Friday, May 5, 2000, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria,
where she was a resident.
She was born in Putnam County, to Anthony
and Mary (Runser) Kost. She first married John Thomasson
in 1922, and they were divorced. Her second husband, Paul
E. Mitchell, whom she married in 1928, in Tiffin, is deceased.
Survivors include: a son, Ralph Mitchell
of Fostoria; a daughter, Donna Jean Below of Bradenton,
Fla.; a sister, Donna Raul of Michigan; 14 grandchildren;
27 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Two sons, George Thomasson and Orland Mitchell,
a brother and three sisters also preceded her in death.
A homemaker, Mrs. Mitchell was a member
of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Findlay.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in
the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment will
be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday at the
funeral home.

Martin W. "Dudley" Nissley, 63, of 334 Elm
St., Fostoria, died at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2000,
in the Hospice of Perrysburg.
He was born Nov. 7, 1936, in Pennsylvania,
to the late Byron P. and Margaret Nissley. On Jan. 6,
1978, in Fostoria, he married Janette Jane (Hoffman) Ray,
who survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: five step-daughters,
Mrs. Robert (Jan) Caunter of Toledo, Mrs. Linda Augsberger
of Pemberville, Mrs. Gary (Cheryl) Adelsperger of Fostoria,
Mrs. Stan (Robyn) Blackburn of Bloomdale and Mrs. James
(Carole) Lanker, also of Fostoria; a step-son, Robert
Ray of Toledo; 11 step-grandchildren; and three sisters,
Barbara N. Elder and Debra L. White, both of Harrisburg,
Pa. and Emma L. Van Auken of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
A sister, also is deceased.
Mr. Nissley, a graduate of John Harris
High School, Harrisburg, currently worked in management
at Exel in Fostoria.
A Korean Conflict veteran, having served
in the Air Force Medical Corp, he was a member of Trinity
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arcadia; the Fostoria Moose,
where he served as past governor and its golf league;
Zembo Temple of Harrisburg, Ancient Accepted Scottish
Rite, Valley of Harrisburg, Robert Burns Lodge 464, and
Free and Accepted Masons the Harrisburg Consistory.
Pastor David A. Bliss will be the officiant
at the 10:30 a.m. Thursday service in Trinity Evangelical
Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria, where military graveside services will be conferred
by the United Veterans of Fostoria.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in
the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria and one hour before
the service at the church on Thursday. Moose memorial
services will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Margaret Julia Nusser, 72, of 707 McManness
Ave., died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at Blanchard
Valley Regional Health Center.
She was born Aug. 9, 1927 in New York, N.Y.
to Floyd and Margaret M. (Spoon) DeVore. She married Keith
W. Nusser on Sept. 7, 1946, and he died Nov. 28, 1997.
Survivors include a son, Keith L. of Findlay;
two daughters, Candyce M. Foreman and Mrs. James (Nancy
L.) Duggan, both of Findlay; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
two brothers, William DeVore, Findlay; Floyd DeVore, Milwaukee,
Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Sanders and Mrs.
Jerry (Catherine) Shaffer, both of Findlay; and Mrs. Tom
(Joan) Smith, Fostoria.
Mrs. Nusser was retired from Findlay City
Schools' food service department.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic
Church, Findlay Senior Citizens, and was active in the YMCA.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, with Deacon Robert
Billmaier officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic
Cemetery.

M. Marie Mullins, 59, of 22 Earl St., Bloomville,
died at 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at her home. She
was born Aug. 25, 1940 to The Rev. William and Bertha (Adams)
Wilcox, both deceased. On Sept. 12, 1959 she married The
Rev. Clarence Mullins, and he survives.
Other survivors include: a son, The Rev.
Clarence "Ed" Mullins of Bellevue; four daughters, Teresa
Marshall of Sandusky, Mrs. Mary Feight of Bucyrus, Mrs.
Elizabeth Morgret of Fostoria, and Melissa Mullins
of Bloomville; three brothers, Charles and James Wilcox,
both of Tiffin, and JR Wilcox of New Albany, Ind.; a sister,
Bea Collins of Miamisburg, Oh.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: three brothers,
The Rev. William Wilcox, T.J. Wilcox, and Arthur Wilcox;
four sisters, Betty Stacy, Kate Wilcox, Blanche Fields,
and Virginia Wilcox.
Mrs. Mullins was a graduate of Whitesburg
Kentucky High School and a homemaker. She traveled and sang
with a gospel singing group along with her family known
as the "Living Miracles", formerly known as "The Heavenly
Doves". She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church
of Fostoria, where her husband is the pastor.
The Rev. Brent Layne and The Rev. Arnold
Rife will officiate the 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 24 funeral
service at the Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home. Burial will
be at Seneca Memory Gardens.

