Brockschmidt, Geraldine M.

Geraldine M. Brockschmidt, 73, of 415 W. Smith St., Gibsonburg, died at 8:40 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, in Fremont Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 10, 1928, in Fostoria to Dexter and Genevieve (Kinn) Babb. On Feb. 5, 1949, she married Bernard W. Brockschmidt in Fostoria.

Survivors include: her husband of Gibsonburg; two sons, Robert B. of Fostoria, and Steven W. of Bowling Green; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven sisters, Laura Rowe, Elma Barchus, Mrs. David (Jean) Weiker, Mrs. Donald (Waunita) Fox and Mrs. Stewart (Janet) King of Fostoria, Wilma Best and Mrs. John (Rose) Michaels of Willard.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with interment in St. Wendelin Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.


Adelsperger, Harold

FOSTORIA -- Harold F. Adelsperger, 78, of 4894 N. County Road 25, Fostoria, died at 6:50 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at his residence.

He was born March 10, 1923, in Tiffin to Burton and Callie (Sellers) Adelsperger. He married Mary "Margaret" Hammer on July 21, 1951, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Gary of Fostoria; two daughters, Patricia Adelsperger, Vermilion; Mrs. Leo (Diana) Meidlinger, Canton; and a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Russel and Wilbur; and two sisters, Edna Sendelbach and Ethel Shultz-Smith.

Mr. Adelsperger retired in 1983 as a truck driver from Matlack Trucking Co. after 43 years. He also was a retired farmer.

He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and Eagles Lodge 430, both in Fostoria, Teamsters Local 20 and the farm bureau.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care Seneca County, St. Wendelin Church and schools or American Cancer Society.


Boff, Faith Ellen

Faith Ellen Boff, 60, of 6456 CR 55, Gibsonburg, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at the James Cancer Center of Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus. She was born in Fostoria Jan. 22, 1941, to Harold and Elnora (Kibler) Needles, both of whom are deceased. She married Edwin R. Boff Oct.11, 1958, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. He survives in Gibsonburg.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Les (Lynn) Mintz of Gibsonburg; a sister, Joyce Drake of Tiffin; and a grandson.

Christian wake services will be at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Wednesday followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home.


Burkett, Pauline M.

Pauline M. Burkett, 80, of 124 Douglas St., died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, in her home.

She was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Tiffin to Peter and Mary (Cooper) Bintz. Her first marriage was to Robert Warrington and he is deceased. She then married Melvin J. Burkett and he died July 9, 1986.

Survivors include: two sons, Randy Warrington of Fort Scott, Kan., and Larry Warrington of London, Ohio; two stepchildren, Dennis Burkett and Martina Burkett, both of Fostoria; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nadine Brookman of Fostoria.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with burial in Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.

David Baker, 60, formerly of 1 Barcelona Drive, Fostoria, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, Jan.27, 2002, at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
 
He was born Oct. 4, 1941, in Fostoria to Jesse and Mae (Ward) Baker.
 
Surviving are two sisters, Dorothy M. Baker and Ethel J. Johnson, both of Fostoria.
 
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse Jr. and Frank.
 
Mr. Baker retired in 1996 from Atlas Inc., Fostoria, after more than 28 years.
 
He was a member of Tri-County Cruisers, Fostoria.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Paul Moore officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
 
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

BROWN, EDITH
 
Edith Brown, 87, formerly of 880 N. Loudon Township Road 47, Fostoria, died at 7:45a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
 
She was born March 21, 1914, in Petoskey, Mich. to Justin F. and Elizabeth S. (Steffel) Meister. She married Clifford Crick, who preceded her in death. She later married Edwin Merritt Brown, and he died June 26, 1998.
 

Surviving are two sons, Albert Brian Brown, Waterville; Bryce Justin Brown, North Lewisburg; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Brenda) Goshe, Fostoria; Mrs. James (Laura Elizabeth) Gorrill Jr., Southfield, Mich.; eight grandchildren; a brother, Edward Meister, Mount Pleasant, Mich.; and a sister, Mrs. William (Alice) Miller, Kalamazoo, Mich.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Brown and Ruth Lustig.

A retired 30-year business woman, Mrs. Brown owned and operated Sundown Motel in Petoskey, Mich. She also had worked for Penn-Dixie Cement Co., Petoskey. She and her husband, Edwin Brown, had been partners in Merchants Credit Bureau, Fostoria.

She was a 1931 graduate of Petoskey High School

Mrs. Brown was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. She was an honorary member and had held many offices in Fostoria Woman's Club. She and her husband, Edwin Brown, were co-founders of Toastmasters, Fostoria.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Mark Bowers officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Parish Cemetery, Petoskey, Mich.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. A rosary also will be recited at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Schools Educational Foundation or Fostoria Woman's Club Scholarship Fund.


BOESEL, LISA MARIE

Lisa Marie Boesel, 27, of 4435 Township Road 45, Fostoria, died of natural causes at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 16, 1975, in Defiance to Curtis E. and Melanie S. (Monteith) Stewart. They survive in Deshler.

Also surviving are a son, Anthony James, at home; a daughter, Marilyn Sue Boesel, at home; three brothers, Kyle C. Stewart, Deshler; Albert Dimond, North Baltimore; Roger Leimgruber, Hoytville; four half brothers; four half sisters; paternal grandmother, Barbara Ellis, Ironton; and her fiancé, Michael Moffett, Fostoria;

Ms. Boesel was a scanner for Caliber Auto Transfer, Fostoria.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, the Rev. Walt Sheppard officiating. Burial will be private.

There will be no visitation.


