Linda J. Dillon, 43, of 1290 Perrysburg
Road, Fostoria, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at the
Medical College of Ohio, Toledo. She was born Aug. 7, 1956,
to Fred Fraley, who is deceased, and Beatrice J. (Brady) Fox,
who survives in Fostoria. She married Gary L. Dillon. They were
divorced. He survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son,
Jeremy L. Dillon of Findlay; two daughters, Mrs. Lesley Rumschlag
and Tammy L. Dillon, both of Fostoria; a stepmother, Marlene
(Burrow) Fraley of Fostoria; three sisters, Mrs. Deborah Watkins
of Rawson, Mrs. Jennifer Sherman and Mrs. Rebecca Hopple, both
of Fostoria.
Preceding her in death was her
stepfather, Lowell H. Fox.
Mrs. Dillon was a homemaker and
member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Moose Lodge 1567
and Eagles Club 430, all of Fostoria.
The Rev. Lucinda Hunter will officiate
the 11 a.m. Saturday funeral at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home,
Fostoria. Interment will be at Memory Gardens in Arcadia.
Visitation will be 5-9 tonight
at the funeral home.

FOSTORIA -- Private funeral services
for Janet S. Cassell, 61, of Fostoria and formerly of Wayne,
will be held Thursday at Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne. Burial
will be private.
Visitation will be held from 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cassell died early Sunday
morning, Jan. 16, 2000 at her residence.
She was born May 10, 1938 in Findlay
to Harold and Ruth (DeHays) Walters. She married Frederick A.
Cassell Sr. on Aug. 3, 1963 in Angola, Ind., and he died Sept.
3, 1998.
Surviving are three sons, Frederick
A. Cassell Jr. and Isaac Cassell, both of Findlay; Charles Artressia,
Dunkirk; two daughters, Candy Artressia, Dallas, Texas; Rona
Herbert, Toledo; a sister, Teresa Walters, Columbus; a brother,
Robert Spence, Findlay; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Cassell worked at Kohl's Distribution
Center in Findlay as a sorter and packager.

Former Bettsville homemaker
Fern Marie Clingman, 78, a resident
of the Independence House, Fostoria, died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday,
Jan. 16, 2000, in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo.
She was born in Michigan July 5,
1921, to Harlan and Ada Yant. Her husband, Ray M. Clingman,
whom she married Feb. 12, 1941, died March 10, 1973.
Survivors include: a son, Ronald
Clingman of Fostoria; three grandchildren; and three sisters,
Jean Von Deylen of Waterville, Elaine Faber of Wauseon and Jane
Bolley of Holgate.
Preceding her in death were: a
son, Larry Clingman; a daughter, Barbara Warner; two brothers,
LaVern and Richard Yant; and a sister, Mary Bateson.
Mrs. Clingman, a resident of the
Bettsville area for 45 years, was a homemaker.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Friday in the High Street United Methodist Church, Fostoria,
with the Rev. Jeffrey L. Waite officiating. Burial will be in
Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville.
Visitation is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.
today at the Engle Funeral Home of Bettsville.

FOSTORIA -- Carl E. Conine, 83,
of 21903 Ohio 12, Fostoria, died at 10:22 a.m. Friday, Jan.
21, 2000 at Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Sept. 20, 1916 in Arcadia
to Charles and Mary Ellen (Gangle) Conine. He married Dorothy
M. Deiter Aug. 14, 1948 and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons,
Gary E. and Ronald L., both of rural Fostoria; and Douglas M.
of rural Findlay; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Sandra K.) Franks,
Arcadia; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren;
five stepgreat-grandchildren; and five sisters, Dessie Wells,
Arcadia; and Marjorie Nesbitt, Marilyn Miller, Lois Holman and
Betty Heischman, all of Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by four
sisters, Gyneth Garman, Lovene Seaman, Dorothy Robbins and Mariam
Binger; and five brothers, Arthur, Alfred, Clayton, Paul R.
and Kenneth.
Mr. Conine was a retired farmer.
He served in the U.S. Army in the
European and North African theaters during World War II. He
was a Silver Star recipient.
He was a member of Fostoria Baptist
Church, where he had been a deacon, Arcadia Lions Club and Arcadia
Athletic Boosters. He was a former committee member of the American
Soil and Conservation Service and was a former Washington Township
trustee.
Funeral services will be held at
10 a.m. Monday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, the Rev. David
P. Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Cemetery,
near Arcadia.
Graveside military rites will be
conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
Visitation will be held after 2
p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Iva DeWitt, 87, of 25 Christopher
Drive, Fostoria, died at 9:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in
St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, where she had resided
for about10 years.
She was born Nov. 13, 1912. Her
companion, Vernon Folk, died March 17, 1993.
Surviving are many friends and
acquaintances.

p.m. Tuesday service in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

FOSTORIA -- Memorial services for
Hazel M. Clark, 78, a resident of Good Shepherd Nursing Home,
Fostoria, will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in the Good Shepherd
chapel, Rev. Sterling Beasley officiating. Burial will be in
Kansas Cemetery.
Mrs. Clark died at 6:05 p.m. Monday,
Feb. 7, 2000, at the nursing home.
She was born Nov. 4, 1921, in Risingsun
to George and Myrtle (Hedden) Hopkins. She married Robert E.
Clark on Jan. 25, 1941, in Fostoria. He died April 8, 1995.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol
Kraylek, Fostoria; Myrtle Mason, Troy; four grandchildren; and
nine great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death
by one son, Dean R.
Mrs. Clark was a homemaker.