Gertrude T. Nedolast, 83, a resident of
the St. Francis Home and formerly of 1312 W. TR 198, died
at 6:07 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2000, in Mercy Hospital
of Tiffin.
She was born July 5, 1916, in New Riegel
to Robert and Cecilia (Kroeckel) LaFountaine. She married
Cornelius J. Nedolast July 3, 1943, at St. Boniface Church
in New Riegel. He died April 24, 1979.
Survivors include: five sons, Kenneth L.
and Larry E. of Tiffin, Stephen C. of Bascom, Daniel A.
and Kevin P. of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Diana
M.) Frankart of Bloomville; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;
and three sisters, Lucinda "Cindy" Coffman of Grand Rapids,
Mich., Mrs. Robert (Marianne) Zoeller of New Riegel, and
Georgetta Hursey of Tiffin.
Preceding her in death were: seven brothers,
Joseph, Ferdinand, Clarence, John, Charles, Peter, and Paul;
and three sisters, Agnes, Isabella, and Rosa.
Mrs. Nedolast was a graduate of New Riegel
High School; a laboratory technician at Midland Wire Co.;
a homemaker; member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Catholic
Ladies Bowling League; she also enjoyed golfing.
The rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m.
Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by the funeral
mass at 10 with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating and burial
in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday
at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home where a wake service
will be at 8:45.

ARCADIA -- John Clark Moyer, 87, of 19522
County Road 216, Arcadia, died at 1:11 p.m. Wednesday, July
5, 2000 at Independence House, Fostoria.
He was born Dec. 26, 1912 in Biglick Township,
Hancock County to Edward and Coral (Sherman) Moyer. He married
Ellen E. Cole on Oct. 3, 1937, and she survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Samuel C.
of Findlay; Thomas C. of Howard, Ohio; Joseph C., Daniel
C. and David C., all of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Michael
(Mary Ann) Morris, Alvada; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark;
and a brother, Lawrence.
Mr. Moyer was a retired employee of the
former LaSalle's Department Store in Findlay. He also was
a farmer and former bus driver for Arcadia schools.
He was a member of West Independence United
Methodist Church, where he was a former lay leader, Sunday
school teacher and Sunday school superintendent.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday at the church, the Rev. Alan Sandford officiating.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, West Independence.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 and 7-9
p.m. today at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, and for an hour

Jack Mullholand, 64, died at 5:24 a.m. Saturday,
July 8, 2000, at his residence on US 23 North, Fostoria.
He was born March 12, 1936, in Fostoria,
to the late Alton H. and Violet M. (Piotter) Mullholand.
His wife, Ruth Ann (Wildman) Mullholand, whom he married
June 1, 1959, in Bairdstown, survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son, Mark J.
Mullholand of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Terry (Alice) Curlis
of Fostoria; three brothers, Donald Mullholand of Kansas
and Lee and Michael Mullholand, both of Fostoria; three
sisters, Francis Daniels and Patricia Day, both of Fostoria,
and Marilyn Stahl of West Millgrove; and a granddaughter.
Also preceding him in death were a son,
Timothy A. Mullholand, and two brothers, Bill and Jerry
Mullholand.
Mr. Mullholand retired in 1990 from Atlas
Crankshaft Corp., Fostoria, after 34 years of employment.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he graduated in
1954 from Jackson Liberty High School, near Risingsun.

