Ruth M. Gwiner, 77, of Columbus
Avenue, Fostoria, died 7:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at
St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
She was born Feb. 29, 1922, in
Covington, Ky., to Sherman and Catherine (Hemminger) Curry.
She married Earl F. Gwiner July 4, 1944, in Fostoria. He died
in October 1969.
Survivors include: three sons,
Richard and Gary of Fostoria and Greg of Lansing, Mich.; a daughter,
Mrs. John (Ginger) Traul of Edina, Minn.; two brothers, Joe
Curry of Erie, Mich., and Ed Curry of Grand Rapids; and nine
grandchildren.
Three sisters and a brother preceded
her in death.
She was a 1940 graduate of Weston
High School; retired in 1989 from Kroger, where she had been
a cashier for more than 30 years; a member of Wesley United
Methodist Church, Fostoria Woman's Club, Fostoria Business and
Professional Woman, Fostoria Chapter 94 Order of the Eastern
Star; volunteer at Fostoria Community Hospital, Meals on Wheels,
Red Cross Bloodmobile and the Soup Kitchen; and was an avid
bowler.
The Rev. Branson J. Hawkes will
officiate at the funeral at 11 a.m. Monday in the Harrold-Floriana
Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will follow in the Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday
at the funeral home.

Cleo J. Fisher, 85, formerly of
461 W. Lytle St., Fostoria, died at 1:48 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9,
2000, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Findlay.
She was born March 23, 1914, in
Waynesfield, Ind., to Arthur B. and Lulu B. (Downs) Earl.
Survivors include: two sons, Ned
Moritz of Phoenix, Ariz., and Peter Fisher of North Baltimore;
four daughters, Joyce Hunter of Gere, S.C., Betty Moritz of
Findlay, Vicki Erman of Fostoria and Sherrie Tanner of Phoenix;
16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a son,
Jack Moritz; four brothers, Dwight, Wallace, Homer and Ernest
Earl; and two sisters, Violet Byers and Sylvia Bondie.
Mrs. Fisher, a homemaker, also
had been employed at Libby Owens Glass in Toledo 1949-59.

p.m. Wednesday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria,

Hubert J. Gosche, 74, of 6278 N.
SR 635, Fostoria, died at 10:44 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000,
in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
He was born in New Riegel, Jan.
19, 1925, to Claude and Eleanor (Wetzel) Gosche. His wife, Bernadine
A. (Steyer) Gosche, whom he married Sept. 7, 1946, in St. Boniface
Church, New Riegel, died April 10, 1995.
Survivors include: four sons, Bernard
N. of Tiffin, Kenneth G. of Loudonville, Paul L., also of Tiffin
and Robert J. of Burgoon; five daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Norma)
Brown, Mrs. Larry (Donna) Elchert and Mrs. Keith (Theresa) Sholl,
all of Tiffin, Mrs. Richard (Marilyn) Peiffer of Fostoria and
Mrs. Roger (Barbara) Wasserman of Burgoon; two brothers, Norbert
Gosche of Tiffin and Cyril Gosche of rural New Riegel; a sister,
Mrs. Bernard (Agnes) Thiel of Marion; 21 grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
A brother, Carl Gosche; and three
grandchildren, also are deceased.
Mr. Gosche, a farmer, also retired
in 1987 as a machine operator, from Ameriwood, where he had
been employed for 17 years.
A New Riegel High School graduate,
he was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Liberty Township;
Just Friends and the New Riegel Moose Lodge.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30
a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, with the Rev.
James Peiffer as celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

at the Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a wake service
will be at 8:30 p.m.

ARCADIA -- Funeral services for
W. Reed Ebersole, 79, of 201 S. Joslin St., Arcadia, will be
held at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Arcadia,
the Rev. David A. Bliss officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest
Cemetery, formerly Memory Gardens, near Arcadia, where military
graveside services will be conducted by the Hancock County Veteran
Memorial Squad.

Mr. Ebersole died at 9:30 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 24, 2000 at Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 18, 1920 in Arcadia
to Virgil R. and Gladys (Leader) Ebersole. He married Wilma
J. Desgrange on Feb. 16, 1946 and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons,
William D. of Arcadia; and Charles E. of Providence, R.I.; a
daughter, Mrs. Norman (Linda L.) Fadley, Arcadia; nine grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two
brothers, Richard W. and Keith; and a sister, Arydth Snyder.
Mr. Ebersole retired after 25 years
of service with Seneca Wire in Fostoria. He was the former owner
of Ebersole Auto Repair in Arcadia and was also a retired auto
mechanic.
He served in the U.S. Army Air
Corps in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was a member
of Trinity Lutheran Church.

County to E. Dale and Vanetta B. (Cross) Hemmerly. She married
Walter M. Getz on March 28, 1939 and he died May 14, 1985.
She is survived by three sons,
Larry D., W. James and Jeff A., all of rural Forest; two daughters,
Marilyn Fewell and Bonnie Breidenbach, both of rural Fostoria;
eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul
N. Hemmerly, Forest; and four sisters, Mrs. William (Effie)
Thiel, Mansfield; Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Cornely, Kenton; Mrs.
John (Arlene) Crooks, London; and Mrs. A.C. (Joanne) Nelson,
Stillwater, Okla.
She was preceded in death by a
sister, Ann Rush.
Mrs. Getz retired as a nursing
assistant for Fairhaven Health Care Community, Upper Sandusky,
after working there for 13 years.
She was a 1937 Forest High School
graduate.

She was born Oct. 17, 1909 in Seneca

Nelson E. Grimes on Jan. 19, 1935 in Decatur, Ind. and he died
April 12, 1985.
She is survived by a son, George
of Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Lenora) Aldrich, Amsden;
and Mrs. Jerry (Ruth) Gooldin, Columbus; six grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roy Kissling, Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by two
brothers, Wilfred and Raymond Kissling.