BERRIER, GARRETT ALLEN

Graveside services for Garrett Allen Berrier will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sandridge Cemetery, Bascom, the Rev. Larry Knigga officiating.

Garrett died one hour after birth Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

Surviving are his parents, Brent A. and Pamela J. (Baker) Berrier, Fostoria; paternal grandparents Jack and Vickie Berrier, Bascom; paternal great-grandmother Joan Shetterly, Tiffin; maternal grandparents Evelyn Jones, Fostoria; and Gary Baker, Bowling Green; and maternal great-grandparents Blanche Burkert, Findlay; and Matt and Joyce Baker, Speedwell, Tenn.


BEASLEY, JOHN

John Beasley, 31, of Portz Avenue, Findlay, died at 2:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at his home. He was born March 9, 1970, in Tiffin to John and Linda (Beaver) Beasley. He married Angel L. Vining July 11, 1998, in West Milgrove, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Logan and Alex Beasley, both of Findlay; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Malinda) Lemley of North Baltimore.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with the Rev. Sterling Beasley officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.


BRICKNER, CELESTIA M.

Celestia M. Brickner, 97, formerly of Fostoria, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home, Tiffin.


ARMON, ARTHUR W.

Arthur W. Armon, 64, of East Center Street, Fostoria, died at 10:59 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at his residence. He was born in Iler Jan. 11, 1938, to the late Pete and Georgia (Shook) Armon. He married Marcella F. Miller Feb. 14, 1957. They were divorced.

Survivors include: two sons, Arthur A. Armon of Fostoria and Phillip Bare of Upper Sandusky; three daughters, Tracey Holbrook of Alvada, Faye Kraylek of Fostoria and Teresa Johnson of Grover Hill; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with the Rev. James T. Mussman officiating. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Iler.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.


BAYES, ELGIN


Elgin Bayes, 79, of 7895 County Road 59, Carey, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at his residence.

He was born May 5, 1922, in Johnson County, Kentucky, to Charley "Charles" and Dixie (Litton) Bayes. He married Mary A. Heilman on March 1, 1947, and they divorced. He then married Sandra (Bauer) Billock on June 29, 1963, and she survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Danny and Roger, both of Carey; David and Christopher, both of Fostoria; and Douglas of Ocoee, Fla.; a daughter, Jennifer Mohr, Carey; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles of Carey; Steven of Orangevale, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Joe (Virginia) Earhart and Mary Dennis, both of Marion; Mrs. Everett (Shirley) Hushour and Trudy Togrul, both of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by three grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Bayes and Irene Shaffer; and two brothers, William and Danny.

Mr. Bayes retired after 14 years at Budd Co. and had worked 27 years at Porcelain Products, both in Carey.

He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a member of American Legion Post 344, VFW Post 3759 and Eagles Aerie Lodge 2198, all in Carey.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, the Rev. Paul W. DeMoss officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, with military rites.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or the Elgin Bayes

BIBLER, GLENN R.

Glenn R. Bibler, 78, of 1801 N. Blanchard St., died at 5:10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Winebrenner Health Care Center's Shaffer Center.

He was born Sept. 12, 1923, in Jackson Township to Clem F. and Nevada (Decker) Bibler. He married Elizabeth Jane Stotler Hempelman on Aug. 31, 1946, and she survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Joe of Fremont; Ted of Fostoria; and Tim and Mark, both of Findlay; a daughter, Barbara Hempelman Fitzgerald, St. Marys; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three foster grandchildren; and a brother, Paul W. of Findlay.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild; and a brother, Don.

Mr. Bibler retired in 1983 as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the third Marine Division in Guadalcanal, Bouganville, Guam and Iwo Jima.

He was a member of Howard United Methodist Church, where he delivered Sunday church service tapes to shut-ins; AMVETS Post 21; Ralph D. Cole Post 3 American Legion; and DAV Buddy Chapter 43, all in Findlay.

He attended Findlay High School.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, the Rev. Deborah K. Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Bishop Cemetery, Eagle Township, with military rites by Hancock Veterans Memorial Squad.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

BENNETT, BETTY L.- Poem by Dale

Betty L. Bennett, 74, of 901 Williston Ave., Fostoria, died at 1:25 a.m. Tuesday March 5, 2002, in the Independence House, Fostoria.

She was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Tiffin, to the late Vinton H. and Leota Mae (Hill) Cooley. Her husband, Dale W. Bennett, whom she married March 2, 1946, in Fostoria, survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Brenda Kay Cole of Fostoria and Mrs. Stephen (Janet Sue) Kuhn of Tiffin; two granddaughters, Christine L.and Robyn D. Cole; a grandson, Ryan B. Reid; three great-grandchildren, Cory J. Gwiner, Katelynd M. Reid and Amanda K. Flaherty; a brother, Jack E. Cooley of Burgoon; and three sisters, Geraldine M. Buckner of Fostoria, Leota "Doll" Agerter and Loretta Fox, both of Tiffin.

Five brothers and three sisters also are deceased.

Mrs. Bennett was employed as a laborer for 34 years at the former Home Window Co. in Fostoria. Also a teacher's aide at Field Elementary School in Fostoria, she was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, VFW Auxiliary 421, American Legion Auxiliary Post 73 and life member of Eagles Auxiliary 430, all of Fostoria.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday March 8, in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Dr. Larry W. Knigga officiating. Interment will be in Knollcrest Gardens, near Arcadia.

Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

BELL, ROBERT EARL

Funeral services for Robert Earl Bell, 91, of Leipsic, were held Saturday at Heitmeyer Funeral
Home, Leipsic, the Rev. George Zornow officiating. Burial was in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.