Former Carey businessman
William A. "Salty" Morgart, 50, of 420 Town
St., Fostoria, formerly of Carey, died at 4:13 p.m. Friday,
July 7, 2000, in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Ann
Arbor, Mich.
He was born June 14, 1950, in Fostoria,
to the late Jack K. Morgart and Joan D. (Vogel) Tong. His
mother and step-father, Richard E. Tong, survive in Carey.
He first married Susan Powell, and they were divorced. He
later married Heide Roesch and they also were divorced.
Mr. Morgart, a member of the Lutheran Faith,
was a Carey businessman and manager of Billy Bob's Saloon
in Carey.
An avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, he served
in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era and received
two Purple Hearts during his tour.
He also was a member of Earl Green American
Legion Post 344 and Black-Lamberjack VFW Post 3579, both
of Carey.
A 1968 graduate of Carey High School, he
attended Bowling Green State University.
The Rev. Paul DeMoss will conduct the 1
p.m. Wednesday service in the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home,
Carey. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria,
where military graveside rites will be conducted by the
veterans organizations..

Daniel E. Molina Jr., 20, of Helena, died
Saturday, July 15, 2000, in the Medical College of Ohio
Hospital, Toledo, due to injuries received in an auto accident
in Findlay.
He was born June 21, 1980, in Fostoria, to
Daniel Molina and Lusia (Reyes) Green. His father survives
in Findlay and his mother and step-father, Lucy and Terry
Green, survive in Helena.
Other survivors include: his special friend,
Jennifer Houck of Tiffin; two sisters, April and Tiffany
Molina of Helena; two half-brothers, Gary and Cody Green,
both of Helena; two step-brothers, Ronald Green of Indiana
and Chad Green of Fremont; maternal grandmother, Felipa
Palacios of Fremont; and paternal grandfather, Benito Molina
of Findlay.
His maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother,
are deceased.
Mr. Molina, who was active in Victory Christian
Fellowship, was employed as a laborer at Aeroquip Inoac.
He enjoyed playing sports and was presently
serving as a private in the Weapons Co. in the U.S. Marine
Corps Reserves, Perrysburg.
Pastor Scott Robles will conduct the 11 a.m.
Wednesday service in Victory Christian Fellowship. Interment
will be in Four Mile House Cemetery, where his U.S. Marine
Corps Reserve Unit will provide military honors at the graveside.

John
L. Mills, 62 of Defiance, formerly of Fostoria, died at
3:23 p.m. Aug 1 2000 at his residence in Defiance.
He was born Aug. 24,
1937 in Fostoria, to Dale and Ruth (Turner) Mills.
His mother survives in Fostoria. He married
Janet "Becky" Beckman in 1960 and she
survives.
Other survivors include
two sons, Erik, Huron; and Christopher, Berkley, Mich. two
brothers, Terry, Media Pa.; and Fred, Columbus; and one
granddaughter.
Mr. Mills was the vice
president of sales at Dinner Bell Foods. He was a member
of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Elks #147, Rotary,
Tuendawie Lodge, Juvenile Detention Board and Home Health
Board. He was a Hospice volunteer, a past chairman of United
Way, and was an Army veteran with the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
A memorial service will take place 11 a.m.
Friday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Defiance, with
Rev. Todd Anderson officating.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at
the church.

FOSTORIA -- Beatrice M. Miller, 75, of 461
W. Lytle St., Lot 30, Fostoria, died at 1:20 a.m. Monday,
Aug. 14, 2000 at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee.
She was born Jan. 24, 1925 in Fostoria to
John and Gladys (Duffy) Soles. She married Ray Coble, and
he preceded her in death. She later married Maury Shatzer,
and he preceded her in death. She later married Vernon Opp,
and he preceded her in death. She then married Thomas Miller
Jr., and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Diane
L. Miller, Fostoria; Lisa J. Miller, Dallas, Texas; and
Vicki S. Miller, Florida; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
a brother, Gerald Kisabeth of Fostoria; and a sister, Jean
Hollenbaugh, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen
F. Miller; and a grandchild.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and former Mary
Kay representative.
She was a member of Fostoria Elks Lodge
935; and Fostoria Emblem Club, where she held numerous offices.