She was born June 20, 1907 in Portage

Paul J. Frankforther Oct. 3, 1923 in Bowling Green and he died
March 20, 1965.
She is survived by two sons, Richard

Virginia Brueggemeier, Wayne, and Jacqueline Schriener, Huron;
Two sisters, Martha Waite and Donna Jewell, both of Ormond Beach,
Fla.; a brother, Jim McEwen Wayne; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren,
nine step great-grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a
daughter, Marilyn Miller; a brother, Wade McEwen and two sisters,
Thelma Ells and Naomi Haines.
Mrs Frankforther was a homemaker.
She was a member of Mt. Zion United Brethren Church, Wayne ,
and the United Brethren Ladies Aide of the church. Wayne Research

Street, Fostoria, died at 7:32 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, in
the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.
He was born in Fostoria, Nov. 8,
1921, to Dr. Harold and Margaret (Ward) Fruth. His wife, Susan
(Gardner) Fruth, whom he married Aug. 14, 1944, in the Harvard
Chapel, Cambridge, Mass., survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son,
Stephen Fruth of Fostoria; two daughters, Catharine Bourgeois
of Worthington and Mrs. Donald (Susan) Burger of Parker, Colo.;
a sister, Eileen Ward Fruth of Tiffin; five grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fruth, a 1939 graduate of Fostoria
High School, retired in 1996 as co-owner and operator of Cameron,
Fruth and Green Insurance Agency in Fostoria.
A 1943 graduate of Miami University
with a bachelor's degree in business, he was a member of First
Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, where he served as deacon, elder
and Sunday school teacher.
He also served as past master of
Fostoria Lodge 288 Free and Accepted Masons, past high priest
of Garfield Chapter 150 Royal Arch Masons, past illustrious
master of Fostoria Council 90 Royal and Select Masons, past
commander of Fostoria Commandery 62, and member of the Scottish
Rite Valley of Toledo 32 degree Mason, Zenobia Shrine of Toledo,
past president of Fostoria Shrine Club, past treasurer of Fostoria
Temple Co. and "Knights of the York Cross of Honor."
A World War II U.S. Navy veteran,
he also was a member of the Fostoria Kiwanis Club, where he
was past president, honorary life member and 50 year member,
served as past division chairman of the Fostoria United Way
and also was a member of the Fostoria Country Club, VFW and
American Legion, all of Fostoria.
Memorial services will be at 2
p.m. Friday, Feb. 4 in First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev.
Edson Reed officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery,
Fostoria.

of Burnham Drive, Fostoria, died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb.
10 , 2000, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.
He was born Oct. 31, 1919, in Youngstown
to Joseph A. and Virginia (Clouser) Gilhuly. He married Edna
J. Longacre on June 28, 1947, in Fostoria, and she died Dec.
22, 1999.
He is survived by several nieces
and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by
one sister, Mrs. Charles (Noreen) Toy.
Mr. Gilhuly retired in 1973 as
supervisor at the Fostoria Sewage Treatment Plant.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army,
having served during World War II. He was a member of Wesley
United Methodist Church, Fostoria, and the church choir, F&AM
Lodge 288, Fostoria, Fostoria Council No. 90, Garfield Chapter
150, Fostoria Commandery 62, Fostoria Chapter No. 94, Order
of Eastern Star, Fostoria High Twelve, Scottish Rite Valley
of Toledo, Fostoria Historical Society and Fostoria Glass Heritage
Association.

Florence A. Fosty, 91, of 1335
N. Union St., Fostoria, died at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16,
2000, in Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born Aug. 29, 1908, in
Alvada, to Fred and Lavina (Boes) Nye. Her husband, Willis E.
Fosty, whom she married May 14, 1945, in St. Peter's Catholic
Church, Alvada, survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are her mission
son, Father Fabian of Uganda; a sister, Ida Arend of Findlay;
and nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were three
brothers, Charles, Urban and Casper Nye; and two sisters, Susan
and Leona Nye.
A homemaker, Mrs. Fosty was a member
of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and its Rosary Altar
Society.

Dorotha E. (Hufford) Gooding, 86,
57 Hopewell Ave., died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000,
in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born in Seneca County,
Oct. 5, 1913, to William M. and Anna E. (Sours) Biller. On Sept.
3, 1931, she first married Joseph S. Hufford, who preceded her
in death June 3, 1963. She later married Manford H. Gooding,
March 11, 1973. He died Sept. 30, 1995.
Surviving are: five daughters,
Mrs. Eugene (Marilyn) Baughman of rural Nevada, Mrs. Donald
(Betty Jo) Hannum of Bloomville, Mrs. Robert (Judith) Ward-Moran
of Perrysburg, Mrs. Cloyce (Virginia) Gilliland of rural McCutchenville
and Mrs. Fred (Vicki) Altvater of rural Bluffton; a son, Donald
M. Hufford of Sycamore; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren;
a sister, Mrs. Leola Justice of Tiffin; a brother, Richard W.
Biller of Fostoria; and many nieces and nephews.
A son, Fredric Hufford; and a great-granddaughter,
also are deceased.
Mrs. Gooding, a 1931 graduate of
Sycamore High School, worked at the General Electric, J.C. Penneys
and Sears, all of Tiffin.

Center, Upper Sandusky, she enjoyed sewing and working outdoors.

in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Bill

great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild;
a brother, Howard "Bill" Insley, Findlay; and a sister, Bernice

She was preceded in death by a
brother, Walter Insley; and an infant sister.
Mrs. Graham was a homemaker and
a retired school teacher.
She was a 1921 graduate of Arcadia
High School and a 1923 graduate of Bowling Green Normal School,
now Bowling Green State University.
She was a member of Arcadia United
Methodist Church, and a past member of its Golden Rule Sewing
Circle. She was also a member of Arcadia Senior Citizens, the
Laff-A-Lot Club, Arcadia, the Live Wire Sunday School Class
and the Hancock County Farm Bureau.