Mr. Bell died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2002, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

He was born May 21, 1910, in Leipsic to William Alexander and Lillian (King) Bell. He married
Geraldine C. Hartranft on May 22, 1937, and she died April 26, 1992.

Surviving are a son, Roger K. of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Karen) Leinserrer, Syracuse, Ind.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, George of Columbus Grove; a sister, Elanore Radabaugh, Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Cruckshank.

Mr. Bell retired as a manager at Leipsic Community Telephone Co. He also was past chief of Leipsic Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of Leipsic Water Board.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Leipsic.

BAUGHER, ESTHER
Former Fostorian

Graveside services for Esther R. Baugher, 85, of Palmetto, Fla., and formerly of Fostoria, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Wendelin Cemetery, Fostoria.

There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Baugher died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Westminster Asbury Towers, Bradenton, Fla.

She was born Sept. 1, 1916, in Alvada to Thomas and Mary (Krauss) Kinn. She married Eugene Baugher, and they were divorced. He survives in Bradenton, Fla.

Also surviving are two sons, Bruce of Palmetto, Fla.; and James of Tucker, Ga.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Baugher was a homemaker.

Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, handled local arrangements.

BIBBS, OLGA M.

Olga M. Bibbs, 101, of 1039 Cherry St., died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2002, at her residence. She was born in Turin, Ga., April 20, 1900, to Wince and Dolly (Bailey) North. She married Ralph Carmichael in 1920 and he preceded her in death. She married Clifford Bibbs in 1934. He preceded her in death also.

Survivors include: a daughter, Evelyn Browning of Fostoria; a step daughter, Rosetta Williams of Warren; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home.
BRANDT, AGNES M.

Agnes M. Brandt, 76, of W. TR 112, Fostoria, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, at the Toledo Hospital.

She was born May 22, 1925, in Wooster to Hilary H. and Cecilia M. (Gillig) Sheeter; both are deceased. She married Marion C. Brandt June 6, 1953, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, and he died June 6, 1977.

Survivors include: two sons, Joseph A. Brandt and John M. Brandt, both of Fostoria; five grandchildren; three brothers, Robert J. Sheeter of Shreve, Hilary H. Sheeter of Cuyahoga Falls, and Paul R. Sheeter of Handersonville, NC; and a sister, Cordelia Holman of Fostoria. She was preceded in death by a brother, Cletus M. Sheeter.

Mrs. Brandt was a homemaker, and retired from the personnel department of Seneca Wire and Mfg., Fostoria, after 28 years of service. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, and its Rosary-Altar Society. She was a former Parish Council member, a 1943 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Reach for Recovery, and worked with local hospice organizations.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, with the Rev. Art Niewiadomski, officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

BECHTEL, ESTHER L.

ARCADIA -- Funeral services for Esther L. Bechtel, 74, of 302 E. Brown Road, Arcadia, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, the Rev. Richard Billings officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Thursday and an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bechtel died at 4 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2002, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.

She was born March 15, 1928, in Wyandot to Lawrence and Florence (Fenstermaker) Emahiser. She married Samuel C. Bechtel on Aug. 11, 1947, and he died Dec. 27, 2001.

Surviving are three sons, Mark O. of Findlay; Samuel G. of Fostoria; and Thomas A. of Jamestown, Ind.; two daughters, Lisa Bohn and Mrs. Don (Christine) Gonya, both of Arcadia; nine grandchildren; a step-grandchild; two brothers, Donald Emahiser, Delaware, Ohio; and Paul Emahiser, Oregon, Ohio; and four sisters, Dorothy Greer and Claudis Sheffel, both of Findlay; Mrs. William (Maxine)
Hackenberger, Whitehall; and Mrs. Earl (Reva Jean) Phipps, Perrysburg.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Stevens.

Mrs. Bechtel retired as a polisher on the assembly line at Excello-Textron, Fostoria.

She was a 1946 graduate of Findlay High School.

BAUMUNK, DARRELL L.

Darrell L. Baumunk, 47, of 8349 W. SR 12, Fostoria, died at 3:55 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2002, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born Feb. 19, 1955, in Fostoria, to Burgess R. and Miriam E. (Handley) Baumunk. He married Mary J. (Hampton) Baumunk on June 6, 1992, in Findlay. She survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: his parents, Burgess and Miriam Baumunk of Findlay; a son, Christopher L. Baumunk of Fostoria; a step-son, Geoffrey J. Alvin O. Atha, 66, Fostoria, died 9:30 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2002, in St. Catherine Care Center, Fostoria.

He was born June 9, 1935, in Bowling Green, to Chester and Inez (Wickard) Atha, and they are deceased. He married Patricia Ann (Overmier) Smith-Atha on Sept. 21, 1988 in Fostoria. She died Jan. 11, 1996.

Survivors include a half-brother, David A. Atha of Huron.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hoening Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fountain Cemetery.

BENTZ, EVELYN M.

Evelyn M. Bentz, 84, of Columbus Avenue, Fostoria, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2002, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Wyandot County to Ralph and Florence (Beis) Kinney. She married Orville F. Bentz on Sept. 25, 1937, and he died April 23, 1998.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Garry (Carol) Phelps, Fostoria; a grandchild; and a brother, Ralph Kinney Jr., Upper Sandusky.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Kinney.

Mrs. Bentz retired in 1973 as an assembler in the aircraft department at Ford Motor Co., now
Honeywell, Fostoria, after 28 years.

She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Fostoria.

She was a 1936 graduate of McCutchenville High School.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Don Giesmann officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour before services Monday at the funeral home.

BOWMAN, WILLIAM F.

William F. Bowman, 75, of 435 W. Fremont St., Fostoria, died at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Toledo Hospital.