Vaughn W. Nighswander, 90, of Autumnwood
Care Center, died at 7:31 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at
the Care Center.
He was born in Liberty Township June 14,
1910, to George Orton and Vinnie (Keyes) Nighswander. He
spent his lifetime in Seneca County, but had wintered in
Florida for the last 46 years.
On Dec. 25, 1933, he married Dorothy Russell
in Fostoria. She survives, along with two sons, Allen of
Tiffin and Alton of Fostoria; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren;
and a brother, Stewart of Bettsville.
Preceding him in death were: three brothers
Claude, Gerald and Dale; and a sister, Florence Burson.
He graduated from Bettsville High School;
retired as a farmer and a drainage contractor; was a member
of Fort Seneca Community United Church of Christ, Masonic
Lodge, Farm Bureau and a former member of Ohio Drainage
Contractors.
The Rev. Barry Bordenkircher will officiate
at the 11 a.m. funeral Monday in the Turner-Engle Funeral
Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Union Cemetery.

Florence Bormuth Meek, 89, of E. SR 101, Clyde,
died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, in the Countryside Continuing
Care Center, Fremont.
She was born Feb. 15, 1911, in Fostoria, to
Frank T. and Minnie (Osterwalder) Bormuth. On July 24, 1945,
she married John D. Meek, who died in February 1996.
Survivors include: three nieces, Joyce Puckoruis
of Fostoria, Lori Pollard and Carol Hendler of The Honduras;
a nephew, Larry Lowry of California; and her caregivers,
the Richard J. Kleinoder family.
Three brothers, Harold, the Rev. Carl and
Francis Bormuth; and a sister, Viola M. Lowry, are deceased.
Mrs. Meek, a 1929 Fostoria High School graduate,
was a homemaker.
A 50-year resident of the Clyde area, she
was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Bellevue,
where she taught Sunday School; a member of the York Grange;
active in the Sandusky County and Ohio State garden clubs,
and the Fremont Senior Bowling League; and worked with the
Red Cross for many years.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the
Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, with the Rev. Sandra
Hutchinson officiating. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria..

Geraldine Mae Manecke, 78, of 25 Christopher
Drive, formerly of 1256 Madison Road, Fostoria, died at
12:04 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at St. Catherine's Care
Center. She was born Sept. 23, 1921, to Elias B. and Ella
(Saum) Snyder. On June 24, 1948, she married Harold E. Manecke
in the former Evangelical Reform Church, Fostoria. He survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs.
Linda White of Tiffin; a brother, Lester Snyder of Fostoria;
three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; four step-grandchildren;
and three step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were: a daughter,
Doris A. Rumschlag; four brothers, Homer, Ben, Ralph and
Earl Snyder; six sisters, Minnie Day, Clara Hartley, Edna

of Grace United Church of Christ, Fostoria, where she had

Jewel A. "Jackie" Madson, 73, died at 3:20
p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at her home at 6319 Tahitian
Drive, Bradenton, Fla.
She was born March 7, 1927, in Fostoria,
to Harold W. and Alta M. (Lanier) Copsey. Her husband, E.
William "Bill" Madson Jr., whom she married April 20, 1946,
in the Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria, preceded her in death
April 24, 1987.
Surviving are four daughters, Penny L. Tsantles
of Bradenton, Cynthia L. Kendall of Morgantown, W.Va., Laura
M. Landrum of Los Angeles, Calif. and Cheri J. Ivarsson
of Sarasota, Fla.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Formerly of Fostoria, Mrs. Madson was a
1945 graduate of Fostoria High School. She was a former
member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria.