FREMONT -- Wilfred A. "Red" Frisch,
82, of 618 Lawndale Drive, Fremont, died at 6:16 a.m. Sunday,
March 5, 2000 at Memorial Hospital, Fremont.
He was born Jan. 25, 1918 in New
Riegel to Martin L. and Bridget J. (Reinhart) Frisch. He married
Mary J. Coburn on June 3, 1939 in Tiffin, and she survives.
Also surviving are two brothers,
Carl P. of Kansas, Ohio; Philip J. of Fostoria; two sisters,
Marie H. Gaietto, Tiffin; Millie R. Fosnaugh, Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by four
brothers, Elmer, Alvin, Vincent and Herman Frisch.
Mr. Frisch retired in 1983 from
Whirlpool, Clyde, after 20 years of employment. He had previously
worked as a polisher at Herbrandt, Fremont.
He attended St. Wendelin Schools.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Fremont, and its Holy Name Society.

26, 1917, to Charles and Ella (Leady) Higley. She married Harold
N. Emerine on Oct. 15, 1940, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church
and he survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are: a son, John
H. Emerine of Alvada; three daughters, Mrs. James (Karen) Lutz
of Chatfield, Mrs. Cliff (Rosemary) Gardner of Findlay, Mrs.
Darryl (Veronica) Laughlin of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;
and a brother, Lawrence Higley of Leipsic.
She was predeceased by two brothers,
Orville and William Higley; four sisters, Velma Roof, Ruby Taviano,
Lucille Romer and Hallie Lang.
She was the retired owner and operator
of Mary's Beauty Shop in Fostoria from 1946-1980 and a member
of the St. Wendelin Catholic Church.

Marlene L. Fraley, 56, died at
11:50 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2000, at her home at 637 Lexington
Ave., Fostoria. She was born in Bellevue April 15, 1943, to
the late Albert O. Burrow and Evelyn M. (Frankart) Perse. They
survive in Marblehead. On May 29, 1965, in Trinity Lutheran
Church, Arcadia, she married Fred J. Fraley. He died April 24,
1995.
Other survivors include: three
daughters, Mrs. Lynn (Deborah) Watkins of Rawson, Mrs. Jim (Jennifer)
Sherman and Mrs. Michael (Rebecca) Hopple, both of Fostoria;
a brother, William J. Perse of Fort Wayne, Ind.; four sisters,
Mrs. Gene (Janet) Gottfried of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Charles (Diane)
Brant of Fostoria; Mrs. Richard (Kathy) Gower of Tiffin and
Anne Beasley of Marblehead; her companion, Bill Balmforth of
Fostoria; and 10 grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were
a son, Mark Andrew Fraley; two daughters, Kathy Anne Fraley
and Linda J. Dillon; and her stepfather, Wilbur J. Perse.
Mrs. Fraley, a homemaker, had worked
in Environmental Services the past three years at St. Catherine's
Care Center, Fostoria.
A 1961 graduate of Fostoria High
School, she was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, where she
had served on the Chancel; Ladies of the Moose 1567 and Eagles
Auxiliary 430, all of Fostoria.

FOSTORIA--Tammy Lynn Gump, 36,
of Fostoria, died of natural causes the morning of Wednesday,
March 22, 2000 at Heartland of Browning Nursing Home, Waterville.
She was born Dec. 5, 1963 in Oregon
to Adam G. and Sally L. (Swesey) Ware, and her mother survives
in Fostoria. She married David E. Gump on Feb. 14, 1981 in Bradner,
and he survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are a son, Christopher
L. at home; a brother, Daniel "Danny" Ware, Fostoria; and a
maternal grandmother, Marie Drake, Hernando, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a
brother, Adam K. Ware.
Mrs. Gump was a homemaker.

Mr. Fox died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday,
March 22, 2000 at his home.
He was born Oct. 4, 1944 in Fostoria
to William E. and Cleo M. (Downing) Fox. He married Norma Jean
Thompson on Dec. 12, 1970 in Angola, Ind., and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters,
Mrs. Jeff (Tamara) Drake, Fostoria; Mrs. Walter (Lori) Surgnier
Jr., in Germany; three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Jim
(Wynetta) Dauterman, Fostoria; Mrs. Fred (Bertha) Snell, Pennsylvania;
and Mrs. Paul (Betty) Hoffman and Mrs. Tom (Nancy) Hoffman,
both of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by a sister,
Phyllis Jennings.
Mr. Fox was a construction worker
and heavy equipment operator.
He was a 1965 Fostoria High School
graduate and a former member of Fostoria Eagles Club.

Anthony "Tony" Fredritz, 43, died
early Sunday afternoon, March 26, 2000, at his residence at
341 W. Market St., Tiffin.
He was born in Fostoria, March
7, 1957, to Paul T. and Florence T. (Miller) Fredritz, who survive
in Vanlue.
Other survivors include: seven
brothers and sisters, Mrs. Donald (Janice) Stark of Wharton,
Ronald and Gary, both of Carey, Linda Garrett of Fostoria, Carol
Miller, Mrs. James (Sharon) Hunter, also both of Carey, Mrs.

Mr. Fredritz, a 1976 graduate of
Vanlue High School, was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady
of Consolation Catholic Church, Carey.

be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation,
with the Rev. Benjamin Knopp as celebrant. Interment will be
in St. Mary's Cemetery, Carey.