He was born Sept. 7, 1926, in Toledo to George L. and Genevieve M. (Parish) Bowman. His mother survives in Fostoria. He married Dorothy L. Harbaugh on July 30, 1948, and she survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Brenda L. Eklund, Fostoria; four sons, Gary W. of Tiffin; Robert L. of Milan, Mich.; James A. of Fostoria; and William E. of Champlin, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild.

Mr. Bowman retired in 1987 as an international representative for United Auto Workers Region 2B after 36 years, serving Atlas, Ex-Cell-O, Seneca Wire, Fostoria Industries and the former Bendix (now Honeywell). He also had worked at DeVilbiss Co., Toledo.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1945-47.

He was a 1944 graduate of Whitmer High School, Toledo.

He was a member of American Legion Post 73, VFW Post 421 and AMVETS Post 69; a former board member for Fostoria United Way and Fostoria Community Hospital; and founder of the former Labor Management Council, all in Fostoria.

The UAW Fellowship Hall in Fostoria was named William F. Bowman Hall in his honor.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Branson J. Hawkes officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

BRADY, JASON A.

A memorial service for Jason A. Brady, 29, of Darmstadt, Germany, and formerly of Fostoria,
will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in
Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, with military rites by United Veterans of Fostoria.

Mr. Brady died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, from injuries suffered in a car accident near Darmstadt.

He was born March 20, 1972, in Tiffin to Marilyn (Harmon) Greaney. His mother and stepfather, Stephen Greaney, survive in Fostoria. He married Petra Klump on May 6, 1996, in Fostoria, and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Jovan A. of Germany; a brother, Joshua A. of Findlay; maternal grandmother Carol Harmon, Fostoria; paternal grandmother Bernadine Brady, Fostoria; and step-grandparents Betty and Jim Reinhart, Findlay.

Mr. Brady was a civilian worker at the U.S. Army base in Darmstadt.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1990-99 in Desert Storm, Bosnia and Macedonia. He received an Honorable Medical Discharge and numerous service medals.

He was a 1990 graduate of Fostoria High School, where he was on the cross country team.

He was a member of VFW Post 7880, Hanau, Germany.

Robert D. Barringer, 77, of Fostoria, died at 3 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2002, at his daughter's
residence in Swanton.

He was born April 27, 1925, in Fostoria to Charles Lee and Chloe Blanch (Grant) Barringer. He married Doris Imber on Nov. 9, 1946, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Brian G. and Bruce L., both of Columbus; three daughters, Mrs. James (Sandra) Coe, Swanton; Mrs. Demetros (Judith) Hartley, Fostoria; and Nancy Bateson, Delta; seven grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; and a brother, William F. of Fostoria.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard, Charles and Lester.

Mr. Barringer retired in 1977 as branch manager for City Loan and Savings, Fostoria.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving a Silver Star and a Purple Heart.

He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and the Eagles, both in Fostoria; and Ohio Consumer Loan Association. He was a past member of Fostoria Lions Club.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Brian Haller officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

BULKOWSKI, JAMES

James "Jim" Bulkowski, 82, of 1301 Fairway Drive, Fostoria, died at 1:09 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2002, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born Aug. 7, 1919, in Fostoria to Constant S. and Josephine (Janoski) Bulkowski. He married Betty Ridenour on Jan. 23, 1942, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Gary A. of Fostoria; four brothers, Chester "Chet," Francis "Francie," Lawrence "Joy" and Kenneth "Butch," all of Fostoria; and three sisters, Mrs. Don (Florence "Tootsie") Gillig, Patricia "Pat" Bulkowski and Mrs. Justin (Martha) Emerine, all of Fostoria.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise May and Rita Bulkowski; and five brothers, Constant, Charles, Eugene, Alfred and Louis.

Mr. Bulkowski retired in 1976 as a supervisor at Bendix, Fostoria, after 30 years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

BOFF-SCHUMAKER, PAULINE

Pauline E. Boff-Schumaker, 90, a resident of Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, died at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at the nursing home.

She was born Feb. 12, 1912, in Lima to Nicholas and Eliza (Bricker) Wagner. She married Aloysius J. Boff on Feb. 2, 1932, at Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, and he died March 9, 1972. She later married Walter P. Schumaker on May 3, 1986, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and he survives.

Also surviving are five daughters, Donna Jean Sanders, Shelby; Mrs. Carl (Dorene) Harden, Port Clinton; Mrs. Michael (Geraldine) Borer, Tiffin; Mrs. John (Suellen) Decker, Arcadia; Patricia Miller, Clyde; four sons, Edwin Boff, Gibsonburg; Don Boff, Fostoria; Thomas Boff, Indianapolis, Ind.; John Boff, Weaverville, N.C.; three stepsons, Vern Schumaker, California; Norman and Gary Schumaker, both of Fostoria; 22 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by six brothers; and a stepson, Gene Schumaker.

Mrs. Boff-Schumaker was a homemaker and co-owned Boff Bakery, Fostoria.

She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and its Rosary-Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a CLC memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., followed by a Christian wake service at 8:45 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the church.

  She was born Dec. 13, 1910, in Fostoria to Orlando and Bessie (Glasgow) Dillon. She married Royal Irvin Bise April 20, 1930, in Bascom, and he died Aug. 2, 1950.
 
  Surviving are a son, Gary of Columbus; two daughters, Joyce True, Bellfontaine; and Wendy Bise, Spring, Texas; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
 
  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Arthur Dillon; and two sisters, Idella Dillon and Eileen Groves.
 
  Mrs. Bise retired in 1974 as a lab technician at Union Carbide Co., Fostoria.
 
  She was a 1929 graduate of Fostoria High School.
 