Cassidy, Kathryn
FOSTORIA -- Kathryn E. Cassidy,
84, of 622 W. North St., Fostoria, died at 12:01 a.m. Friday,
Feb. 11, 2000 at Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born Sept. 26, 1915 in
Ada to Joseph A. and Etta (Quinn) Kelly. She married Clarence
Cassidy on Nov. 17, 1956 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria,
and he died Dec. 22, 1988.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two
sisters, Helen Weber and Agnes Howbert.
Mrs. Cassidy retired in 1976 after
41 years as an office secretary for the city of Fostoria. She
was previously employed at Superior Coach, Lima, and Products
Pipeline, a division of Standard Oil Co. (now BP), Fostoria.
She was a member of St. Wendelin
Catholic Church, Fostoria, and its Rosary-Altar Society.
She was a 1932 Ada High School
graduate and attended Northwestern School of Commerce, Lima.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Wendelin Catholic
Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be recited at 10 a.m.
Monday. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kenton.

a Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Dalton "Sam" R. Churchman, 97 formerly
of 425 West Ridge Drive, died 8:42 a.m. Feb.10, 2000 at Independence
House.
He was born Oct. 8 1902, in Ney
to George and Florence Churchman. He married Sue Young on Feb.
8, 1964, and she survives.
Also surviving is a stepson, Frank
M. Young, New Orleans, La.; one stepdaughter, Rebecca Cameron,
Fostoria; and two step-grandchildren.
He was proceded in death by two
brothers, Robert and Britton, and a former wife, Betty Davis.
Mr. Churchman was a former production
manager at the Pressed Steel Corporation, now Fostoria Industries.
He was also a sales manager and real estate salesman for Welles-Bowen
Realty Company, Toledo.
He was a member of Collingwood
Presbyterian Church in Toledo, where he was a deacon in 1959.
He was a 1925 graduate of Wittenberg College, where he was a
member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and the football team
Graveside services will be 11 a.m.
Mmonday at Wooodlawn Cemetery, Toledo, the Rev. Stephen Smith
officiation. Burial will follow.

Eugene H. Devore, 72, of 5473 N.
TR 63, Fostoria, died at 12:13 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000,
in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
He was born in Fostoria, March
21, 1927, to the late Leo D. Devore and Bertha E. (Baker) Devore-Stone,
who survives in Fostoria.. His wife, Mary (Saum) Devore, preceded
him in death in 1980.
Surviving are a step-son, Robert
E. Johnson of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. LeRoy (Stella) Johnson
of Fostoria; a brother, Thomas L. DeVore of Fostoria; two sisters,
Mrs. Lewis (Anna) Everhart of Tiffin and Mrs. Floyd (Viola)
Gerlach of Big Prairie, Ohio; a grandchild, a great-grandchild,
three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Also deceased is a sister, Constance
June DeVore.
Mr. Devore retired in 1989 as a
machine operator from the Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria (now TKA
Atlas Inc.) after 20 years of employment.
He was a member of Moose Lodge
1567, American Legion Post 73 and the United Sportsmen, all
of Fostoria.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday
in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Charles
Jarvis officiating. Interment will be in Knollcrest Cemetery

Christopher Dr., Fostoria, died at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 29,

He was born July 11, 1920, in Fostoria,
to John Joseph and Mary M. (Parsh) Droll.
Surviving are four sisters, Mary
C. Schroeder, Florence L. Droll and Mrs. Don (Margaret) Schetter,
all of Fostoria and Emma Sprankle of Findlay; and a brother,
Clarence Droll of Fostoria.
Four brothers and two sisters,
also are deceased.
Mr. Droll was a member of St. Wendelin
Catholic Church, Fostoria.

Juanita M. Dunfee, 73, formerly
of 641 N. Poplar St., Fostoria, died at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb.
29, 2000, in St. Catherine's Care Center, 25 Christopher Drive,
Fostoria.
She was born in Lima, July 30,
1926, to the late John L. "Rusty" and Evelyn M. (Adkins) Thomasson
and raised by her aunt, Florence Kepp. On July 9, 1955, in Bloomdale,
she married Chester E. Dunfee, who died July 24, 1983.
Survivors include: a son, Chester
E. Dunfee II of Bowling Green; a daughter, Denise Potter of
Fostoria; a brother, Fred Thomasson of Oxford, Ala.; five grandchildren
and a step-grandchild.
A brother, also preceded her in
death.
Mrs. Dunfee, a Bloomdale High School
graduate, retired in 1986 as a heat treat operator from the
Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria, where she had been employed for
10 years.
She was a member of Grace United
Church of Christ, Fostoria and the Daughters of America Revolution
and was active for many years in the Parent Teachers Association.
The Rev. Duane Dunfee will be the
officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Friday service in the Mann-Hare
Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment will be in Weaver Cemetery,
Bloom Township.

Guadalupe Diaz, 47, died Monday
evening, March 13, 2000, at her home at 255 E. Sixth St., Fostoria.
She was born in Fostoria, June
29, 1952, to the late Epifanio G. Diaz Sr. and Maria C. (Cepeda)
Diaz-Hernandez, who survives in Fostoria. She was formerly married
to Nicholas S. Malagon.
Other survivors include: her step-father,
Eusebio Hernandez of Fostoria; two daughters, Corina S. and
Jessica A. Malagon, both of Fostoria; a son, Alexander R. Malagon
of Fostoria; three grandchildren; nine brothers, Alfredo Diaz
of Fremont, Epifanio Jr., Mario A., Jesus, Ricardo, Juan and
David, all of Fostoria, Ruben and Jose L. Diaz, both of Dallas,
Texas; and two sisters, Rosa Maria Haman of Huntington, W.Va.
and Debra Lynn Diaz of Fostoria.
A brother, Rodolfo Diaz, also is
deceased.
Mrs. Diaz, a 1972 graduate of Fostoria
High School, had been an inspector at the Roppe Corp. where
she had worked for 20 years.
She was a member of St. Wendelin
Catholic Church, Fostoria and its Guadalupe Society.

residence.
She was born April 5, 1914 in Alger
to David N. and Florence (Hattery) Crist. She married Robert
Foor in September of 1953, and he died in March of 1987.
She is survived by a son, Harold
Craig, Fostoria; a daughter, Lucille A. Bowsher, Harrod; two
stepsons, Ed "Bud" Foor, Fostoria; Robert Foor in Louisiana;
a stepdaughter, Mrs. Tony (Ann) Ward, Fostoria; 11 grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; 35 step-grandchildren;
10 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren;
two brothers, Bill Crist, Wapakoneta; and Bert Crist, Bluffton;
and three sisters, Ethel Thomas, Fostoria; Lova Brandenberry,
Bloomdale; and Jane Reier, Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by two
sons, Dwain N. and Kenneth G. Craig; a grandchild; and her former
husband, Lloyd C. Craig.
Mrs. Foor was a homemaker and had
retired in 1976 as a production operator from Excello in Fostoria.
She was a member of High Street
United Methodist Church, Fostoria.

