williams officiating. Burial will be in St.
Mary's Cemetery, where the United Veterans Council
will conduct military graveside services.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral
home.

She was born Feb. 8, 1922, in Republic
to Milo and Hannah (Shultz) Staley. She married
Eddie L. Myers in January 1940, in Fostoria,
and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, LeRoy of Arcadia,
Fla.; four daughters, Doris Bethel, Janet Mays and
Nancy Crisp, all of Fostoria; Margaret Ann
Miller, Sidney; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren;
and a brother,
Carl Staley, New Haven, Fla.
She was preceded in death by two brothers,
William and Clayton Staley; and a sister, Marilyn
Blechinger.
Mrs. Myers was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Church of the
Nazarene, Fostoria.

Molnar, 94, of Fostoria, have been held at Kansas
Cemetery.
Mrs. Molnar died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002.
She was born Dec. 28, 1907, in Bloomdale
to Thomas and Elizabeth (Kepp) Thompson. She married
Lyle "Joe" McDonald on Dec. 23, 1929, and he died
March 31, 1956. She married John Molnar in
1971, and he died Feb. 9, 1987.
Surviving is a son, Roger McDonald, Fostoria;
a daughter, Marcia Greene, Balston Lake, N.Y.; five
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Robert Marquart, 69, of 22721 Township
Road 214, Fostoria, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 19,
2002, at his residence.
He was born May 15, 1933, in Findlay to
Carl and Lavaun (Abegglen) Marquart. He married Mary
Lou Hill on June 15, 1952, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Steven of Findlay;
a step-grandchild; a brother, Ross of Jenera; and
a sister, Joyce Rogers, Lakewood, Colo.
Mr. Marquart retired in 1995 from Dow Chemical
after 331/2 years. He also farmed for 40 years.
He was a member of West Independence United
Methodist Church, Belgian Draft Horse Association
and New Marion Advisory Council.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday at the church, the Revs. Jeffrey Raker and
Alan Sanford officiating. Burial will be in

Virgil Milum, 66, of 302 Kilbourne St., Sycamore,
died at 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at the Medical
College of Ohio in Toledo.
He was born Aug. 26, 1936, in Belle Vernon to
the late Harry E. and Esther M. (Long) Milum. He
married Dorthea (Curry) Milum April 6, 1957. She
survives in Sycamore.
Also surviving are: two sons, Danny V. Milum
of rural Tiffin and Kevin L. Milum of Upper Sandusky;
two daughters, Karen Swartz of Yellville, Ark.,
and Denise Stock of rural New Riegel; eight grandchildren
and a great-grandchild; two brothers, Harold E.
Milum of Upper Sandusky and Dennis Milum of Fostoria.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at
Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey. Burial will be in

Della M. Drew on April 7, 1951, and she
survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey W.
of Carey; two daughters, Diane Fittro-Zumbrum,
Perrysburg; Linda G. Windau, Fostoria; seven
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Overly retired in 1988 as a tool
grinder at Bendix (now Honeywell) in Fostoria
after 391/2 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a 1945 graduate of Lima South
High School.
He was a member of American Legion Post
73, Eagles Aerie 430, Loyal Order of the Moose
1567 and United Sportsmen , all of Fostoria.
He was a member of Model A Club for more than
40 years.

(Marsh) MacDonald. He married Helen M.
Brown on April 2, 1944, and she survives.

two grandchildren; and a brother, P. Albert
of Fremont.
He was preceded
in death by two brothers, Russell and Ralph;

N. Helen Metzger.
Mr. MacDonald
retired in 1983 from Union Carbide, Fostoria,
after 42 years.
He was a

Fostoria, from 1950 to 1960.
She was a member of Basilica of

She was a 1936 graduate of Carey
High School and attended Baldwin-Wallace College
for one year.