  She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria; a charter member of Shepherd Center; leader of XYZ Group for many years; and was a member of Alpha Delta Sunday School class since 1936.

Mary E. Burger, 90, of Marshall, Mich., formerly of St. Petersburg Beach, Fla. and Tiffin, died Saturday, June 8, 2002.

She was born Jan. 23, 1912, in Coldwater, Ohio to Charles D. and Victoria (Laux) Ridenour. She married Charles Denton Burger on June 23, 1934. He died in 1972.

Surviving are: a son, John A. Burger of Kissimmee, Fla.; a daughter, Judith A. McCarley-Ort of Battle Creek, Mich.; a brother, John Ridenour of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Helen Patrick of Fostoria; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A Memorial will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Albion, Mi.

There will be no visitation.

Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin.

Evelene Brown, 73, of Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin, died 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Autumnwood Care Center.
 
She was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Whitesburg, Ky. to Robert and Angeline (Adams) Brown.
 
Surviving are: a son, Charles L. Stamper and a daughter, Mildred Ritchie, both of Bloomville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; Six brothers, Vernon Brown of Bellevue, Bill Brown of Mich., Marcus Brown of Fostoria, Don Brown of Tiffin, Robert J. Brown and Doug Brown, both of Mich.; two sisters, Loretta Combs of Tiffin and Pauline Caudill of Taylor, Mich.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and two sisters.
 
Mrs. Brown was a Bloomville resident for 51 years and retired from Tiffin Glass House, after 28 years of service. She was a member of Pillar of Faith Church.
 
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin, with the Rev. Virgil Cole officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mary A. Bugner, 91, of 751 Columbus Ave., Fostoria, died at 7:35 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2002, in Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
 
She was born May 10, 1911, in Fostoria to Peter and Catherine (Hilger) Thill. She married Frank M. Bugner Nov. 11, 1941, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church; and he survives.
 
Other survivors include: a son, Edward (Diane) Bugner of Medina; a daughter, Catherine (Donald) Noga of Middleburg Hts., Ohio; and six grandchildren, Andrew, Christine and Steven Noga,, and Mark, Paul and John Bugner.
 
Preceding her in death were: her parents; two brothers, Joseph Thiel and Victor Thill; and a sister, Clara Thill.
 
She was co-owner of Bugner's Grocery, Fostoria, for 23 years (1947-1969).
 
Memberships included: St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and its Rosary-Altar Society; charter member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Fostoria; New Riegel Women of the Moose; Catholic Knights of Ohio branch 52, New Riegel; St. Wendelin 55 Plus Club; and was a 1929 graduate of St. Wendelin High School.
 
Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m., Tuesday morning in the St. Wendelin Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.

George W. Bingle, 75, formerly of Risingsun, Fostoria and Sarasota, Fla., died 2:34 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2002, at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, where he was a resident.
 
He was born March 15, 1927, in Risingsun, to Joseph Henry and Miriam Enid (Mitchell) Bingle. He married Margaret (Drobny) Bingle in 1949. They are divorced. He then married Audrey Hoy-Fisk in 1969. She died in 1999.
 
Survivors include: four sons, John A. Bingle, CW-4 of Fort Hood, Texas, Paul D. Bingle of Columbus, Fred G. Bingle of Fremont and Robert E. Bingle of Bluffton; two daughters, Marilyn M. Schnee of Lancaster, Pa., and Cynthia A. Might of Fostoria; a stepson, Russell Fisk of Bradenton, Fla; two step-daughters, Lynda Mayor-Roach of Snellville, Ga., and Marilyn
Fingerle of Mt. Holly, N.C.; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, John and Fred Bingle, both of
Risingsun.
 
Mr. Bingle was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was active in the Army Reserves for more than 30 years, and was an officer in the Civil Air Patrol.
 
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Scott Trinity United Methodist Church in Risingsun, where the United Veterans of Fostoria will conduct military rites at the church. Burial will be in Scott Trinity Cemetery.

  Mr. Brubaker died Saturday, July 13, 2002, at his residence.
 
  He was born May 9, 1926, in Tiffin to Oscar and Dora (Bunn) Brubaker. He married Hilda Karbler on Sept. 24, 1975, in Findlay, and she survives.
 
  Also surviving are two sons, Arthur of Fostoria; and Gary of Willard; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Cheryl) Laser, Findlay; a stepson, Michael Taggart, Reno, Nev.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jack (Ida) Downing, Greensprings; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Harris, Fostoria.
 
  He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Harris.
 
  Mr. Brubaker retired in 1988 as an inspector from Airfoil Textron, Fostoria, after 23 years.
 
  He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria.

BENSCHOTER, EARL L.
 
Earl R. "Schoter" Benschoter, 76, of Wayne, Ohio, died Thursday morning, Sept. 19, 2002 in his home. He was born May 25, 1926 in Cygnet to Victor D. and Leona F. (Kieffer) Benschoter, both deceased.  On Oct. 11, 1946 in Galatea, Ohio, he married Pauline N. Standering, and she survives.
 
Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Linda S.) Barbour of Bowling Green, and Mrs. Byron (Brenda L.) McNutt of Eagle River, Wisc.; a brother, Vernon Benschoter of Wayne; two sisters, Lenora Dieter of Waterville, and Mary Morlock of Custar, Ohio; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
 
Mr. Benschoter was retired after 30+ years from Flechner's Meats in Fostoria, where he was a truck driver, salesman and meat cutter. He also was currently working for Smith Family Frosted Foods in Tiffin, as a delivery man. A Class of 1944 graduate of Portage Township High School. A U.S. Army Veteran serving in WW II. Affiliated with Mt. Zion United Brethren Church in Wayne. And member Albert Bowe American Legion Post #338, Bradner, Ohio.
 