Mrs. Gary died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, April
15, 2000 at Hunter's Glen Hospice Care, Missoula, Mont.
She was born Nov. 5, 1906 in Fostoria to Frank
and Elizabeth (Schiefer) Serfoss. She married Henry H. Gary
on Feb. 6, 1927, at Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria, and he
died Sept. 28, 1991.
Survivors include three sons, Frank R. of
Los Alamitos, Calif.; Dr. Henry H. Jr. of Missoula, Mont.;
and Dr. Jeffrey D. of Baltimore, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. Daniel
(Patricia) McGinnis, Bowling Green; 12 grandchildren; a step-grandchild;
nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Mergenthaler,
Fostoria.
Mrs. Gary was a homemaker who had worked as
a cost accountant at Union Carbide (now National Electric
Carbon), Fostoria.
She was a 1924 Fostoria High School graduate.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and its Women's Society;
Hope 60 Club; Silver Cross Circle of King's Daughters; and
Fostoria Coin Club.

Sunday, April 23, 2000 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 24, 1934 in Leechburg,
Pa. to Clarence A. and Mae (Bagley) Fetterman. He married Germaine
Beck in September of 1957 in Vandergrift, Pa., and she died
in 1983.
Survivors include two sons, Robert
J. of Fostoria; and Timothy R. of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl A. of West Leechburg,
Pa.; and a sister, Anna Mae Ferguson, Sarver, Pa.
He was preceded in death by a son,
Steve; and a brother, Robert L.
Mr. Fetterman retired in 1988 after
working 25 years in the maintenance department at Atlas Inc.
(now TKA Atlas), Fostoria.
He served in the U.S. Air Force
during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic
Church, American Legion Post 73, VFW Post 42; and Eagles Club
430, all of Fostoria.

Isidro C. Gonzales, 69, died at 9:46 a.m. Sunday, May 14,

He was born March 12, 1931, in
San Antonio, Texas, to the late Ysidro and Soledad (Coronado)
Gonzales. In 1952, he married Irene Ramiez. They were divorced.
In 1975, he married Delores Lopez, who survives in Fostoria.

Jutta Eva Elchert, 63, of South
Main Street, Fostoria, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13,
2000, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
She was born in Ammerland, Germany,
July 2, 1936, to the late Kaethe Kerschl. She first married
Marvin E. Elchert Aug. 13, 1956, in Hanau, Germany. He died
June 22, 1974. She later married James Rosendale in January
1989, in Findlay. He died Feb. 28, 1996.
Survivors include: two sons,
James E. and Timothy E. Elchert, both of Fostoria; two daughters,
Mrs. Mylo (Debbie) Jennings and Mrs. Paul (Marylou) Miller,
both of Fostoria; a sister, Helga Mackey of West Palm Beach,
Fla.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A sister, Peggy Roman; and a
grandchild, also are deceased.
Mrs. Elchert, a member of St.
Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, retired in 1999 as a nutritionist
from the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Findlay.

Stephen "Steve" Elchert, 79, of 9525 E.
TR 8, Republic, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at his home,
following an illness of 14 months.
He was born Nov. 24, 1920, in Tiffin,
to Joseph and Catherine (Scharger) Elchert. On Feb. 12,
1946, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tiffin, he married
Martha A. Steinmetz, who survives.
Other survivors include: five daughters,
Mrs. Tim (Ann) Morlock, Mrs. Harold (Marty) Factor and
Peg and Carol Elchert, all of Republic and Mrs. Jane Gruss
of Norwalk; a sister, Mrs. Gayland Webb of Tiffin; a brother,
Paul of Fostoria; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A son, Urban J..; a twin son and daughter;
two brothers, Lawrence and George; and a sister, Geraldine
Feasel, are deceased.
Mr. Elchert retired from farming in 1999
and also worked as a maintenance man for Heidelberg College,
retiring in 1970.
He attended school in New Riegel and was
a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Republic, St.
Aloysius Knights of Columbus, Tiffin Moose Lodge 4862,
Tiffin Eagles, Bloomville American Legion 434 and a life
member of Tiffin VFW Post 2858.
He served in the U.S. Army during World
War II.

Isabel M. Eschenbrenner, 92, of 232 Rock
St., Fostoria, died at 3:10 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2000,
at her daughter's home.
She was born June 15, 1907, in Reed Township,
to Benjamin and Mary (Meyers) Schock. On Feb. 8, 1932, in
St. Joseph Church, Tiffin, she married Leo E. Eschenbrenner,
who preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1985.
Survivors include: a son, Paul Eschenbrenner
of Robinson, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Phillip (Catherine)
Seifert of Perrysburg and Joan Bugner of Fostoria; seven
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers,
two sisters and a grandchild.
Mrs. Eschenbrenner retired in 1970, as a
start placer from the General Electric, after 21 years of
employment.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic
Church, Republic and the G.E. Watts.

Jackie Lee Goodale, 58, of Traverse City,

Munson Medical Center. He was born Oct. 17, 1941 to Blaine
and Alva Mary (Coleman) Goodale, both are deceased.
Surviving include: two daughters, Dulcy
and Chelsea Goodale, both of Traverse City; three brothers,
Bernard Goodale of Findlay, Roger Goodale of Terre Haute,
Ind., and James Goodale of Fort Seneca; six sisters, Virginia
Hart of Fostoria, Bernita Gerwin of Madrid Spain, Gloria
Wagner, Connie Kiser and Shirley Bulkowski, all of Fostoria,
and Beverly Peticas of Fremont; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces,
great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews,
and a great-great-great niece.
He was preceded in death by: two sisters,
Eleanor Sheridan, and Bessie Gee; and a brother, Richard
Goodale.
Mr. Goodale was a retired salesman living
in Traverse City since he was 23. he enjoyed gardening and
loved his dog Vinnie.

to James F. and Blanche Lydia (Henretty) Gordon. On Jan.

married Charles W. Groman, who died Feb. 14, 1995.