Daniel W. McGinnis, 73, Bowling Green
died Oct. 1, 2000 at Wood County Hospital.
He was born July 9, 1927 in Tiffin to Herbert
and Helen (Wilson) McGinnis
He married Patricia A. Gary on June 20,
1954 at Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria, and she survives.
Also surviving are one son, Scott McGinnis
Rockville, MD; one daughter, Kathryn A McGinnis, Cary of
Denver, Colo. and one grandchild.
Mr. McGinnis was Director of the Kaubish
Memorial Public Library, He also served in positions at
other area libraries.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a
1945 graduate of Fostoria High School and received his Bachelor
of Arts from Bowling Green State University in1963 and a
Master of Arts from University of Michigan in 1966.
Mr. Mcginnis was a past president and secretary
of the Rotary Club of Fostoria, and a former member of the
WBGU-TV advisory board (PACT)
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at
St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Bowling Green
A reception will follow the service in the
Family LIfe Center. There will be no visitation and
burial will be private.

Henry J. Macias, 76, died Wednesday afternoon,
Oct. 11, 2000, at his home at 10 Barcelona Drive, Fostoria.
He was born July 7, 1924, in Wauseon, to
the late John and Antonia (Munoz) Macias. On April 11, 1946,
in Findlay, he married Audrey Deckard, who survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son, Anthony
"Tony" Macias of Fostoria; two daughters, Mrs. Timothy (Angela)
Weber of Fostoria and Mrs. Mark (Amy) Reinhart of Alvada;
six grandchildren; four brothers, Louis Macias of Mentor,
Richard, Charles and Fred Macias, all of Fostoria; and three
sisters, Deloris Bucher of North Baltimore, Mary Gomez of
Fostoria and Mrs. Gary (Anita) Mueller of Alton, Ill.
A brother, Robert Macias, also preceded
him in death.
Mr. Macias retired in 1980 from Chrysler
Corp, in Fostoria, after 37 years of employment, then worked
for the Good Shepherd Home, also in Fostoria, for 15 years.
A 1943 graduate of Bloomdale High School,
he was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria,
where he served as past parish council and financial committee
member; past chair person for the St. Wendelin Parish Festival
three years and as a festival volunteer.
He was the founder and served as treasurer
of the Fostoria Foundry Credit Union for 29 years; past
president of the Fostoria Recreation Board 10 years; served
as vice president of Fostoria Civil Service Commission;
volunteer at the Good Shepherd Home and was actively involved
in UAW Local 446 Chrysler.
An avid Cleveland Indians fan, Mr. Macias
also served as an election board volunteer, organized and
managed the Foundry Softball Team for many yeas, and worked
as a translator for the Fostoria Police and Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10
a.m. Saturday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where the
rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m.. Burial will be in the
parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday
in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian
wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Kenneth J.
Retired Chrysler electrician
Kenneth J. McFall, 81, 55 Cherry St., died
Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in the University Hospital, Aintree,
Liverpool, England, where he had been a patient since Oct.
2.
He was born Feb. 18, 1919, in the United
Kingdom, to Herbert J. and Marion B. (Lapthorn) McFall.
His wife, Margaret (Berkley) McFall, whom he married June
22, 1946, in Aintree, survives.
Survivors also include: two daughters, Mrs.
Richard (Gail) Nitterhouse of Romeo, Mich., and Mrs. Paul
(Susan) Kummerer Jr. of Raleigh, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
A sister, Margaret E. McFall, also is deceased.
Mr. McFall, a member of the First Lutheran
Church, retired as an electrician from the former Chrysler
Foundry in Fostoria.
A resident of Tiffin for the past 51 years,
he came here from Ormskirk, Lancashire, United Kingdom.
He also was a member of Masonic Lodge 77,
Seneca Chapter 42, Scottish Rite Club; Shrine Club, Tiffin;
Scottish Rite, Toledo; Zenobia Temple, Toledo, American
Legion Post 169, AMVETS 48, Tiffin; Royal British Legion
Crieff, Scotland; and a life member of the Fostoria Elks
Lodge.
A veteran of the British Army, having served
worldwide during World War II, he also served as civil defense
director in Seneca County 1950-65 and as past governor of
Moose Lodge 846, Tiffin.
Services took place earlier in Liverpool,
England, conducted by the Rev. Michael Smout.
Private graveside services are at 10 a.m.
today in Fairmont Cemetery, with the Rev. Margaret M. Marks
officiating.
There will be no visitation. The Turner-Engle
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Garnet W. (Brooks Perrine) Moody, 74, 60
N. SR 101, Lot 4, died at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25,
2000, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, where
she had been a patient for a week.
She was born June 15, 1926, in Athens County,
to Issac and Sarah M. (Sampson) Brooks. Her first husband,
Richard D. Perrine, who she married July 22, 1945, is deceased.
She later married Myrle H. Moody Dec. 6, 1984. He survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Richard
D. Perrine Jr. of Fostoria, Allan W. and Steven C. Perrine,
both of Tiffin; a daughter, Sharon K. Powell of Harrison,
Mich.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Twelve brothers and sisters, also are deceased.
Mrs. Moody, a homemaker and retired apartment
manager, was a member of Fremont Baptist Temple.
A long-time Tiffin resident, she was a graduate
of Hollister High School.
The Rev. Larry Wagner will conduct the 11
a.m. Saturday service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday
at the funeral home.

