Elizabeth L. (Miller) White-Scott
S's Helen H. Schmitz Helen H. Schmitz, 85, of Stinchcomb Street, Fostoria, formerly of Clyde, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, in the Toledo Hospital. Born June 11, 1913, in Clyde, to Joseph and Ellen (Guisinger) Sutter, she maried Gerald G. Schmitz, Jan. 16, 1934. He died Dec. 13, 1985. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Paul (Nancy) Missler of Columbus, Gerri Brent of Fostoria, David Schmitz of Clyde, Mrs. Kenneth (Judi) Pappenfus, also of Fostoria and Thomas Schmitz of Union, Ky.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Sutter of Clyde. Three sisters, Agnes Bookmyer, Marie Brutsche and Cecilia Held; and a brother, Cletus Sutter, also are deceased. Mrs. Schmitz, a homemaker, had attended St. Joseph High School, Fremont. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde, and was active in the Democratic Party in Sandusky County, where she was named ''Democratic Woman of the Year'' in 1980. She was a long-time Clyde area resident before moving to Fostoria. A funeral Mass in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, where prayers will be said at 10:15 Saturday morning. Memorials may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame, Toledo, or Hospice of Sandusky County.

Schroeder Anthony A. ''Tony'' Schroeder, 35, of West Street, Bascom, died at 10:26 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, as a result of an automobile accident on SR 18, west of Bascom. He was born in Tiffin Feb. 14, 1963, to Harry A. and Mary E. (Rader) Schroeder. His mother survives in Fairfield, Calif. His companion, Dawn A. Snyder, survives in Bascom. Survivors also include: a stepson and stepdaughter, Justen and Magen Snyder, both of Bascom; and three sisters, Ruth Ann Moyer of Tiffin, Mrs. Benjamin (Tamara) Schroeder-Garibay of Fairfield and Janice Raney of Fostoria. His father is deceased. A member of the Fostoria Shuffleboard League, Mr. Schroeder was employed as a machinist at OCECO in Tiffin. Services in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Russell Gumm officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia. Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
Laura M. Schroth Laura M. Schroth, 65, died at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at her residence at 720 Eastern Ave., Fostoria. She was born in Hancock County, Nov. 17, 1932, to the late Frank and Florence (Goshe) Reinhart. On Sept. 6, 1958, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, she married Joseph B. Schroth. He died Aug. 11, 1978. Survivors include: a son, Robert A. ''Bob'' Schroth of Fostoria; two daughters, Cindy Schroth of Columbus and Kathy Schroth of Bowling Green; three grandsons; a brother, Bernard Reinhart of Leesburg, Fla.; and two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Jeanette) Mitten of Tiffin and Carolyn Wilcox of Fostoria. Also preceding her in death were a son, Mark Schroth; and three sisters, Camilla Reinhart, Geneva Yost and Marjorie Hensley. A 1952 graduate of St. Wendelin High School, Mrs. Schroth retired in 1994 from Speedway in Fostoria, after 10 years of employment. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church. A funeral Mass in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, where the Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, is 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Wednesday. A Christian Wake service will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Scott Barbara M. Scott, 84, of Fostoria, died in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, Tuesday, April 7, 1998. She was born in Grand Rapids, Wis., Dec. 5, 1912, to Frank Stelmach and Theodora (Karcz) Stelmach-Nowak. Her husband, Stanley M. Scott, who she married Jan. 21, 1932, preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Donald Scott of Findlay; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Gladys) Craig of Fostoria; two sisters, Theresa D. McGinnis of Fostoria and MarieWuczaynski of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were a son, Bernard Scott; a sister and a brother. Mrs. Scott had been employed as a laborer for a jewelry manufacturer in Chicago. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, with the Rev. Daniel J. Ring of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia. Visitation at the funeral home is 7-9 p.m. today. (Miller) White-Scott Elizabeth L. (Miller) White-Scott, 72, of 1008 Cherry St., Fostoria, died at 5:35 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at Fostoria Community Hospital. She was born Dec. 11, 1925, to William and Mary (Baughman) Miller. She married Carl Leo White and he preceded her in death. She then was married to James A. Scott in August 1983, and he survives. Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Jose (Bonnie) Cartagena of Fostoria; two brothers, Ralph Miller of Fostoria and Devon Miller of Carey; a sister, Glendola Couch of Fostoria; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul LeRoy Miller, and a sister, Joyce Miller. Mrs. White-Scott worked as a dishwasher for the Candyland Restaurant in Fostoria for many years. She was a member of the Senior Co. Commission on Aging and Fostoria Senior Citizens. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, at the Memory Gardens Chapel in Arcadia, Ohio. Scott Margaret H. Scott, 91, of 1326 Flechtner Road, Fostoria, died in the Winebrenner Village, Findlay, at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998. She was born Sept. 6, 1907, in Owensboro, Ky., the daughter of Robert F. and Pauline (McFarland) Bell. Her husband, Clarence G. Scott, whom she married July 26, 1926, in Kansas City, Mo., died April 19, 1983. Surviving are a son, Dale Scott of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Dorothy) Cooper of Findlay; two sisters, Ruth Cook of Toledo and Alice Stewart-Mason of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Eleanor Hicks, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Scott, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, had been employed as a paintdepartment manager at the former Sears Store in Fostoria for 20 years, retiring in 1968. She was a member of High Street United Methodist, Fostoria and its Missionary Society, Path Finder Class and Bereans. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, with the Rev. Jeffrey Waite officiating. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria. Sendelbach Dorothy L. Sendelbach, 84, of 403 Sandusky St., Fostoria, died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria. She was born in Fostoria, June 13, 1914, to William and Emma (Fuhr) Sendelbach. Survivors include: three sisters, Beatrice Sendelbach, Helen ''Annie'' Shontz and Phyllis Dawson, all of Fostoria; and two brothers, Gerald ''Jake'' and Howard ''Pat'' Sendelbach, both of Fostoria. Preceding her in death were four brothers, Ambrose, Cyril, Clarence and William Sendelbach; and two sisters, Eleanor Kroetz and Mary Sendelbach. Miss Sendelbach, a homemaker, was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, with burial in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria. Visitation at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. A Christian Wake service will be at 8:30. Shaver Christine V. Shaver, 68, of East Jackson Street, Fostoria, died at 10:22 a.m. Sunday, April 5, 1998 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. She was born July 28, 1929 in Blacksburg, Va. to Marshall E. and Nellie (Davis) McMahan. She married Clarence B. Shaver on Feb. 11, 1946 in Christiansburg, Va., and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jeff of Fostoria; Gary of Tiffin; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Tommy McMahan, Mount Tabor, Va.; and two sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Thelma) Hypes, Christiansburg, Va.; and Mrs. Claude (Diane) Dove, Chesapeake, Va. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth McMahan. Mrs. Shaver retired in 1976 after working 28 years at Bendix Autolite Corp., now Allied Signal Corp., Fostoria. She was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church, Fostoria. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Jerry L. Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia. Visitation will be held from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Betty M. Sheller Betty M. Sheller, 68, of West Jones Street, Fostoria, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria. Born in Wood County, near Fostoria, Aug. 25, 1930, to the late Homer W. and Eva I. (Ball) Scott, she married DeLoss J. Sheller, Aug. 2, 1951, in Fayetteville, N.C. He preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1987. Survivors include: a son, William R. Scott of Fostoria; four brothers, Jim, Frank and Pete Scott, all of Fostoria and Ray Scott of Florida; two grandchildren, a great-grandchild and three step-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, John, Gaylan and David Scott; and three sisters, Helen Augsburger, Rosella Ball and Agnes Haynes. A member of the Church of God, Mrs. Sheller had been employed at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Fostoria for five years. Graveside services in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, are 11 a.m. today, with the Rev. Paul E. Myers officiating. There will be no visitaiton. The Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Seneca County.
Helen Simpson Helen Simpson, 97, of Autumnwood Care Center, died at 2:55 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at the center, where she had resided since 1992. She had lived most of her life in Bettsville. She was born Sept. 28, 1901, in Bettsville to the late Jasper and Lola (Beck) Swartzmiller. On April 4, 1920, she married Raymond Simpson. He died in November 1990. Two grandsons, Michael L. Simpson of North Robinson and Gary W. Simpson of Rawson, survive, as do six great-grandchildren and a sister, Dortha Bowe of Fremont. Preceding her in death were: a son, Donald R. Simpson; four brothers, Olen, Claude, Leon and Howard Swartzmiller; and three sisters, Thelma Francis, Mary Roush and Mabel Warner. Mrs. Simpson was a member of the first graduating class of Bettsville High School and had retired from Ford Autolite in Fostoria. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary, Post 733, both in Bettsville. The Rev. Gary Adams will preside at graveside services at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Pleasant Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home of Bettsville, where a Legion Auxiliary service will take place at 7. Memorials may be made to Autumnwood, Alzheimer's Support Group or the Seneca County Humane Society.