Groman of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Harvey (Judith)
Yocom of Tiffin; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A son, Harry Groman; a brother, Virgil Gordon;

Mrs. Groman, a graduate of Fostoria High
School, retired as a buyer/retail sales clerk from the former

Amanda Elizabeth Townes-Fuller, 66, of Stinchcomb
Drive, Fostoria, died at 12:25 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2000,
in Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born June 8, 1934, in Williamson,
W.V. to Oscar and Lucy (Praer) Townes. She married Floyd
Fuller, Jr. on May 6, 1951, in Kentucky and he survives
in Delray Beach, Fla.
Other survivors include: four sons, David
of Delray Beach, John of Tiffin, Benjamin of Fostoria and
Christopher of Lima; a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Barbara) Jackson
of Fostoria; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and
three sisters, Alice Medley of Williamson, W.Va., Thelma
Milton of Chicago and Josephine Braggs of Detroit.
Her parents; a daughter, Jane Fuller; two
brothers, Robert and Charles Townes; and two sisters, Estelle

Wilson E. Gruber, 92, of Culbertson Street,
Fostoria, died at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, in Fostoria
Community Hospital.
He was born Sept. 30, 1907, in Grabil, Ind.,
to Charles and Ella (Zimmerman) Gruber. His wife, Anna R.
(Widmer) Gruber, whom he married Nov. 15, 1924, in Monroe,
Mich., died Dec. 26, 1988.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews,
three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A son, Harold Gruber; and a sister, Millie
Klever, also are deceased.
Mr. Gruber, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran,
retired in 1967 as a foreman from the Union Carbide (now
National Electric Carbon) in Fostoria, where he had been
employed for 33 years.
He was a member of High Street United Methodist
Church and VFW Post 421, both of Fostoria and the American
Legion of Bradner.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday
in the Bradner Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted
by the Joint Veterans Group of Fostoria. The Rev. Jeffrey

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. -- Memorial services for Robert
Louis Goodyear, 87, of Zephyrhills, Fla. and Findlay, and

Mr. Goodyear died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000
at Hospice House, Dade City, Fla.
He was born April 2, 1913 in Bloomdale
to Adlophus and Grace (Shimmin) Goodyear. He married Mildred
Hartley Sahs, and she preceded him in death. He later
married Donita Corbin Dietelbach on June 9, 1988 in Fostoria,
and she survives.
Other survivors include eight stepsons,
Fredrick, Robert, David, Raymond, Timothy and Tony Dietelbach,
all of Findlay; Michael Dietelbach, Lutz, Fla.; and Richard
Dietelbach, Zephyrhills, Fla.; 17 step-grandchildren;
and nine step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson,
John Dietelbach; a stepdaughter, Donavee Vosburgh; a sister,
Mary Goodyear; and two brothers, Adolph and Thomas "Tom."
Mr. Goodyear retired from N&W Railroad
in 1974.
He was a member of Fostoria Wesley Methodist
Church, Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo 32nd Degree Mason,
Zenobia Shrine Temple and Fostoria Shrine Club. He was
a 52-year member of Fostoria Masonic Bodies.
Mr. Goodyear was Past Master of Fostoria
Chapter 288 F&AM and Council 90 of Royal and Select
Masons, Past High Priest of Garfield Chapter of Royal
Arch Masons, Past Commander of Fostoria Commandery of
Knights Templar, Past Patron of Fostoria Chapter 94 OES
and Past President of Fostoria Mausoleum Society. He also
received honorary Highest Degree from DeMalay.

Efren Garcia, 52, of Monroe St., Tiffin,
died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital,
Toledo. He was born Feb. 17, 1948 to Vincent and Frances
(Salazar) Garcia, both deceased.
Surviving include: two sons, Vincent and
Brian Garcia, both of Clyde; a daughter, Crystal Garcia
of Clyde; seven brothers, Joe Garcia of Fostoria, Lou
and Mario Garcia, both of Columbus, Oscar Garcia of Sandusky,
Gus Garcia of Reno, Nev., and Roberto Garcia of N. M.;
six sisters, Rosie Balderas of Tex., Lupe Krotzer of Lima,
Ofelia Langmeyer of PA., Ida Vento and Velia Tracheta,
both of Tex., and Lydia Silva of Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Garcia received his education in the
Gibsonburg School System and was a disabled laborer.
The Rev. Paul Finney will officiate the
1 p.m. Monday funeral service at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral

Florence L. Etzinger-Reese, 88, of 725
Columbus Ave., Fostoria, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday,
Sept. 9, 2000, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.
She was born Jan. 9, 1912, in Bucyrus,
to Volney and Sevilla (Barnhart) Robertson. On Aug. 10,
1928, in Bucyrus, she married Robert Lahr Etzinger, who
died June 16, 1940. She later married Raymond Reese on
July 26, 1941. He preceded her in death March 2, 1969.
Survivors include: a son, Robert J. Etzinger
of Fostoria; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Barbara) Bateson
of Bloomdale and Mrs. Paul (Mary) Heckathorn of Fostoria;
a sister, Mrs. Paul (Arlene) Kelley of Bucyrus; 14 grandchildren,
29 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and
four step-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son,
William E. "Bill" Etzinger; a step-son, Donald R. Reese;
and a daughter, JoAnn Calmes.
Mrs. Reese, a homemaker, was a member
of the Hope Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the
VFW Ladies Auxiliary, both of Fostoria.

11 a.m. Tuesday graveside service in Fountain Cemetery,

Norman M. Fostorians Brother
Norman M. Goshe, 73, died Friday, Sept.
8, 2000, at his residence in McAlester, Okla.
He was born Oct. 13, 1926, in New Riegel,
to the late Albert and Irene (Rinehart) Goshe. In 1945,
in Longview, Texas, he married Mary Ellen Bea. She died
Feb. 28.
Survivors include: a son, Dennis Goshe
of Hartshorne, Okla.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren;
a brother, Delmer Goshe of Tiffin; a sister, Arvilla Layton
of Fostoria; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Goshe, who attended school in New
Riegel, moved to McAlester in 1975 from Ojai, Ohio.
He worked as an auto body technician for
35 years for numerous companies including Bill Vicars
and Buck Wilson Auto.
A member of the Catholic faith, he enjoyed
fishing, hunting and coaching baseball.
He served in the U.S. Army March 12, 1945,
until Dec. 7, 1946, during World War II.
Private family services will take place
at a later date.