Rosalie E. Chapman, 54, of 438
Columbus Ave., Fostoria, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at Autumnwood
Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Chapman was born June 6, 1945,
to Kermit and Alice (Cline) Dutton. She married Dale Chapman
Aug. 6, 1965, in Tiffin. He survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Phillip
of Fostoria; two daughters, Bonnie and Naomi Chapman, both of
Fostoria; a stepdaughter, Mary Jane Compton of Mt. Vernon; four
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Delmar Dutton
of Marion; and a sister, Dolores Reedy of Tiffin.
Her parents preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker; a member of
the Church of God, Tiffin; enjoyed making crafts and attending
flea markets.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday
at the Church of God, 127 S. Washington St., where the body
will lie in state. Pastor Ray Moyers will officiate. Friends
will be received one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Coleman died at 11:15 p.m.
Saturday, March 25, 2000 at the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo.
She was born Aug. 10, 1945 in Bodmin,
England to Carl and Mary (Carter) Cardwell, and her mother,
now Mary Beare, survives in Wadebridge, England. She married
John "Pete" Coleman on Jan. 12, 1966 in Fostoria, and he died
Sept. 17, 1993.
Also surviving are four sons, Richard
and Christopher, both of Fostoria; Timothy of Lake Wales, Fla.;
John of Toledo; three daughters, Angie and Linda Coleman and
Deborah King, all of Fostoria; 16 grandchildren; a brother,
Anthony Cardwell, Findlay; and a sister, Shirley Bird, Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by a
brother, Phillip Cardwell; and a sister, Linda Holcomb.
Mrs. Coleman was a taxi cab driver
for Star Cab in Fostoria for 22 years.
She graduated in 1962 from Fostoria
High School. She was a member of the Fostoria Eagles Ladies
Auxiliary.

11, Sycamore, died at his home at 5:05 a.m. Sunday, April
2, 2000.
He was born in Wyandot County,
Aug. 9, 1938, to Henry A. and Mary E. (Shaffer) Cole. His
mother survives in Carey. On Dec. 31, 1959, in North Carolina,
he married M. Frances Hanes, who survives.
Survivors also include: two sons,
Tony Cole of El Paso, Texas and David Cole of Wellington;
four grandchildren; three brothers, Henry Jr., Rich and Donald
Cole, all of Carey; five sisters, Mrs. Larry (Diane) Stevens
of Findlay, Mrs. Gary (Margaret) Cramer of Fostoria, Mrs.Charles
(Dorothy) Graves, Rosemary Billock and Mrs. Robert (Cathy)
Parsons, all of Carey.
His father is deceased.
Mr. Cole, a member of Wildwood
Chapel, Upper Sandusky, was formerly employed at Worthington
Custom Plastics in Upper Sandusky. He also owned and operated
Tymochtee Trailer Campground in Sycamore.

85, of 1669 N. Union St., Fostoria, died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday,
April 2, 2000 at Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born March 10, 1915 in
Carey to Peter M. and Caroline (Moes) Collet.
Surviving is a sister, Charlotte
Kleinfelter, Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by four
brothers, Gerald, Raymond, infant Arthur and Rev. Edward Collet;
and a sister, Teresa Collet.
Miss Collet had been a bookkeeper
for 30 years, working at Shang's Auto Service, Carey Implement
Store and Indian Trail Nursing Home.
She was a former member of the
Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, and a member of
its Rosary Alter Society. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic
Church, Fostoria, and charter member of the Poverello Federal
Credit Union, where she was assistant treasurer for some time.
She was a member of the Secular
Franciscans and had charge of the Retreat Center for 10 years.
She was a promoter for the Franciscan Mission Association since
1955.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Basilica of Our Lady
of Consolation, Carey, the Rev. Daniel J. Ring officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Carey.

She was preceded in death by
a son, David; and a brother, Ralph Busick.
Mrs. Drake was a seamstress in
Fostoria for many years, retiring in 1980.
She was a 1930 Findlay High School
graduate. She attended Arcadia United Methodist Church.

Peter A. DiCesare Sr., 75, of 111 W. Jones
St., Fostoria, died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2000,
at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee.
He was born May 15, 1924, in Fostoria
to Angelo and Angelina (Bruno) DiCesare. He married Theresa
Lupica June 26, 1954, in Bellevue. She survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are: three sons, Joseph
A. of Findlay, Peter A. of Fostoria and John C. of Chillicothe;
two grandchildren; three sisters, Mary J. DiCesare, Julia
A. DiCesare and Loretta (Poppie) Groves, all of Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by two brothers,
Luigi (Louis) and Julius (Frank); and a sister, Philomena
(Fanny) DiCesare.
He attended St. Wendelin schools; was
a World War II U.S. Army veteran, receiving the Jubilee
of Liberty Medal from France; and was the owner and operator
of Pete DiCesare's Shoe Repair 1950-1989. He was affiliated
with St. Wendelin Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus
Council 1197 3rd Degree, for which he was a long-time
softball pitcher for the club team.
The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m.
followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.
Monday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Graveside services
will follow conducted by United Veterans of Fostoria at
the St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.