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002 at the Barndt Funeral Home, 121 West South St., Wayne, Ohio, with The Rev. Lee Hiney officiating. Burial at Graham Cemetery.

Candace L. Arnold, 51 of East Tiffin Street, Fostoria, died at 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at her home.
 
She was born May 9, 1951, in Kenton, to John and Mary (Firestone) Johnston. On June 5, 1969, she married Brian E. Arnold in Kenton.  He survives in Fostoria.
 
Other survivors include: three sons, Timothy Arnold of Fostoria, Shawn Arnold of North Baltimore and Chad Arnold of Findlay; a sister, Virginia Oldham of Kenton.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sharon Scott.
 
Mrs. Arnold was a 1969 graduate of Kenton High School in Kenton. She was a member of the Union United Church of Christ in Bascom, Loudon Grange and participant of the"Relay for Life."

He was born Dec. 12, 1914, in Findlay, to Stanley L. and Florence M. (Kring) Burson.
 
Surviving are: a son, Dwayne Burson of Norwalk; a daughter, Joanne Toydmier of Glendale, Ariz.; a step-son, Jim Shriver of Bettsville; a step-daughter, Janet Fernbaugh of Fostoria; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nina Skeen of Bradenton, Fla.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Florence Burson.
 
Mr. Burson was a graduate of Findlay High School and worked as a car salesman. He was a member of Living Word
Fellowship in Tiffin.

  FOSTORIA -- Genevieve M. "Jean" Bowman, 95, formerly of Toledo, died at 2:44 a.m. Tuesday, Oct.  8, 2002, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
 
  She was born June 7, 1907, in Toledo to Ralph and Minnie (Slund) Parish. She married George L.  Bowman on April 16, 1925, and he died Jan. 9, 1995.
 
  Surviving are five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
 
  She was preceded in death by a son, William F.; a great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Chester Parish.
 
  Mrs. Bowman was a sales clerk at Grant and Lion department stores in Toledo. She also worked several  years at the former Lakeside Bisquit Co., Toledo.
 
  She was a member of Blue Star Mothers, Toledo.
 
  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev.  Branson J. Hawkes officiating.
 
  Public committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Toledo Memorial Park, with burial to follow.
 
  Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until services Thursday at the funeral home.

BERGER. DEBORAH A.
 
  FOSTORIA -- A memorial service for Deborah A. Berger, 47, of 604 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, will be  held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith Tabernacle Church, Fostoria, the Rev. Donald R. Goodwin officiating.
 
  There will be no visitation.
 
  Mrs. Berger died of natural causes at 8:32 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at St. Catherine's Care Center,  Fostoria.
 
  She was born July 4, 1955, in Boston to Randall B. and Barbara E. (Stokinger) Tatro. Her mother  survives in Mattapoisett, Mass. She married Wayne N. Berger on April 20, 1988, in Fostoria, and he  survives.
 
  Also surviving are two sons, Sean Hutchins, Van Buren; and Eric Hutchins, Fostoria; and a grandchild.
 
  Mrs. Berger was a licensed practical nurse, working at St. Catherine's Care Center and for Private Home  Health Care, Fostoria.
 
  She was a Cub Scout den mother.

BROWNING, JAMES C.
 
  FOSTORIA -- James C. "J.C." Browning, 73, of 568 Lynn St., Fostoria, died at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday,  Oct. 23, 2002, at Fostoria Community Hospital.
 
  He was born Dec. 16, 1928, in Spartanburg County, S.C., to James W. and Annie Mae (Choice)  Browning. He married JoAnn Evers on Oct. 21, 1955, in Fostoria, and she died June 27, 2000.
 
  Surviving are a son, Tracy C. of Fostoria; two daughters, Roxann S. Browing and Mrs. Ernest (Gail)  Tucker, both of Fostoria; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Lorine Gaffney, Augusta,  Ga.
 
  He was preceded in death by a son, Watson J.; and a brother, Emerson James.
 
  Mr. Browning retired in 1988 as a mechanic at Union Carbide, Fostoria, (now National Electric) after 30  years.
 
  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
 
  He was a member of Fair Forest (S.C.) Baptist Church.
 
  He graduated from Lincoln High School, Spartanburg, S.C.
 
  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in  Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, with military rites by United Veterans of Fostoria.

  FOSTORIA -- Virginia R. Burns, 76, a resident of Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin, and formerly of   1220 42nd St., Fostoria, died at 1:55 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center,   Toledo.
 
  She was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Paulding to Frank and Mary (Kadesch) Noneman. She married Leroy  C. Burns on Jan. 24, 1946, and he died Feb. 1, 1995.
 
  Surviving are two sons, Robert F. of Fostoria; and Michael J. of Denver; a daughter, Le Anne M. Burns,  Lynchburg, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Noneman, in California; a  half brother, John Noneman, Dallas; two half sisters, Rosemary Carnahan, Chandler, Ariz.; and Kerilyn  Noneman, Salisbury, N.C.; and a stepmother, Violet Robinson, Chandler, Ariz.
 
  She was preceded in death by a son, G. Lee; a half brother, Robert Noneman; and a half sister, Phyllis  Potts.
 
  Mrs. Burns was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
 
  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Knollcrest  Gardens, east of Findlay.
 
  Visitation will be held from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria., where a  Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday at the  church.

  FOSTORIA -- Funeral services for Mason James Bosse, 3 months, of 729 Buckley St., Fostoria, will be   held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens,  east of Findlay.
 
  Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
 
  Mason died of natural causes at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2002 at Fostoria Community Hospital.
 