Bernice Frankart, 70, died at 3:05 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at her home at 2117 McCutchenville
Road, Fostoria.
She was born March 1, 1930, in Seneca
County, to the late Nicholas and May (Burkett) Frankart.
Surviving are two sisters, Blanche Frankart
of Fostoria and her twin, Mrs. Joseph (Beatrice) Wank
of New Riegel; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister,
Mary Louise Frankart; and six brothers, Carl, Clair, Earl,
Irvin, Alvin and Edmund Frankart.
Ms. Frankart, a member of St. Wendelin
Catholic Church, Fostoria, retired as a machine operator
in 1980, from Allied Signal, Fostoria (now Honeywell),
after 32 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial for the public
will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic
Church, with the Rev. Daniel J. Ring officiating. Burial
will be in the parish cemetery.

CAREY -- Matthew E. Fagan Sr., 63, of 7565 County Road 45,
Carey, died at 1:43 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000 at his
residence.
He was born Nov. 1, 1936 in Findlay to
Matthew A. and Minta N. (Workman) Fagan. He married Patricia
J. Mullholand on June 30, 1990, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Matthew
Jr. and Michael, both of Findlay; and Martin of Benton
Ridge; a daughter, Mrs. Ron (Terry) Spradlin, Carey; a
stepdaughter, Mrs. Marcus (Jane) Bell, Harrisburg, Pa.;
six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three brothers,
Vaynard E. of Fostoria; and Virgil D. Sr. and Richard
Max, both of Findlay; and two sisters, Mrs. Don (Collene)
Radabaugh, Findlay; and Mrs. Richard (Maxine) Billingsley,
Williamstown.
He was preceded in death by a brother,
Harold; and two sisters, Frieda Fagan and Doris Spence.
Mr. Fagan retired in 1995 after working
30 years at Whirlpool Corp., Findlay.

Robert E. Fey, 78, died Tuesday evening,
Sept. 26, 2000, at his home at 1934 TR 249, Arcadia.
He was born Aug. 26, 1922, in Tiffin,
to Joseph and Emma (Fogle) Fey. On July 14, 1945, he married
Miriam R. Snavely. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Bart C.
Fey of Columbus; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Kerry)
Ferguson of Ada, Mrs. John (Cinde) Reynolds of Wayne and
Mrs. Jerry (Duana) Pierce of Findlay; and 11 grandchildren.

brothers, Herman and Walter Fey.
Mr. Fey, a member of the North Baltimore
Lions Club, retired from the Atlas Corp.
A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he had
been a prisoner of war in Germany.

Nicholas P. Gschwind, 87 fostoria and

He was born June 18, 1913 in Helena
to Nocholas J. and Izetta (Reinhardt) Gschwind. He married
Lorna Hillman on May 14, 1953 and she survives.
Also surviving are one brother, J.C.Gschwind,

He was preceded in death by one brother
Pearl "Babe" Gschwind and one sister, Lucille Gschwind.
Mr. Gschwind was a kiln loader for Ford

Richard B. "Dick" Findley, 66, of CR 3, Fostoria, died
Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, in Carp Lake Township, near Carp
Lake, Mich., of natural causes.
He was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Jackson
Township, to Vernon F. and Miriam I. (Feasel) Findley.
His mother survives in Fostoria. On Sept. 20, 1953,
in Amsden, he married Marlyn A. Rouser, who survives
in rural Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son, Richard
A. Findley of Fostoria; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis
(Debra) Finsel and Mrs. Michael (Cindy) Lynch, both
of Fostoria, and Mrs. Steve (Brenda) Phelps of San Antonio,
Texas; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Also preceding him in death were his
father; a brother, Gerald E.. Findley; and a sister,
Betty L. Findley.
Mr. Findley, a self-employed farmer,
retired in 1994.
A 1952 graduate of Jackson Liberty High
School, he was a member of the Amsden United Methodist
Church.
Also an avid hunter and fisherman, he
had served as a Jackson Township trustee for the past
27 years.

Etta M. Erwin, 73, of 412 Burnham Drive,
Fostoria, died at 10:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, in
St. Luke's Hospital, Tempe, Ariz.
She was born May 2, 1927, in Sharon, Pa.,
to William and Beatrice (Davis) Ritenour. Her husband,
Joseph T. "Mickey" Erwin, whom she married April 15, 1950,
in Washington, D.C., died May 16, 1985.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. James
(Cynthia S.) Phipps of Fostoria; three grandchildren,
three step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Erwin was employed as a secretary
for the former Wollam-Heiser Realty and then Hollinger
Insurance Agency, both of Fostoria, for more than 15 years,
retiring in 1996.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist
Church, Elks Lodge 935 and numerous Bridge clubs, all
in Fostoria and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She also served as a volunteer at Fostoria
Community Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday
in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev.
Branson J. Hawkes officiating. Interment will be in Fountain
Cemetery, Fostoria.

Funeral services for Delbert Arthur Gallant,

He was born Aug. 22, 1918 in Findlay to
Arthur and Ethel (Morrison) Gallant. He married E. Louise
Cox on May 12, 1940, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jerry L.
of Arcadia; Dennis L. of Ocala, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs.
Al (Kathy) Morrison, Findlay; four grandchildren; and
a brother, Robert H. of rural Fostoria.
Mr. Gallant was retired from Cavins Kitchen
Village. He aslo had worked at Fassett Lumber Co., Neff
Lumber Co. and Haupert Lumber Co. as a salesman.
He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S.
Repose, a hospital ship, during World War II. He attained
the rank of Pharmacist's Mate Third Class.
Mr. Gallant was a 59-year member of Trinity
Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was a former Sunday
school superintendent. He was a 55-year member of Findlay
B.P.O.E 75. He was a 1936 graduate of Findlay High School.