Alice I. Cook, 87, of Spruce Street,
Fostoria, died at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Independence
House in Fostoria.
She was born March 3, 1913, in
Upper Sandusky to Lloyd and Ida (Heller) Ebersole. She married
Errold M. Cook Sept. 26, 1932, in Leipsic. He died Dec. 25,
1999.
Survivors include: three sons,
Harold of Fostoria, Wayne and Jack, both of Tiffin; a daughter,
Mrs. Clair (Doris) Rose of Modesto, Calif.; 13 grandchildren;
23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Ebersole of Marion
and Gene Taylor of Calif.; and a sister, Clara Wrench of Texas.
Preceding her in death were a son,
Gerold Cook; a daughter, LaLaven Cook; a brother, Robert Taylor;
and a sister, Kathryn Gratz.
Mrs. Cook graduated in 1931 from
Leipsic High School and retired in 1972 from Ford Motor Co.
in Fostoria after 26 years.

She was born Feb. 16, 1916, in
Bucyrus to Samuel and Minnie (Reehling) Layton. She married
Olaf C. Cramer April 2, 1942, in Lisbon. He died in April
1964.
Survivors include: a son, Gary
E. of Fostoria; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest "Trudy Kay" Hall
of Jacksonville, Ark., and Nancy Sue Smith of McCutchenville;
five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister,
Janet Degrandis of Macon, Ga.
In addition to her husband, she
was preceded in death by a sister, Francis Thomas.
She was a 1934 graduate of Galion
High School; a homemaker; member of Union United Church of
Christ in Bascom; and loved to write poetry.

B. Louise Cook, 79, of West Ridge
Drive, Fostoria, died at 2:32 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2000,
in Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born Dec. 4, 1920, in
Harrisburg, Ill., to Frank and Lydia (Conover) Wilgus. On
June 2, 1939, in West Frankfort, Ill., she married James V.
Cook, who survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: two
sons, Alan B. and Alvin B. Cook, both of Columbus; a daughter,
Mrs. Ronald (Carolyn J.) McMaster of Perrysburg; six grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
A sister, Mary Jane Rice, and
a grandchild also are deceased.
Mrs. Cook, a homemaker, was a
member of the Seymour, Ind., First Church of the Nazarene;
former member of the Columbus First Church of the Nazarene
and attended the Fostoria First Church of the Nazarene.
She also was a member of the
Nazarene World Missionary, served as a Sunday School teacher
and sang in the church choir for many years.
A 1938 graduate of Harrisburg,
Ill., High School, she also was a soloist and sang with her
husband in many churches throughout the country.
She worked as a seamstress.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday in the First Church of the Nazarene, Fostoria, with
the Rev. Russell Gumm officiating. Burial will be in Union
Cemetery, Columbus, where the Rev. Ernest Rhoads will conduct
an interment service.

Lucille L. Fruchey-Devore, 85, of
North Towne Street, Fostoria, died at her home Sunday afternoon,
April 16, 2000.
She was born in Paulding County,
Oct. 3, 1914, to John and Flossie (Davis) Fruchey. She married
Ross Lee in August 1931, in Angola, Ind. and they were divorced.
She later married Claude Devore Sept. 11, 1970, in Fostoria.
He died March 26, 1987.
Survivors include: a stepson, Don
Devore of Fostoria; two sisters, Maude Cattell of Findlay and
Lorene Vogel of Inverness, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were
a brother, Clarence Fruchey, and a sister, Irene Fruchey.
Mrs. Devore, who attended the First
United Brethren Church, Findlay, retired in 1979 from the Fostoria
Fuse Signal Co.

Paul J. Carbin, 89, died at 8:30
a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2000, in the Independence Place, 1000
Independence Road, Fostoria, where he resided.
He was born in Tiffin July 31,
1910, to Edward B. and Iva Pearl (Miller) Carbin. His wife,
Uldene D. (Stephenson) Carbin, whom he married Oct. 22, 1938,
in Fort Wayne, Ind., died Dec. 3, 1998.
A son, Michael A. Carbin of Pickerington,
and two grandchildren survive.
A brother, Doyle Carbin, is deceased.
Mr. Carbin retired in 1975 as vice
president of Society National Bank, after 17 years. He also
had been employed at City Loan in Fostoria, Elyria and Tiffin.
A former chairman of Fostoria City
Pool, when it was built in 1938, he was a former chairman of
the Ohio Bankers Consumer Loan Division and a member of Wesley
United Methodist Church, Fostoria Country Club, the Kiwanis
Club and Fostoria Civil Service Commission, all of Fostoria.
He also was a 65-year member of
Fostoria Elks Lodge 935 (served as exalted ruler in Elyria);
former president of the Young Republican Club in Fostoria, Sidney
and Elyria; Dad advisor of Order of DeMolay; and founder and
president of the Elyria Boosters Club.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m.

2000 at North Shore Retirement Community, Lakeside-Marblehead.
She was born Jan. 20, 1922 in Wood
County to Merle and Nancy (Noblit) Boice. She married A. Richard
Conrad on Aug. 31, 1938 in Bowling Green, and he survives in
Sandusky.
Other survivors include a daughter,
Mrs. Snowden (Barbara) Moyer, Sandusky; two grandchildren; four
brothers, Bill Boice of Bowling Green; Ed Lockmiller of North
Baltimore; Dick Lockmiller of Defiance; and Byron Lloyd Hall
of Atlanta; and three sisters, Karen Neier, Weston; and Leona
Spears and Jean Lanning, both of Bowling Green.
She was preceded in death by a
brother, Walter Boice; and two sisters, Norma Spears and Lucille
Conrad.
Mrs. Conrad was a receptionist
for Dr. Markey in Fostoria for several years, and was also a
homemaker.
She was a member of Trinity United
Brethren Church, where she was involved in the Woman's Missionary
Society and coordinator of summer Bible school for Trinity and
other area churches; was past president of Portage Holiness
Camp Auxiliary, Portage; and volunteered at Fostoria Sharing
Kitchen.