  He was born Aug. 9, 2002 in Fostoria to Nicole M. Hartman and Bryan C. Bosse, both of Fostoria, and  they survive.
 
  Also surviving are a sister, Savannah Bosse, Fostoria; paternal grandparents John and Lisa Bosse and  Steve and Lisa Staples, all of Findlay; maternal grandparents James and Anna Young of Fostoria and  Darryl Hartman in Florida; paternal great-grandparents Jim and Linda Patterson and Harold and Sharon  Bosse, all of Findlay; and maternal great-grandparents Roger and Lois Jarrett of Fostoria.

   Paul E. Butler, 83, of 100 W. Main St., North Baltimore, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 at St.
   Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
 
  He was born Jan. 21, 1919 in McComb to Lewis and Hazel (Keckler) Butler. He married Gwendolyn  Louise Kistler in 1945, and she died March 22, 1988.
 
  Surviving are a son, William of Forest; two daughters, Mrs. Bob (Paula) Allgire, North Baltimore; Mrs.  Jack (Carole) McKitrick, Vanlue; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild;  and three sisters, Mrs. Orlo (Evelyn) McKean, in Florida; Imogene Basinger, Mansfield; Mrs. James  (Patricia) Emerson, Fostoria.
 
  He was preceded in death by a grandchild; two brothers, Alva and Deso "Ping," and a sister, Mary  Jacoby.
 
  Mr. Butler retired from Atlas Crankshaft, where he worked for more than 10 years. He previously  worked for Daybrook for more than 20 years.
 
  He was a member of Bairdstown United Methodist Church and the DAV. He had been a member of the  Civilian Conservation Corps, and served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
 
  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Smith-Crates Funeral Home, North Baltimore, the  Rev. Paul Eichar officiating. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery.
 
  Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

BAKER, DONALD G.
 
Donald G. Baker, 70, of 768 Stinchcomb Dr., Fostoria, died 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at his residence.
 
He was born March 7, 1932, in Fremont, to William R. and Maude E. (Berryman) Baker.
 
Surviving are: four daughters, Mrs. Brian (Sandra) Gabel of Fremont, Mrs. Dennis (Cindy) Reinhard, Mrs. Paul (Linda) Feasel, both of Fostoria, Mrs. Vladimir (Patricia) Trynkin of San Diego, CA; a son, Mike Baker of Dublin; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert E. Baker and Ronald L. Baker, both of Fremont.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Warren Baker.
 
Mr. Baker was retired from the Ohio State Liquor Dept. as an employee; former owner of the Driftwood Lounge; Pro/manager of Lakeland Golf Course, both in Fostoria; former Pro at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fremont; Green Hills Golf Course in Clyde and Willard Golf Club in Willard.
 
He was of the Methodist faith, traveled with his children while involved with golf clinics, and took great pride in their accomplishments in golf tournaments, as they traveled across the United States and Canada. He was honored by The (Toledo) Blade for his efforts in organizing both adult and junior golf outings in Northwestern Ohio.  Mr. Baker was also an avid Buckeye fan and sweepstakes enthusiast.  He was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School and Professional Golfers Association Business School in Clearwater, FL.
 
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Fremont.
 
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

BUCKNER, JAMES

James Edward Buckner, 82, of St. Cloud, Fla., died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2002. Born in Asheville, N.C., he was a barber and a lathe operator for National Machinery. Mr. Buckner was a graduate of the Jr. Home of Tiffin, Class of 1938. He was a Methodist.
 
Mr. Buckner was a member of V.F.W., D.A.V. and a Pearl Harbor survivor.
 
He is survived by his wife, June, of St. Cloud, Fla.; three sons, Ronald of Tiffin, Dennis of Fostoria, and Jeffrey of New York; a daughter, Beverly Buckner of Mazula, Mont.; a step-son, William Williams of Tiffin; two step-daughters, Jackye Clubb of Ashley and Jeanne Williams of Apopka, Fla.; a brother, Richard Klingshirn of Tiffin, eight grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
 
Services will be 1 p.m.Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the Fisk Funeral Home and Crematory, 1107 Massachusetts Ave., St. Cloud, Fla., with the Rev. Richard Humston of the First United Methodist Church of St. Cloud officiating. Burial will be in Mount Peace Cemetery in St. Cloud, FL. 34769.

   Funeral services for Frank Alexander Jr., 77, of 737 Spruce St., Fostoria, will be held at 11 a.m.   Monday at Bethel Baptist Church, Fostoria, the Rev. Marvin Houston officiating. Burial will be in  Sunset Hills Cemetery, Bellevue, Wash.
 
  Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.
 
  Rev. Alexander died at 12:28 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at Fostoria Community Hospital.
 
  He was born Nov. 19, 1925 in New Orleans to Frank and Theresa (Veal) Alexander Sr. He married  Mildred, and she preceded him in death. He married Elizabeth, and she preceded him in death. He  married Ethel M. Williams on May 29, 1999 in Fostoria, and she survives in Fostoria.
 
  Also surviving are 17 children, William Alexander, Glynn Alexander, Gene Alexander, Orlando  Alexander, Leschia Alexander, Bruce Alexander, Mildred Freeman, Sherrie Manson, Terry Mitchell,  Harold Price, Darryl Price, Ronald Price, Frank Price, Sylvester Price, Charles Price, Sheila Rodgers  and Verna Draine; several grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph and Eugene, both of Vallejo, Calif.; and  Earl of Kent, Wash.; and three sisters, Yvonne Butler, New Orleans; Rosemary Alexander, San Diego;  and Mary Louise Ricard, Sacramento, Calif.
 