Pearl E. "Dingle" French, 82, of Christopher
Drive, Fostoria, died at 2:12 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19,

born Aug. 26, 1918 in Rising Sun to Leland and Elsie (Steinhurst)
Beeson. On Feb. 28, 1942 she married Wilbur "Red" French,
he died in 1971.
Surviving include: several nieces and
nephews.
Preceding her in death was a brother,
Bill Beeson; and two sisters, Ruth Dawson and Virginia
Heistand.
Mrs. French was a 1936 graduate of Fostoria
High School. She retired from Bersted & Fostoria Industries,
both in Fostoria. Past President of Fostoria VFW Ladies
Auxiliary and member of Fostoria Eagle's Ladies Auxiliary.

Eldon R. Folk, 68, of 1231 Perrysburg Road,

of Holly Glen, Toledo.
He was born April 12, 1932, in Fostoria,
to the late Howard and Evelyn (Cole) Folk.
Surviving are three sons, Robert J. and
Michael E. Folk of Bloomdale and James R. Folk of Rudolph;
14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Vernon "Whitey" Folk, also is
deceased.

William P. President of Fostoria Industries, Inc.
William P. Eibner, 55, of 2405 Hawthorne
Dr., Fostoria, died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000
at his home. He was born Aug. 20, 1945 to William P. and
Mary V. (Cuciak) Eibner, both deceased. On Feb. 7, 1970
he married Karen L. Sargent, and she survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Jason
S. Eibner of Colo., Chad S. Eibner, and Erik W. Eibner,
both of Columbus, and Kevin K. Eibner of Fostoria; two sisters,
Delores West of Pittsburgh, PA., and Gayle Swiercinski of
Cleveland.
Mr. Eibner was president of Fostoria Industries,
Inc. from 1997 to 2000. Nationally, he was the past president
of the Infrared Equipment Association, the past Chairman
of The Electrification Council, and currently served as
Vice-president of the Industrial Heating Equipment Association.
His memberships included: St. Wendelin Catholic Church,
Fostoria, where he was past Chairman of the St. Wendelin
School Advisory Council, booth chairman St. Wendelin Festival,
and a Eucharistic Minister. He was past Chairman of the
Board of our local Camp Fire, past Chairman of the Board
of the Seneca Area Career System, served on the Board of
Directors for the Fostoria Chamber of Commerce, and also
the Board of Directors of the Fostoria Economic Development
Corporation, the Board of Trustees of the Fostoria Community
Hospital, the Board of Directors of the Fostoria Junior
Achievement, the Advisory Board of Keystone Academy, the
Board of Directors of SACS, and past Chairman of the United
Way campaign, Fostoria Rotary Club, Fostoria University
Club, and Fostoria Country Club.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held

She was born July 16, 1922
in Fostoria to Edward and Hattie (Heiser) Evenbeck. She
married Dale E. Fruth on May 17, 1942 in West Independence,
and he died Sept. 30, 1975.
Surviving are four sons, Ronald Dale of
Fostoria; Gary E. of Vanlue; Terry L. of Wauseon; Lt. Col.
Timothy D. of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Ardis A. Taylor,
Franklin, Ky.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
a brother, Benjamin Evenbeck, Fostoria; and three sisters,
Margaret Hartman, Knoxville, Tenn.; Lucy Reiter, Fostoria;
and Luella Lewis, Findlay.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild;
and a brother, Robert Evenbeck.
Mrs. Fruth was a homemaker. She also worked
15 years as a clerk in a doctor's office in Fort Myers,
Fla., retiring in 1991.
She was a 1942 graduate of Arcadia High
School.
Mrs. Fruth was a member of High Street United
Methodist Church in Fostoria and the church choir. She volunteered
at Fostoria Community Hospital and the Sharing Kitchen.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Jeffrey Waite officiating.
Burial will be in West Independence Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. today at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

David Fostoria resident
David O. "Gamy" Gamertsfelder, 53, of Twp.
Rd. 34, Fostoria, died at 7:25 a.m. at Fostoria Community
Hospital. He was born April 18, 1947 in Fremont to Owen
and Willah (Mitchell) Gamertsfelder. He first married Cynthia
Andecover, they divorced, he then married Shirley Shane
of 25 years, and she survives.
Also surviving include: his mother and stepfather,
Willah and Don Yambert of Burgoon; a son, Cory Gamertsfelder
of Fremont; a daughter, Mrs. Jolene Biggins of Fremont;
a step-son, Randy Shane of Ruskin, Fla.; three brothers,
Dennis of Fremont, Don of Bettsville and Jon of Hudson;
a sister, Sally Kato of Oak Harbor; a step-brother, Chuck
Yambert of Bowling Green; two step-sisters, Denise Perkey
of Wayne and Jody Yambert of Toledo; and three step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father,
Owen.
Mr. Gamertsfelder was a 1965 graduate of
Lakota High School. He worked as a sales representative
for Cash Depot in Greenbay, Wis., serving the Ohio area.
A member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fremont;
Fostoria Elk's Lodge; Clyde Eagles; Fremont VFW; Port Clinton
Moose; Pleasant Grove Grange in Bascom and an avid golfer.
The Rev. Martha Gross will officiate the
10:30 a.m. Saturday funeral services at Burgoon United Methodist
Church. Burial will be at Sand Ridge Cemetery, Bascom.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Thomas Merton Gray, 72, of 3055 Fostoria
Road, Fostoria, died at 6:27 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000,
in Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born April 4, 1928, in Tiffin,
to the late A. Gordon and Clara (Wertz) Gray. His wife,
Nancy Ellen (Cameron) Gray, whom he married Sept. 25,
1954, in the First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, survives
in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son, Gordon
Thomas Gray of Scarborough, Maine; three daughters, Mrs.
Morton (Teresa E.) Hansen of Fostoria, Mrs. Matt (Lisa
J.) Fisher of Westerville and Mrs. Brian (L. Cameron)
Winter of Avon Lake; a brother, George A. Gray of Fostoria;
and seven grandchildren.
A brother, James Gordon Gray; and a sister,
Jane Gray-Stone, prececed him in death.
Mr. Gray, past president of the Geary
Family YMCA, Fostoria, retired in 1994 as chairman of
the Gray Printing Co. in Fostoria, after 42 years of service.
A 1946 graduate of Culver Military Academy,
Culver, Ind. and a 1950 graduate of The College of Wooster,
he served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean
Conflict.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian
Church, where he served as an elder and sang in the choir;
Masonic Lodge 288 Free and Accepted Mason, Fostoria Shrine
Club, the Valley Creek Lodge, the University Club, Power
Squadron, the Fostoria Country Club, Fostoria Area Republican
Club and the Rotary Club, where he served as past president,
all of Fostoria.
He also was a member of the Catawba Island
Club and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo and Zenobia
Shrine, both of Toledo.
The Rev. R. Edson Reed will be the officiant
at the 11 a.m. Friday service in the First Presbyterian
Church.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday
in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, where Masonic
memorial services will be at 7 p.m.