Michael W. Decker, 50, of Mervin
Street, Risingsun, died at his home at 8 a.m. Saturday, May
27, 2000.
He was born in Fostoria, Jan. 12,
1950, to William J. and Thelma (Keely) Decker. His mother, now
Thelma Kline, survives in Risingsun. He first married Shari
L. Swaisgood, on Sept. 12, 1970, in Fostoria and they were later
divorced. On July 19, 1986, in Fostoria, he married Beth Ann
Harrold, who also survives in Risingsun.
Other survivors include: a son,
Jeremy Decker of Risingsun; a daughter, Sarah Decker of Fostoria;
a step-son, Jeremy Enright of Fostoria; a step-daughter, Angela
Gee of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and two brothers, Donald D.
Decker of Bradner and Danny D. Decker of Risingsun.
His father is deceased.
Mr. Decker, a 1969 graduate of
Lakota High School, retired in 1999, after more than 25 years
of service as a crane operator at the National Electrical Carbon
in Fostoria.
A former volunteer fireman, he

He also enjoyed Sprint Car racing
and golfing.

she married Orlo R. Castret, he died in 1986.

Judith Ann Knapp of Oregon City, Oregon; a grandson, a brother,
Richard E. Myers of Fostoria; and a sister, Velma Stearns of
Bloomdale.
Mrs. Castret was a 1942 graduate
of Hopewell-Loudon High School and retired in 1985 from Autolite
Company, now Honeywell, in Fostoria after 25 years as a machine
operator. A member of: Fostoria Baptist Church; Fostoria Glass
Association; Community Hospital Auxiliary; secretary Fostoria
Historical Society; volunteer for Sharing kitchen; Bureau of
Concern; and Independence House, all in Fostoria. She had volunteered
over 10,000 hours at Fostoria Community Hospital.

Longtime Findlay
resident dies at 114
Myrtle B. Dorsey, a longtime Findlay resident
and restaurant operator, has died at age 114. She was one of
the oldest people in Ohio.
Mrs. Dorsey died Sunday at a nursing home
in Zanesville.
She operated restaurants in Findlay for many
years, including restaurants at the former Gorrell Hotel and
the former Phoenix Hotel. She also owned a restaurant on the
former Court Place near the county courthouse, and ran a lunch
counter at a bowling alley that was at North Main and Walnut
streets.
Mrs. Dorsey was also involved in women's bowling
from 1925 on, and bowled until she was 99 years old.
She bowled many years at Recreation Lanes,
and for 50 years at Sportsman Lanes.
She helped organize the first bowling league
in Findlay in the mid-1920s.
She was a charter member of the Findlay Area
Women's Bowling Association, and in 1986 was inducted into
that group's hall of fame for superior performance.
Mrs. Dorsey was married to Homer O. Dorsey,
who served as Findlay's mayor from 1932-1939. Earlier, Mr.
Dorsey also had served three terms as Hancock County's probate
judge.

Former Fostoria Foundry employee
Orren A. "Pappy" Dehring, 75, of 248 Rock
St., Fostoria, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, July 2, 2000, in
Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born July 16, 1924, in Rocky Ridge,
Ohio, to Herman G. and Fredricka (Ohm) Dehring. On May 1,
1948, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, he married
Dorothy M. Keiffer, who died in 1981.
Surviving are two sons, Mark H. Dehring of
Fostoria and Robert L. Dehring of Findlay; two daughters,
Janet R. Gilson of North Webster, Ind. and Susan M. Tyson
of Fostoria; eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren
and nine step-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were: four brothers,
Lester, Oscar, Reuben and Justin Dehring; and three sisters,
Viola Henderson, Leah Sprague and Doris Warren.
Mr. Dehring, a World War II U.S. Army veteran,
had been employed at the Fostoria Foundry/Chrysler 1963-76.
A lifelong member of Moose Lodge 1567, where
he had received the "Volunteer of the Year" award, he also
was a member of Eagles 430, AMVETS Post 69 and the United
Sportsmen Club, all of Fostoria.
The Rev. Branson J. Hawkes will be the officiant
at the 11 a.m. Wednesday service in the Mann-Hare Funeral
Home, Fostoria. Interment will be in St. Wendelin Cemetery,

graduate, was a homemaker and worked with her husband on the

Joseph School Library and as a 4-H advisor.

He was born Sept. 11, 1932, in Fostoria, to
Gilbert H. and Edna L. (Taylor) David. He married Norma
Jean Holmer Dec. 23, 1954 in Angola, Ind., and she survives.
Survivors also include a son, Gilbert Dean
II, LaGrange, Ga; a brother, Roger A., Fort Wayne, Ind; a
sister, Janice M. Hammer, Fostoria; and one granddaughter.
Mr. David retired from the United States Army,
having served in Korea and the Vietnam War. He was a
former member of the First Chistian Church, Fostoria; the
Fostoria Masonic 288 Blue Lodge Council, Scottish Rite, KYCH
in Fostoria and LaGrange Ga.; Order of Eastern Star; Court
Appointed Special Advocates; American Legion; Disabled American
; AMVETS; and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First
Chirstian Church, Fostoria.
Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery at a later
date.
Mr. David donated his body to science.

Gordon M. Chapman, 45 Port Clinton, died
Aug. 11 at Medical college of Ohio, Toledo.
He was born Aug. 25, 1954 in Port Clinton
to Dr. Glenn and Pauline (Smith) Chapman.
He is survived by his mother, a daughter,
Andrea Chapman, Fostoria; four brothers, Roland, Richard,
James and William Chapman, all of Port Clinton; two
sisters, Carol and Mary Below, both of Port Clinton;
a stepson, Christopher Lucas, Findlay; and a special friend,
Jean White, Fostoria.
He was proceded in death by his Father.
Mr. Chapman was a purchaser for Whirlpool
corp. for 18 years and was also a real estate agent from 1974
to 1980.
He graduated from Port Clinton High School
in 1972. He was a graduate of Terra Technical College.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton,
and the Port Clinton Eagles Aerie #2295.
A Memorial service will be Wednesday at
3 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church. There
will be no visitation.