  Rev. Alexander owned and operated a towing station. He retired in 1975 from the U.S. Navy after 31  years.
 
  He served in the Naval Reserves for several years. He received the Naval Service and Good Conduct   medals.

BROOKMAN, VERA P.
 
   Vera P. "Polly" Brookman, 83, of East Fremont Street, Fostoria, died at 2:27 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29,  2002 at Fostoria Community Hospital.
 
  She was born Aug. 9, 1919 in Denton, Texas to James and Ethel (Springfield) Pye. She married Howard  Brookman on July 2, 1943, and he died Oct. 29, 1979.
 
  Surviving are two daughters, Donna J. Elchert and Mrs. David (Kathy) Pine, both of Fostoria; four   grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Weisinger, Seymore, Texas; Verlin Myers, Lancaster, Calif.; and  Jo Wendell, Temple, Texas.
 
  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Andy and Archie Pye; and two sisters, Katy Smith and  Lorene Smith.
 
  Mrs. Brookman retired in 1984 as a clerk at Superette. She also had been a waitress at Doug's Tavern,  Fostoria Elks Club and Fostoria Country Club.
 
  She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria.
 
  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial  will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.
 
  Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

BASINGER, WAYNE
 
   L. Wayne Basinger, 79, of North Union Street, Fostoria, died at 4:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at   Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.
 
  He was born May 20, 1923, in Pandora to Leslie and Luella (Weber) Basinger. He married Clara E. Iler  on Jan. 12, 1947, in Fostoria, and she died May 2, 1994.
 
  Surviving are two sons, John and Scott, both of Fostoria; a daughter, Bonnie Basinger, Fostoria; eight  grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert in Florida.
 
  He was preceded in death by a son, Tom; and three brothers, Alfred, Bill and Larry.
 
  Mr. Basinger retired in 1987 as a boiler fireman from the former Allied Signal (now Honeywell).
 
  He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 101st Airborne Division.
 
  He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Fostoria.
 
  He was a 1941 graduate of Fostoria High School.
 
  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the  Rev. Don Giesmann officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove, with military rites  by Fostoria Joint Veterans Group.

BURNS, DENNIS W.
Father of Fostorian
 
Dennis W. Burns, 48, of 212 Benner St., Tiffin, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, in the emergency care center of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
 
He was born July 21, 1954, in Akron, to the late Margaret C. Brown. He married Terry Goshe Alleman Oct. 5, 1973, in Tiffin. They divorced. He married Denise McPhail of Tiffin and they divorced. He married Sandy Martin June 23, 1996. They divorced.  She survives in Bryan.
 
Surviving are: two sons, Dennis Burns Jr. and Derek Burns, both of Tiffin; three daughters, Kealy Goodale of Findlay, Kami Garcia of Fostoria and Danielle Burns of Tiffin; three grandchildren; a brother, Harlan Brown of Bryan; a sister, Sarah Donna of Tiffin.
 
Mr. Burns was a U.S. Army veteran, serving 1975-1978.
 
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church.
 
Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with Military Graveside Services conducted by the United Veterans Council.
 
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today and 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

ALDRICH, TOM A.
 
MILLERSVILLE -- Graveside services for Tom A. Aldrich, 65, of Byron, Ga., and formerly of
  Risingsun, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, Millersville.
 
  There will be no visitation.
 
  Mr. Aldrich died at 3:47 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002 at Houston Medical Center, Warner Robins, Ga.
 
  He was born Aug. 31, 1937 in Sandusky County to Raymond and Fern (Lempke) Aldrich. He married  Frances G. (Leapley) Wunderlin, and she survives.
 
  Also surviving are a son, Tommy of Fostoria; three daughters, Kathi Burton, Lima; Cheryl Dorbin,  Fostoria; Vickie Kau, Findlay; a stepson, Jonathan Wunderlin, Salem, Ore.; seven grandchildren; a  brother, Jerry of Risingsun; and two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Mary Ann) Evans and Mrs. Doug (Jane) Smith,  both of Fostoria.
 
  He was preceded in death by a son, Russell; a daughter, Susan Aldrich; and a brother, Dick.
 
  Mr. Aldrich owned and operated A&S Body Shop, Risingsun.

BARRINGER, EVELYN A.
 
  Funeral services for Evelyn A. Barringer, 88, a resident of Independence House, Fostoria, will be  held at 11 a.m. Monday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Jim Michaels
  officiating. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township, Wood County.
 
  Visitation will be held an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
 
  Mrs. Barringer died at 8:10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 at her residence.
 
  She was born Feb. 16, 1914 in Bettsville to Ross W. and Gertrude (Betts) Feasel. She married Dale E.  Barringer on June 29, 1935, and he died Oct. 25, 1982.
 
  Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
 
  She was preceded in death by four sisters, Irene Feasel, Vivian Cronin, Mildred Sotan and Bernice  Ritzman.
 
  Mrs. Barringer retired in 1974 as an inspector at Bendix (now Honeywell) after 28 years.
 
  She graduated from Bettsville High School.
 
  She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Bascom; AARP; Daughters of the American  Revolution; and was a former member of American Legion Post 73 Ladies Auxiliary, Fostoria.

BYRNE, CAROL ANN
 
Carol Ann Byrne, 75, formerly of Fostoria, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, in Columbus.
 
She was born April 27, 1927, in Cincinnati, to the late Leslie and Lucy (Reagan) Binder. She married Michael Byrne. He preceded her in death.
 
Surviving are: four children, Cathy, Betsy, Michael and Carolyn; four grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Walker of Virginia and Nancy Jackson of Michigan.
 
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria, where the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.
 
There will be no visitation.