Ruth V. Slick Ruth V. Slick, 81, a resident of St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, formerly of North Seneca CR 5, Fostoria, died at 9:04 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo. She was born Nov. 25, 1916, in Fostoria, to Raleigh H. and Myrtle M. (Good) Lawyer. Surviving are a son, Jimmy E. Slick of Fostoria; a daughter, Sandra K. Hollenbaugh of Ashley; a sister, Gayle Deckard of Fostoria; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Slick retired from Fostoria Community Hospital in 1981, after 23 years of employment. A 1934 graduate of Jackson Liberty High School, Amsden, she served as secretary of school's P.T.A. for 10 years. She was a member of the High Street United Methodist Church, Fostoria. The Rev. Jeffrey L. Waite will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Tuesday graveside service in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia. There will be no visitation. Slotterbeck Harold D. Slotterbeck, 78, of Brandeberry Road, Fostoria, died at 2:05 p.m. Friday, April 3, 1998 at Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born April 3, 1920 in Bloomdale to Edward D. and Maggie M. (Shane) Slotterbeck. He married Wanda M. Tyson on Sept. 8, 1942 in Greenup, Ky., and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Linden D. of Wauseon; Randal R. of Cleveland; a daughter, Sally K. Cosler, Dayton; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward V., and a half sister, Veda Robinson. Mr. Slotterbeck worked for TransWorld Airlines (TWA) during the 1940s, then for AP Parts in Toledo for 21 years. He then worked at Ex-Cell-O (Airfoil Textron) for six years, retiring March 1, 1986. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria; the Fostoria Sportsmen Club and the Toledo Power Squadron. He had worked with Junior Achievement and was a scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America, both in Toledo. Mr. Slotterbeck was a 1940 graduate of Bloomdale High School, and also attended technical schools pertaining to the aircraft industry. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps' Air Transport Command. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria, the Rev. Richard E. Hofmann officiating. Burial will be in Bloom Chapel Cemetery, Bloom Township, Wood County. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Smith L. Lucille Smith, 77, of Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, died at 3:05 a.m. Friday, May 1, 1998, at Good Shepherd. She formerly lived on Colonial Drive, Fostoria. She was born Dec. 8, 1920, in Hillard, Mo., to James D. and Ethel J. (Loury) Enlow. On Feb. 11, 1942, she married Harley V. Smith, who died Jan. 19, 1997. Her caregiver, Deanne C. Carpenter of Fostoria, survives. Her parents, husband and a brother, James Leo Enlow, preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith graduated in 1938 form Poplar Bluff High School, Poplar Bluff, Mo., and had retired in the 1980's as a secretary at the Lima Correctional Institution, Lima, Ohio. A former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Lima, she attended the Church of the Nazarene, Fostoria. At 1:30 p.m. Monday, the Rev. Russell Gumm will officiate at funeral services at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Memory Gardens near Arcadia, Ohio. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the Fostoria Church of the Nazarene.
Leola G. Snyder Leola G. Snyder, 91, was found dead at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 1998, of natural causes, at her residence at 8241 W. SR 12, Fostoria. She was born in Bettsville, April 22, 1907, to Hayes and Ann Null. In February 1929, in Indiana, she married Chester D. Snyder. He survives in rural Fostoria. Other survivors include: a son, Jim Snyder of Fostoria; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were: three brothers, William and George Grant and Kenneth Null; and two sisters, Lalah Van Camp and Marie Ellis. Mrs. Snyder, a homemaker, also was the owner/operator of Quick Shake in Fostoria for 10 years, during the 1960s and 1970s. A 1928 graduate of Jackson-Liberty High School, she was a member of Amsden United Methodist Church. She also taught china painting, bowled for the Amsden Grange and raised Pomeranians. Services in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ruth Solo officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, SR 592, near Fostoria. Visitation at the funeral home is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Seneca County.