Word has been received of the death of Carl
Edwin Conrad, 57, Stanford, Fla., and formerly of Fostoria,
who died 3:20 p.m. Aug. 16, 2000
He was born Sept. 24 1942 in tiffin to Edwin
Conrad and Ada Ward. His mother survives. He married
Ann L. Reed Nov. 26, 1969 in Columbus, and she survives.
Also surviving are four sisters, Karen Needles,
Fostoria; Gloria Thompson, Ada; Lynn Hill, Gettysburg, Pa.;
and LaDonna Perry, Dayton Tenn.; and one brother Douglas Wickard,
Santa Monica, Calif.
A 1960 graduate of Fostoria High School.
Mr. Conrad served in the U. S. Army as a security specialist.
His tour of duty included service in Korea.
Mr. Conrad, an insurance underwrither, graduated
from Franklin University in Columbus with a bachelor
of science degree in business administration.

Bernice J. Drain, 69, of 806 Bright Road, died at 2:30 a.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 29, 1930 in Findlay to
Earl and Ethel (Drake) Hagerman. She married Howard Drain,
and he died in July 1988.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Kunkle,
Findlay; Edwin Drain, Marysville; and Mark S. Drain, Fostoria;
four daughters, Mrs. Eric D. (Patty J.) Soloman, Shawnee,
Okla.; Carol S. Ramey, Findlay; and Robin and Leslie Drain,
addresses unknown; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;
a brother, Roy Hagerman, Toledo; and five sisters, Alice
Corbin, Esther Kunkle and Grace St. Myer, all of Findlay;
Francanna DeVelvis, Wilmington; and Helen Lonsway, Williams,
Ariz.
She was preceded in death by two daughters,
Linda and Anita B. Drain; two brothers, Harold and Robert
Earl Hagerman; and two sisters, Eunice Green and Carold
Parcher.
Mrs. Drain retired as a nurse's aid from
St. Catherine's Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Friday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, the Rev. Linda B.
Zaye officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Former Bloomdale School cook
Zila Kitty Dunn, 97, formerly of 8228 Eagleville
Road, Bloomdale, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, in St. Catherine's
Care Center, 25 Christopher Drive, Fostoria, where she resided.
She was born May 28, 1903, in Wood County,
to Charles O. and Louisa (Luman) Drake. On Dec. 19, 1934,
in Bowling Green, she married John M. Dunn. He died Sept.
6, 1953.
Survivors include: a son, John M. Dunn Jr.
of Fostoria; a daughter, Nancy M. Dunn of Findlay; a brother,
Donald Drake of Risingsun; a sister, Elizabeth Snyder of McClure;
six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers,
John, Harley and Raleigh Drake; and five sisters, Ruby Kramp,
Geneva Yeager, Selma Perkins, Betty Myers and Donnaruth Daniels.
Mrs. Dunn was employed as head cook at Bloomdale
Elementary School for 23 years, retiring in 1973.
She was a member of the Eagleville Church
of Christ, the Grange and Rebecca Club, all of Bloomdale.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Mann-Hare
Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment will be in Weaver Cemetery,
Bloom Township.

Union Carbide retiree
Raymond L. "Red" Clark, 73, of Sycamore
Street, Fostoria, was found dead at his residence at 6:20
a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000.
He was born June 16, 1927, in Walbridge,
to Foster A. and Edna E. (Powell) Clark. His wife, Rosemary
(Ellis) Clark, whom he married Nov. 28, 1953, in Tiffin, preceded
him in death July 10, 1995.
Surviving are: two sons, Scott W.
Clark of Killeen, Texas and David L. Clark of Fostoria; a
daughter, Rebecca Clark of Toledo; a brother, Timothy R. Clark
of Maumee; two sisters, Constance S. Rombach of Jupiter, Fla.
and Ruth (Clark) Watson of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and five
grandchildren.
Mr. Clark, a 1945 graduate of Fostoria
High School, retired in 1984 from the Union Carbide Corp.
in Fostoria, after 37 years of employment. He then worked
at Roppe Rubber Corp., also of Fostoria, for five years.
A life member of the VFW and a member
of the American Legion, both of Fostoria, he served in the
U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m.
Wednesday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria,
with the Rev. Edmond Zickefoos officiating. Burial will be
in Dayton National Cemetery.

Susie A. Carpenter, 85, of 25 Christopher
Drive, Fostoria, died, at 7:50 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2000
at St. Catherine's Care Center. She was born Nov. 10, 1914
to Sam and Eva Lee.
Surviving include: a sister, Helen Spencer
of Columbus; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren;
and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane
Harper.
Ms. Carpenter was a homemaker and member of
the Bethel Baptist Church of Fostoria.
The funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 at the Faith Tabernacle Pennacostal
Church of God, Fostoria. Burial will be at Fountain Cemetery.

Herman A. Dunn, 64, died Tuesday, Sept. 12,
2000, at his home at 4753 E. TR 130, after an illness of two
and a half years.
He was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Whitesburg,
Ky., to Lawrence and Susie (Morgan) Dunn.
Survivors include a brother, Ernest Dunn of
Republic; a sister, Mrs. Walter (Fran) Sherman of Tiffin;
four nephews and a niece.
He also was preceded in death by a brother,
Andrew; and a sister, Evelyn.
Mr. Dunn had worked for General Dynamics in
Fostoria and Lima, retiring in 1991, as a production foreman.
He also served in the Strategic Air Command
of the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of Eagles 691 and the V.F.W.,
both of Wapakoneta.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the
Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with
his nephew, the Rev. Matthew Sherman of the Family Worship
Center, Fremont, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge
Cemetery, Tiffin.