General Dynamics retiree
Frank Navarro Sr., 70, of 208 Potter St.,
Fostoria, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in the
Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born May 20, 1930, in Fostoria, to
the Rev. Raymond and Sylvia (Compos) Navarro. His wife,
Enedina "Dina" (Torres) Navarro, whom he married Nov. 28,
1949, in Adrian, Mich., survives.
Survivors also include: three sons, Frank
Jr., Richard R. and Michael Navarro, all of Fostoria; a
daughter, Mrs. Ronny (Elizabeth) Ramsey of Fostoria; 28
grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and two sisters,
Mrs. Manuel (Candelaria) Vallejo of Texas and Mrs. Alfredo
(Librada) Amador of Adrian, Mich.
Mr. Navarro, a member of the Fostoria Assembly
of God Church, retired in 1991 from General Dynamics in
Lima. He had previously worked at the Fostoria Founday.
A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict,
he worked for Pinkerton Security at American Standard in
Tiffin, after he retired.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in
the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Pastor Charles
M. Jarvis officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria, where military graveside services will be conducted
by the United Veterans of Fostoria.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral
home.

Rufina "Ruth" Malagon, 93, of 211 E. Culbertson
St., Fostoria, died at 12:57 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000
at her home. She was born July 10, 1907 to Inez and Nicholasa
(Rodriguez) Herrera. On Dec. 30, 1933 she married Savas
Malagon, he died Feb. 5, 1996.
Surviving include: three sons, Esaias, Frank
and Nicholas Malagon, all of Fostoria; four daughters, Juanita
Mora-Martinez of Fostoria, Dorothy Guerra-Clark of Yuma,
AZ., Anita Salazar-Malagon of Yuma, AZ, and Alberta Johnson-Harris
of Fostoria; 32 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren; and
11 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: a daughter,
Angilita Malagon; three grand and 4 great grandchildren;
four sisters, Accencion Campos, Macedonia Vasquez, Thomasa
Tello, and Ambrosia Hurtado; and a brother Gonzalo Herrera.
Mrs. Malagon was a homemaker and member
of the St. Wendelin Catholic Church and enjoyed needlework.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at
1:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Wendelin Church, Fostoria. Burial
will be at St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.

Mikaela LouAnn Naus, seven months old, of
Columbus Ave., Fostoria, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000 at Mott
Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. She was born March
28, 2000 in Fostoria to Steven Naus and Dawn Feasel.
Survivors include: a sister, Alyssa Naus
of home; Maternal grandparents, John and Diane Thom of Tiffin
and Don and Cathy Feasel of Tiffin; Paternal grandparents,
Cyndi Naus of Fostoria and Norman and Kris Naus of Findlay;
Maternal great grandparents, Lois Burgh of Tiffin, and Charles
and Polly Feasel of Tiffin; Paternal great grandparents,