Sorg Rosalyn L. Sorg, 67, of W. Loudon Twp Rd. 112, Fostoria, died Thursday, July 9, 1998 at her home. She was born Nov. 30, 1930, in Fremont to Michael and Lucy (Kramer) Hoffman. On August 29, 1953, she married Harold B. Sorg in Fremont. He died Aug. 18, 1975. Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Kristine) Wenzke of Fostoria; a foster daughter, Mrs. Steven (Beth) Klinck-Brandeberry of West Milton, OH; two sisters, Delores Miesle and Jenny Dorobek, both of Fremont; and five grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a brother, Donald Hoffman; and two sisters, Mildred Klink, and Evelyn Bork. Mrs. Sorg was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Fremont. She retired in 1998 as a clerk at St. Vincent DePaul in Fostoria with 22 years of service. She was a member of the St. Wendelin Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Wendelin Catholic Church on Saturday, July 11, 1998. Burial will be at the St. Wendelin Parish cemetery in Fostoria. Visitation hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with a Rosary Service to be held at 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Seneca County Community Hospice or St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
Helen B. Sour, 91, of 25 Christopher Drive, Fostoria, and formerly of Amsden and Bellevue, died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 1998 at St. Catherines Care Center, Fostoria. She was born Nov. 2, 1906 in Big Island, Ohio, to James G. and Pearl (Savidge) Pangborn. She married Leland S. Sour on Sept. 1, 1929 in Marion, and he died Jan. 20, 1994. Surviving are two sons, Richard S. of Urbana; Robert L. of Bellevue; a daughter, Beverly Whitaker, Pickerington; a brother, Milton Baker, Jamestown, Calif.; a sister, Marian Conroy, Bayview; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sour retired in 1972 after 25 years as a second grade teacher with the Lakota school system. She was a member of the National Education Association and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She was a 1924 graduate of Harding High School in Marion, and attended Kent State University. She was a member of Amsden United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, the Rev. Ruth Solo officiating. Visitation will be private. Memorials may be made to the church.

Norma Morse-Sprow Norma Morse-Sprow, 69, Ada Ave., Rising Sun, died at 2:15 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 1998, at the Wood Co. Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 18, 1928, in McGuffey, Ohio, to John and Virgie (Jarvis) Wells. She was first married to Earl A. Morse on Nov. 1, 1946 in Toledo; he died in 1956. She then married Richard Sprow in 1961 in Toledo and they were divorced. Survivors include four sons, Earl Morse of Rising Sun, Richard Sprow of Fostoria, Daniel and Thomas Sprow, both of Rising Sun; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Karen) Jenkins of Lambertville, MI; two brothers, James Wells of Bowling Green, and John Wells of Saginaw, MI; two sisters, Betty Horne of Saginaw, MI, and Ellen Adams of N.C.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were parents; husband; and a grandchild. Mrs. Morse-Sprow was the former owner and operator of Well's Market in Toledo and a former manager of Lawson's Dairy in Fostoria. She retired as the office clerk at the Rising Sun Elementary School. The Rev. Harold Black will officiate the 3 p.m., Sunday, July 5, 1998, service at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be at Whitney-Sims cemetery in Au Gres, MI. on Monday at 2 p.m. Visitation hours are Saturday 2-4 p.m. and Sunday 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Stannard Rodney R. Stannard, 47, of Wauseon, died Thursday morning, April 23, 1998, at the Toledo Hospital, where he had been a patient since Feb. 25, 1998. He was born March 1, 1951, at Wauseon, the son of Calvin and Pauline (Seiler) Stannard. On Dec. 10, 1971, he married Vicki Miller, who survives. Other survivors include: his mother, Pauline Stannard of Archbold; two sons, Eric and Jason Stannard of Fayette and Archbold, Ohio, respectively; a daughter, Nicole Stannard, at home; four grandchildren; a brother, Charles Stannard of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio; and two sisters, Sharon Stannard of Fostoria and Mrs. John (Jo Nell) Ott of South Bend, Ind. His father preceded him in death. Mr. Stannard was a 1969 graduate of Archbold High School and lived his lifetime in the Archbold/Wauseon area. He worked in the family business known as Country Side Creations. He was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Chruch in Archbold, Defiance Moose Lodge and the Toledo Craftsman Guild. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Evangelical Mennonite Church in Archbold, with Pastor Matthew Boyers officiating. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m.- 9 p.m. Sunday at the Short Funeral Home in Archbold.