Dennis M. Clouse, 47, of 3022 W. CR 6, Tiffin,
died, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000 at St. Vincent-Mercy
Medical Center, Toledo. He was born April 5, 1953 in Tiffin
to Luke G. and Carolyn M. (Mang) Clouse, both parents survive
in Tiffin. On Nov. 16, 1974 he married Bernadine Bell in St.
Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin, and she survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Travis L.
Clouse of home; a daughter, Mrs. Amy L. Gillig of Tiffin;
three brothers, Jim. E. Clouse of Tiffin, Tim L. Clouse of
Fremont, and Phillip G. Clouse of Wooster; four sisters, Mrs.
Linda Otte of Fostoria, Mrs. Cathleen Painter of Fostoria,
Mrs. Lori Huth of Tiffin, and Mrs. Mary Beth Ziegler of Fostoria;
and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: two nephews,
Cody and Cheyenne Clouse; and a brother-in-law, Mark A. Bell.
Mr. Clouse was a 1971 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon
High School, Bascom, he worked as a machine operator for Sonoco
Company for eight years and was previously employed by Mercy
Hospital, Tiffin, and an equipment operator at Basic Refractories
for 12 years. A member of Christ's Church of Tiffin; president
of McCutchenville's Baseball League Board, and coach of McCutchenville
Baseball League; and served as president of the McCutchenville
Fire Department Board. An avid conservationist, he enjoyed
camping, hunting, and reading.
The Rev. Jon Bravinder will officiate the
9:30 a.m. Saturday funeral service at the Christ's Church
at Tiffin, corner of US 224 and SR 18. Burial will be at Fairmont
Cemetery.

Doris L. Dunn, 78, of 2468 Courtly Road,
Fostoria, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, in
the Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born Dec. 29, 1921, in Martin, Ohio,
to Otto and Mary (Klingbeil) Buss. On June 21, 1943, in
Green Cove Springs, Fla., she married John C. "Jack" Dunn,
who survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son, Brad F.
Dunn of Pennsylvania; a daughter, Beverly A. Fisher of Atlanta,
Ga.; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and nieces
and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were four sisters,
Lil Stick, Rose Buck, Ida Rice and Augusta Marlow.
A homemaker, Mrs. Dunn was a member of the
Fostoria Country Club.
She was a graduate of both Elmore High School,
Elmore and Davis Business College in Toledo.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the
Knollcrest Gardens Chapel, near Arcadia. Interment will
follow in Knollcrest Gardens.

Former Fostoria resident, Mark Alan Cullison,
41, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, in Tampa, Fla.,
where he resided.
He was born in Fostoria, Oct. 10, 1958,
to Thomas V. and Patty S. (Dickerson) Cullison. His father
survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are four sons, Mark R. Cullison
of Toledo, Matthew A. Cullison of Fostoria, Joseph A. Stahl
of Risingsun and Alan M. Moore of Waynesfield; his grandmothers,
Iva Mae Gee-Smith of Palmetto, Fla. and Emma J. Cullison-Griffin
of Fostoria; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Debbie) Dodge and
Cynthia S. Pingle, both of Fostoria; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother,
and grandfathers, Ralph "Red" Gee and Thomas S. Cullison..
Mr. Cullison, a 1976 Lakota High School
graduate, was employed as a mechanic in Tampa.

Journeyman boilermaker
The Rev. Thomas V. Cullison, 64, of 1203
Beier Drive Apt. A, formerly of Risingsun, died at 12:15
a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, in Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Nov. 16, 1935, in Hatton, Ohio,
to Thomas S. Cullison and Emma J. (Edmunds) Cullison Griffin.
His mother survives in Fostoria. He first married Patty
S. Dickerson in 1952, and they were later divorced. She
died Nov. 17, 1996. On June 24, 1992, in Fostoria, he married
Shirley A. Kummerer, who preceded him in death Nov. 23,
1996.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles
(Deborah) Dodge and Cynthia S. Pingle, both of Fostoria;
a brother, Don Cullison of Bradner; a sister, Virginia Schreiner
of New Riegel; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by his father;
a son, Mark Allan Cullison; and an infant sister.
The Rev. Cullison was employed as a journeyman
boilermaker at Basic Refractories in Bettsville for more
than 32 years, retiring in 1985. He also worked for the
Risingsun Police Department.
He was a member of Moose Lodge 1567, Eagles
Club 430, VFW Post 421 and AMVETS Post 69, all of Fostoria.
He also served as a former village councilman
and volunteer firefighter for the village of Risingsun.
The Rev. Donald R. Woodwin will be the officiant
at the 2 p.m. Monday service in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home,
Fostoria. Interment will be in Bradner Cemetery.

Pedro"Pete" DeLaRosa Sr., 66, died at 5:42
p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, in Medical College of Ohio.
Born June 28, 1934, in Asherton, Texas,
he married Frances R. Reyes (Zepeda) on Oct. 7, 1955, in
Carrizo Springs, Texas. She survives in Fostoria.
Seven children all survive in Fostoria,
including: four sons, Mario L., Omar B. Sr., Pedro J. and
John A. DeLaRosa; and three daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Mary
A.) Stewart, Mrs. Dennis (Celia D) Herr, and Anna M. DeLaRosa.
Also surviving are: 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;
three brothers, Ismael J., Bonifacio, and John A. DeLaRosa,
all of Fostoria; and a sister, Ofelia Caredenas of Toledo.
Preceding him in death were: a son, Pedro
DeLaRosa; a granddaughter, Alisha DeLaRosa; and a brother,
Santos DeLaRosa.
Having retired from Fostoria Area Federal
Credit Union, Mr. DeLaRosa had worked 17 years in maintenance
at St. Wendelin Parish, Fostoria, where he was a member.
He served in the U.S. Marines in the Korean War era.
The funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday
at the church with burial to follow in St. Wendelin Cemetery,
Fostoria. The United Veterans of Fostoria will conduct military
graveside services.
Visitation is 2-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. Monday
at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., where the rosary
will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Another rosary will be offered
at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church before the Mass.