Hillis P. "Mac" McClain, 80, died at 11:15
p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at his home at 710 Glenwood
Ave., Fostoria.
He was born Nov. 11, 1920, in Miletus, W.Va.,
to James B. and Frankie R. (Barnett) McClain. His wife,
Margaret E. (Waugh) McClain, whom he married Feb. 3, 1957,
in Findlay, survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: two daughters,
Mrs. Charles (Sharon) Crider of Albuquerque, N.M. and Mrs.
Richard (Toni) Darr of Fostoria; two grandchildren; a step-grandchild;
and five step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. McClain, a World War II U.S. Army veteran,
had been employed as a testman on the desk at Ohio Bell
for 20 years, retiring in 1974.
He was a member of VFW Post 421, American
Legion Post 73, Amvets Post 69 and Fostoria Lodge 288 Free
and Accepted Masons.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in
the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Jan
Kucera officiating. Interment will be in Knollcrest Cemetery,
near Arcadia, where military graveside rites will be conducted
by the United Veterans of Fostoria..

Harriette Frances "Fran" Martel, 52, of
39 Main St., Tiffin died at 12, noon Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000
in Westville, Ind. She was born Oct. 3, 1948 to Wilbur and
Harriett (Bushong) Magers, Mrs. Magers survives in Tiffin.
Her first marriage was to Richard Rumschlag, he survives
in Fostoria, her second marriage was to Richard Martel,
and he survives.
Other survivors include: a son, David Andrew
Rumschlag of Tiffin; two daughters, Juliette Rose King of
Fla., and Mrs. Amy Conley of Tiffin; three brothers, Wilbur
F. Magers, Jr. Joseph E. Magers, both of Tiffin, and Thomas
H. Magers of Fostoria; eight sisters, Claire Helena Kaiser,
Mrs. Margaret Gorczyca, Mrs. Martha Hade, Mrs. Laura Bogard
and Sarah L. Magers, all of Tiffin, Anna E. Maxson of Carrabelle,
Fla., Mary C. Roelle and Mrs. Jennifer Hetzel, both of Fostoria;
and nine grandchildren.
Shen was preceded in death by: a son, Richard
Allen Rumschlag; and a sister, Christina Marie Magers.
Mrs. Martel was a Hopewell-Loudon High School
graduate, she also attended Tiffin University and Terra
Tech. She worked as a truck driver for Spaders Trucking
Company in Clyde and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
The Rev. Frank Murd will officiate the 9:30
a.m. Monday Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Miss Gladys Mary Martin, 94, formerly of
284 W. 4th St., Fostoria, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday in the
Independence House, Fostoria.
She was born Dec. 1, 1906, in Fostoria,
to Joseph and Helena (Seimet) Martin.
Survivors include four nieces, Loretta Ball
of Herrin, Ill., Dorothy Cole and Helene Bockoff, both of
Sarasota, Fla. and Rosemary Lannen of Port Clinton.
Also deceased are two sisters, Adeline Huth
and Cora Brickner; two brothers, Robert and Homer Martin;
and a niece.
Miss Martin, a 1925 graduate of St. Wendelin
High School, had been employed at the City Loan Co. and
later at the Atlas Corp., both of Fostoria, retiring in
1972.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic
Church, Fostoria, its Rosary Altar Society, and the Fostoria
Historical Society.

Donald R. Mowery, 58, of 333 W. Glenn St.
Lot 74, Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Bettsville, died at 9:50
a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at the home of his brother,
Edward Mowery, 115 Washington St., Bettsville, where he
had been visiting for several hours.
He was born March 24, 1942, in Cromers,
Ohio, to the late Loyal Earl and Hazel (Myers) Mowery.
Survivors include: four children, David
R. Mowery and Mrs. Steve (Julie) Bird, both of Tucson, Mrs.
William (Jill) Near of Buckeye, Ariz., and Paige Kendall
of Pursglove, W.Va.; four grandchildren; a brother, Edward
Mowery of Bettsville; and two sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Glenna)
Goodman of Bettsville and Phyllis Coleman of Fremont.
Three brothers, Robert, Howard and William
Mowery, also are deceased.
Mr. Mowery, who came to Bettsville for a
Christmas visit, retired as an inspector from Allied Signal
of Fostoria.
A 1960 graduate of Bettsville High School,
he had served in the National Guard during peacetime.