Ruth L. Stearns, 83, of Township Road 36, Kansas, died at 4:28 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998 at Fostoria Community Hospital. She was born April 22, 1915 in Wood County to Albert and Emma (Willett) Yates. She married Albert D. Stearns on Oct. 24, 1935 in Bowling Green, and he survives. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Darrell, Paul and Raymond Yates. Mrs. Stearns was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Allen Minton officiating. Burial will be in Graham Cemetery, Wood County. Stocker Clorinda I. Stocker, 84, of 8450 N. US 23, Risingsun, formerly of 1224 Sandusky St., Fostoria, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria. She was born June 22, 1914, in Fostoria, to John L. and Iva G. (Clark) Alley. Her husband, Clifton Stocker, whom she married Sept. 17, 1933, in Fostoria, died July 5, 1970. Surviving are: a son, Charles C. Stocker of Huron; two daughters, Charlene James of Risingsun and Shirley A. Childers of Fostoria; three brothers, Ralph and Raymond Alley, both of Fostoria, and Donald Alley of Tiffin; three sisters, Florence George of Montross, Colo., Mrs. Ed (Joyce) Agater of Tiffin and Helen Burns of Toledo; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by seven brothers, Richard, Clark, John, James, William, Robert and Carl Alley; and two sisters, Louise Morman and Patricia Frontz. Mrs. Stocker, a member of Fostoria Church of the Brethren, had been employed at Bowling Green State University for 12 years as a custodial worker, retiring in 1982. Private services and burial will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Ohio. There will be no visitation. The Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Stoner Velva Mae Stoner, 75, of 1290 Perrysburg Rd. 12, Fostoria, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. She was born Oct. 28, 1922, to Harry and Ruth E. (Wiltz) Crabtree. On Nov. 30, 1968, she married Duane E. Stoner, and he survives. Other survivors include: four step-sons, Charles J. Stoner of Kissamee, FL., Anthony D. Stoner of Missouri, Michael J. Stoner of Kissamee, Florida, and Christopher E. Stoner of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Karen Sue Grycza of Toledo; a step-daughter, Dianna Marie Stoner of Kissamee, Florida; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild. Mrs. Stoner worked for Schuller factory in Waterville (the former Mannville). She retired in 1990 after 12 years. There will be no visitation hours. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made of the donor's choice.
Tom L. Stoudinger Tom L. Stoudinger, 54, of 4039 CR 41, Helena, died in the Toledo Hospital at 12:50 am. Tuesday, July 28, 1998. He was born Aug. 28, 1943, in Fostoria to the late Dustin Franklin and Freda ''Jane'' (Schell) Stoudinger. His wife, Ellen J. (Strong) Gonyer-Stoudinger, survives in Helena. Survivors also include: his former wives, Mrs. Robert (Judy) Sandella of Ladson, S.C. and Mrs. Larry (Janet) Stancil of Clyde; seven sons, Kevin L. Stoudinger of Wayne, Scott A. Stoudinger of Brander, Ronald L. Stoudinger of Risingsun, Tom L. Stoudinger of Gibsonburg, Terry L. and Phillip J. Stoudinger, both of Fremont; and Anthony M. Gonyer of Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Martin (Suzette) Brown of Gibsonburg and Mrs. Robert (Kelly) Hull of West Milton; a sister, Mrs. James (Sandra) Havens of Oak Harbor; and 17 grandchildren. Mr. Stoudinger, a machinist for Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria for 30 years, retired in 1993. A 1961 graduate of Risingsun High School, he was employed at Atlas Industries Inc. in Gibsonburg as a maintenance oiler. Mr. Stoudinger was a member of the Fostoria United Sportsman Club, Fremont Moose Lodge and UAW Local 336. Services in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, will be 10:30 am. Friday, with the Rev. Ivan L. Schwenn officiating. Interment will be in Bradner Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Tey Chriselda Tey, 17, of Fostoria, died at 4:20 p.m. Friday, May 24, 1998, in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo. She was born in Findlay, Sept. 27, 1980, the daughter of Noe C. and Delia M. (Martinez) Tey. They survive in Fostoria. Other survivors include: a brother, Cosme Tey and two sisters, Erica and Sarah Tey, all of Fostoria; three nieces; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Tey of Sycamore, Domingo Martinez of Gonzales, Texas and Alisia Martinez of Fostoria; her great-grandmother, Margarita DeLeon of Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A May 24, 1988, graduate of Mohawk High School, Ms. Tey had been a student at Fostoria High School, where she was an honor roll student, president of the Spanish Club and a cheerleader for five years (most recently being a varsity football and basketball cheerleader). Services in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with Pastor Ron Merritt of the Church of the Good Shepherd and Pastor Herb Stickland officiating. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Tey Erica Marie Tey, 22, of 176 E. Fremont St., died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998, in an automobile accident on US 23 in Fostoria. She was born March 11, 1976, in Upper Sandusky, to Mr. and Mrs. Noe C. (Delia) Tey, who survive in Fostoria. Survivors also include: a daughter, Tyshea L. Perkins; a brother, Cosme Tey and a sister, Sarah Tey, all of Fostoria; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos (Delfina) Tey of Sycamore, Domingo Martinez of Gonzales, Texas and Mrs. Alicia Martinez of Fostoria; her great-grandmother, Mrs. Margarita DeLeon of CorpusChristi, Texas; a niece and numerous other relatives. Preceding her in death were a sister, Chriselda Tey; and a daughter, Ariana Gizella Perkins. Ms. Tey, a 1994 graduate of Fostoria High School, attended the Church of the Good Shepherd in Wayne. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Merritt officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria. Theis A funeral Mass for Vincent C. Theis, 92, a resident of St. Francis Home in Tiffin since 1984, and formerly of New Riegel, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Tiffin, the Rev. Leonard Kistler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, Tiffin, with a Catholic Knights of Ohio rosary service at 8 p.m., followed by a parish wake service at 8:30 p.m. A rosary also will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Mr. Theis died at 7:16 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 1998 in the Emergency Care Center of Tiffin Mercy Hospital. He was born April 20, 1906 in New Riegel to Joseph and Sophia (Wagner) Theis. Surviving is a nephew, Walter Theis, Roseville, Minn. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Milton and Herman. Mr. Theis was the retired owner/operator of Theis Coal and Building Supply Co., New Riegel. He graduated from St. Wendelin High School and attended Heidelberg College, Tiffin. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church; Moose Lodge 872 in New Riegel for 65 years; and Catholic Knights of Ohio 52 in New Riegel for 55 years. Thomasson I George I. Thomasson I, 75, of West County Rd. 18, Fostoria, Ohio, was found dead at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, at his home. On April 10, 1923, in Fostoria, he was born to John L. and Lulu J. (Kost) Thomasson. Dorothy L. Myers, whom he married Jan. 14, 1950, in Fostoria, died Dec. 12, 1993. Survivors are: his mother, Lulu J. Mitchell of Fostoria; a son, George I. Thomasson II of Fostoria; two daughters, Michelle Thomasson of California and Mrs. Werner (Sandra) Cramer of Findlay, Ohio; a grandson; two brothers, Ralph Mitchell of Fostoria and Fred Thomasson of S.C.; and two sisters, Juanita Dunfee of Fostoria and Donna Jean Below of Sarasota, Fla. His father, wife and a brother, Orlin Mitchell, preceded him in death. Mr. Thomasson served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired in 1987 from Atlas Crankshaft Corporation, Fostoria, after over 30 years of employment. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Knollcrest Cemetery, Findlay, Ohio. He was born March 27, 1922 in Tell City, Ind. to Joseph B. and Anna (Huff) Troesch. He married Pauline A. Dillon on Aug. 30, 1963 in Prichard, Ala., and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Vincent E. Steele, Sandusky; four daughters, Mrs. Junior (Carol A.) Van, Elizabethtown, W.Va.; Mrs. Clay (Brenda L.) Erickson, Harriman, Tenn.; Carolyn J. Brought and Marie F. Bartell-Rico, both of Sandusky; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Albert (Judy L.) Ringle, Castalia; 41 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Bufort (Teresa) Hardin, Holt, Fla. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Spikes; a stepdaughter, Sandra Nimrichter; a brother, Albert Troesch; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Troesch was a truck driver, driving for Morgan Driveway in Elkhart, Ind., for most of his 39 years of employment. He had recently driven for Vance Auto Transportation. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tell City, Ind. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children Fund.
Josie N. Trout Josie N. Trout, 91, of 41st Ave., Birmingham, AL, formerly of Fostoria, died at 12 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 1998, at the Health South Hospital, Birmingham. She was born June 7, 1907, in Garfield, OK, to Charles and Bertha (DeBoard) Roberts. On May 25, 1940, she married Louis G. Trout. He died May 14, 1984. Surviving include: a son, Louis Robert Trout of Kailua, Hawaii; a step-son, George J. Trout of Fenton, MI; a step-daughter, Frances Marie Wenzinger of Cona Park, CA; two brothers, Bill Roberts of Ft. Bragg, CA, and Bert Roberts of Birmingham, AL; a sister, Verna Mills of Bartlesville, OK; three grandchildren; and six step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a step-son, Robert Trout; four brothers, Franklin, Sanford, Reese and Alvin Roberts; and a sister, Nettie Casteel. Mrs. Trout was a homemaker. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Fostoria and belonged to the Daughters of the Union Veterans. The Rev. Branson J. Hawkes will officiate the 11 a.m., Monday, August 3, 1998, service at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