Ferrall,
Marcella M. Fostorians Mother
Marcella M. Ferrall, 91, 14 Duchess Lane,
died at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, in the Autumnwood
Care Center.
She was born Oct. 13, 1909, in Tiffin,
to Edward and Cecilia (Bogner) Daniel. On Oct. 5, 1935,
in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, she married Wilbur
Ferrall, who survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters,
Mrs.Joyce Peck of Fostoria and Mrs. Fred (Jane) Sweeney
of Sylvania; a brother, Fred Daniel of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren,
10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
A daughter, Ann Goetz; four sisters, Edna
Margraf, Alma Daniel, Agnes Daniel and Margaret Frankart;
and a brother, Herman Daniel, also are deceased.
A homemaker, Mrs. Ferrall, also served
as a volunteer in the Calvert High School cafeteria and
for the Red Cross.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic
Church and had been a Girl Scout leader for a number of
years.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday
in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Thomas Ankenbrandt
as celebrant. The rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior
to the funeral Mass on Friday at the church. Burial will
be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the
funeral Mass Friday in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Geraldine O. Retired homemaker
Geraldine O. Garrett, 86, a resident of
the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, 725 Columbus Ave., Fostoria,
died there at 3:50 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2000.
She was born Sept. 17, 1914, in Bowling
Green, to Orville and Flora (Stacy) Ward. Her husband
of 65 years, Richard E. Garrett, survives in Fostoria.
Survivors also include: two sons, Robert
W. Garrett of Uniontown, Pa., and Douglas R. Garrett of
Boca Raton, Fla.; three half brothers, Richard Ward of
Atlanta, Ga., John and William Ward, both of Bowling Green;
a brother, Robert Ward of Dayton; a sister, Helen Davenport
of Fremont; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A brother, Howard Ward, and a sister,
Mary Miller, also are deceased.
Mrs. Garrett, a homemaker, was a graduate
of Bowling Green High School.
A member of Trinity United Methodist Church
and the Fire Department Auxiliary, which she had served
as president, she was a past member of Mothers for Little
League and Mothers for Schools, all of Bowling Green.
The Rev. Larry Swaisgood will be the officiant
at the 10 a.m. Tuesday service in the Mann-Hare Funeral
Home, Fostoria. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery,
Bowling Green.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. until time
of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

William A. Fostoria Industries
retiree
William A. Flechtner, 82, of North Main
Street, Fostoria, died at 1:35 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2000,
in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
He was born Aug. 20, 1918, in Fostoria,
to Moes and Kathryn (Manecke) Flechtner. His wife, Virginia
(Johnson) Flechtner, whom he married Sept. 29, 1940, in
Clyde, died Jan. 22, 1995.
Survivors include: a son, Gerald Flechtner
of Fostoria; and a sister, Freda Longanecker of Central
Point, Ore.
Mr. Flechtner retired in 1989 from Fostoria
Industries, after 39 years of service.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, with the Rev.
David Chapman officiating.
There will be no visitation. The Harrold-Floriana
Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of arrangements.

Juanita
A memorial service for Juanita L. Garlick,
71, of 328 Wilson St., will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday
at Findlay Evangelical Church, the Rev. Richard Krcal
officiating.
No visitation will be held, and the body
will be cremated.
Mrs. Garlick died at 11:15 p.m. Monday,
Dec. 18, 2000 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.
She was born Dec. 18, 1929 in Findlay to Charles and Elizabeth
(Bartchlett) Finerd.
She married Paul Preston on Oct. 3, 1946,
and they divorced. She then married Ira E. Garlick July
25, 1975 in Monroe, Mich., and he survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs.
Charles (Sue) Frizzell, Pemberville; Debra Preston, Receda,
Calif.; Mrs. David (Barbara Preston) Rumschlag, Fostoria;
and Mrs. Duane (Cheryl) Flugga, Findlay; a son, Paul Richard
Preston, Clear Water, Fla.; two stepsons, Dennis Garlick,
Fostoria; and Allan Garlick, Perry; a stepdaughter, Kathleen
Musgrave, Perry; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
five sisters, Mrs. Orville (Bonnie) Smith and Mrs. Merle
(Nellie) Ireland, both of Tucson, Ariz.; and Mrs. Donald
(Clara) Gibbs, Mrs. Andrew (Vera) Sterling and Ruth McGarity,
all of Findlay; and three brothers, Ralph, Charles and
Robert Finerd, all of Tucson, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild,
a brother and three sisters.
Mrs. Garlick was a shipping clerk at Allied
Automotive in Fostoria, retiring in 1986 after 30 years
of employment.
She was a member of Trilby United Methodist
Church, Trilby, Fla.