Ex-Cello Corp. retiree
Edward L. Chamberlain Sr., 91, a resident
of Blakely Care Center, North Baltimore, formerly of McCutchenville
Road, Fostoria, died at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000,
in the Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
He was born Sept. 9, 1909, in Wood County,
to Frank and Elizabeth (Serveson) Chamberlain. His wife,
Nina C. (Creps) Chamberlain, whom he married June 23, 1930,
in Florence, Ky., died Nov. 4, 1998.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty R. Smith
of Wayne; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four
great-great-grandchildren.
Nine brothers, five sisters and a grandchild,
also are deceased.
Mr. Chamberlain, a member of Trinity United
Brethern Church, Fostoria, retired in 1973 from the Ex-Cello
Corp., Fostoria, where he was employed as a set-up man.

World War II veteran
Jerald L. Donaldson Sr., 80, formerly of
Bush Street, Fremont, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at his
daughter's home, where he had resided for the past three
months.
He was born July 31, 1920, in Gibsonburg,
to Bernice V. Donaldson and Eva Maude Smith. On July 29,
1949, in the Fremont home of the late Rev. H.W. Findlay,
he married Naomi L. Fuller. She died Sept. 28, 1994.
Survivors include: a son, Jerald Donaldson
II of Tiffin; a daughter, Diane Meyer of Fostoria; a sister,
Bertha Davies of Ohio City; and five grandchildren.
Two brothers, Ira Richard "Don" and Harold
C.; and three sisters, Freda Kill, Dorothy Reed and Mildred
Lanier Hejduk, also are deceased.
Mr. Donaldson retired as a material handler
in 1985 from Whirlpool Corp., where he had been employed
for 36 years. Before that he had worked for Red Star Trucking
for two years.
A life member of VFW Post 2947 Fremont,
he served during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corp
in the Burma India Campaign, 1942-45.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in
the Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, Fremont. Interment will

Mildred E. Cramer, 74, of 460 Linwood Ave.,
Fostoria, died at 8:35 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in the
Independence House, Fostoria.
She was born May 13, 1926, in Marion, to
Martin H. and Lottie (Oberlin) Groman. On Jan. 2, 1949,
in Fostoria, she married Karl Cramer, who died in 1986.
A son, Major Gregory K. Cramer U.S.M.C.
of Virginia Beach, Va., survives.
She also was preceded in death by a brother,
Martin Groman Jr.; and two sisters, Helen Groman and Theodocia
Brown.
Mrs. Cramer, a 1944 graduate of Fostoria
High School, had been employed as a secretary for 10 years
in the Fostoria City Schools, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian
Church and the Elks Emblem Club, both of Fostoria and a
former member of the Fostoria Country Club.

Retired Atlas Crankshaft employee
Jean C. Dorsey, 74, of Eastern Ave., Fostoria,
died at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000 at Fostoria Community
Hospital. She was born Aug. 30, 1926 to Thurman and Chloe
(Cattlet) Moore. On June 4, 1946 she married Ralph Dorsey,
and he survives.
Also surviving include: a son, Clyde L.
Dorsey of Fostoria; a daughter, Jean C. Dorsey of Fostoria;
two sisters, Virginia "Furn" Shirley of Springfield, Oh.,
and Catherine M. Stottler of Winchester, VA.; four grandchildren;
and 7 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dorsey was a 1944 graduate of Gainsboro
High School, she retired as an inspector from Atlas Crankshaft
after 15 years, a member of the Eagles, VFW, AmVets, American
Legion, DAV, and Moose, all of Fostoria.

1 p.m. Monday, funeral service at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral

Howard Allen "Whitie" Callendar,
75, died at the Southeast Georgia Medical Center.
He was born July 26, 1925 to Edith and Charles Callendar
in Tiffin, Ohio.
He was a highly decorated World War II
veteran having served as a Navy Corpsman attached to the
Marine Corps. He served during the Korean War.
He graduated from Fostoria High School
in 1943, attended Bowling Green and Toledo Universities
and was employed by Commonwealth Associates and Walker Manufacturing
Company of Jackson, Michigan from which he retired as an
Account Executive.
He enjoyed most of his retirement years
on Jekyll Island, Georgia, where he was a member of the
Rotary Club, the Art Association, the Friends of the Museum
and the Jekyll Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years,
Carolyn Callendar; his son, Kelly (Linda) Callendar; his
daughter, Christine (Patrick) Nolan; his six grandchildren,
Michael Nolan, Geoffrey Nolan, Sarah Nolan, Amanda Nolan,
Daniel Callendar and Michael Callendar; a brother, Charles
Callendar of San Marcos, California and two sisters, Marjorie
Newsome of Laguna Hills, California and Mary Mitchell of
Westland.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather
and a great friend to his many acquaintances.

at 6:11 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, in the Emergency Room
of Fostoria Community Hospital.
He was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Uz, Ky.,
to the late James Monroe and Ocie (Halcomb) Cornett. His
wife, Marsha (Feasel) Cornett, whom he married July 28,
1962, in St. John United Church of Christ, Tiffin, survives.
Survivors also include: three sons, Todd
and Cecil Patrick Cornett, both of Tiffin and Steve Cornett
of Marion, Ind.; four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Jody Lynne)
Sexton of Hallie, Ky., Sue and Erin Corrine Cornett, both
of Tiffin and Mrs. Danny (Bobbi) Dixon of Marion, Ind.;
five brothers, E.L., John and Ronnie Cornett, all of Tiffin
and Jack and Ernie Cornett, both of Kentucky; six sisters,
Nora Belle Cardwell, Norma Young and Kathy Company, all
of Tiffin, Mary Lou Miller, Linda Reed and Judy Breeding,
all of Kentucky; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Penney Elaine Cornett; and
a brother, Dempsey Cornett, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Cornett was a self-employed logger.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today and 1-2 p.m.
Wednesday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.
